Alma Dance School is one of the best schools we have found so far. The teachers are very professional and possess high technical skill. They combine the classical style with the modern one which makes them unique. The "Simply Classic" performance at MAC Theater was spectacular and beautifully choreographed. I highly recommend this school.

Alma Dance School is the best place for students of all ages to learn the art of ballet. Vilma and Guillermo are dedicated to helping each student succeed and they give dancers the tools and instruction to develop a mastery of ballet technique and become inspiring artists. They work to motivate a students to achieve her best and to be hungry for continual improvement. Alma Dance School is a rare type of ballet school-one created to pass on the joy and artistry of ballet in a caring and supportive environment by devoted, professional directors. Guillermo and Vilma's commitment to supporting their community and providing opportunities for children of all abilities to dance in their professional productions is one of the many beautiful unique aspects of their school. I’m excited to see how Alma will continue to grow and develop at its new location in Glen Ellyn. Alma Dance School truly excels in providing quality instruction to each and every student. Vilma and Guillermo use their years of ballet training and experience to emphasize every aspect of what it takes to be a ballerina. My daughter is just finishing the summer intensive dance program and she loves it. She feels that she is studying with professionals who know what it takes to be successful in the world of dance. She recently switched from a different studio to Alma, and the difference has been amazing. The results in her performance and confidence have been well worth it. I only wish we made the switch sooner!

My daughter has been at Alma Dance School for about 2 years. She originally came from another studio were she competed in Highland Scottish Dance. My daughter began taking lessons at Alma as a supplement to her Highland with the intention to strengthen her competitive dancing. Very early on in her lessons, both my daughter and I, were drawn to the focus on technique that both Vilma and Guillermo placed on all their dancers. Our family shared the same approach and philosophy as Alma on what dance should be. My daughter wanted to make the switch from Highland to ballet because of the level of dance she was being exposed to. In just two short years, I have seen a huge improvement in my daughter’s dance. Her passion is evident. She loves ballet and the challenges Alma places on her. She craves that challenge. This school is for the serious child willing to work hard and make the commitment. The family must be supportive as well and must be able to make a commitment to class and rehearsal times. This school is not for the faint of heart, this is not a school for the “dabbler “. It is a serious dance school for serious dance students on the professional track. I am a professional dancer and dance teacher. I own my own dance studio. I am impressed with the quality of program and feel strongly this is the best program in the suburbs. It is an outstanding program with two qualified and professional dancers as the owners and instructors. The owners have a wealth if knowledge and have danced professionally. They are nurturing teachers who genuinely love their art, teaching it, and working with children. They are patient and caring. My daughter loves going to class and loves ballet because she has two teachers that have cultivated her passion. Alma is a gem in the western suburbs.

Best studio in the Western suburbs! Our friend's daughter has danced since she was in grade school. It wasn't until she started dancing with Alma Dance School that she found the high level of instruction she was searching for, with students and instructors whose incredible enthusiasm for dance matched hers. The instructors foster a supportive environment for the dancers which has helped her reach the level of dance that she had dreamed of achieving. At Alma Dance School their daughter was given the opportunity to perform with professional ballet dancers as she prepared to audition for college-level dance programs. To me it says a lot about a place when after a dancer goes off to dance in college, she continues to come back to offer support to the studio during her school breaks. This is the place for students who want to achieve their dance dreams!

Vilma and Guillermo have really built a home for those interested in ballet. From the experience of a friend, the studio is both professional and personal, with efforts towards community outreach as well. The program focuses heavily on personal growth and is the perfect place to begin developing a long-term passion for ballet.

Our daughter is currently 9 years old. She has been attending Alma for almost 2 years now. Prior to Alma, she attenended two dance schools locally where we began to discover that her interest in ballet went beyond what these schools could offer her. She is now in level one in the pre-professional dance division at Alma. She has enjoyed the discipline, performance opportunities, strength, form and positioning that only Vilma and Guerillmo could provide. We are so blessed to find Alma Dance School. Additionally, they are right around the corner from where we live! She has had the pleasure of performing in the Nutcracker, and now Simply Classic to be performed at the “Mac” theatre at College of Dupage on June 2nd. She enjoys Guerillmo’s humor :) and Vilma’s talent! As we are a family of 5 we feel blessed for their flexibility and care for us. We look forward to seeing where our daughter will go with Alma!❤️

This is my daughter's third year at Alma, and as a former dancer myself, I am so delighted to have access to such a wonderful program with two phenomenal directors right here in Wheaton. Guillermo and Vilma's passion and dedication is evident in every aspect of the school, from the technique of their students to their beautiful theater performances. One of things that makes Alma unique is that it offers two divisions, one for pre-professional students training towards a career in ballet, and another for students who aren't planning to dance professionally, but who love dance and want to take classes regularly. I'm very grateful that when my daughter gets to the point where she has to decide how serious she wants to be, it's not an all or nothing decision. She can keep dancing and performing even without being in the rigorous pre-professional division. But if she does decide to pursue it seriously, she's in certainly in right place to get the best training!
