Great price, great equipment....but dirty. I have been complaining about sewer moths in the men's showers for months now, to no avail. All it takes is for some clorox to be poured down the drains. The gym overall is just not clean, but what can one expect for the low monthly cost? Still, the sewer moths are over the top. Easy fix. JUST DO IT!

Facility is okay for the most part but has some serious issues with policy's. They charged my card every month for 33 months without my noticing after I had cancelled my membership. When I contact them to inquire about the charges I was told their system did indeed show that I hadn't been there in over 33 months but there was nothing they could do about the $700+ they had taken from me over that time. The manager Matt refused to talk with me or to do anything about the situation. Basically Matt left off the impression of "O well". Definitely not a stand up manager with professional ethics, which reflects drastically on the business itself. Desk associate was very kind but manager needs drastic help with customer relations.

If I could rate this gym a FAT ZERO, I would. These guys will belittle you because you’re just not one of the “bros”. I use to work for this location years ago. Yet here I am, 3 years later finding out that someone by the name CHAD BUTTON forged my signature and re-wrote me up for a plan that stacked up a HUGE debt collector bill. Which I received a short few months ago. I now owe $500+ because of this gyms scandalous employees!!!! Hope you enjoyed that bonus bro.

Random $50 charge the month after I tried to cancel my membership. I went in to cancel before moving out of state, only to continue getting charged. They want a mailed in letter, in 2019, to cancel. They threatened to send me to collections if I stop payment on my card and "ruin my credit over a gym membership" unprofessional and unreasonable to deal with. Do yourself a huge favor and find a more transparent and honest gym.

I go to the intense and very instructional group classes that the personal trainers Ben and Jimmy host every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I have never been so challenged physically while also getting very good feedback as far as proper form etc. Great people, great environment, tons of equipment could not ask for anything better!!!

I'm very disappointed. I've been there only twice since I joined earlier this month. Both times I attempted the stationary bike which halfway through the workout started tracking all over again from scratch--I had not stopped pedaling nor done anything to cause this. They said they would tag the machine, but they said that the last time too. Also, don't expect that there will be anyone to help you with anything unless you pay for an expensive trainer which is what they push--there is no one to help you at all.

If you're looking for a gym you can't beat crunch. They have state of the art equipment for any kind of work out yonewu want to get done. Always clean and employees ready to help. The new manager Johnny has great customer service went to him with a situation and he handled it in the most professional manner. He never lost composer,stayed positive and resolved the issue. He is definitely a plus at Crunch and hope he stays around for awhile. If you are looking for a gym membership you can't go wrong with Crunch.

Be Carfull when you sign up. I asked Daniel who was working behind the counter that day if there was a contract or any extra fees and he straight up said there will be nothing extra just $10 a month for just the gym on bee ridge or $20 a month for all the gyms in the country except 2 Gyms. Of course it turned out to be a total lie when I tried to cancel, they charged me $43 on my credit card and put me in a 3 month contract. I spoke to john who is the manger there and he flat out said sorry there’s nothing I can do about it. It’s sad how they go so far out the way to lie to their customers just to get you to sign up. Make sure they don’t screw you over like they did to me. Their a bunch of crooks that work there and I wouldn’t be surprised if they train them to lie to their customers just to get you signed up.

I've been member to numerous fitness centers all my life and Crunch is and always will be the gym of my choice! Affordable, great locations and the staff are always there to greet me with a smile! More specifically, I recently did a training session with a very fit gentleman named James Maverick. Not only was it one of the most beneficial sessions I've ever had with a trainer, but his hands-on and interactive approach toward my session really helped me get the results I'm after. I have never had a trainer SO INVOLVED in and with my session- I promise you- WELL worth it! Overall, Crunch gym is an all around AWESOME place to transform yourself! So now that you are convinced, stop reading this and go sign up- your body will thank you for it!:)

I had gone to the Crunch University for a job interview. The manager at the time, KELLEN had interviewed me and told me there were no positions available at that club but there were some on Bee Ridge. Told me to check them out. Okay, fair enough. I go to the Bee Ridge location and I get interviewed by the manager there and he had agreed to bring me on board! Got my information, social and License. He had even sent me the onboarding process through my email to finish the onboarding. Unfortunately, he ends up leaving this location a little after he was gonna give me a shot. What happens next? KELLEN, from University gets switched to this location, and what happens? He made me go through the whole process of reapplying and keep in mind Kellen already knew who I was & did the whole interview with me, after I had already been lead to believe that I was gonna get a position there. Not only was I interviewed again but I was waiting for Kellen and the bigger manager AL to interview me. Which it took them over an hour to see me. (Even after they said be there by 10 Am sharp. I was there by 9:45 and didn’t meet wih them till 11 ish) I guess their time is more valuable to them. Furthermore, both KELLEN & AL had said that the manager before him shouldn't have done that right on the spot (hire me) , etc. (KEEP IN MIND THEY DIDN’T EVEN HAVE MY APPLICATION IN FRONT OF THEM. THEY COULDN’T “FIND IT.”) I don't see how they couldn't compensate for something a previous manager had promised me. Unfortunately, shortly after the final interview, they told me he was gonna let me know within the next few days if I made it or not. Also, they said they didn’t even have like 20 hours to handout... okay, but there are loads of “Full time positions available” from what I see on their pages. Days pass. Then a week. I wait. I try calling him to follow up and what does he do? HE STARTS IGNORING ME. STARTS TO DODGE MY CALLS. How ? You ask. I personally, politely call the gym and ask for him and the employees say "Yeah, he's here let me get him" moments pass and then their tone changes and say "Oh he's actually tied up. He’ll call you back” but they don’t sound convincing. keep in mind this has happened 3 to 4 times already. I don't see why bring me in for a third interview when they could've just told me over the phone they didn't want me or anything. I have great work ethics, am bilingual and have been a consultative sales associate my whole life so I know all about sales. AL, the big manager as well also had some influence on this. Both of them were very shallow and pedantic. AL wouldn't even look me straight in the eyes. As far as I was concerned, both of these so called "Managers" shouldn't even have that title. Both of them are very judgemental and very unprofessional. AL wouldn't even stand up straight or turn his full attention to me when I was trying to follow up on this position. Liars & cheaters. KEEP IN MIND.. I STILL SEE "NOW HIRING" signs all over the area and their website and page being posted consistently. Coincidence? I don't think so. I know they're hiring. Long story short, don't waste your time in this location. The managers and employees are just there for your money. They don't give a damn about you or your needs or accomplishments you have for yourself. KELLEN, you are a very irresponsible, sloppy and unprofessional manager. AL, you're also just as selfish, ignorant and lazy as he is & the rest of the staff you have hired. Also, for whomever reads this review make sure you check they don’t enroll you into a scam cause you will have to pay more or even worse, a cancellation fee that will get charged for months. This is coming from another previous manager as well. Nowadays, people just like to lie to you straight up instead of telling you the truth and being an adult about things. Don't go to Crunch. As a "snowbird" I've been going to Crunch Bee Ridge for past 2 winters. I love the variety of group classes, machines and abundance of cardio machines to chose from. All the instructors and personal trainers are great. They are very knowledgeable and care about their clients. I have had the pleasure of working with 2 different trainers. Last year, Trevor, who worked my butt off with fun and innovative training sessions followed by amazing stretching sessions. This year with James "Jimmy" Maverick who is an amazing physical/rehabilitation specialist (and Personal Trainer). I had not been able to raise my arm laterally for past year without a shooting pain. After several treatments, I am pain free and have full range of motion. Following treatments, Jimmy then showed me exercises, and more importantly, proper technique and form, to prevent a relapse. Jimmy is all about the form to ensure maximum results while preventing injury. I truly miss Crunch during the 9 months I'm back up North and look forward to coming back every January.

-It was fine when they advertised a $10/month fee. -It was alright when they added additional "yearly fees" along with that. -It was OK when they acted shocked that an overweight person could actually workout. -It was tolerable when the place smelled bad. -It was annoying when the customer service guys didn't know how to cancel a membership. -It was frustrating when the email I sent to corporate didn't go through because "Oh yeah, they don't check that email address." -It was exasperating when the customer service people gave me the wrong email address for the manager. TWICE. -It was maddening when I had to block the charges from my debit card rather than talk to a person to cancel my membership -It was preposterous that I had to call AGAIN to try and cancel it because they were calling me to see why my automatic payment wouldn't go through. -IT IS BEYOND MY COMPREHENSION THAT THEY'RE STILL TRYING TO COLLECT FROM ME!

Worst staff in a gym I have been to. I once locked my keys in my car. I asked a staff member if I could use a phone to call a friend for help. His response was " How did you lock your keys in your car?" Another time the receptionist shined a laser that scans key card in my eye. This happened twice. Next when I signed up crunch charged me on my credit card. A month I asked to switch payment to my debit card. They agreed I gave them my debit card. Then they continued billing my credit card. Staff really do not care about customers. As far a gym goes it is a nice gym. Just find that staff members do not communicate effectively and some seem to be meat heads.

After years of shoulder pain from heavy lifting, I scheduled a consultation with James Maverick for some Active Release Therapy. I noticed immediate improvement in range of motion, pain relief and stability. After several additional sessions, I have continued with the improvements as mentioned and am regaining strength and flexibility I assumed was lost. Thanks to Maverick for the help. Highly recommended for those with chronic shoulder pain from years of bodybuilding and joint overuse. As Maverick would say, "I feel the need, the need for speed!" Sorry Top Gun!

Place is a joke. I went up to the front desk multiple times to tell them of multiple machines that are broke and for a long time at that. They did nothing over a month and half. So I left them a bad review on their Facebook. I got a call from the General Manager Kellen (what a winner for crunch), he couldn't manage cows out of a pasture, Telling me that I cannot leave a bad review because it would affect his pay. He made multiple excuses for machines not being fixed with no solution. After that he said him and Tony Scrimale talked and they canceled my membership. I laughed. I was so fed up I didn’t care. This is a pathetic business, probably why their turnover rate is so high. Tony only wants to flaunt his money anyways and not talk about the problems in the gym. What a failing/desperate gym has to do because they are scared that the truth will get heard and it will :)

Do not ever work here! As an instructor who has worked in many gyms I will say this was a horrible experience working here. Person in charge was no where to be found on my first day of teaching. The person at the front desk directed me to the group fitness room but didn’t show me anything so I had to figure it out on my own! Not the way a business should be run! Also it took 3 months to get a paycheck from them! There is no communication between managers and Human Resources. One person said they would mail my check, another said I had to pick it up, then the other person said it was mailed. I NEVER received the check so they said they would direct deposit it into my account. Hard to do when they didn’t have any of my bank information! So one lie after another until they finally sent me a cash card. Unbelievable experience! Do not work there!!!

ummm...not a bad place to workout per say. Peak times are CRAZY BUSY so I recommend going at a time that is less busy (if you can manage) so you don't have to wait for a piece of equipment or trip over weights and plates that patrons leave around. Patrons don't follow basic gym etiquette, so you might want to wipe your machine down BEFORE and AFTER you are done using it. The gym has a dirty feel to it, but probably because there seems to be only one person cleaning the entire place. Paper towels and cleaner bottles run empty on the weekends, so be prepared to walk the gym floor looking for some. When machines get broken (which is often) it either takes a long time to fix or it gets fixed quickly, but incorrectly. Some front desk staff are friendly, others....well, let's just say they probably shouldn't be in customer service. I give the variety of machines- 5 stars/ cleanliness of the facility and machines- 2.5 stars/ timeliness and quality of the maintenance- 3 stars/ friendliness of the staff and fellow patrons- 3 stars. So my overall rating is somewhere between 2 and 3 stars.

I loved it here. I liked the camp crunch area where I can flip tires. I can come in create my own workouts in an awesome high energy environment. The Zumba class is great, always fun and the instructor is awesome. My kids did love the kids crunch! Unfortunately now they have closed their childcare, due to “not having enough children.” So now I am unable to workout here. Glad University kept theirs!

DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP AT THIS AWFUL PLACE. They take your money and bind you to a 3 month minimum term. They illegally opened up an account for my son who never authorized a membership stating my daughter authorized the membership then proceeded to debit my bank account for both memberships when my son was not even aware of a membership. Then they charged a $10 late fee to top it off! The GM Garrett was rude and money hungry and hung up on me when I called to get the charges reversed and refused to cancel the fraudulent membership. I will be reporting this organization to the Better Business Bureau for fraud. Oh and it took 4 days to even get a hold of anyone at that location because each time you call the call goes to a voicemail that is full! This is the absolute worst gym ever.

My son joined when under 18. It was a good gym but when he went away to college, they refused to cancel his membership. First they said he had to come in ( he was away at college) Finally he came in and they said, the manager is not here. Then he emailed. We ( I) paid for many months when he was out of town expecting it to be over but they continued to charge us and now it is in collection. I am contesting it and filing with Better Business , not because it is a lot of money but because this kind of predatory business model hurts everyone.

I originally wrote a very positive review about Bee Ridge Crunch. I spent my summer in Sarasota and used their facility every day. Great atmosphere, and at the time I thought the employees were very warm and welcoming. However, when I moved out of state and tried cancelling my account, on FOUR accounts I was given false information as to what their cancellation protocol was. I have now paid almost $150 for 3 months at a gym I have not been using and was "told" my account was cancelled. John, who is one of the managers, was the initial person to "cancel" my account and failed to inform me of their 60 day contract warranting them to charge me another 2 months after cancelling. I have paid 5x more for a member ship I used for 3 months with the basic $10 account. My frustration is more so with the staff and their lack of customer service and being trained properly to give correct and accurate information to their members. This excludes the one gentleman I spoke with this morning who pushed my cancellation through and gave me all of the hard facts about their 50 membership policies that no one told me. Again, not just one person, 3 consecutive employees and managers failed to give me the information I ASKED for and I have now been charged 3 extra months for a gym I am not used. Congratulations, you all have made more money off of me NOT using your gym than you did when I was actually there. Please train your employees properly to give members the information they have the RIGHT to know. The inconsistency and lack of professional management is more frustrating than loosing the whatever hundred dollars extra I have been charged. Thank you to the one guy who dealt with my frustrations over the phone this morning.
