I would not recommend this studio. Any other dance studio, is better than this dance studio. Our daughter, who loves to dance, did not enjoy this class. The instructor discourages parents from watching, even if you've never met her and seen how she does things (this is a big red-flag for me when it concerns young children). Also, there appears to have been a time mentioned by another reviewer when the instructor asked a parent to take a young kid to the bathroom (this girls parents were not present to take their own child to the bathroom-as discouraged by the instructor), and the other parent was a stranger to the child who did not feel comfortable taking a stranger's kid to the bathroom. That seems consistent with the creepy awkwardness of our experience. Aside from the creepy awkwardness, the instructor also has lots of hidden fees. She kept adding costs at every turn. From other reviews, it appears the instructor will even hold your child's dance experience (photos, events, etc) hostage if you are non-compliant with the additional/hidden fees. If you want a non-creepy dance experience, with likely less surprising additional costs, you'll want to take your business elsewhere. **Edit to original review after the owner commented: I received physical proof in the form of a letter from the instructor that parents were asked to not be present during dance class. So, the instructor who replied to my original review is either confused, or misunderstanding her own stated policy. Also, I have had the opportunity of speaking with another of the parent reviewers here, who states she was asked by the instructor to leave/quit the dance class (without being given the chance to speak to the instructor). This same reviewer had approached the instructor about her concerns (wanting to observe the instruction, being asked to take stranger's kids to the bathroom, not wanting her daughter to have make-up applied and shared with other children-unsanitary, etc.). The instructor came across as very defensive, and unapproachable. So I stand by my review: this dance studio is creepy and awkward.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. First of all the reviews besides CW and possibly Lon Loff are bogus! The Petersens are employed and parents to the child that is showcased and "used" to teach classes. I feel sorry for this little girl that is being exposed by this studio and her parents according to the recital program. I first handedly witnessed the interactions that Miss Lynda has had with the children and know that CW is not posting anything bogus. I have witnessed her belittling dancers on multiple occasions. She does not showcase all the dancers. I have never seen a little one with the teenagers nor have I had to dance with little ones unless it was a production piece. I have done many performances throughout my career and this really bothered me as it took away from seeing the talent from the teenage dancers having to watch her. I did talk with some of the parents and majority state their children did not grow this year at this studio and because of this they are leaving dance all together or changing studios. Some parents were very upset that their child has lost their love for dance. Miss Lynda and the teachers should feel ashamed.

I am so beyond disgusted with this woman's behavior! I happen to know her professionalism is seriously lacking...she has spoke about parents and dancers to other parents and dancers on several different occasions. I have been witness to her "little chickens" talking with me about her belittling them in front of other students and parents, this is horrible for these little ones to be exposed to. And I agree that it is very unsanitary for her to apply the same makeup on all girls. And she does ask random individuals to take kiddos to the bathroom, not ok! There are plenty of great studios around town, that are actually focused on teaching dance as opposed to sitting and observing for over half of your session, manners and good behavior (which are great) but not what hour is intended for. Choose carefully :}

I absolutely have a blast coming to teach for this studio. The staff is awesome and I love love love the students/dancers I get to work with. They all have so much potential and work hard to keep growing and climbing as dancers. I have first hand been able to see the joy, sweat, and commitment the dancers put in and we always have a great time. The owner and teachers are always welcoming when I come out there! Being a professional choreographer/dancer from Los Angeles, I think this studio helps prepare dancers for the real life industry . It is not always easy and takes serious dedication to work on your craft. And these dancers work hard for it! I am city raised but have fallen in love with this studio and part of Montana!

I have been WELL aware of this studio for MANY years! Miss Lynda is the most professional, organized and FAIR teacher I know! I have been witness to her dance practices for years. I'd be happy to send my child or refer ANY child with the desire to dance with a well organized, educated and PROFESSIONAL dance instructor in Billings! My son did take acrosport and competed with this studio. My son is now in the Army and still remembers how fun this experience was!

I read an interesting edit from CW. I don't know what studio to which she is referring, but it couldn't have been the RimView Dance Studio. Interestingly, I was in attendance during the class in which CW attended. I remember clearly that CW became extremely upset when Miss Lynda offered her a daughter a single M&M because her little girl used excellent manners. We were so proud of her; obviously, CW wasn't. As far as restroom use for the little ones, Miss Lynda was extremely careful that the little ones didn't go to the restroom without someone who the little ones were familiar (mine included). The students were with people they knew, and particularly those that the instructors felt safe. I feel sorry for people like you CW who find it necessary to badger people just because the entire class didn't revolve around CW's little girl.

Poor management and guidance by Miss Lynda. My granddaughter went to this school for 5 months. During the first 4 month she was taught nothing by the instructor. She was only allowed to sit on the sidelines and watch. The second month she attended 1 class, missed 2 due to illness and the last week was cancelled. Photos were taken which my daughter paid for, and are being withheld because my daughter was refused to pay for services not rendered. Piss poor public relations if you ask me!

I have known Lynda for 25 years and had two older daughters dance with her. I now have 2 more daughters and they are eager to start dance. There is no one else I'd trust my girls with. Lynda is, professionally, amazing! As a dance mom in my older daughters classes, I witnessed a true professional with a sense of humor that made dance FUN to come to! I am so excited to go back again!!! Lynda is a gem!

Miss Lynda and I have resolved some issues. Just to clarify to those who can’t actually read the post made my beef was more than legit! For those who did not read what was actually posted I do agree 100% that the little girl showcased in all classes is truly talented and I do believe she is going to be a major superstar. My issue was not her nor would I ever have an issue with a child. My issue is that it seems to be all about her and her talent rather than teaching other children. We pay for our children to learn as she does. Also you are absolutely not allowed to watch the recital practices. We were asked to leave for privacy reasons. Not a huge deal but just want to clarify that it is absolutely not allowed. There were zero allegations. Just facts. I’m glad some of you have had an amazing experience. It was super unfortunate that we did not. My daughter wanted so badly to join dance but she is so active and does not enjoy watching more than learning. We didn’t pull our child sooner because of the cost for the recital. We paid costume and then recital fees and then tickets for her performance. Most parents who have done recitals knows this is paid well in advance. And miss Lynda was generous to not charge us late fees when we were late on tuition payments. We weren’t aware there was a deadline. Lastly - google ‘perception’. Everyone has their own based on their experiences.

Rimview has been great! I danced when I was young and now I have my little one in dance!! She absolutely loved it this year. The class is very structured and they have fabulous dance moms!!! Everything is so organized. The pictures were great. Remember I do have a 5 yr old so she doesn’t always cooperate the best but they got the pic! It will be great for memories no matter what! I highly recommend this dance studio

If you want childcare for your child where they teach your kid manners and how to sit in a circle then go here. If you want them to learn dance and have fun doing so then DO NOT choose this studio. Miss Lynda cares about money and wasting your child’s time while sucking the joy out of dancing. And she focuses on one little dancer who is daughter to a teacher and takes over a dozen classes. Favoritism much?

It is very sad that you would bash this wonderful women. She has taught my daughter for the last three years, she is kind, generous and has the biggest heart. Teaching kids manners and respect for your fellow dancers is everyone's job not just a parents. I feel bad for you that you have to counitne to put negatively into an already hateful world and that you think that is more important to teach your kids then proper manners. I am so thankful for all Rimview has done for my daughter. Her teachers Rock and I couldn't be happier with her dance skills. If you truly believe that your child didn't learn anything all season then you should have pulled her in the beginning.

I am a parent of this studio and I have had such An amazing experience as has my children. Ms. Lynda made my children feel safe and ultimately created a fun environment for all. She is highly knowledgeable and caring for all these precious children. I have never felt like my child was in a situation that where they were uncomfortable. There are designated mothers with the children. Those mothers are dancers moms that are trusted individuals of the community. They help the students with snacks, bathroom, drinks, and parent send off. When it comes to instruction, she does teach the girls how to use makeup. The makeup that is used is sanitized as if you went into a makeup store. Nothing touches another child without being sanitized. She teaches the children about the professionalism in the business. I would highly recommend this studio to any of my friends!!!!

I love Rimview Dance Studio!!!! My little one had so much fun and just really enjoyed the whole experience. They not only teach the kids but they build relationships! The review was amazing this year. All the dancers performed and what a great production. I absolutely recommend this studio.

Observation of your own childs class is highly discouraged, and unjustly punished. Ms lynda kicked my young daughter out of her dance class two months before the final recital because I stayed at class. I was uncomfortable leaving my child alone with the way ms lynda runs her operation. On one occasion where I did not stay for class the girls all came out with make up on. It was put on all the girls from the same tube of lipstick. This really grossed me out. Under no circumstance did ms lynda have my permission to do such an atrocious thing. I made sure I was present for the rest of her classes. Ms Lynda even told me that I was being unfair to the other girls. If it wasn't for my objection, she would have already put makeup on the girls several times. At least my objection stopped this unhygienic practice for a few months. Ms lynda also has random parents take children to the bathroom. One class, ms Lynda asked me to take a child to the bathroom, and I refused. to which ms lynda replied, "who needs a child saying you did something" So she is fine with a complete stranger to take the children to the bathroom? I was a stranger to the child, and I would not be comfortable with a stranger taking my child to the bathroom. I was not super pleased that I had to keep an eye on ms Lyndas interactions with my child, but as the parent I have that right. A right ms Lynda doesn't feel parents should have.

You pay for an hour of dance to sit and watch, no skills that are taught here. You can learn more by watching a dvd in the comfort of your own home. The teacher only cares about the paycheck not actually what she is hired for to teach the children. I do not recommend this studio for your children!!

First off I would like to say I absolutely love Rimview dance studio and Miss Lynda. I would like to address some of the false allegations made. 1. I was always encouraged as a parent to stay and watch rehearsals if I do wished. My child was taught proper form, posture, dance positions and MANNERS. I feel only one who is lacking manners would object to their child being encouraged to have them. 2. They do use one lipstick so all the girls match. They also use a different disposable applicator for each child that is never placed on afore mentioned lipstick more than once. 3. Miss Lynda is beyond kind and loving. My daughter had a complete melt down during rehearsals and Miss Lynda showed her love, kindness and patience. She spoke with my daughter with me and gave my daughter an open comfortable environment to speak her feelings. 4. She is anything but money hungry. I was terrible at paying on time simply because I would forget and she NEVER kept my child from dance. 5. The little girl who is in so many dances I s because SHE WORKS HARD! I do not know her or her mother other than from drop off and pick up at dance. To speak poorly on somebody who works hard and is dedicated is absurd. To do so about a child makes you more pathetic in my opinion. To question her parents financial situation is out of line. What they choose to spend their money is nobody’s concern. I know for a fact that they pay for all of her costumes and appropriate fees, not that it is anyone’s business. I am grateful we found Rimview and it was worth every dime and then some. My child loved her experience. Lydia was so sad that the season ended and will greatly miss it there. I suggest people focus on being positive examples to their children and spend less time needlessly and unjustly bashing upstanding people and businesses. Amanda Capron

This is my HONEST review! I am editing my review. Miss Lynda did finally get back to my sister after all these reviews and she said that she is going to make things right. Kudos to Miss Lynda however that doesn't change the lack of professionalism that Miss Lynda showed to my sister. I would NEVER recommend this place. I am glad that other people have had great experiences but what we have experienced has not been as pleasant. Here is my original review! My Niece went there and when my sister decided to pull her from Dance because she was not learning anything Miss Lynda thought it would be okay to hold my nieces photos that were taken until my sister paid for tuition. Mind you she pulled her daughter from this class so there is no need to pay for something that she is not going to do anymore. The photos have already been paid for but Miss Lynda refuses to give them to my sister. Instead of working all this out as a good business owner, she decides to ignore my sister. I would NEVER recommend this place!

Miss Lynda responded to me right away when I called for registration. My daughter LOVES her!! She asks every morning "Do I get to dance today?" Thank you so much for your professionalism and enthusiasm! As a side note- all of the negative reviews I have read seem to be from a family that are trying to ruin this business. When I checked their Google Review profiles, they have only reviewed one business. Makes you wonder what their true motives are for posting such terrible (and seemingly untrue) comments.

I (Kelsey) took dance classes from Miss Lynda and Miss Kary for a total of 15 years. When I started dance I had zero experience. Miss Lynda taught me the basics and then challenged me to be the best dancer possible! Her love for dance and her passion to teach helped me to become not only the best dancer I could be, but also a well rounded young lady. The relationships I formed with both Miss Lynda and Miss Kary during my time dancing for them is something I cherish very much! I also formed life long friendships with my fellow dancers.
