We've got all the feddbacks of real people like you who purchase the products and services of Buffalo Exchange (Costumes) in the area close to the state of Washington.
To this day this firm has a rating of 3.8 stars over 5 and that rating is based on 64 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is very high, and it is based on a very large number of reviews, so we may be pretty sure that the score is quite faithful. If there are many people who bothered to value when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to place scores when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Costumes belongs to the category of Used clothing store.
I brought in more then acceptable clothing. They took a jacket with a rip in it but wouldn't take the wholesome newer clothing? They're uptight of their selection and now, they seem just ridiculous and not worth the hassle.
I will not be coming in this store anymore, the buyers could be a little more friendly when you bring in clothes, she said we going to give everything back to you it’s not with my style, you just looked at the clothes for 2 secs and folded it back up. Train your staff better horrible experience I will be going to crossroads where they treat customer like loyalty.
Nice selection of various used clothes for men and women. Although prices seem too high for used clothes, at least on the men's section. Went looking for jeans (I didn't pack enough for my trip to DC). Ended up at Marshalls near White House and found some nice new ones for $15.
Found some real gems. Decent prices, not the greatest. Good trade
Let's begin with the 'BETTER THAN THOU" staff members that make you feel like you're not worth spitting on. They have no professionalism, are disrespectful, and have no business, etiquette. They ever buy any of my items so I usually end up selling them for much more on CL. To be fair, I have to admit, they did offer me $5.00 for my brand new, tags still hanging, $325.00 pair of New Religion Jeans. Do yourself a favor. Don't waste your time
They only sell old, dusty, out of style clothing. Not worth the time.
They sell coffee. I need coffee now. It is convenient. Nice store and not many people here. It is 5:50AM. On a Saturday. Sigh.
Don't waste your time trying to sell to this store. I brought 2 bags full of clothes that were all in good conditions but the arrogant buyer in the store didn't accept any of them. Try to sell at crossroads instead, they are much nicer!
Trendy store that offers used clothing a new lease on life.
Love this place.
Over priced second hand items. For these prices I would rather buy new.
Satisfied Customer
Cool store,excentric Staff,used clothes,a little pricey
I went to buffalo exchange in order to sell my clothes and 1. The place kinda smells and 2. I brought in like 50 clothes item and they only accepted 1.
They are extremely picky for buying and pretty spendy for selling. Dirty store.
Rude, Prejudice Bastards. Blk ppl stay away unless you wanna catch an assault case.
Hands down the best location for buying cheap and styling men's clothing. Unfortunately the selection is usually scant and requires some digging. The women's section is far more abundant. Very good, overall!
You may find anything here. Just keep coming.
The workers are nice. The store is a little pricey, but the stuff is great.
I took four bags of clothes in and they took less than TEN items. They took my AUTHENTIC leather jacket for $35, I got 30% of that. Honestly, not worth it. The vibe in there is kind of cool but it is also very uncomfortable at the same time. This was my first visit and I will never go there again...
Workers are way too concern about talking and socializing then doing their job. Worst service ever
Nice place to find some good quality items.
Great for funky vintage and very affordable. Staff are a lot of fun
Went there for the first time today and got 2 amazing jackets for a very reasonable price! I recommend this spot to anyone and will definitely be going back again!
They down graded the store is smaller now. It's hard to sell to them but some of their prices are reasonable.
This place used to be awesome, which is why I even give it 3 stars now. They used to have a big selection of fairly priced, gently used clothing with a range from h&m/f21 to boutique brand clothing. Some of my favorite clothes are from there, but from like 2-3 years ago. The last several times I've visited since moving back this winter, I've found the majority of their used clothes overpriced or damaged/stained/pilling. And the new ones they have are so poorly/cheaply made. Disappointing.
I absolutely love this store! Their staff are so nice and helpful and I've never left empty handed. I recently sold some of my clothes and they took almost all of it and offered 50% in store credit or 30% cash (I ended up with $75 in store credit). The decor is amazing and their prices are so low you'll never want to shop new again
This place has always been the WORST! I bought a jacket from them for $37 and returned it to them... for $6.00!!! To top it off they never hold anything for you! Their policy is to hold an item for 24 hours. I came back 12 hours later for a jacket and some shirts I put on hold and they sold the jacket! Or it somehow went “missing” The shirts were still on hold too so someone cleverly let the jacket go. They had “no explanation” as to why something from the hold rack was sold. You’re way better off in the Phoenix location. Tempe is a bunch of rude, sneaky, people who will screw you over with any chance they get.
They are sooo picky on what clothing they buy or trade. Apparently new name brand clothing isn't desirable.
Just by reading all these reviews I'm giving my cloths to good will lol I just seen a ad to about sending my stuff to you in a bag you supply and donating what you don't want but I'm not happy what I'm hearing in the reviews. Bad for business. The owner needs to set the example with the employees I went here 10 years ago haha I guess things never change word by mouth advertising through costermers not all positive or worth the traval
Tiny store with an okay selection and kind of high prices, but still cute.
I tried on a shirt and than realized it has a blood stain on it. I tried to be discreet and tell the big bearded twinky fellow and he replied with, yeah OK and so does most of the stuff here. This place should be called (HWA) Hipsters with Attitudes.
Fabulous store with fun and colorful clothes, costumes and accessories
Don't believe what their website says unless you have a wardrobe that screams I'm going to Coachella. They're not going to buy any of your clothing. The buyers also are dressed that way. They'll go through your items in 10 seconds or less without a second thought and make you feel very small even though they're probably teenagers. Good for them for putting together wardrobes that cost less than $5 but who goes out looking like they're sitting next to the Burning Man stage everyday?
This place had horrible service, crappy clothing, and filled with tweekers. Was in to buy cloth for a homeless shelter. I grabbed a cart the staff was not using to fill with clothing for one woman and one man. Some on the staff made a big deal because i had a cart and told me i had to put it back. I asked if they were using it and they replied "no but its not for customers" the cart was in the corner away from everyone, next to two other empty carts. Really? its filled with clothing, i thought you guys liked sales... Then the manager started following me and asked me to leave my small backpack at the counter. It had my macbook and my cash from studying at the Starbucks next door . I said no thank you but you can take a peak before i leave if you must. lol I'm 35 clean cut and dressed business casual..I guess these white people that work here believe all Mexicans are thieves. It was an awkward experience. The quality of the clothing was horrible. i wasn't happy with it, even for a shelter
I love love love this place!! I absolutely love the staff. I bring them Yummy treats every time I come in. They deserve it. I like the fact there are familiar faces when I return. Many of the employees have been there for many years. The shopping is an experience for sure. Great jewelry and shoes all one of a kind. Bringing clothes to sell is is fun for all. Great job to the staff... BRAVO!!!
I'm on the fence about coming here today. I've never sold here and have some very high end things that have never been worn with the tags still on it but am too scared to drive all the way down there and get told either sorry we dont want it or here's $2.00 for your stuff. Idk.... these reviews paint a bad picture of the buyers that work here and I feel like they probably aren't gonna give me anything for my stuff. :/
This store is awesome! I was sad that plato's closet had closed but this store is honestly so much better anyway
Not really impressed by Buffalo exchange. They say they’re taking all clothes but they’re really not. I went in to sell some of my clothes a lot of them which were bought recently and still had tags on them and they did not take Anything from the whole bag. And a lot of the stuff for new. They told me that they were looking for certain things that I don’t understand how a thrift store could turn down new clothing. Very disappointed in them
I wish I can give 4. I have been going to Richmond VA and the staffs were super friendly and more spacious store. This store in DC, the staffs were friendly but I think it will improve a lot better if they set up customer services better and more faster efficient to serve customers. Like one staff focusing on the clothes to buy. Then the rest staffs focus on the cashier. Also I think the store should look other space that is more bigger. Overall, staffs was friendly. Just need to improve on the customer service system in the store.
Very nice & helpful staffs!
Found the perfect boots here.
Love the clothes just wish they would take the prices down abit it is just a thrift store thats semi full of modern clothing
Best little hippie clothing store in D.C. ♡♡♡♡
Great selection they take very specific clothes here.
I go in here almost once a week, and the staff are always super friendly and welcoming. It's hit or miss on whether you find something you like, but that's the nature of thrifting! Also, while the credit/cash returns on the garments I bring in could be a biiiit better, the staff seem to always take 90-95% of what I bring in
Good experience. Just wish it was a bit bigger but that kind of makes it fun finding gems
Little pricey but definitely good stuff
Great clothes, good price, good customer service.
One of the few places where you can find good used clothes for guys. The shirt selection is amusing as well! I regret not buying this one cat shirt... Anyway, they're a little expensive for consignment, but still great.
Given all the reviews from sellers saying that this place is picky I was really disappointed by their selection. Many things looked they belonged in a salvation army. And of the few times that did catch my eye, more than once there were stains or rips.
Clothing is hit and miss, but selling is absolutely terrible. Generally not worth the time...
The best Buffalo Exchange I've been to and I've been to a bunch of them. The people working here are awesome! The proximity to WWU means you get a lot of different things here. It's not as fashion forward as other locations but you get a good mix of fashion and "Bellingham fashion". There are awesome deals to be had here!
Matthew is the best! Helped me feel fabulous!
Overpriced and not to many name brand men's clothes. You will be better off just going to a thrift store.
Super nice store with amazing deals. The best place to sell.
One of the better thrift shops b/c I always buy more than I intended to but that's no reason to complain, right? Lol. Pros: 1) You can sell your clothes for money or store credit. 2) It has lots of trendy clothes and accessories at affordable prices. 3) Merchandise is in good condition/lightly used. Cons: Store is kinda small so you may find yourself moving out of people's way often. Updated: 11/4/18 - My original review did not discuss the experience of selling clothes. Today, I revisited the store to give it a try but I was not impressed. I brought in a lightly used pair of Gucci slides and they priced them at $75, which is what they would sell it for. They proceeded to offer me their rates which are 50% store credit ($37.50) or 30% cash ($22.50). I decided not to sell my clothes after all. I owed it to myself to try Poshmark and Ebay first before letting them steal my shoes. It just didn't seem worth it to me.
Closed on Easter. It was my bad
Great selection
Every time I walk into this place I find such great pieces! They always manage to have something super stylish that actually fits me and doesn't cost an arm, a leg, and my firstborn child. Today I bought 2 shirts, 2 pairs of pants, and a pair of low top Chucks for $100. I'd call that a win!
Would not buy two brand new western cowboy vests and leather jacket.
Don't recommend this place , they were so rude and cruel to this mother and her son by messing up there clothes and end up buying nothing. Please fix this . #stopracism
Fun clothes at a good price! Stop in and see what's new. Stock rotates regularly.
Great men's selection - always find something. Will pay the most for trading in clothes (much better than Avalon). Always have good interactions with the very friendly staff. Bag program is a nice added touch.
Pros: Customer experience, good deals on designer brands when in stock. Cons: Wishy washy sometimes with what they will buy (annoying because we'll call before we come so we can sell as much as we can) what they will "buy" vs. what the "sell" I sometimes have a hard time understanding the logic behind what they buy from customers, and everything I own is current high end/ designer merchandise!
Loved this place. Second hand goods with a first hand friendly staff. Love, love the prices and uniqueness.
Didn’t see much in the way of quality.
Best buffalo exchange in the city. It's small af, but there are some great finds in there if you are willing to look as a guy.
Eh ... Kinda sad to see such a great store go from such a small business status to a big business. Buffalo exchange is not the same like back in the day. The buyers are lousy uneducated I don't care if your in college and this is where you work , that does not justify your lack of experience and knowledge with trademark designer labels both current and vintage ... I am cautious as for taking items in that I must get a certain dollar amount for , so I will stay as the buyer goes thru my selections, otherwise you will get taken advantage of with your items. Back in the day they bought everything I would bring in but since the status from small to big they have corporate structural ethics they strongly enforce but like I said it's sad. . Oh well nothing lasts forever once you get too big.
I have always enjoyed the Buffalo Exchange chain in general. I like this specific location because others in Scottsdale and Tempe are often picked clean. I typically find very good finds here any time I go (I don't go often, maybe once every 1-2 months) Staff is VERY friendly, I always have great conversations with them during my visit. I still go to other locations every now and then and get good finds, but will reiterate the best finds have been here.
This place is pathetic. You have these sad, totally clueless "fashion" employees who don't know style or trends. They all dress like they shopped the last chance sale at Urban Outfitters. The merchandise is even worse. If the employees aren't getting first dibs on the good stuff (after they bought it for much less from the people selling it), they are not even buying the good stuff because of their own style ("Buyers": it's not about what you like, it's about what your customers will like). I rather give my money to big corporate companies.
I came by not to long ago, I had some really great clothes good condition all name brand the girl with short diry blonde hair just took the clothes out and put them back in my bag and told me to come some other day with better clothes and that it wasn't in style. As I liked around to see what she claimed to be in style I found alot of clothes dated back to like the 70s 80s and i was just like wow. Never again I'd rather stick with the one in Tempe. She also made some snotty comment to one of her co-workers telling her all the clothes I had werent her style, like there supposed to be your style to be able to trade or sell. Rude ah.
Many swear by this place. Couldn't find anything that met my needs last time I was in.
Just brought in 4 pairs of $70 per pair jeans that I wore a couple of times and they wouldn't take them because of the contrast stitching? Whatever that is...these jeans were bought at The Buckle and are definitely the style right now but the goth chic helping me didn't have a clue. I never wore these cuz I lost a bunch of weight right after I bought them. This place is a joke. Dont waste your time there.
Liked old location better! Not enough purses.
I have to give this place one star because there's an employee there who acted very discriminatory to my friend, very possibly transphobic. She really was rude, and seemed to barely even look at the clothes my friend brought in. The buyer's hair is short and blonde and she has blue eyes. Many second hand places are often mocked for their holier-than-thou attitudes, so I think places like this should be mindful about that.
i brought clothes to sell and shoes that were in good condition and they didn't want to buy any of my clothes i wouldn't not be going back any time soon!
Really cool shop with friendly people working there. It is not the cheapest second hand shop I've been to but the quality of all the products there is more than good they can easily sell some items as new.
Okay. I've done these used clothes programs across the country before. I came in about 5:50 pm on a Tuesday night. They only have one clothes buyer on hand for their clothes, and it's first come first serve, meaning if the person in front of you brought multiple suitcases and totes, you are SOL. I only had a handful of items to sell. So my suggestion would be to shift the employees on the floor who aren't doing much to a register to buy clothes and alleviate the line. UPDATE: if you're in the store before they close, they will still look at your clothes and honor your wait time. The selection is decent, but since it's a small store, the selection isn't huge. Pros: good selection, quality brands, friendly employees (shoutout to Brian the buyer here!!) Cons: small store, long lines, too few employees.
I dont understand why the clothes there are expensive when its used clothing..... A pair of boots super worn out and had a bunch or rocks on the bottom even a rip on the sides for $40 lol I'd rather just go buy a new pair for the same price, this is not a thrift store
Overpriced clothes!! That you will probably find in other thrift stores for 2$, or other malls instead. I went in and left so quick, kinda disappointed and a waste of time.
I agree with the latest reviews. Having traveled across the country, I have bought and sold at several locations. This is by far the worst. The shelves are lined with old, stained, ripped clothing yet they pass up good clean unworn clothing. To test I brought in a versace shirt, Armani polo-never worn, and new Jean's, among several sweaters and old tees. They purchased 3 old tee shirts and pair shorts with a hole! They are too young and too busy having personal conversations to purchase. Further, look at how they dress. They look like a mishmash from the salvation army discount rack. How can anyone so out of touch with common styles purchase for a clothing store. The store itself is very dirty, dank, and goodwill looking. Actually, a goodwill is probably cleaner and better put together certainly won't be back.
Been coming to Buffalo in Bellingham for years... always great service! Lots of unique and classic items to choose from. Reasonably priced, store and clothing nicely put together. Often good selection of accessories and hats. Would recommend for someone looking for a funky shopping experience.
Incredible, they always have what I want and more.
Absolutely loved it!!
This is a great place to go if you want to be ripped off. First off, their system for buying clothes is extremely inconsistent and seemingly dependent on who's working that day. I've sold to them three times, each time bringing roughly the same quality and same amount of items. Once I got 85$, once 53$, and once 14$! If you go there to buy clothes, you are better off going to the mall. Most of their clothing is used "fast fashion" like HM and Forever 21. Went shopping here a few days ago and went home and looked up all the prices. For starters, 4/5 pieces I purchased were Forever 21. For a store that is supposed to have unique vintage clothing, this is a little silly. To top it off, the forever 21 clothing I purchased was basically being sold for full price- one was even more expensive than being bought new at forever 21! Some Buffalo Exchanges are good, but I would avoid this one. Besides the previous issues I mentioned, the space is small, not much selection compared to others, and rude staff.
Just went here for the first time the other day, and I loved it. I'm an average sized dude, and they had lots of awesome stuff in my size. I will definitely be back to sell and buy lots more stuff.
This is a nice resale shop. I was there on a Sunday and the selling line was long. There's a good quantity of clothing here, even for men. It looks like the stock turns over pretty quickly, so you might want to keep coming back for more bargains!
Here’s the thing about Buffalo Exchange: if you’re looking for more one of a kind, vintage items, their selection isn’t that great. It’s more of a “upscale resale” where it’s used trendy items, which would be great if their prices weren’t so high. There are other businesses that sell really cool vintage items as well as used modern pieces that have better prices. To me, it just seems that you’re paying for the used clothing item at new price or slightly marked down which seems unreasonable, espcially when catering to students. That being said, the staff is wonderful, it’s a great space, and you can find some cool stuff (they have a good jewelry selection), I just expected a little bit more from them. I also really like that with each purchase they give you a token to donate to charity so brownie points for that, but overall I was a little disappointed.
Meh. The jewlery is cool as the cashier was super nice. There were no plus sizes... Don't mean to be a downer, but that's important to me. Sorry if larger sizes wreck the cool-vibe in the store. Even though they depend on what's brought in, effort to obtain larger sizes could made.
Worst their buyer takes in repeated options that you can find at stores no different than the tj Max or Ross. Would not waste your time there
The best clothing selections I've seen so far in thrift in pheonix! This is a gem I don't want anyone else to find out about. So in love
Horrible staff, crowded, uncoordinated, fashion deprived customers. This place is full of condescending, vomit inducing hipsters. I would honestly rather spend the rest of my days in a gulag than go to this place again. Furthermore, their apparel for sale looked like the type of stuff you would obtain for free in a dark alley next to a drunken sleeping pedophile. Honestly, you can find better clothing in a damp, smelly cardboard box next to a dead prostitute in a rundown hotel room.
I used to love going to this place to buy and trade clothes, but ever since they've moved to this location, they're not what they used to be. I bought a shirt here and then they told me it's not good enough to take it back, even though I never wore it. There's this new attitude they seem to have now and I'm not a fan of it. Been a customer for over 6 years but I'm fed up with these guys now.
I love thrifting but I didn't really have a good experience here. The employees are nice and the store is well organized, but everything is so expensive. This isn't a store for people who want to save money and find quality items for cheap. It's an "in" store for upperclass people/hipsters. If you want to find a great and cheap place to thrift try the stores in the less gentrified parts of D.C, stores that donate their procedes to charities, or Good Will.
Everything is used. I thought it was figurative speech but no. Everything actually is used and touched by people who then passed it onto the commoners.
Small, crowded, but lots of great items and helpful staff.
Today, October 3, 2019 was my first time at the Buffalo Exchange and I went there to exchange and not to shop. I was very suprised that my business suits and dresses would not be accepted along with mixed jackets, slacks and jean shorts. i was very upset since my sister came from Ellicott City, MD and picked me up from Hyattsville, MD to exchange my clothing especially since we called ahead of time. Then again I thought since most of the articles were "labels" I would be able to exchange them here. But no! I had a bunch on hangers and some in a garbage bag that my sister had brought from her house. The first associate checked a few pieces in then left the counter and went to the back for something and never came back. Then the other young associate standing with her, named Anelle took over to help me. She put everything neatly back on hangers, which had been taken off the hangers, which was a mess without complaining (this was a big job). I would like to commend this young lady Anelle for her great customer service skills, patience, knowlege and all around humanity because I am a senior citizen and handicapped. She did a wonderful job today. She did this with a smile. Although I did not make a purchase from the store she was very patientand very willing to help me. Please thank her again for me for doing a great job. Kudos! Gail P. Miles
Friendly employees, just wish they had more variety in clothes. They all seem to be for a specific demographic.
Lots of expensive clothes for cheap. I've flipped a couple buys on eBay for some quick cash before, but that's not always possible depending on what they charge. Return policy is pretty harsh, but it is used clothes. This location is better than the Tempe one by far.
I loved it had some plus size
Too jam packed and the prices they demand are equal or higher than to buy it new. Buffalo exchange needs to get their act together
Brought some clothes that I no longer wear into this location, and was able to use the store credit I got to get some great new pieces at a reasonable price. They won't take everything, but can donate what they don't take to a local charity for you, which I loved! The staff was friendly, the line moved quickly, and they have tons of fun, funky pieces to browse - along with some great designer items too!
Won't be trying to sell here again. I cleaned out my entire closet and separated all the name brand and new items (still with tags), leather bags, etc. Two bags full of stuff and not one item was selected. I should have just walked out when the girl that was reviewing my items turned to one of the other buyers and asked 'It probably isn't a good day to sell my things, huh?' She also didn't seem too attentive because she asked me about how my day was going twice in a row, maybe a minute apart. Probably should have asked for a different associate considering my somewhat 'casual' style versus her plastic shirt/bra outfit. Maybe I'm just not funky enough to sell clothes here. I get that inventory may be higher at times, but when I bring in trendy, new items with tags it's a little frustrating when they get overlooked. All of my items went promptly to the salvation army, I didn't want to deal with schlepping my things to a different store just to be turned away.
You have to really look for clothes n some prices r too high
I worked for two hours getting 2 bags full of clothes and a crate full of shoes and traveled 20 miles just to be told that they didn't want my summer dresses and tops and shoes, they are way to picky and judgmental for me, I feel staff wasn't trained right, the worst place ever, my 4 friends that recommended I go there will now be going so.ewhere else with me......twice as nice is much better
I love the finds of something old but New in my find. Very convenient when shopping at lunchtime and looking for that special outfit for the next Holiday Party or Event! HAVE FUN SHOPPING!
Pllllasstic! Mostly overpriced trash. Some staff are discourteous, and buyers should be trained to buy current fashion. Also, should include more focus on natural fiber clothing.
Really a nice place with always a great find to be had by those who take the time to look.
This is a great place to take your new style less than 2 years old clothing to sell you get 50% and trade or 33% in cash of what they will buy it for keep up the good work guys
I love trips here, and I almost always leave with a unique stylish piece I am proud to wear. Some items, considering it's a second-hand store, still seem kinda pricey. But I can find great stuff in the clearance area. They're really picky if you try to sell to them, but I suppose they have to be, because there's such specific styles. I recommend opting for store credit, instead of cash, when selling items. It's a better deal, I think.
The clothes r 4 ppl with a different taste and they only buy things that are weird..
Good experience. If u have clothes they dont accept n u want to donate. There's a donation box on 12th st.
I will never go here again. I felt racially profiled from the time i gave the lady my things. I had a brand new pair of Jordan's i never worn and she told me they where no good. But i had just seen some j's Adidas and vans. I had brand new jeans never worn because i could not fit them she said they was no good...smh never will i go here again hate this place. Gives me more motivation to move back home to tx... n say f Arizona
They only pay out proper money to people they know or regulars instead of just based on the quality of what u bring in
Total rip off, $5.40 for a $225 shirt. Way to take advantage of people. Update, went back after a few days and the shirt I was given $5.40 for was selling for $60. Go else where if you want a fair price
Over priced and the amount they offer you to buy used clothing is a slap in the face. Awful place. The one in San Diego Ca is much better... better prices, better clothes, better staff.
Brought in brand new, name brand clothes. Your buyer said they were "too worn out". This place is garbage. It smells like urine, too.
Overtime, going into Buffalo has become my final option for finding/selling clothes. At one point, the staff were very knowledgeable on brands and the value of the pieces they purchased from customers, then the staff became totally swapped out for college kids don't really know as much as they think they do...The staff on any given day can be very anti-social which is a red flag off the bat. Selling clothes there is one of the most painful experiences as well. They will on average price denim at $15. You get 30% of that in cash & 50% in store credit...You do the math. You're better off selling one of your items on eBay for that. I think Buffalo should really work on the pricing system for some of their items. You guys have very cool pieces sometimes but you should research them and interact with your customers no matter how hectic your day may be going.
I never find anything worthwhile at this location. Parking is difficult. Nice employees.
Awful place n used stuff at very high prices
I just tried to leave a review but it I don't think it took. This is the worst store ever . The younger , (unschooled in fashion) buyers at this store are the worst: a bad combo of snotty and judgmental yet ignorant to quality vintage , brands etc . I could tell she literally didn't know what she was looking at . She rejected an awesome lucky brand leather bag in mint condition , 2 pairs of awesome vintage cowboy boots , anthropologie dresses and my cherished vintage 70s Lees in excellent condition. Really? Just because they weren't horrible high waisted 80s mom jeans or some other bad 80s nonsense. At first I thought it was because I'm old but then I realized plenty of my age group shop there. And then I thought my stuff isn't trending now. But it didn't matter because a trained eye would have recognized how awesome my stuff was whether or not it's cool right now at this very moment. . My stuff is awesome and timeless , just like me. .
If u comb through the chaos, you can find a steal or a faded pair of 90s $5 sunglasses for $20
I never plan on buying anything but whenever I go I somehow always end up buying something I don't need. Great price and very rare clothing items. Just can't past up on a great deal!
Very popular and has many fantastic items!
Great store! Fast cash
To sell... not a first choice. To buy, YES! Lots to choose from. I went in with the thought of letting go, so I told myself no matter what, let go! BUT... as one who does consignment, ASOS marketplace, and ThredUp, I definitely got way less than I would have if I had taken any other route. The stuff in store was cool, though. I guess the bonus is what the don't accept, they donate. So that was my mantra as I left, leaving quite a few unaccepted items with tags from winter 2016 season, and it's just the start of February. If only I had decided within the return timeframe. I better not see unaccepted stuff on the racks!
Staff is really kind and helpful a real feel good vibe place to be in i always shop there i find something every time i go and visit.
Got a vintage Jordan jersey for 28 bucks.
It's a win win at this store. You can sell stuff or buy stuff. Both are great benefits. The clothing is DC conservative let's pretend it's funky because it's not banana republic but the truth is if you aren't a follower of styles this may not be your place to shop.
This is a very small hard store to move around staff could be friendlier. If your not anxious this is a good place to find some really good and cool items, the prices are fairly decent.
I like this Buffalo Exchange location. The selection is really good and reasonably priced. Much less crowded than the Georgetown location. I can always find in season Madewell stuff here, as well as pretty nice vintage pieces from time to time.
Large place that had a sort of thrift store vibe. Not too much vintage clothing, but you can find stuff if you spend the time looking. Has great parking.
Just too pricey.
I always come here with high end and top notch items and they always give me chump change!!
Fun shop, a lot of eclectic items if you're looking for statement pieces, prices vary, but definitely better than shopping at the mall
Good place to trade old clothes for something current and afordable.
Very bad service. When you go to check out and they see a low price the answer is : sorry we can't sell for this price "is our policy" . I was wainting on line for 15 min and in the end I got that answer. Left the store very disappointed!!
Miss Mst. Store...
The sell-by-mail option seems like a scam. I sent in hundreds of dollars worth of clothes, some of which was nearly new. All I got was $5, and there is no way to tell if they are really "donating" the other items or actually re-selling.
Lots to check out. Very good selection.
I’m truly baffled by this location after having sold and purchased clothing from locations in NYC, Chicago and Atlanta. Their selection is horrible and resembles a Salvation Army more than a trendy vintage store. I brought in a bag of designer clothes today and they took nothing - three of my dresses had never been worn - and forgo the comment Savy that you only purchase what is currently trending because the three boho Free People dresses are extremely in right now. A maxi Madewell striped dress in excellent condition along with 2 pairs of vintage 501 Levi’s in great shape and a dozen high end blouses were all passed up. I’ve come to assume the staff have absolutely no training or clue what labels and fashions are actually worth investing in. I found another vintage store online who purchased them from me for $$$. It will be no loss to the city when you close your doors. Customers would be better off shopping at h&m or tjmax. Jessica your response is about as helpful as Savy’s usually are - not at all. Levi’s 501 are always in style and you had NONE in stock when I was there. Excuses, excuses, excuses. I will never be doing business with you again. Anywhere.
Interesting merchandise, Nice staff.
Great place for the college crowd! You can bring your gently used in style closet leftovers and exchange for cash or store credit...take the store credit! You will spend it! Staff is always friendly!
A sales associate was very rude to Customer. If you don't like your job then find some where else to work.
Clean place & friendly staff. They have cool stuff and a nice selection. I located some great finds at affordable prices. Really casual and laid back vibe here. It's like a "younger" thrift shop for mostly clothes where you can sell or exchange decent apparel from your own closet. Hence the name Buffalo EXCHANGE.
The selection here was mediocre, and there were a lot of the same designs or styles on most of the racks for women's clothing. Not much stood out to me, unfortunately. Some of the shoe styles were interesting, though!
They have nice trendy collection for buyers, but selling is an absolute disappointment here. First, stand in the longest queue for too long and then see young girls rejecting your quality stuff without even unfolding it. They apparently do not understand and buy higher-end, branded office wear. Tried twice and literally had to ask what's wrong with my clothes and shoes. Interestingly, I was told it was not the style they carry for a trouser and pair of sandals I bought from them. What snobs! I have made the mistake of leaving my office clothes as donation at BE earlier. Do not listen to their feedback and trash your good clothes. There is Martha's outfitter (good cause) and crossroads to get better selling experience.
Don’t
Great shoes and clothes.. love too come back
This place used to be great at their other location. I really don’t like someone half my age schooling me on style.....really? I have brought in plenty of stylish things that were rarely worn, only for them to not take it. They never seem to take anything!
I guess they have nice clothes but a lot of the clothes since its a thrift store are used and priced like they are new at their original store or similarly priced like Marshalls. I don't understand because you would think that the whole of the point of being a thrift store would be to offer stuff at a discounted / cheaper price than other stores. I rather buy something brand new if it's priced the same as here...
The clothes are mediocre at best. Not sure what they are looking for in terms of selling, but they always pass on things with tags on them, but take things that look old and worn? Very confusing.
They're some TRASH. I took like 80 items up to their D.C. Location (14th street) and the lady who helped me basically gave me everything back, offering lame excuses, and moved extremely slow. ALSO, 2 employees came up to her twice and she had to stop helping me to help them
Love shopping here cause I always find something!!
This place is never empty. I've found really good finds here but you have to mosh through people and overstuffed racks. Service is friendly. The fitting rooms are clean but some of the curtains are a little too small to cover the doorways.
I went here on June 29th around 6:15 expecting to sell some clothes I had. When I was being helped the woman who was helping me didn't even care to finish looking at my clothes she just said "I'm not taking anything" I felt really embarrassed by her remark and was confused when she didn't even look through all my clothes. She was a very rude person and I don't think her worth ethic is right for that store.
Don't waste you time with this store. If you want good close for a great price just shop at discount outlets like az mills etc. This place used to be known for hot clothes and trade ins. Now they only take your brand new clothes with tags. Who would sell clothes that is brand new. Unless your some rich shmuck who just bought tons of clothes you didn't want. That's what this store has become. Only brand new clothes That's not a trade store. That's ....we wil buy your brand new stuff for money and sell it for double...this store is worthless now. Do not go to it..do not Waste money on brand new clothes here might as well buy brand new. the pants and shirts are only like 10 to 15 cheaper than macys. This is a hipster store only now. And that's cool. But don't act like a trade depot for hot clothes and your not. I branch 20 shirts in and because they where not brand new or washed a few times They did not take them.lol...what a joke store trying to pass it self as a high and place and its not.
Went here for the first time and loved it! The store is quite small and crowded but it’s surprisingly easy to navigate. They have all kinds of clothes, from daily wear to statement pieces and most of it is under $25. The fitting rooms are clean and most of the staff is friendly. The checkout for buying things goes really fast, selling things seems to take a while longer. I would also recommend taking a bag with you because they don’t have free bags.
Good place to buy but not to sell
my boyfriend and I went here in hopes to sell a good amount of clothes that we brought in. the buyer didn't even take her time going through the clothes we had, she literally picked up the shirts and folded it without looking she was way more interested in what the mannequins had on. will more than likely not go here to sell my clothes again. went to crossroads right after and my experience there was well worth it. save your time, go to crossroads.
A great selection of items for incredibly low prices
Never shopping here again. Being a long time customer here, I’ve never tried to sell clothing here. Until today that is. Their website claims to look for men’s clothing and plus size clothing. Both of which I brought in. Very trendy in style expensive clothing. I brought in probably 20-30 outfits. They took almost nothing. I think this place discriminates against plus size clothing because the bigger sizes I had they didn’t even take a second look at, and the stuff that wasn’t as big they did look at more closely. The stuff they took was stylish but smaller in size. The stuff that was similar style if not more stylish but bigger sized they didn’t take. The girl held up a lot of outfits that she seemed to like but because they wouldn’t fit her, she didn’t take them. She kept saying “oh this is cute but it’s way too big”. A lot of plus size people want cute clothes too and that was really insensitive considering any time I’ve been in this store I’ve rarely found plus size clothes there. All these stores discriminate plus sizes and therefore I am never shopping here again!
One of my fave spots!!
Smaller than the Tempe location, but super cute stuff and very friendly staff.
Great place for extravagant clothes
Can't see how this place has the bad reviews it has... one of my favorite places in the valley to get clothes and various other stuff they have in at the time. Reasonable prices and friendly staff have been part of all my visits. Some of the best I have is from here, and I'm more than happy with it.
Cool clothes, cheap prices, excellent staff!
Love this place. Trading and buying clothes is so fun.
I started going in 2016 and it has been downhill ever since. They closed the Georgetown location and this one mine as well be a goodwill. I used to go once a week and was able to find quality products. I don't think it is one person still on staff that knows what to buy or sell. $35 for a shirt, I mine as well get a shirt brand new out the store. I don't even waste my time trying to sell. I used to be able to find prps, moncler, and other designers but now $35 for a walmart shirt. I don't think they have any clue what to buy anymore. Dont waste your time. Oh and mens section is down to 2 racks and wall of shoes I wouldnt give a homeless person.
Excellent selection at an amazing price
Very very disappointed. Bought what I thought was a cute white button down shirt I could wear to work. It was still warm out, so I saved the shirt for a couple weeks when it was colder outside. Wore it for the first time and noticed a stain (looks like it was coffee) that covered half the bottom of the top! Couldn't notice until you're under bright fluorescent light, but needless to say I was very embarrassed walking into work! Won't shop here anymore if the employees can't brother to check their clothes for good quality!
Always find wonderful international items for around $20 - $30 that I know would be three times as expensive if purchased new.
New adidas shoes and new flannel shirt so awesome! Right price!
I just have to note- great staff. Friendly service. Some things are overpriced but then don't buy it. Everyone is mentioning these people have particular style and dress like "last chance Urban Outfitters." Yes guys. It's called style. I've lived in Phoenix for a year and a majority of people out here are incredibly basic lacking any sense style whatsoever. With that being said, I wouldn't really take any of the previous reviews to heart, as these people should be going to a Kohls and leave Buffalo Exchange to people with a sense of style that goes beyond what a mannequin in a store "tells you to wear". Thank you.
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff
Trendy urban clothes. Overpriced.
Different assortment of used but good clothes and shoes...if you looking for something trendy+ limited budget then this is your place
I must say that I did not get any condescending vibes from the staff. The clothing selection was stylish and interesting. The prices were fair. Did I go to the same establishment as the negative comment folks did? Plus, it is next to a kickass taco joint and across the street from a cool guitar shop.
Cool store, limited parking, I like the university one better.
Buffalo EX. used to have polite employees that knew how to buy and sell used fashion clothes from ALL decades. Now it seems they hire whoever ,give them NO training ,Do not watch them to see how they are interacting with the customers or even check them to see what they are buying for the store. I worked at the sister store CROSSROADS some years ago in California and the staff in the Phoenix store would not make it there---,they would be let go as soon as the Manager heard them disrespect a customer or seller. It must be I am getting old , but you used to get the benefit of the doubt and some respect as a customer when you shopped at Buffalo EX. Oh well......I am sure the other used clothing stores popping up around town will inherit all of Buffalo's customers over the next few months/years and Buffalo EX. wants it that way....
Super picky with everything, feel like they don't know what will sell sometimes.
Love Buffalo Exchange! They buy your clothes at a good price and then you can shop around (which is even better!)
Good place to buy quality used clothes however trying to sell here is always a night mare and takes forever
The cashier was very funny
Most of the staff is very rude and sterile. Unless you look just like them, then they go into "Heathering Mode" How they determine what they buy is beyond me. They turned down Loui Vuitton shoes, a Tumi Alpha Ballistic briefcase, Prada shirt, Ralph Lauren Purple Label. It used to be a cool place to go.
It was a fun and peaceful! I looked at clothes from multiple different social-economic areas that would allow me to dress "from the gutter to the White House!"
Here you can purchase a shirt from Ross for double the amount Ross charges! Yay!
Excellent helpful very nice people
I would not recommend going to this location. The store smells and they do not take good quality clothes.
I always fall in love with something I find here!
I love the selection of clothing and shoes.
Sadly the majority of the staff have terrible attitudes towards customers, both buying and selling clothing. I have witnessed employees speak badly about customers right after the customer has walked away. Specifically about items that customers are looking to sell or trade. Not all employees are bitter, snotty and just plain mean. There are a couple, YES A COUPLE that are warm, friendly and definitely knowledgable of the fashion industry. Unfortunately, the majority had earned a shallow & dim one star rating - believe they are lucky to be spared a star!! I'm delighted to say i will be a loyal customer of the B.E. in Tempe - Until I've heard or read that employees of the Phoenix store have successfully completed a CUSTOMER SERVICE COURSE, adjusted their attitudes or that it's been restaffed I'm not going to return with my very frequent, very loyal and VERY lucrative patronage. The royally snotty skinny and frigid female blonde, mean heavy set dark haired male and Claire Danes lookalike...you're no better then any other human being!! Get a touch up on your poker faces until you are a franchise owner and not an employee.
Love shopping there. Always great finds for super cheap
Just a normal place. Guess I was expecting too much
No customer bathroom they sent me to Starbucks to use the bathroom. Bad customer service you should have a bathroom for customers. Prices too high for a thrift store. Not impressed at all.
Long wait to.exchamge clothes, but nice staff with good fashion advice.
In my opinion, one can't go wrong with Buffalo Exchange in general, no matter if it's the Phoenix or Tempe location (although the Tempe store does cater to a younger, college-aged crowd, and that's understandable). But, the Phoenix store is my definite favorite of the two, hands down! Conveniently located, super clean inside and out, friendly staff (the majority of them, anyway), fast service, and usually a good selection of clothing to pick through (and obviously, the selection WILL vary from day to day, which is the nature of the beast when shopping second-hand clothing). If you're selling clothing, all I can say is that in MY dealings with the buyers here, they've always been reasonable with their offers! The Phoenix store gets a well-deserved, 5-star rating from ME....all day long, 7 days a week and twice on Sunday!
I was frustrated with the parking and it took more than a minute for my turn in the selling line but then the service, communication and humor from Jazmin, along with the whole 'cool' atmosphere, sold me . . . I'll be back!
I brought two bags of basically brand new clothes and the lady looked at them for about a minute. She told me the clothes were "too worn." Not happy with my experience and I don't think I will ever go back.
Packed with people. Interesting finds.
Not much difference in price than buying retail on sale
WHEN CONSIGNING: I have A LOT of cute trendy clothing and they didn't take any. When I saw what the staff was wearing and when I looked around at the clothing they had, it's only ONE type of clothing.. Looks like Urban Outfitters type or hipster. They didn't take any other type which a lot of mine were GIRLY clothing from Guess or Forever21 or Charlotte Russ, but STILL very cute and trendy. They are biased and only want THAT TYPE of clothing.. Which I think they need a variety because not everyone wears that type. WHEN BUYING: They did have some cute clothes there but BIASED when it comes to consigning clothes.
Probably the everyone's favorite place to shop for clothes.
This store carries nice items but my personal opinion is the prices are ridiculous. I was told you can either get 30% for your items or 50% store credit when exchanging your merchandise. To each its own.. But it's a No for me on price but a Yes to do business. But don't just take my word on it. Check them out even if it's just to exchange some unwanted garments you have laying around your house
Really cute clothes!
I don't know what they want? Didn't even buy the skinny jeans. Don't pay much either.
Located conveniently. The shop is kept clean and organized for a clothing exchange store. The girls working there (went there when all the staff were female) were just amazing. Not only helpful but always with a jolly smile. Got some good recommendations for brunch. Anyways... Great value for what I sold
The resell payoff is very small, but I have caught a ton of deals here by dropping in from time to time
They carry only the best least used pieces of clothing and have a good selection of things for men to wear.
Strict requirements for stuff they'll buy from you, which are... confusing, given the amount of stained/low-quality merchandise on display. I'm sure it's not personal, buying employees-- but you can see how it might feel that way.
Great place shop. Selling back isn’t really worth it unless you have to. Some of the girls there can be snubby. :/
Friendly staff for the most part. Well organized. Nice selection of items. Some really good brands! Great change rooms! Good prices!
Love this place, I've been coming here for years. They are picky about what they buy because they have to sell it all, and if it doesn't sell in a month, it's fifty percent off. ** By the way, most of the negative reviews on here are from people whose clothes were not purchased for whatever reason whether they are not what sells to consumers who shop at this location due to age, condition, stock on hand, style, etc. Ask yourself, why am I getting rid of this? That's how they always have trendy clothing and accessories. That said, I do agree that they are selective. I'm ok with that. I miss the vintage section, now it is all mixed in. Definitely check it out!
Great deals on gently used clothes. Vintage and new trends are my favorite finds here. Love this place because they only take the best.
The manager here runs a tight ship and bought my shoes real quick after the other place down the street turned their nose up to them. Thanks!
Totally dishonest. Gave my clothes back in my bag saying they couldn't use any of them but yet kept a nice purse I had in there and basically stole it. This is why I don't trust them or zia, these buy-sell-trade places. Hope you get put out of business, soon.
WAY too small for the amount of stuff they have. If you wanna shop here, I’d recommend shopping on Poshmark instead because at least you can get a deal there. The prices here are absurd. I’m going to a used clothing store and you want me to pay between $20 and $30 for a dress because it’s trendy? Heck no.
I'm a fan but the buyers choices of what to and not to buy are questionable. I'm an old school former employee that keeps up with what's trending and what's always a seller and what not to buy and unfortunately the buyers at this location lack this skill. The manager rang me up and he's always a pleasant and helpful person, no matter how busy it gets. I'd say all in all, a splendid shopping experience!
They homey Hot care
Good place to shop.
Great selection of hip clothes
Good selection here. I couldn't find anything for men's shorts but there was at least one good find for everything else u was looking for. Very friendly staff as well
Great place. Wide & wild selection; excellent prices. Staff who are knowledgeable.
You can buy sell and trade apparel shoes and fashion accessories. Its great that they have different styles of fashion that is normally not sold in the DC area, but there items are to over priced to be used items. Basic they have a large quantity of fashion apparel, but low quality of items. I only go here to look for something unusual or when i want a deep discount on certain items.
This is a bit biased because I used to be one of their buyers in 2016. The manager buys in at prices THEY can afford. And selling has gotten way worse over the past 2 years since they closed the Georgetown location. They hired an all new staff AGAIN 2nd time they swapped staff, and didn't keep anyone who know what they were doing. If MELANIA is still store manager there then be prepared to waste your time. the store will probably be out of business soon due to lack of quality, terrible pricing, and inability to sell down their racks. They cant really buy because they haven't sold anything. I feel really bad for the new employees because they wont be there long at all. That's really sad. AND just to be clear I still try to give them good business and overtime I've seen a terrible difference. I used to come in and sell even after I stopped working there, now I think you're better off at Crossroads.
It must've been a busy buying day. There was about a dozen people there, in line to sell there clothes and such. I ended up buying a pair of shoes from a guy in line. There were two buyer's.
We found a Halloween costume in minutes here!
I came in with a friend with clothes to sell and this being our first time checking the place out. I had various name brands that I was hoping to sell, and both my friend and I came in before the 30 minute closing mark. Nothing got looked at. It was a very quick go through. What was folded was placed on the counter how I had in the bag. Didn’t take the time to look. They looked at other people’s clothes and looked at it fully but not ours. Was not impressed. Two people had gone through my clothes. Took 2! One was a short hair blonde bleach looking haired lady and the other was a long red haired older looking lady. If they were trying to close up quick, they could’ve said come back in the next time and try earlier. I will not be coming back to try to sell clothes here again. If I could rate they’re buying skills it’d be a zero
Staff was really sweet. I liked their vibe. Love that they ditched bags. Love that they put the money they would have used towards bag towards other organizations (bettering Arizona) & theyre right next to an awesome taco joint!
Great place and lots of offerings-various quality. Left with an affordable summer shirt last Friday and some of the minor stains came out in the wash, so happy. Not impressed with the customer service specifically with the sales clerk next to the shoes/dressing rooms. Went in on Friday and found clothes to try on, after walking 30 minutes across town with a heavy backpack, camera bag, and smaller bag after work. I was exhausted, but wanted to stop to find something I could wear in hot weather because I just moved and don't have summer clothes. She wanted me show her all 6 pieces and I was obviously struggling and didn't offer to help. I even dropped one on the ground and she didn't even try to pick it up for me. I even thanked her after trying on clothes and she didn't say anything. Monday after the weekend, I went in to try and buy shoes that I liked from Friday but couldn't see them immediately. I asked if I could use the step stool to see the back, because I'm too short to see the shoes. She said no. But she could look for me with no intention to help me find what I was looking for. I didn't even want to explain my situation. I said "ok" and walked out. I came on my lunch break to come to this store. I was nice when she wasn't (pretty sure that should be reversed). I thought it was just because of a busy Friday, but it was 12pm today and it wasn't busy...it just opened at 11am. Would be nice if employees could have at least adequate customer service. (check-out station rocks!)
friendly staff. great music..always find something i need or want. good prices.
Not impressed by style or price but it was well kept store...
Always find great pieces here. Parking can be hard to find sometimes. Love the staff too their super friendly :) I come every weekend. Love this place
I have only bought not sold at this location. However staff was super helpful and friendly and they had some really fun pieces. It is a relatively small store though and got incredibly crowded to where it was difficult to navigate. But they had better inventory then others I have been to.
Definitely make sure you read reviews before you come and waste a trip to haul clothes. The guy told me “We’re looking for wind breakers, band shirts and Harley Davidson clothes” So don’t waste time bringing clothes that are in style, clean, cute, name brand or popular because they only want old fading band shirts and wind breakers. I should’ve read the reviews before hand and I didn’t. The employees seemed nice but people just need to read the reviews and they won’t be so angry. It isn’t a normal second hand store. Old and “Vintage” is what the trend is.
Great Service , Very Very Picky On What Clothes To Exchange Though . && They Trade For A Very Low Price . But Otherwise , I Like Going There .
This is a great place to buy vintage or stylish clothes. They offer seasonal clothing selections and even holiday attire. Prices can vary but its in line with other consignment shops of the same quality in Bellingham. You can bring in clothes to buy back for store credit, be sure to ask what they are looking for at that time because they don't just take anything.
Sell old clothes find hidden treasures
They cheated me out some money! Told me one price, I left and came back and they upped the price. Plus they only look out for their own kind!
The prices are barely below the retail price and there are no variarions in style. It's like they get fixated on one trend and then purchase nothing but that trend for 3 months. And if you don't like that trend, you are SOL. Buy clothes that span the spectrum. Have some variety. You're starting to look like an Old Navy Outlet.
I was here for the first time yesterday & was impressed with the great selection. Also everyone was friendly. I'll be back.
Before I get started on the clothes, if you are sensitive to dust, I wouldn’t step inside. You can see in the photo how dirty the hangers are. They left black marks on my hand. Customer service here, however is great. The lady that grabbed my things for me to sell greeted me at the front with a friendly smile. And while I was shopping and had 7 items hanging from my left wrist a nice young lady asked if I would like to get a fitting room started. And of course my answer is yes. This place carries mostly casual clothes and catered to college and high school students. I came to see if they’d buy any of my clothes, but they didn’t take my light blue jeans, romper, men’s nice button ups or professional pants, not even my BCBG nude strapless dress that’s in great shape and trendy. The lady that helped me was very nice, but there isn’t a lot of quality clothes here. You’ll need a lot of time to rummage through racks and racks of clothes to hopefully find one or two good pieces. Mostly fast fashion wear. Stuff you’d see at H&M or Forever 21 and other similar brands. I did see a few Ann Taylor tops and a beautiful xxs Marciano dress that was too tight even for me and I weigh 94 pounds at 5’5.5”. In the photos you can see how some are in very poor condition and they seem to have bought those from other people. Tattered fabrics and some knitted stuff had stretched out holes. I tried on 9 items and left with zero. I was searching mostly in the small sections of the racks. Maybe other people have better luck. This is my third Buffalo Exchange I’ve been to and over the years I haven’t had much luck. Last time I was lucky I found a nice Nasty Gal knitted sweater in Costa Mesa, CA. Oh and there’s a private parking lot. No problems with parking. There are handicap spots also, but the doors are not handicap accessible. I think my time is better spent at Nordstrom Rack. From my experience at all of the Buffalo Exchange locations I’ve been to, I haven’t met employees that had good taste here. If they did, they’d carry a better selection. My guy friend has much better luck at Crossroads. He always finds such nice stuff there. This review is coming from an image consultant and publicist.
Cool clothes, great place to sell or trade.
I bought a shirt there and then decided to bring it back a couple months later. They said they wouldn't take it because it wasn't "the kind of thing they carry." Same shirt they sold me. Complete BS. Take your business elsewhere.
Great spot with awesome threads Great people.working there as well!
Nice staff and great cloth selection
A little something for every taste...
Smaller store, even smaller selection of items for sale. I was disappointed because I was told that the Phoenix location was even better than the Tempe location. Everything was priced fairly expensive for being a consignment store. Didn't find any good buys this trip.
Great place to shop you'll always find things that you didn't think you would.
I came in today to sell some of my clothes, many which were name-brand and very expensive. The store clerk only selected one thing and when we asked what he was looking for he mentioned that they look for clothes that fit the college street style. It’s strange to me because a lot of my items were purchased in the last year from popular young adult stores and he said it looked like I really dug in the back of my closet for some of the items. He was very friendly but I don’t understand their selection. I won’t be returning.
The buyer SAV is unfriendly and never smile to any customers. I hope she get fired by manager in one day.
Great gently worn clothes at awesome prices!
As many have mentioned they are very random at picking what to buy. I thought for sure the other reviewers were just bringing in older, worn clothing (which after looking at the selection, may be what they want haha). The ladies working were nice and helpful, and the buyer was okay but not very friendly. Nothing personal, but I won't be back to this location. The store has changed a lot over the years, it's not worth it anymore. I couldn't find anything worth buying I'd rather just go to the mall.
Employees are super polite and love the huge selection of clothes
This is my favorite thrift store in DC. They have a great eye for quality/style. The store is smaller, but there's plenty there for both men and women, and I usually leave with something.
Great selection and staff
There very coool peps, Great!!-
Good place to exchange ur wardrobe
Don't waste your time coming here.
Fun, friendly staff. Great prices for name brand new and gently used clothing. The store is clean, well organized and nicely laid out. A fun, hip place to shop.
I agree with all other reviews.Don't ever think about sell clothes in this place, they will throw your clothes like throwing things to garbage truck.Unrespectful and worse than Goodwill.First I thought they might just picky and rude, but not only that. Some are untrustful liars.I sold a chanel style blue suit and some jewelry in their store.First the blue hair cashier said 12 for suit, and an other lady exam my rings and earrings, made a deal as 9. Then We made a deal as 21. But at the end,the blue hair cashier suddenly paid me only 12,and said with very mean tone: "Buffalo exchange only paid 33%of the orginal price." Yeah, that's the rule.but I don't think the rule would be a excuse to be dishonest. In this case, money is not a problem. But the trust problem is a problem. As a seller and buyer, I will not go back to this store again.
Good collection kind of spending for a second hand place
I use to love Buffalo Exchange, it was always something really fun to do. As a former employee of the Georgetown location , I know how the process work ( i even know how to buy ( and what excatly they should be looking for. I noticed at this buffalo there is always someone new. I was supper friendly with the mangers, before they left, now there is a completely brand new staff. I went in today and there was one buyer, and a huge line, and then one girl training ( maybe not the best when there was a huge line. the girl who was training of course got my stuff and went through it and picked like 5 things, she then didn’t know how to price items so the manger had to do it. Not sure what the point of that was. Everything i was selling came up to $38 in trade. After i has sold numerous shirts jackets and it came up to $38: while i went to crossroads after and got a trade of. $72 with less stuff. I have been to buffalos in new york and portland and there great but it seems this one is always have problems, weather it’s there’s selection on clothing for plus size women or lack of customer service. I would defiantly recommend crossroads , great services and u get ur bucks worth!
A great place to buy and sell clothes. Men's and women's fashions for a great price.
I have a love-hate relationship with this Buffalo Ex. location. Pros: good diverse selection. prices are reasonable for the most part. Cons: small location--such little floor space to actually move around comfortably. friendliness of staff is a total coin toss. security can make you feel uncomfortable. Ultimately this location does a great job at selling clothes, and that's it. I just don't feel very comfortable when I go in there, and that deters me from doing so a lot of the time.
They usually have a very nice selection at this location. It's a small store and can be difficult to find pieces you like but overall they are at good prices.
I have been going to Buffalo Exchange for 20 years, I have seen so many changes throughout the years. I'm disappointed I've been a loyal customer for an eternity and every time I go into the one in 7st Osborn they only take 1 or 2 items!!!! I have worked in this industry for over 15 yrs. A priced buyer at my sisters closet for 7 years. I bring in only the very best designer purses, kate spade, micheal kors,,,, vintage crossbodys, also clothing in excellent condition free people, anthropology brands,,, bcbg,,,and more. I'm surprised at the staff not taking in excellent clothing or purses. I will bring my items to other stores that appreciate my beautiful items, also they only give 30% cash when other stores give 45%. The staff needs training on brands and they need to raise the % on your clothing, not worth the hassle.
Great service and amazing cloths
It's not for everybody, my wife found a couple of items. The fact that my stuff went to a rescue mission made up for the fact that almost none of my plus size items seemed good enough to sell. There is a huge market for larger sizes in Phoenix where people can't afford to buy new. Might want to look into a big and tall section for your store in Phoenix. Nevertheless your support of outside agencies left a very positive rating in my book.
Nice shop, nice brands, items generally in good condition, but hard to find a t-shirt lower than $10 and shoes cheaper than $25. Not exactly a "thrift shop" then.
They only buy brand new cloths.they give lot of silly reasons for that.i wasted nearly 2 hours there .i think this place is not worth for selling your items. UPDATE:REPLYing to the owners response---> The cloths what I brought to your shop was in excellent condition but please don't change your buying needs every hour which will be difficult for the people to sell their cloths in your store .The people who sells their cloths are also your customers and not only the buyers.
