I LOVE dancing with this group! The Zumba for dancers classes rock. I get bored easily and love really high energy dance classes and workouts and this is one of the only places where I have found HIGH energy dancing! It's fun and casual and always a great group of people. CHECK IT OUT! Plus the studio where CKDC dances is wonderful - bright, spacious, fully stocked and just perfect all around.

After moving to St. Louis, I was unsure as to how dance would fit into my life. Luckily I stumbled across CKDC and was immediately hooked on the charismatic staff, innovative choreography, and the tight knit community among the faculty and clients. Taking class has been the perfect way to de-stress after a long day and being able to take class works as a strong motivator to get me through my hard days. I am so fortunate for everything that CKDC has provided me and am eager to see what the future holds!

Great place to take class as a working adult with a full schedule. Classes are weeknights and weekends at a level that's great for former dancers with experience. There are kids and beginning classes too but that is not what I was looking for. I wanted a challenge and this was great. They have welcoming atmosphere in a clean beautiful space.

I was surprised when my son told me that he wanted to take hip hop classes. I had trouble finding a studio that was clean and that took instruction for children seriously. After trying three other studios, I discovered Consuming Kinetics kids' classes, and now BOTH of my sons are regulars. When I mentioned that my seven year old was also interested in ballet, they established a boys' class. I am thrilled by the positive energy and attention to detail. My children love it and the rates are very reasonable, with a discount given for more than one student from a family and/or more than one class taken. They're also flexible in that we can go to per class payments on months where we're on vacation or unable to attend regularly.

Consuming kinetics dance company offers a variety of classes with really great instructors! I started dancing with them through a groupon offer and have never looked back. There are classes for all levels and the atmosphere is always fun but challenging. I would recommend CKDC to anyone!

I am a dance student at CKDC and I participate in Junior Company. I take a variety of dance classes including Afro-Jazz/Modern, Modern, Contemporary and Poms. I like studying at CKDC better than other places I studied because the classes are more contemporary and the teachers allow us to be more free. I didn't like how my old studio required a strict dress code and required us to wear bright makeup for performances. CKDC teachers don't encourage makeup, it's optional. They also provide us with costumes for the performances that are comfortable and allow us to dress however we like for classes. I love the friends that I made there and I feel like I belong at CKDC. I would recommend this studio to any student wanting to learn dance from a professional company. They are strict when they need to be, but the teachers are all very nice and welcoming.

Came before and returned forthe self defense class. Raii was great, I feel like I learned enough to be essential, but not so much that it was overwhelming. The class was just me and the owner, so we both got individual attention at our respective levels, and a good amount of cardio. My arms were burnt out at the end of class, and I learned a kick too. They also have capoiera and I'm excited to try that too. I'm just glad that since this was a dance studio, i didn't walk into am expert class, and both of my classes here have been manageable for non dancers.

CKDC is an STL gem. Their adult classes have given me the chance to continue learning and growing as a dancer within a beautiful and supportive community. I'm not sure where I would be today if I hadn't found them and I'm not sure where St. Louis would be either. The studio itself is beautiful and clean, all the instructors and staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and you definitely don't want to miss any of their professional dance concerts.

First time at CKDC was with a trial adult musical theater class and it was wonderful. The energy was great and everyone is the class built up a good sweat. It was so much fun I didnt even realize that I got a bunch of exercise. Jordan Woods does a phenomenal job and the studio founder Arica Brown is highly encouraging and personal. As long as you have some basic knowledge of footwork, you will be able to keep up with everything. The movements aren't difficult, I just fumbled a few of the steps. Such a welcoming environment!

CKDC offers the best adult dance classes in St.Louis. Hands down. The teachers are warm and supportive. The community of dancers in this space are caring and compassionate. And the choreography is always fresh and invigorating. The classes are drop-in friendly, too. Which means you can steal away from the bustle of adulting at your convenience to enjoy some time on the dance floor. Even if you have little to no dance background, you'll have a great time grooving to the beat with other grown folks in the Lou. It is the place to be!

I love this place! I kinda fell into it when I fell out of my old studio. I found this place way more friendly and the classes *** The Pop Ballet*** are super fun! The Staff is super nice and always positive. I love the pressure free feeling I get while I'm there like I don't have to be amazing to have a good class :)

As a 20-something adult with tons of dance experience, but being out of the game for awhile, I've been searching for a dance studio to get plugged back in to the dance world. I was so excited when I found Consuming Kinetics Dance Company and tried the Zumba and Ballet class. I brought a friend along with me who had zero dance experience. We both felt like we fit into the environment. The teachers and dancers were so welcoming and encouraging. I don't know how they accomplish it, but whether you have years of dance experience or are wanting to try dance for the first time--you will fit right in! I truly didn't think that a dance studio like this existed in the St. Louis area. I feel like I found a hidden treasure!

I dropped in for a hip hop class on Thursday and loved it!! So much fun! The front staff is extremely friendly too. The best part though is Three's in Motion class that my 3 yo daughter goes to. We pay per class and there's no commitment, so it's easy to work around our schedule. We go when we have time, and we don't lose money if we don't! Great place for mommy and daughter!

I love the sexy fitness class! It's lots of fun, challenging but in a good way! The cardio barre and beginning/intermediate ballet classes are great for those of us who have done ballet a long time ago as children. The flexibility class felt amazing and was actually pretty challenging! I'm excited to try the other courses :)

There's no place like CKDC. Not only is it a warm, welcoming, beautiful space for people of all ages to creatively express themselves through movement- it is also an organization with a huge heart. CKDC provides teaching experience, administrative roles, leadership positions, professional choreographic and performance experience, and more to local dancers. Founder Arica Brown is always looking out for her company artists, helping them seek employment around town to support their artistic endeavors. CKDC also provides many students from low-income families with FREE, well-rounded dance education...all year long. Many of CKDC's kids are on full scholarship, offering them a safe space to spend time after school (or during summer camp, enrichment activities from 9am-5pm M-F) CKDC is also a space for adults of all age and skill-levels to come together without judgment. CKDC is an inclusive, diverse community. It has become a second home for many, and I personally am so grateful to be a part of the CKDC family.

I have been taking classes (Zumba, Hip-Hop, Sexy Fitness, Jazz Funk) at Consuming Kinetics Dance Company for a few years, and can't say enough good things about this dance studio and its amazing instructors. The classes are fun, high calorie-burning, well-instructed, great workouts, while the instructors are highly energetic, motivating, engaging, welcoming and easy to follow (even for beginners). The studio is such a welcoming place that exudes a positive energy you can't help but envelop. My 4 year old daughters have been taking Threes In Motion and Tiny Dancers classes from CKDC for the past year, and I love that they have the opportunity to expend all their boundless energy and express their creative, artistic sides, while learning basic dance technique from some amazing instructors. I highly recommend Consuming Kinetics Dance Company for their dance and fitness classes for adults, as well as children. What a great place to dance your heart out and dance your cares away!

I decided to bring my mom to a dance class after years of her begging me to do so. It was wonderful. The staff at CKDC were not only welcoming to newcomers, but were adept in helping people of all skill levels enjoy themselves, and learn routines. I was the only male in the class (and perhaps in the building) but I felt very comfortable with the dance routines being taught, and truly enjoyed myself. I would sign up for classes soon before they get booked up! I would be a regular for sure. By far the best experience I have ever had with dance instructors.

My sons wanted to learn to dance and I researched a lot of dance schools and companies. One wasn’t clean. Another was more like a babysitter. Others were competitive and over priced. Consuming Kinetics strikes just the right balance. The owner, Arica Brown, is a young businesswoman who runs a solid non-profit. Her instructors are working artists whom she pays a fair wage. My sons got excellent instruction in a supportive environment. I can’t recommend this company enough.

CKDC's been a great place to take classes. I first took classes a little over a year ago - Contemporary and a hip-hop inspired Zumba class with Arica. They were both loads of fun, so I was excited when CKDC got its own place on Whittier. They've got very talented teachers, and a diverse range of classes for adults and kids. The company's performances are filled with inspiring contemporary choreography, wonderfully performed by the company members.

After a not so great meeting with the instructor, I decided against continuing with services. I requested a refund and was denied and told that I was not actually making a purchase, rather making a charitable donation to their 501c(3). The location is in the heart of one of STL's trouble zones and unfortunately this time, it serves as allusion to the character of those individuals who lead this 'charity'. After acknowledging that her employee needs to be retrained, I was later insulted for being an individual with a disability and told that the alternatives to a refund would be beneficial to "a person in my condition."

CKDC is most definitely the cream of the crop as far as dance studios go, in or out of the St. Louis area. Since I started classes there I have grown exponentially as a dancer! CKDC has become like family.
