Ricky was incredibly accomodating. My fiancé and I used Groupon to schedule a class for our 3 day vacation. Unfortunately, we showed up to an intermediate session (Fridays ). We were definitely beginners so Ricky scheduled a private session with us for the next day to teach us salsa. Beginners classes are in Mondays and Wednesdays normally FYI. He is an excellent instructor and we enjoyed every minute of our learning experience. Go here! Best bang for your buck!

I recently moved to South Beach, and I decided that it was finally time to check off an item that had been languishing on my bucket list for way too long: learning salsa /bachata. I figured, when in Rome..... I found Ricky's studio online and really enjoyed it : he is always professional and you can see that he puts his heart and soul into it. I happen to like his style: personable, very respectful, but beware, his enthusiasm is guaranteed to rub off on you!! .The classes are fun, and you can definitely cover a lot of ground within a short amount of time, if you so choose. Within a few weeks I was already feeling confident enough to go to evening dancing events and have lots of fun with it. I now visit the local venues regularly, my social life has expanded, I have met many great people who also like to dance salsa and bachata, and I later found out that Ricky is a well known and well respected figure in the salsa and bachata world in South Florida, and has been teaching it for quite a good number of years. I feel like I unwittingly hit the jackpot. Also, I love being able to easily walk to his studio, the location is great, very central in South Beach.

Probably the best place to learn Salsa and Bachata in Miami! The whole studio is very welcoming and friendly. Ricky offers classes for people of all different levels (Beginners, intermediate, etc.). Ricky has incredible patience for his students, and it's always fun to take his classes. If you want to enjoy learning real salsa and bachata, Ricky's studio is definitely your go-to.

I was down in Miami for a bachelor party and decided to take a couple of private classes via Salsa Central. Ricky helped set up a couple of private on2 lessons with Joanna and sent me some Miami dance scene tips ("Club Tropical" up in Hallendale Beach has an awesome social every other Saturday night 10pm-2am. I would highly recommend it for on2/NYC style dancing and music.) My teacher Joanna was fantastic and helped get me back up to speed after nearly 10 years of no dancing. The room we used was clean, very A/C'd and the floors were a bit "fast" - overall a great space! If I am ever back in Miami I will certainly be taking some privates at Salsa Central again!

Ricky is such a great teacher! I had taken a couple classes in Miami over the years with different teachers, but I never stuck with salsa because those teachers never excited me. Ricky, on the other hand, has an amazing personality that makes you feel totally comfortable about learning with him. Many of the other regulars in class were pretty fun, too. Class quickly became a highlight of my week, and one of the saddest parts of me moving away from Miami was that I'd no longer have his class to look forward to. I definitely encourage everyone to try! Practical advice: don't park in the building's parking lot or you will get towed; you have to park on the street. Also, class is held on the second floor of the bank of america building. To get inside and upstairs at night, you have to use the door in the back and take the elevator to the second floor. :-)

I was only in Miami a week, but I wanted to make sure I got some salsa lessons and dancing in while I was there. I was staying in South Beach, so this school was in a convenient location for me. But I'm so glad I got to go here! I did private salsa lessons with Ricky, and he was great! I already had a pretty good level of salsa, but Ricky found some things he thought would be good to work on. You can learn so much from him, and he's always happy and helpful and never makes you feel bad. He also teaches group lessons and says he loves teaching beginners, so whether you've got a high level of salsa or are just starting, he'll make sure to find a way that you're dancing better when you leave. :) Definitely recommend!

I had a lot of fun and it was a great environment all friendly and sweet people . I enjoyed the bachata class a lot . But in salsa class the instructor had me stuck on the side to practice moves I already know with a beginner guy (I think he had to do that to balance the number of guys and girls )I felt awkward about saying I don’t want to be stuck in the corner practicing moves I already know with one of the beginners . But I have been practicing salsa for 2 years and it wasn’t fair that I wasn’t enjoying dancing with the big group and had to be on the side practicing moves in a small group with a beginner .I honestly felt singled out And didn’t enjoy the salsa class at all . I wanted to go back but I’m afraid it’s going to happen again ,so I won’t .

Me and my wife had a great time. The instructor, Ricky, was very patient and an easy to follow teacher. I came into the class with no knowledge of how to dance salsa and by the time the class was over i wanted the music to keep playing so i could keep dancing. This was an awesome experience for us and the other students there too. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
