This is the only place where I know that does Live Music Performance and aromatherapy during Nadia's Aloha Live Yoga classes. Also love Andrea's Belly dance classes and Noe's Tahitian classes, a great workout for my core and abs. Maui Yoga Shala is a vibrant community with students, teachers, and staff hanging out together in a friendly environment. You can always run over next door to get fresh coconuts and fruit juices anytime. Really close to Paia town and the beach. Pretty relaxing place ;)

Jai Ma the Yoga Shala is an amazing spot. The teachers are friendly and helpful. There's a nice energy in and around the studio which makes it especially welcoming. Plus there are a wide variety of styles and a fun environment!!

The yoga teacher training here at the Maui Yoga Shala was amazing! We learned so much in this 3 week intensive course. Karin and Nadia are both amazing, knowledgable teachers who took us under their wings and shared their beautiful skills. We learned so much anatomy and how to safely get into poses as well as regression and progression of each pose. Questions You Should Be Asking Yourself

My experience with Nadia and all of her staff and students at Maui Yoga and Dance Shala has been nothing short of heavenly...I instantly felt at home, appreciating everyones openness, flexibility, kindness, support and friendship on every occasion...Finding a space like this, where everyone just flows, and loves, not only one another but what they are doing here, should be a more common occurrence in our society today. The Shala offers such a beautiful and accessible array of classes on a daily basis, that making classes regularly is easy and effortless. There truly is magic in this place....if you slow down, breath deep, observe your surroundings and remain present and thankful in your experience, there is no way that you won't have the pleasure of experiencing it. It's no wonder this treasure that we call Maui Yoga and Dance Shala is alive and thriving on a continual basis. I for one am thankful for it everyday...you will be too. Namaste.

Love this Shala! By far the best vibes in Maui. Nadia's Sunday morning Aloha Maui Yoga was a mix of classic yoga and her own style. I left feeling like I got a great work out and was super relaxed. I love the environment at Maui Yoga Shala. Everyone is so friendly and kind. The teachers are authentic and professional, there is a clear dedication to the yoga tradition. There is an incredible boutique outside studio A, with beautiful yoga clothing and special jewels. Sometime they hold classes in the out door patio, which is the best! You can practice outside, listening to the fountains and birds around out. There are beautifully painted murals all over the shala, it is all quite charming. Come see for yourself, you will love it!

Yoga Shala was a warm and inviting place. The staff was welcoming upon the first encounter and the class was full of mindfulness and wisdom. Very welcoming vibe, and super helpful staff. John was knowledgeable, had great adaptations and accommodations, and good verbal cues. I was at first disappointed that the instructor for the Saturday morning class changed, but now would go back specifically for John's classes. His background in kinesiology definitely informed his practise and the class. Highly recommended.

The thing about yoga is that every teacher is different... and it's easy to get into routines... I could tell that the teacher was passionate about the practice but I am used to a different style. I expected a bit more personal attention seeing that it was a class of four students but the teacher seemed more interested in being a student himself. I think there were issues with the schedule as the class started 20 minutes late and was eventually lead by someone different than what the site said.

I highly recommend anyone who is looking to complete their 200 hours and get certified to becoming a yoga instructor. Nadia Toraman is truly an inspirational, amazing woman. Nadia is such a kind, open-hearted,beautiful soul. She opens her door to anyone seeking their highest potential, spiritual growth, and yogi pathway. After class I would stroll down Baldwin Beach, and submerse myself into the refreshing Pacific Ocean <3 All of the teachers here are incredibly talented and passionate about what they do. Karin is one of the most gifted, knowledgable, delightful teachers, who I spent most of my time learning philosophy, mythology, anatomy, and authentic spiritual teachings. Shakta is a friendly, wise, big-hearted chanting and meditation teacher, who showed me how to create peace (Shanti) into my practice, but most of all my life. Sarah Callaham is highly active, fun yoga, pilatates instructor who taught our group of trainees correct alignment, and structure to our yoga poses and to our posture. From the moment I arrived, everyone at the Maui Yoga Shala went out of their way to make me feel like I was part of the family. A beautiful, quiet studio with a whole lot of heart and soul! There are classes with live music. The big studio has a good sound system and air flow, unlike other studios in Paia. I also like that the schedule and teacher roster is consistent. Easy parking and comfortable bathrooms. Cool cafe "Island Fresh" is right next door with post practice smoothies and cold coconut water!

Maui Yoga Shala is an incredibly unique experience! I immediately felt at home when i entered the space. I walked into the boutique area before class and checked out some of the apparel while i waited for practice to start and the collection is very stylish ranging from super yogi to super beachy! The hang out area is very welcoming with 2 sofas made of cozy pillows and water readily available. Nadia and her buddy Roscoe (her super friendly pup) immediately acknowledged me showing interest in where i was traveling from and the type of practice that i enjoy. She is not only the owner of this amazing little yogi haven, she also conducts multiple classes a day. Her class was exactly what i needed - a balance of heart racing core strength mixed in with hamstring and hip openers with live acoustic music!! super blissful :) there was no escaping breaking a sweat in this class - and its not even the hot yoga room!! i am so happy that i was able to find this amazing place to practice while in Maui!! I was also lucky enough to catch a live acoustic music set at the studio after hours! - it turns out, the studio also supports local talent by booking intimate shows here! what a treat! :) if you are a devoted, traveling yogi, this is the place to practice in Maui!! Say hi to Nadia for me!! :)

The Shala is a sacred & welcoming place that surely feels like home for anyone who comes about. I completed my 200 hour YTT in April of this year, guided by wonderful & supportive teachers with a plethora of knowledge on all things yoga, anatomy, etc. The program itself was life changingly beautiful and coordinated well, with a very intimate & personal approach. It unified the sacred practice of yoga and the Hawaiian culture so perfectly in their compliments. The staff feel like family & the variety in the classes and teachers are vast, leaving options for all tastes. I loved this space! My week pass was a perfect deal for my north shore stay. The teachers were great. There are a couple studios, an outdoor practice space, and a cafe. They had clean mat rentals and everything any beginner like me would ever need. Everyone made me feel very welcomed.

Maui Yoga Shala is an amazing studio. They have such a variety of classes ranging from Yin to Vinyasa Flow. You are sure to find a class to suite your needs. They even offer dance classes catering to children and adults. There is also an excellent massage therapist and waxing available on site! Above all else the atmosphere at the Maui Yoga Shala makes you feel at home. With lounge couches and smiling faces greeting you...it's easy to spend hours here! I tried a few classes there and loved it! I tried Nadia's class the first time. She is an amazing teacher. Highly experienced, been teaching for over 20 years. It felt like a complete practice. As i practice Ashtanga back home. She started slow, getting our breath in order. Then it got a bit intense sweaty asanas. It has all the elements you are looking for in a yoga class. She is very knowledgable and makes the class fun. With her magical goddess vibes! Felt stronger when I walked out of the class. I also tried Tara's infra red yoga, it was hot and sweaty! I had tried a few classes of hot yoga before. But her energy levels are amazing.She takes you through this journey and gives you a good work out! Hollon's happy hour flow was a fun class.With some cool music! Do yoga or just dance...:) Uplifting vinyasa class. Definitely a place where I would like to practice.

I attended the Feb. 2015 200 hour teacher training. Nadia along with the rest of the staff welcomed me with their warm aloha spirit. The 3 week training was mostly taught by Karin Kuhn and morning practicum with Nadia. Karin has a true passion for yoga and it absolutely shows in her teaching. She has a way with articulating and explaining the curriculum that you can easily connect to and make sense of. The training was intense physically and mentally each day but all the course content was engaging and applicable. Attending the Maui Aloha classes with Nadia each morning was a wonderful way to start the day. You can feel her positive spirit and loving heart. Her knowledge and experience shine through in her classes. I spent a decent amount of time outside of class each night studying & doing homework. That being said, if you would like to see and do things on the Island set extra time aside after the training is completed to explore. The accommodations were amazing with plenty of space for all the trainees in the house. The house was also in a great location to easily walk to the studio and Paia town. I really enjoyed my training and feel that I got an outstanding education here. I had an awesome experience and made lifelong friends as well.

I just took Nadia’s Maui Aloha yoga class at Maui Yoga Shala in Paia. It was amazing! One of the best classes I’ve ever taken. The instructors are lovely and well-practiced professionals who seem to care about you as a person, not just making money. The buildings and surrounding area itself have lovely scenery as well.
