Mr T, the owner/teacher seems to care, BUT money is number one with him and the studio. If a new student comes in with no dance experience, Mr T will gladly put that child in a class of students who have been training for many years... if there is a pay check involved. This is a terrible idea because the students who are trained now have to wait on the new student to learn what they have learned years ago, and the new student feels out of place. Mr T groups dancers by age and not talent or ability, and if a mom comes in, for example, and wants her child in the Tuesdays class and not the Thursday class, they will take the paycheck, and put the child in a class they have no business in. This happens all year long and makes it nearly impossible for the dancers of any level to progress. ALSO, I have made a few calls to the IRS about the "non-profit 501c3" status the studio claims to have and the IRS could find no record of the studio. I was the ballet teacher at the studio. I am highly trained in classical Balachine method ballet, and have taught ballet for almost 40 years. Im in my 50s now and I still do double pirouettes on pointe. Mr T does not understand ballet and the importance of things like "knees over toes" or "hips down", he is more concerned about how high he can get the kids to hold up there legs, even if there bodies are bent and there feet are sickled, as long as it looks cool... which WILL eventually cause injuries. If you are just looking for fun, the studio is okay, but if you want to be a dancer...a real dancer... go somewhere else!!!
