This past year was my 5 year old’s first year at Bobbie Ann’s after 2 years at another studio. She absolutely loved it! The teachers truly love their students and take the time to get to know them. They are a perfect combination of being nurturing and encouraging, yet still uphold some tough love with high expectations, even for the youngest studio dancers. I also appreciate that for the little kids they offer combo classes where the kids are introduced to ballet, tap, jazz, acrobats, and twirling. It keeps the classes super engaging and fun for the kids and lets them figure out areas where they may have talents, or interest in pursuing a particular art form for the future. It definitely has a family atmosphere with many of the dancers being multi-generational, or having been dancing here for many years. The teachers are very talented choreographers, and know how to put on amazing shows! They also seek out multiple opportunities for their students to be able of perform in the community, which enhances that sense of community the studio has and really bonds the kids to one another through these experiences. The only negatives are that the studio itself is really small with only one dance room and a small waiting room/reception area for the parents. It could use a bit of a face lift honestly. I also don’t like that I as a parent have almost no idea what my child is learning or how she is doing because there is no way to see her in class. This makes it Impossible to practice at home because I don’t know what she should be working on. We are excited to continue dancing at Bobbie Ann’s this fall and look forward to joining therir awesome Musical theater classes in the future too. When I asked my daughter if she wants to go back to dance she said, “ You bet I do”!
