Our experience over the three years we sent our daughter to Paulyns West Point was this. First of all I should state I give this two stars because the local instructors were great instructors and were doing the best they could in a less than ideal situation. The staff at the satellite locations were completely unable to help with purchases, billing or other administrative functions at all. This was not for lack of desire to help as they were not allowed by the home office to do anything of that nature. In the winter they were not even allowed to turn the heat and lights on before class time so that the practice room would be over 50-60 degrees when the girls got there. If there was a billing problem, complaint or request it was impossible to get anyone from the home office to respond by email or phone. If they did respond they were usually condescending and acted as though they didn't have time to deal with parents concerns or questions. Year after year we experienced wildly overpriced, shoddily manufactured costumes that usually would need to have repair work done by the wife before the show. At the shows clearly the Norfolk girls were showcased over and above everyone else. For every one of the actual class routine there was two of the "paulyns studio dancer" routines. While these girls were very talented frankly they were not who the parents came to see. The result was a show that lasted 3 hours with a show being an all day affair starting at 9am and ending a 10pm As Paulyns was the only game in town at the time we were kind of locked in if we wanted our daughter to dance. We finally withdrew her and started in on other activities rather than do business with Paulyns.
