Tom is the man! I took 5 lessons from him to learn how to swing, hustle, and merengue and I use these dance moves at the bar, club, weddings, or just hanging out with friends and it's so fun! He makes it easy to learn and remember. Great little ads to dance in as well.

Amazing teacher! I was always embarrassed to dance, even when hidden in the middle of a crowd in a dark room. After less than 2 months of lessons with Tom, I will confidently take my wife onto even an empty dance floor, regardless of who is watching! In looking for dancing lessons as a gift to my wife, we tried several different studios and teachers in the twin cities. After a lot of comparison, there was no contest: Tom Larson is, by far, the best teacher we met! He has a phenomenal approach that can make anyone comfortable and can totally eliminate any embarrassment (even if you have two left feet, like me). Tom started by understanding our goals and then based his lessons on what we wanted to learn. Then he quickly brought us to the point where we could can use what we learned by making us proficient and comfortable with basic, useful steps and moves. Then he built on that, refining our technique and adding skills as we were ready. Tom teaches not only "official" technique but also emphasized versatile variations to make these dances truly useful and fun! To my great surprise, we've enjoyed the lessons so much that, even after reaching our original goals, we are continuing to dance with Tom, learning more and more. What was once a source of embarrassment has become a great hobby and we have Tom to thank for that!

WOW WOW WOW! What an amazing experience this was! Tom is an excellent teacher! I can't say enough good things about him! I went to the studio with my now husband before our wedding to learn a fun dance for our first dance. I really wanted a fun dance and my husband just wanted to look like he had one right and one left foot. Tom blew us away. He worked at our pace. If we needed to rework things he did it until we felt comfortable. You can tell he really thinks about the dance even after you leave. He came to each lesson with more moves or different ideas to see what fit our personalities best. We took 5 lessons in the 3 weeks leading up to our wedding. I would have paid double for the great experience and style Tom gave us. Book your lesson with him NOW!! Seriously! You will not regret one penny!! :)

My husband and I went to Tom to prepare for our wedding first-dance. Tom not only made us feel prepared and confident going into our wedding dance, but he also taught us skills that can be used for any type of dancing in any setting. We actually attended 3 of our 5 lessons with my husband's parents, which was fun for all of us. I think all four of us were pretty nervous at our first lesson, but we quickly relaxed and let Tom lead the way. We all had a blast on our wedding day and our dances went perfectly! SO many people came up to us afterwards and said they were so impressed with our dancing skills and loved the fun elements and moves we sprinkled in. We can't recommend Tom enough, and will definitely call him the next time we have an event or want to learn a new style of dance. We highly recommend Tom for people of all skill levels! You will have a blast and leave feeling confident in your dancing skills.

Before going to this dance studio, my fiance and I would sway like middle schoolers at a dance whenever a slow song came on at an event we attended. After 3 weeks of lessons with Tom, I want to actively seek opportunities to go out dancing. He has made learning so much fun and coaches us to be confident in what we do so that we are comfortable with dancing. After only 5 hours of lessons, Tom was able to teach us an incredible amount and help put together our first dance! Short review: Tom is great, go here. Long review: We had a great experience with Tom and his dance studio. My wife and I took 5 lessons with Tom to make our first dance a bit more special at our wedding. Tom took the time to listen to what we wanted, what we were comfortable with, and he was able to help put something together that would improve our first dance. During our first dance, I'll admit that we did miss a move. However, Tom stressed to us that if this happened, KEEP GOING, and a lot of the people at our wedding didn't even notice we slipped up. We both highly recommend Tom for anybody that is looking to make their first dance more special,

My husband and I absolutely LOVED our ‘first dance’ lessons with Tom. We did 6 private lessons in total and felt so confident and happy to perform our first dance for our family and friends. Tom will not waste one minute of your time. He cues amazing instruction, has a lovely energy and brings so much fun and life to your lesson. I honestly can’t say one bad thing about him or his technique. He has it down! We loved his quaint studio too. I have taken dance lessons at several different studios. I decided to take lessons from Tom based on his Reviews which are excellent. After the first lesson I knew I was in the hands of a Master Teacher. Tom is brilliant and tailors his instruction to each individual's needs. It is incredible to watch him in action and to see how quickly one can progress with little or no dancing experience. While Tom is interested in assisting individuals to learn dance, he is even more interested in each person. Tom makes dance enjoyable and makes individuals confidant that they can dance. If you want to dance, but don't know where to begin...be sure to start here! I can't recommend Tom highly enough.

My husband and I took private dance lessons with Tom to prepare for our first dance as a married couple at our wedding last November (2015). Tom is a wonderful instructor! We had no prior dance experience, but over 6 sessions he helped us choreograph a great first dance to the song of our choice. We received so many compliments from our guests, and we love watching the video footage from our special day! While Tom helped us wow our guests at our wedding exactly as we wanted, he also taught us enough core dance moves to be able to enjoy moving to any other song. Since our wedding last November we have used our dance skills on many other occasions (weddings, parties, vacation, etc.) We love how comfortable we are dancing together now, and definitely recommend Tom and his studio!

My husband and I took dance lessons prior to our wedding to learn a first dance. We had just a few weeks before our wedding and ended up with a dance that far exceeded both of our expectations. Tom is the best instructor ever!!! He is able to individualize the lesson and is so flexible. Not only were the lessons fun and a great time to spend together in the midst of wedding planning, but we learned a lot about our relationship through the lessons and grew closer as a result! Before our first lesson, my husband was very resistant to go to dance lessons, but I could tell early in our first lesson that he was really enjoying it. I came to our first lesson with lofty goals and essentially envisioned our dance to look like something from Dancing with the Stars. Tom was able to accommodate both of our styles and create the perfect dance for us that had that flare I was looking for and stayed within my husband's comfort zone. :) We cannot thank Tom enough for the fun memories of our first dance and everything we learned about the amazing and surprising parallels of our growth together dancing and in our relationship!

We signed up for dance lessons with the hopes of having a semi-entertaining first dance as my husband and I have each have two left feet and we left with a elegant and beautiful first dance and moves for the years to come! Our lessons were personal and fun and Tom even went out of his way to stay late with us one night! He really does have a customer first attitude and you can really see his passion for dance. I've been meaning to write this review for nearly a year, but better late than never! Tom was an incredible instructor. He genuinely wanted to make mine and my husband's first dance at our wedding special and perfect. We were both pretty new to dancing, and he did a fantastic job explaining the moves to us and giving us helpful critiques. The moves were clever, easy to learn and so much fun! Tom always spent a little extra time with us to make sure we had the dance down comfortably. Our first dance was one of my favorite parts of our wedding and I was so proud to be able to show it off for our family and friends! I highly recommend Tom!!

Tom was an awesome teacher leading up to our wedding! My husband was borderline on even having a first dance he was so nervous, so we decided to take lessons. Tom was able to teach us skills that gave us confidence to dance alone in front of our wedding guests. We had our wedding on May 28th this year, As it was getting closer to the wedding, I almost gave up the idea of having a nice first dance, But my husband encouraged me to have a try when it was only 2 weeks away from the wedding. we found Tom's studio, at first we showed him a video that we liked, then he said what moves we like from the video, we said we like most of it considering the dance is somewhat complicated. he didn't say anything like' it is impossible in 2 weeks'. but started teaching and choreographing with us, after 2 lessons we felt very good about completing the whole dance in another 2 lessons, we admired his passion and talent on dancing and teaching, after 4 lessons, we finished the whole dance and I still couldn't believe how graceful my husband was when he dances after Tom's advises considering my husband had very little dancing experience. Tom is a kind of teacher who sometime forgets the time, I remember one of the lesson, he stayed almost another half an hour for free in addition to the normal class duration just so we can complete as much as possible. within 11 hours( we practiced ourselves for 6 hours in addition to the 5 hours with him). our guest were so amazed how beautiful the dance was! thank you Tom, you are the best dance teacher I have ever had!!

Tom prepared my husband for the Father-Daughter dance for our daughter's wedding. He had never taken dance lessons and Tom made it so simple with some basic moves that could be used in any song. He even accommodated us in a lesson with the bride and groom when they were able to be here a month before their wedding. On their wedding day, the dances were the perfect way to start the party.
