I had the great experience of working for Malia, being photographer for the past two years at Hawaii Belly Dance Convention. Malia is an extremely talented performer, and I love watching her dance! Her dancers are also fun and great to watch as well. I highly recommend seeing her perform, or taking a belly dance class from her!

I have had the most wonderful experience dancing with Malia. I’m new to belly dance, at the end of my first 6-week session, and have fallen in love with it. Malia is very knowledgeable and has a deep passion for her craft. She is fun loving and energetic and will put you at ease while learning. As for belly dancing itself - Learning how to love and embrace the female body, feminine energy and sensuality all while getting a full body work is top takeaway from this for me. It is equally challenging and liberating to show your curves while also physically learning to adapt to flexible movements - my two faves being the belly roll and the maya (hip roll) so far. If you’re not down with showing your belly, that’s okay too. Wear what makes you comfortable, and practice the traditional moves or modified versions that Malia also teaches. Her class is very inclusive. You will be so happy you took lessons from her =)

The members of Belly Dancer’s in Paradise are a joy to see! Each dancer has a unique presence and demonstrates their passion for the art. Malia is one of my favorite performers and I have witnessed her and Belly Dancers in Paradise, at many different venues, totally “Wow!” the crowd. If you are interested in trying belly dance, Malia’s classes are fantastic! The belly dance workout is exhilarating and so much fun that the time flies by. Malia makes the class accessible to the beginner and challenges those ready for more. I am always amazed at her creativity and ability to teach so many different levels while ensuring we all have fun! The community she develops through her classes, creates even more incentive to show up and shimmy. Malia’s classes cultivate an environment of empowerment, acceptance, and Aloha.
