I have four children they’ve all taken gymnastics at one point in their lives so we’ve been to a few gyms and by far this is the best gym with the best coaches. If you are looking for a gym that is very well organized, has great communication with amazing coaches who are friendly, then this is where you want to be. When you get there you’ll notice that it isn’t a very large gym but the space is utilized perfectly. And the small size lends itself to individual attention. The coaches remember each gymnast’s strengths and weaknesses and it shows by the way they modify for each child. Also, the coaches move your child to the next level when they are ready so no waiting for evaluations at the end of the quarter. My daughter is on the Manakoa competition team and she loves it. The girls are pushed to reach their potential but know that even when getting criticized their emotional and physical well being are at the forefront. Coaches help to foster a strong sense of family. The girls really root for each other in practice and during competition. They want their friends to succeed just as much as they want to succeed themselves. Our daughter has gained so much through this experience. Her teachers have asked where she found her new confidence. She changed from constantly doubting herself to becoming a leader who tells her classmates that they can do anything they put their minds to. She is no longer the child finding a place in the background and she is always excited to learn something new herself. We’re pretty sure all of that stems from being at Manakoa.

We were looking for a place to do some lessons for our daughter while visiting from out of state. The coach here was patient, friendly and quickly bonded with our little one for her lessons. She gave lots of good pointers and plenty of feedback we can use at home. I've been to a lot of gyms and you cannot find better coaching or a better environment. How do you know if you or your kid is being coached well? Unfortunately, it's hard to tell unless you are already an expert. Here are two things to look for. 1) Look for a coach who has a fantastic attitude. Gymnastics is difficult and when things don't go well, you want a coach who can smile and keep you moving in the right direction and with the right attitude. 2) Find a coach who is always prepared and knows every progression for every skill. Every step in gymnastics should be just a wee bit more challenging than the last so that over time you'll find yourself doing moves that at first seemed impossible. Look no further if you want a coach with a fantastic attitude and really deep knowledge of the sport and how it can be learned safely and with minimal risk of injury.

A group of us workout twice a week with Coach Sarah. Even as a group we still get a lot of personal attention. We are always laughing which makes exercising fun and keeps us coming back for more. My daughter had a taste of gymnastics through a Girl Scouts badge series hosted by Manakoa Gymnastics. I signed her up thinking that the experience would open her eyes to a new sport and give her the opportunity to meet other girls. Never did I imagine that she would absolutely fall in love with gymnastics after just four classes. The Manakoa coaches felt that my daughter had great potential and were so encouraging and supportive from the very beginning. In fact, it was their positivity and nurturing approach to this sport that really sealed the deal for us. Within the past 5 months, I have seen tremendous growth in my child both physically and emotionally. She has made huge strides in her confidence and I really must credit the coaching at Manakoa Gymnastics. The coaches are nurturing, caring and so smart! My kids have learned ALOT here and come so very far! My son has learned so much on the male apparatus! I also love how they encourage teamwork and cheering each other on! The education lessons are also a very loved bonus!! We tried other gyms but this was definitely the one for us!

My daughter did 2 classes and 2 private lessons at Manakoa Gym while we were on vacation from Australia and loved it! Cynthia was very easy to deal with on email when I organised the classes and then I was very impressed with the gym upon arrival. Coach Sarah was lovely and my daughter enjoyed her as a coach. It was a very easy process to organise and even though levels are slightly different in Australia, the gym worked well with her and were exactly what she needed. Highly recommend, thank you!
