Best place in Boston to send your child to dance! They also put on the best end of the year recital that I've seen. All of the teachers are excellent.

This is an excellent dance program for children and teens. The teachers are caring, knowledgeable, and inspiring. The program is unusually flexible: for teens who are serious about dance (~10 or more hours a week) there is an intensive program,, but others can take just a few classes.

Just wrapped up another year at Mass Motion Dance Boston, and am reminded, as always, why my high school and middle school daughters have called Mass Motion their dance home since they were 5. The quality and taste of the production, dedication of the faculty, and strength of the community are showcased at the recital, but present in every class. The faculty manage to maintain a strong focus on technique and still give the kids room to be who they are without an over abundance of rules. They provide the right mix of freedom, support, and rigor to foster a love of dance! And with so many types of dance offered -- tap, ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and Irish Step -- every child can find something up love.

I have left voice mail after voicemail. Have been calling usually twice a week for the last month. It is July 22,2019. I have been trying to put my daughter in a dance class but no one seems to be answering. I have even gone in person and there seems to be no one there. Not sure if it’s because it is actually closed; there are no signs saying they are on vacation . Nothing

Our daughter has been dancing at Mass Motion for four years and she loves it. The teachers are amazing and the studio is truly a community. The recitals are incredible and the kids (and parents) look forward to them all year! They have all levels of dance, from recreational to intensive, and all forms of dance. Mass motion Boston is the best dance studio around! My daughter started at age 4 taking a class once a week for 1.5 hrs that included jazz/ballet/tap .This combination approach allows young girls to fall in love with dance as they get exposed to different forms of dance . Now my daughter dances intensively at Mass Motion and she loves it ; not only has dance become a passion for her but Mass Motion has become her second family away from home . No other dance studio provides such a great community feel while fostering a love for dance ! Finally , the recitals are AMAZING!!!

Mass Motion is more than a studio. It's really a wonderful community of dancers and their families. The owners, managers and teachers are incredibly dedicated and talented -- and my daughter (now in the Intensive Program but started out at 6 in a child hip hop class) has become such a strong, well-rounded and passionate dancer under their wing. The end of year show and their Nutcracker holiday performance are really special events.

My daughter is in the intensive program. It is very challenging, especially since she has never before danced seriously, but the program is incredibly rewarding for her. She is learning many different dance styles (not just ballet, like so many other studios) and she loves the teachers. Their Nutcracker was so well done and creative; the kids loved doing it and it is a testament to how much children in the program can develop as dancers.

My children have danced here for the last 13 years. Not only have they learned so much in terms of dance technique, they have learned discipline, self-control, time management and have so many opportunities to perform and hone their craft. They started in the child classes and have moved into the intensive programs and it has been so worthwhile. They’ve developed great lifelong friendships. I recommend it for anyone looking to dance, either recreationally or in the intensive program. Their recitals can’t be beat—it’s a theatrical production that will blow you away year after year.

This place is a complete rip off. They will take your deposit then you would not hear from them them. There is no way to confirm the start date because they never answer their phones, when even messages are left. They will take your deposit then tell you they don't provide transportation, even though it clearly says they do on their website. Then when you ask for a refund they will deny you, even though a service was never provided. This company is a fraud...beware!
