A great studio with friendly instructors and activities throughout the week! I'd recommend checking this place out for any beginner to advanced dancer looking to do some ballroom dancing!

Every staff member is a delight. The students are fun and engaged and all clearly love to learn. Everyone is endlessly encouraging and engaging, and there is a strong sense of community, one that eagerly welcomes new people. I can't help but smile everytime I walk in the door!

From the very first moment I walked into the Arthur Murray Cambridge studio, I was hooked. Kia and Christian greeted me warmly and made me feel very welcomed. For several months I had been wanting to try ballroom dancing and when I noticed that a studio had opened up close to work, I thought I would give it a try. I'm so glad I did!! From someone who is a bit on the timid side, I was a little bit hesitant to actually get myself to commit to going. But once I did, I never looked back. The group classes are a great way to practice all the new skills you will learn in your private lessons as well as a way to meet new and amazing people. The space alone is so beautiful with gorgeous chandeliers and lots of natural light. I feel challenged just enough and love the interaction I have with my instructor. I am motivated to push myself out of my comfort zone and I have the support of all the astounding and talented instructors in the studio to help me achieve all of my dancing goals. Whether you're a couple looking for that perfect first dance at your wedding or you're someone who is looking for a fun new hobby and to meet new friends, this is the place to do just that!!!!

I was looking for a place that taught Argentine Tango and luckily I stumbled up on Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Cambridge MA. I received a warm welcome and a friendly, thorough explanation of the program and I began immediately. I started learning Argentine Tango along with other dances and believe it or not, after about 5 months, I performed a routine in front of a large crowd - something I never thought I would be able to do. The encouragement and knowledge along with plenty of details provided by my instructors made the whole journey worthwhile. I can't wait to learn more and elevate my ability even further. I'm even thinking about competing - another thing I never thought I would be able to do. A big thank you to all of the wonderful instructors at Arthur Murray in Cambridge MA.

If you've ever wanted to learn ballroom dancing, now may be the time, and this is definitely the place! I was very nervous to actually commit to taking my first steps on the floor after years of watching others, both in my family and on Dancing with the Stars. Three months ago, I signed up for my first free lesson at Arthur Murray Cambridge and it has been the best thing I have ever done for myself. I know that my positive experience has been because of the expertise and warmth of the instructors, Kia, Kate and Christian, and because of the close community they are creating in a beautiful new studio near the Alewife T Station. The structure of the program has been fine-tuned for decades and it is designed to take you from right where you are to the level of performance you desire, no matter if you feel challenged by moving to music or have a natural sense of rhythm. It has really worked for me. As someone who has felt challenged learning physical skills, I have felt remarkably comfortable with the pace of the lessons. In fact, I feel so excited each time, the 45 minutes seems to go way too fast. The combination of private lessons, group classes and practice nights is fantastic. Enrolling in a private lesson allows you to attend all of the other weekly events at your level as part of the package. I signed up by myself, so I take private lessons with my instructor, Christian, but I also have fun with Kate and Kia in the group classes and on practice nights. They make it so safe to get out there and try, even if you are just beginning. I love the people at this studio! I've quickly gotten to know many others in the same boat--folks of all ages, shapes and sizes, in it together--figuring it out and steadily gaining confidence and skill. You get a hefty workout while learning to look great on the dance floor. You can do this! Come and join the supportive, growing community at Arthur Murray Cambridge.

I have been dancing with the Arthur Murray Family for 6 1/2 years. I started at the Boston Studio and decided to try the Cambridge Studio as I work in Cambridge. I knew many of the staff and know what a great team they are;Kia, Christian, Nancy, Doreen, and my instructor, Rubin. After all of these years, Rubin has taught me many new techniques. The Cambridge studio gives me a different outlook on my dancing. It is bright, cheery and you always feel welcome when you arrive. I have a very stressful job and my dancing is not only my passion and my exercise but when I leave the studio I have left my stress behind and enjoyed my time dancing.

I've never had the courage to learn ballroom dancing till now - I have no sense for rhythm, not to mention my balance - just embarrassing! One day I just decided to walk into the dance center and check it. The best first consultation ever!!! To be honest, it took me a while to feel comfortable - a lot of new faces, everybody was dancing amazingly well and I doubted I could become part of the gang... But Arthur Murray Cambridge has the best dancing instructors in the whole world: great people, great dancers, but even greater teachers!!! Everybody was really nice and incredibly patient with me! Now I love spending time at the dance center: I am still not good, but I am getting better after every class and I am so proud of myself. Dancing has already a very special part in my heart and it gives me enorm amount of energy in the daily routine. I have no words to thank everybody but most specially my personal instructor Dave for encouraging me! You are amazing! To everybody who concider starting dancing at Arthur Murray Dance Center of Cambridge: Just do it! You will never regret it!

Great studio and staff in a convenient location (lots of parking and right next to the Alewife T station). I had started taking Salsa & Bachata lessons at an Arthur Murray in California and when I moved to Boston I was worried I wouldn't be able to find a studio I liked as much. Luckily I was wrong! Annie is a great dancer and teacher. She is both encouraging but also genuine in her feedback helping me improve and also have lots of fun doing it. The rest of the staff are also very helpful, professional and friendly and make every trip there a worthwhile experience.

I've been with Arthur Murray Cambridge for the last four months, and I couldn't be happier! Three reasons it's so awesome: it is a great place for beginners, it has a terrific community, and the teachers are wonderful. Before Arthur Murray, my formal dance training extended to little more than an hour's training in gym class so that I, and all my friends, could have a dance with our parents for 8th grade graduation. Thus, I was mildly afraid of embarrassing myself when I walked in the door. And sure enough, I've lost track of how many times I've stepped on my partner's toes, messed up a fancy hairstyle, and even socked my partner on the nose! So here's the first thing I love about Arthur Murray - all of that clumsiness is forgiven (or so I think). It's a place where you can be comfortable learning and don't need to worry about being a beginner or having your inner klutz ruin things for you. I realize I originally said that Arthur Murray has a terrific community, but that is only half the truth. It is also an open, yet close-knit and supportive, family. Now, a lot of places like to say they are a "family," but Arthur Murray is one of those few gems where the term actually fits. The other students here are the first part of this family. Everyone here is so welcoming that the Thursday evening parties, where everyone gets together to dance, are as much about dancing as getting to know everyone else. Some of the dancers who've been with Arthur Murray for a while even talk about how the experience has completely changed their social circles. The studio's teachers are the second part of this family, and they are amazing!!! You will largely work one-on-one with a specific teacher and then choose some (free) group classes to supplement your learning. This system ultimately gives you flexibility for your busy schedule and makes sure you get the individual attention you need to make good progress. The teachers are all professional and experienced and will design a personalized regimen for you to meet your own goals. I have especially enjoyed developing a relationship with my own teacher, and I've found that this relationship makes lessons more enjoyable and productive. As I said - I couldn't be happier!

I seen an ad on Facebook to come in for a complimentary lesson and loved it so much I enrolled in lessons. All the instructors have been wonderful. I have learned a lot in only 8 lessons so far. So excited to keep learning!

This studio is absolutely wonderful. I didn't know what to expect when I came in because my dance experience was rather sparse. However, I found that the staff are extremely friendly, welcoming, helpful, and talented as dancers, and above all they know how to teach. Steps are broken down clearly for beginners while advanced students get just the training they need to polish their skills. The way these instructors teach, the dances are easy to learn and pleasant to practice. The general atmosphere among both instructors and students is positive and fun. There are plenty of dance parties held for both practice and enjoyment. People of all types and all ages come in to shake off their day and do something delightful. Many endorphins are released.

My husband and I went to the Arthur Murray Cambridge location to prepare for our first dance at our wedding. We had a great experience taking 6 classes over the course of 6 weeks before our wedding. Catherine was our instructor and did an awesome job of making both of us feel comfortable and choreographing a dance for us based on our song choice. She also worked well with our different skill levels - my husband is more of a natural dancer than I am but Catherine was able to cater to both of our levels at a good pace. We really liked that we got feedback not only from Catherine but also other instructors and the owner of the studio too. We were both nervous about taking dance lessons prior to our first visit but the staff made it a really fun experience. Would definitely this studio!

I started dancing again after many years out because of how excellent Arthur Murray Cambridge is. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Can't say enough great things about this place, the excellent instructors and the people, your fellow students, you'll meet and come to enjoy. Came here on a whim about 6 months ago intending to be around maybe 1. But the intellectual and physical challenge of dance, the quality of instruction and the warm and FUN community will keep me here for a long while. The studio, which is conveniently located, offers individualized lessons in all the social dances suited to your schedule and skill level, many free group lessons, and a practice party every Thursday evening where you can strut your stuff. You can become good enough to compete in ballroom dance if that is your goal. Did I say it is FUN? It is! You'll laugh much, smile always and meet some extraordinary people. Highly recommended. It will change your life for the better. Now don't you want that?

One of the teachers and franchisee at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Cambridge, Ms Kia Kenney.... she was my first teacher! I met her in a chance social event and was intrigued by the thought of taking lessons. Well, now it is my passion. I ballroom dance about 3-5 times per week. At AM you can take lessons, attend group lessons and get involved in a social world of like great, minded people. At every lesson I learn, she meets me with a smile and gives just the right encouragement... to make it all fun. I sometimes wonder what I'd be doing in my life now if I'd not found ballroom dancing. My children are grown and living in LA. I also want to say that I have gone elsewhere, but the quality of the teachers, the teaching and the entire experience at AM is second to none. You feel so welcome every time. Also, their system of teaching is proven. They teach in a tiered method, growing your dancing at the right time and speed. They know what they are doing and it shows. Love it.

When we moved to Cambridge there was no Arthur Murray studio nearby. So when we saw one open up, we jumped at the chance to get back into dancing. I think my wife and I were couple number 3 at the Arthur Murray Cambridge Studio and it has been a thrill to see how the AM Cambridge family has grown, students and instructors alike. All the instructors are amazing and it is always fun to catch up with fellow students. The individual classes are great and we laugh a lot. The group classes are always fun and the Saturday boot camps are a blast. My wife and I work long hours, and she commutes 100 miles each day, but we wouldn’t miss our mid-week and Saturday lessons for anything. It is too easy to forget to have a date night. This is our date night. And as I saw another reviewer mention, dancing is a great, low impact work out. And your posture well get better too! We are still working on mine….and working…and working.

Jenna Colton

I highly recommend Arthur Murray Dance Center to help you learn to dance effortlessly on your wedding night! They are highly knowledgeable, patient, and fun people to work with. Initially, I was nervous to dance with my fiancé as he appeared to have two left feet. However, after a few lessons with Tristan, we felt so much more confident with our ability to dance as a couple. Tristan choreographed our first dance and it is absolutely beautiful. We are very excited to dance on our wedding night!

My husband and I thought we were going to take a few lessons to learn to dance at our daughter's wedding, and we stayed on because we loved being part of the whole community! Evening at the studio is the most welcoming part of our day--we eagerly look forward to going to classes, lessons and dancing events, where we learn, practice and socialize with others. The teachers are great at breaking down hard (at least for us!) steps, and always helpful--even when we are just practicing, one of them might come over and say "try it like this" and give us the key pointer to make it fall into place, and then they celebrate that success with us. I can't say enough about how well the teachers have created a safe place to be awkward, and quickly move us from novice into the community of "learners"--which is a spectrum everyone is on.

I love dancing at Arthur Murray Cambridge. I dance with Kia primarily. I like dancing at the studio for several reasons. Most importantly, Kia has set up a program for me that is really catered to my learning style and my goals. I dance socially and competitively. The atmosphere is really suited for both. I enjoy the events and parties and I like the opportunity to practice in a relaxed setting, but I also have taking lessons with guest coaches from around the world who are part of the Arthur Murray community. I even took a lesson in Kyoto, Japan last summer. It exposes me to world champions and greatly improves my dancing. Dancing is my passion and I think Arthur Murray Cambridge is a wonderful place to pursue that passion.

This studio is a great, welcoming place to start a new hobby! The instructors are helpful, informative, and care about their students and their learning experiences. The studio is lively, clean, and wonderfully decorated. This is the place to start dancing! Staff works to customize a plan for you budget, schedule and dancing goals. Try it! You won't be disappointed!

Eliza Hatch

I knew that learning to dance for my wedding was going to be important. I didn't realize how much FUN it would be! We are really enjoying learning not just our wedding dance but many other dances that served us well as wedding guests already this year!

Casey Cooper

This is an amazing studio - the space is modern and clean, the staff are skilled, fun, and professional, and the students here create a great community. I came looking for a short break from my boring gym routine, but I’ve stayed now for years. They think of all the details to make learning, performing, and competing a great experience all around. Highly recommend it.

I can't begin to tell you how much I love dancing and the fact that now I am taking lessons! The AM studio is Cambridge is beautiful and Kia, Kate and Christian could not be nicer! For me it's a great way to relieve stress and learn the steps to dances. I have met such nice people and can't wait to go to a wedding and dance the night away. I think we all have a hidden dancer in us. Thank you Kia, Kate and Christian for making it all possible. Can't wait for my next lesson!

My husband and I began our dance lessons because both of our daughters were going to be married in the summer. Two weddings in eight weeks! We knew that lots of dancing would be involved and needed to up our game. From our first encounter with Arthur Murray in Cambridge, we were treated wonderfully. All of the dance instructors are exceptional. There is no judgment, they just let you know the next thing to work on and encourage your improvement. Our instructors, Dave and Kiersten, have helped us to become good social dancers and we are very thankful for all of the instructors who have helped us in group lessons. It's now months after the wedding and we enjoy it so much we keep coming back! Thank you Arthur Murray Dance Center of Cambridge!

My friend brought me to one of the “Wine and Dance” guest parties at Arthur Murray Cambridge Dance Center and the rest is history. I got immediately hooked on dance and the energy of this place. What makes Arthur Murray Cambridge stand out is the people. The team of instructors is truly remarkable. Not only are they all incredibly talented and inspiring dancers but also super encouraging, positive and patient teachers and they tailor the program to your individual needs, desires and goals. The positive energy of Arthur Murray Cambridge is contagious. The moment you step inside you get greeted by a bunch of smiles and all the stress of the day somehow melts away. I have only been a member for a few weeks but I can no longer imagine my life without this place.

One of the newest and shiniest dance studios in the Boston area, AMDC is a welcoming home away from home. Kia, the owner, and Christian, one of the main dance instructors are a great addition to this area of town, near the Fresh Pond mall area. I used to go to the Boston location, but it was too far for me. Christian always has a great lesson plan and follows through with my requests. They provide weekly Dance parties and I simply feel welcomed every time I arrive. Oh and my dancing is improving daily. I feel comfortable dancing now that I have regained my confidence on the dance floor!

trevor collins

Great studio very clean and all the instructors and staff always very pleasant and very supportive. Could not ask for a better place to dance and have some of the best group of people. Thanks to all of them.

Ting Guo

Very friendly staffs and lots of fun.

Trailblazer

Great place to learn to dance! Very friendly and lots of activities. The lessons are expensive but they have additional classes you can attend and there is a practice dance party every week. If you attend the extra stuff then you will get your money's worth! There are some amazing teachers here and they are very patience teachers. There is good diversity here too in the students and teachers.

I HIGHLY recommend this for date night! My husband and I found this place when we went to the Summer Shack for dinner and have have been hooked ever since! We've taken group lessons at other venues in the past, but they've never really interested my husband--which meant I never got to dance. At Arthur Murray Cambridge you do have to sign up for private lessons but they are SO much more enjoyable and rewarding, and the instructors really work to make the lessons fun as well as tailoring them personally--my husband found he is a salsa lover and we've worked with our instructors to build up our repertoire together. Another plus is that group lessons and practice parties are included, as well as some outrageously rocking parties which I thought we'd never get to do after having kids. The best part is my husband and I get to work on something fun together just the two of us. Can't recommend this place enough! You will never have another boring date night again!!!!

Arthur Murray Cambridge offers a welcoming environment with a friendly and knowledgable staff who will happily tailor your program to your wants/needs, whether that be something special for upcoming nuptials, social dancing, or, as in my case, high level Pro-Am competition within the international Arthur Murray circuit. As a result, the students form a thriving and supportive community of people of all different ages and backgrounds, who come together outside of their private lessons for regularly offered group classes and social dance opportunities. I’ve been dancing here for almost two years now after switching from a different studio, and I’m incredibly excited to continue to do so after having recently chosen to remain in the Boston area post-graduation solely for this purpose!

My Wife and I initially arrived at Arthur Murray Dance Center in full on panic mode as we had less than a week before our upcoming wedding and first dance. Not knowing what to expect, we looked up Dance Schools near us and found Arthur Murray. We signed up for their beginner's package and they were extremely flexible in scheduling our classes around our extremely tight schedule. After completing our beginner's package we were able to dance our first dance at our wedding with confidence, and with a little style. Overall, I would definitely recommend Arthur Murray.

Kylie McCarthy

My husband and I have had so much fun dancing at Arthur Murray Dance Center in Cambridge! We went from being a couple who didn't even dance at weddings to dancing in our kitchen every night with music blasting. When I hear a beat now, I get the itch to step into frame with him and rumba! Our instructors are amazing--we work with Annie and Dave. They have different styles and because we get to take advantage of team teaching we get good multiple perspectives and fresh eyes on things we're working on. The parties and community around learning to dance have been a big surprise and even though it is a bit nerve-wracking to start social dancing with only 4 1/2 months under our belts, we're doing it. If you want a great date multiple times a week THIS is exactly what you're looking for. Push your brain and your body in new ways and have so much fun being a couple together learning something off the wall. The studio is beautiful. Everyone who works there is so nice. There is plenty of parking. Love, love, love.

I first came to Arthur Murray Cambridge thinking that it would be a fun thing to do for the summer so that I could keep up with the people in my life who dance without completely embarrassing myself. I was quickly enamored with the positive environment, and found myself genuinely loving both the group and private lessons. I find that I’m enjoying learning a new skill, and am becoming much more confident in my dancing ability than I ever expected! It’s definitely thanks to the wonderful teaching staff at Arthur Murray Cambridge, who are amazingly talented at making me comfortable with being pushed out of my comfort zone. I feel like every teacher is genuinely invested in my dance education and experience, not just meeting the bare requirements based on what I paid for. Every time I leave the studio I’ve learned something new and feel more confident. Also, it’s just plain fun!

I had wanted to try ballroom dancing for a long time. While I danced growing up, it had been years since any formal training and watching shows like DWTS and SYTYCD was making me eager to try something new. I wanted something fun to do and be a nice change from my days in a stressful work environment. I had researched various studios, not really sure what I was looking for. What caught my eye about Arthur Murray Cambridge were the positive reviews. And they were not just positive; they were ALL amazing 5 star reviews! Since the first class was free, I figured, why not? I am so happy that I decided to give this a try. The instructors are incredible! They could not be nicer and are so helpful and fun! I love them! They want to know your dance goals and help you achieve them. With a combination of private sessions, group classes, and practice parties, I feel like I have already learned so much and improved in such a short time. In addition to the instructors, the community of fellow dancers at Arthur Murray Cambridge is so welcoming and supportive. I look forward to dancing each day and leave with a smile on my face. If anyone is considering trying ballroom dancing, I highly recommend trying Arthur Murray Cambridge!

Jo Qiao

Very friendly stuff and knowledgeable instructors. It’s a fun atmosphere but you also gain skills over time. I’ve been here over two years and would highly recommend you checking this place out if you are looking for a new skill or just want to have some fun dancing!

Angie Joala

Saw that they were having an open house and thought "why not?".. and never left! Kia and the crew really have a way of making you feel both at home and also like a star. No experience necessary! They will make a dancer out of you, all whilst you have the time of your life. Watching Kia and Christian do the Waltz together is the most inspiring thing I've ever witnessed- it was at that moment that I knew that I had to stick around and see what I can do for myself. I am making my way through the Bronze track and have been pleasantly surprised by the progress I've made, all within a few months! Keep up the great work, and a huge shout out to the rest of the dance crew, you are all fantastic and light up my day when I come in to the studio.

My fiancée and I started dancing at Aurthur Murray Dance Center Cambridge about a month and a half ago and all ready we feel like we are permanent members of the family. Everyone is so warm and inviting and not just the instructors but the fellow students as well! We take lessons from Lance primarily but we frequently learn from all the other instructors as well. I love that when ever the studio is open we can go and dance and the group classes and practice parties are just as much fun as lessons are.

Juwina Wijaya

When we found out there is a dance studio in our neighborhood, we jumped on the Wine & Dance event where we got a taste of the friendly and awesome Arthur Murray instructors and community. We feel so welcomed and we couldn't wait for our private and group lessons. The private lesson allows us to hone in on the specifics while the group class serves as a great overview for the steps and techniques of ballroom dances. We love being able to track our progress learning the different dances (there's a whole binder just for you!) and to get additional insights through scheduled progress checks. Special shout out to Mady & Dave for making learning difficult steps, uncomfortable frames, and all the nuances of ballroom dancing super fun! Highly recommend this studio to anyone considering learning ballroom dance!

Nate Banfield

I had an excellent experience taking classes at the Arthur Murray Dance Center in Cambridge, and I highly recommend the studio to anyone looking to learn to dance. I was first given a free introductory lesson, and I felt very comfortable right away. My instructor, Kia, helped me figure out how a five class session could help me accomplish my goals of learning several new dance styles, such as salsa, waltz and tango, and feeling more comfortable on the dance floor. I was given helpful guidance in a fun and lighthearted atmosphere, and found myself learning the moves very quickly under Kia's friendly tutelage. I even was able to bring in my own music and learn how to dance to it! In addition to private lessons, I was also able to attend many of the practice parties, which provided an opportunity for me to dance with fellow students, and to learn to dance with a variety of partners. The parties were accompanied by lovely snacks and drinks, and felt festive and fun. Really, they were very much an extension of the warm and welcoming atmosphere that the dance center provides. Kia and Arthur Murray gave me the skills and confidence that I wanted when I first entered the studio, and I will put putting these assets to good use on the dance floor soon. If you are interested in learning some basics of dance, or in improving your abilities, you will be well served by checking out this up and coming Cambridge studio.

I can't say more positive things about the staff and experience my husband and I have had so far at Arthur Murray! We took dance lessons with Kia for our first dance at our wedding this February and had an absolute blast! The staff are not only personable and professional but because of their talent and an super hero like teaching skills, our first dance came out beyond what we could have imagined!!! We are continuing our dance lessons and look forward to learning different styles of dancing all while having an amazing time together! I can't say thank you enough Kia for making our first dance look straight out of a Disney movie. I truly felt like a Disney princess on that day! Sincerely, Nikki Molina

Emily Sellman

Loved learning our first dance for our wedding at Arthur Murray Cambridge. Catherine was wonderful. We had a total of 4 dance lessons to make our dream a reality. We learned the dance moves and choreographed with Catherine. Thanks for this great experience!

isaac mwangiwanyoike

According to the reviews, it's a good place to stay.

Elaine Cilley

My husband and I enrolled in 9 lessons before our wedding so that we could be comfortable and ready for our first dance at our wedding. The staff at Arthur Murray were fantastic. Annie was so wonderful and immediately put us at ease during our lessons. We liked it so much that we are going to be coming back for more lessons in the future. One note that doesn’t impact my rating but should be mentioned is that if you are not 100% sure that you want to sign up for dance lessons, I wouldn’t recommend going in for the first “trial” lesson. They are a little pushy when trying to get you to sign up and it’s very sales-y. However! Once you get in to the actual lessons, it is such a wonderful place and we are so excited to continue learning to dance.
