I highly recommend Shannon O'Brien School of Dance for anyone looking to enroll their child in dance classes!! I danced as a recreational dancer at SOSD for 10 years. Shannon, Julie, and every other staff member always made me feel welcome. It was so much fun to be a dancer in this school, I've gone back to volunteer during recital weekend for the last 5 years. It is something I always look forward to and I love to see the beautiful, smiling faces of every dancer.

Love this dance studio. I was at a studio for two years with my daughter prior to this dance school... and what a huge difference. Both of my girls absolutely love their teachers and love coming to dance. They are professional but personable and you will discover shortly after signing up and getting a little involved , that you are suddenly apart of the sosd family and there is a great bond. There is a lot of love shared amongst teachers, dancers and parents.

Fundamentals are the focus at SOSD. Learning ballet is important to understanding dance theory. Old standards are often used for the musical arrangements. The costumes and dance routines are tasteful for the age of the dancer... SOSD keeps it classy.

Do NOT bring your kids here. They will screw you and offer a makeshift apology. All was well and good until the dress rehersal/recital. I am a single father, I had to find two women to inconvience because they REQUIRE a female be backstage with my daughter for both different dates. Now I have to buy an ADDITIONAL ticket for me to go, because the $75 ticket was for the "mom". So right now I am $300 deep and I still have to break out the wallet again to go. No mention of this previously either. Grab your ankles and smile!

My daughter began at this studio to try dance out. She absolutely loves it. The staff all know her name when she walks into the studio. They include everyone in the recital even the smallest children. I have recommended this to others and will continue to so.

I have seen this studio from every side; as a dancer, member of the staff, backstage crew, audience member, and will be shortly seeing it as a parent of a dancer. In every way this studio is run professionally, but most importantly by caring owners and staff. I cannot recommend this studio enough! If you want a high quality dance education, kindhearted teachers, life-long friends for your children, and an experience that is more like family, then you have found the right place!
