REVIEWS OF Arthur Murray Dance Centers Naperville IN Illinois

Arthur Murray Naperville

I wrote a review of this place a few years ago and just needed to come back and write another. Arthur Murray Dance school in Naperville,il. is hands down the best place to take dance lessons in chicagoland. My wife and I have taken lessons with the wonderful instructors for years and have had the most amazing time. Talking about only one of the instructors is doing this studio a disservice. Every instructor is part of a highly trained team of professional, well educated, gifted, motivating instructors. When you walk in the doors at Arthur Murray Naperville you become an important piece of the family they have created. The owner of the studio James Dutton has brought together an incredible team to create a wonderful environment to learn and grow at any stage of your dancing. We have been taking lessons for several years and plan on continuing for many more to come. We Love Arthur Murray Naperville. Hope we see you as part of this amazing family soon!!!! See you on the dance floor!!!!

James and Kelly have a magical way of combining dance instruction with lots of fun and making you feel like a part of the family from the moment you walk in. This magic transcends throughout the studio and their instructors. They know their stuff and make each private lesson, group class, guest party, regular Friday night party, field trip, festival and special event more fun than a barrel of dance instructors! The demonstrations by James, Kelly and all their instructors are amazing, too. The studio can get pretty wacky at times, but that’s what brings us back. It’s really pretty simple. If you want to learn to dance and have fun at the same time, come to Arthur Murray! Vicki and I did . . . and I can’t imagine going anywhere else! I don’t see any end in sight! Check out their staff below. Dom is the guy at the front desk! He is a nice, friendly guy and he gives everyone a warm welcome to everyone when they step inside. He does the things behind the scenes that the students take for granted. Whether it’s signing in students when they forget, making the front entry presentable, arranging furniture, collecting student fees, tracking student points during festival, etc, etc, etc, he gets it all done. Oh, yeah, he’s been known to step out on the dance floor once in awhile, too. So, ladies, you may find yourself dancing with him at a Friday night party. Amy is the high priestess of dance! She can dance AND instruct! That’s what it takes to teach someone like me who came to the studio knowing zero about dancing. We are so glad that Amy is our lead instructor. She has a special way of explaining and demonstrating a step or a grouping so that I can understand it and she won’t hesitate to pull in other instructors if she believes it will help us grow as dancers. She is amazing on the dance floor and it is truly a delight to be her student. She is a treasure! Jillian is a “giant” when it comes to dance and teaching. Her group classes are always a potpourri of professionalism, skill and clear instructions. She does her students a favor by insisting that they have great posture when they dance -- which leads to a great look on the dance floor. So, does Jillian know what she’s doing when it comes to dance? “Heck yeah” she does!! Luke knows his way around the dance floor AND he can teach you to find your way as well. He’s a smooth operator when it comes to Foxtrot and Waltz AND he can spice it up with the Salsa and the Rumba. The bottom line is that Luke can teach you whatever dance you want to learn. He gives lots of real-life examples and great advice that quickly help his students understand the step or the grouping. He’s given me some advice during a private lesson or two and it has stuck. It’s funny how I can be out on the dance floor and a tip from Luke will pop into my mind. I definitely watch Luke when he’s out on the dance floor and try to emulate his moves. Luke’s the man!!! So, you wanna to learn to dance? Let me suggest Houston . . . and I don’t mean the city. Sure, it’s a nice place, and they have Arthur Murray too, but I’m talkin’ about Arthur Murray’s instructor named Houston right here in Naperville! I’ve had a private lesson or two and many group classes with him. Houston can do all the dances AND he’s great at them. I especially like to watch him do the Bachata and Salsa. When I watch him, I just wanna to learn more. Nick is the new guy on the Arthur Murray scene. But, don’t let that fool ya’. He knows what he’s doing and you definitely get your money’s worth. In his group classes, he encourages his students to work hard to get the step and the styling just right. I’ve never been particularly interested in the Tango. But, during one of his private lessons and a couple of his group classes, he explained and demonstrated a few Tango moves and now I’m hooked on Tango. Psst . . . he’s good!

I started taking ballroom dance lessons at the Naperville Arthur Murray studio almost four years years ago, and I can not begin to tell you how much fun it is. James, Kelly and my amazing instructor Amy, and all the staff there make it fun and instructional. I now have the confidence to dance on any dance floor! I highly recommend taking ballroom dance lessons, especially at Naperville Arthur Murray.

Naperville AM is an amazing studio w/great instructors & fellow students. I have never felt more welcome than I do walking into this studio. Rather it be for socializing, learning a dance for a wedding or just exercise, it is an amazing experience. The owner & employees put so much effort into making everyone feel so welcome. Learning to dance is one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. At first, I just wanted to get more exercise and lose some weight doing something that would keep me interested and motivated enough to stick with it. It wasn’t long before I was sure that ballroom dancing is the answer and that there is no better place than Arthur Murray – Naperville to do it. Dancing is so much fun and the results so amazing that I can’t imagine not sticking with it! In my first 6 months I lost 20 pounds and 2 dress sizes – without dieting, calorie counting, or starvation – just dancing and having fun with some wonderful people! As time goes on, dancing is making me stronger and healthier, happier and more out-going. Terrific instructors and the Arthur Murray program of private lessons, group classes, parties and events create a friendly, happy dance community. I’m so proud and happy to be a part of it. You should check it out for yourself.

If you're looking for that final piece of motivation: stop reading these reviews and get your introductory lesson scheduled! If you prefer a full-fledged testimonial: read on! Before I started my lessons at Arthur Murray, Naperville, I spent far more time than necessary weighing the pros and cons of learning ballroom dancing. What I didn't know from my time spent reading reviews and comparing studios was how easy it was to get into. After I finally made the decision to schedule an introductory lesson, I haven't looked back. Shortly after entering some basic information about my interests and intentions, I received a call from Jillian, my instructor. She took the time to discover what I wanted out of my eventual lessons, if I had any events coming up I was planning for, and taught me all about what they have to offer at Arthur Murray, Naperville. Two days later, I was learning to dance in my very first lesson, ever. When they tell you anyone can dance, they mean it. When they say you can dance after one lesson, you better believe they mean that, too! (Seriously, I was practicing the steps I had just learned all the way to my car). What I'm most fond of from this whole experience, though, has to be the community involvement. Not only will you have private lessons for some one-on-one, but you're also encouraged to attend free group classes with other instructors. These classes teach a multitude of dances and variations to take with you to your private lessons. You'll have the opportunity to meet and dance with the other amazing students here, all of whom are incredibly patient with new members, walking you through any unsure steps (and trust me, I had many!) But that's why we all go to Arthur Murray, Naperville... to learn to dance! So whether you're coming alone or with a partner; planning for an event or just looking for something to do; whether you're new or seasoned, you'll find your second home here dancing with Jillian or another incredibly talented instructor among a truly involved and passionate community of students. So again: stop reading, and start dancing!

I contacted Arthur Murray about wanting to learn to dance competivily back in Jan. 2016 as a bucket list goal. The person who contacted me back was super encouraging and warm, and made me feel right at home. All of the instructors are always welcoming. They make an effort to get to know you and create a dance program designed according to your desired goals. All of the staff members love what they are doing and it shows. The environment is casual enough to get to know and dance with other teachers and students in classes, and professional enough to allow you to feel comfortable learning and growing with your instructor. I work with Luke, and I look forward to his energy and investment in guiding me in practice while teaching me new things. He makes class feel fun and exciting. Sometimes, because we are having so much fun, or become focused on a lesson, I forget that I'm actually getting fit while I dance. If you go to Friday parties or are around on occasions when James is there, be ready to joke and learn advanced techniques quickly and in quirky fun ways. It's clear that he knows how to recruit and retain talent because he loves dancing as much as they do. Deciding to take ballroom dance classes has helped me feel more confident and provided me with entertainment during the work week that make my weekends seem boring in comparison. I highly recommend this studio.

My husband and I worked with Jenny in order to prepare for our first dance as husband and wife at our wedding. We were both very nervous as we did not know what to expect and are quite novice when it comes to dancing. Jenny made the lesson so much fun! We were so comfortable and confident after just a few lessons. She really helped us choreograph our dance to make it special.

Absolutely best dance studio. All the teachers are extremely friendly and talented. Each dance lesson is tailored to your interests and abilities. They truly make you feel like you are a part of their family.

Learning to dance can be very intimidating and embarrassing, so when I got the courage to walk into Arthur Murray a few months ago, I was grateful to find a team of professional dancers that are passionate about making you into the dancer you wish to become. I had only planned to learn a few dances for a few weeks, but the passion and energy that my dance instructor Jenny has for her profession, inspired me to become the best dancer I could be. I’ve also had the opportunity to learn from the other dance instructors, like Brianna who has been wonderful to work with. She’s not only an amazing dancer but she explains things in a way that beginners like me can understand and is one of my biggest chearleaders on my dancing journey :) I am now learning to dance everything from Foxtrot to Rumba to Cha Cha, and loving every moment :) They not only offer private lessons but group classes that give you the opportunity to dance with a variety of students at different skill levels. From day one, all of the students I’ve met are friendly and supportive and have become good friends. On Friday's there is a practice party where you’ll be able to practice what you have learned with other students, all while having the instructors near by to help you. To sum it up, if you’re looking for a great place to learn to dance and a supportive community of dancers, then this is your place!

If you are looking to start dancing and explore the world of Ballroom, then I highly recommend coming here. The atmosphere and people are absolutely wonderful and you'll never have a day where you don't learn something new. If you are looking for a fun exercise, a boost in confidence, or simply a new hobby, Arthur Murray Naperville is the place to be. For me, it was meant to be just a one time thing; just to dip my feet in the water, now it's a passion that I cannot wait to dive in deeper in to.

Dancing with the Stars My wife and I became students of the Naperville Arthur Murray Dance Studio in February, 2013. Since that time I have shared some of what goes on at the studio with a number of people unfamiliar with the Arthur Murray studios. Their response is always the same. "When will we see you 'Dancing With The Stars?'" I would usually say something such as, 'Not anytime soon. Besides, it is not the reason we are taking dancing lessons. We are doing it because it is great exercise. It is physically and mentally challenging and the staff and students are the most positive people to be around.' Quite frankly, I do not believe we have watched any more than 15 minutes of DWTS in all the time the program has been produced. Yet, the question persists. It is a question which is emblematic of an ailment in our society. Why must anything we do be judged or measured by whether we reach some mass media entertainment forum? Is it not enough to find something you enjoy doing for the sake of doing it? One imagines if there were a television show called, 'Climbing With the Mountaineers' and someone said they were going to Denver, the question would be asked, 'Will we see you on CWTM?' I realized I now have an answer to the question. In the last week my wife and I have danced with Amy, Luke, Jillian, Alfonso, Chris, Megan, Rachel, Donovan, and many of the students at the Naperville Arthur Murray Studio. I can unequivocally say, ' We are ALREADY Dancing With The Stars.' You can too.
