It's a nice place to spend an afternoon. The animals are wonderful to look at in this small, quaint zoo. However, there aren't enough animals to be seen to blow your mind like some of the bigger zoos.
The zoo in Waco is amazing. And having been cross country to numerous zoos across the U.S I can say it's in the top 10, now while not as big as some others. The facilities are top notch, and you can tell the keepers there have the animals best interest at heart. The walk around the zoo has plenty of shade for those hot summer days, there is a giraffe feeding deck but it can sell out so may want to check with admissions when they start. Also make sure to visit the Orangutan exhibit and see the baby, one can spend the entire day just watching him.
The People !! No just kidding The Animals and landscape it is very peaceful walking through The Zoo which sounds like an oxymoron but it really is peaceful ,"Great place to visit and even a nicer place to live".
My kids love it. So did me and my husband. Highly recommend going if your in Waco
Great zoo that has a lot to offer for its size. My family has been going here for over 3 years and we still enjoy going every 2 months or so. The members pass is more than worth it plus it works at other zoos. We made up the entire price of the members pass in one trip to the Milwaukee zoo.
My kids and I love visiting the Waco zoo and visit often with our annual pass. We schedule play dates there with other moms, go as a family, or go when the kids and I need an outing away from home. Of the options available in Waco, this is our favorite place to purchase a year pass to, so we get one every year!
Most underrated and best zoo I've been to. Very affordable and more exhibits then you'll have energy to even see!
This place was so much fun. We went in Sept. And most of the animals were up and enjoying life. It's best to go as soon as they open to there's less people and that's when feeding time is. The layout was spacious and easy to understand. There's a kiddie play area if you have kids with slides.
The family and i had a great time a must go to place and dont forget the camera to many beautiful animals to see
Great zoo. Well maintained. Cleaned to standard. Directions well posted. Parking lot clean. Price ok. Location ok. Staff friendly and helpful. Expansions upgrades and renovations were on going, but not in the way or unsafe.
Fun time for all. Take time to feed the giraffe it's worth it. Had a blast with the family
I'd give it 0 stars if I could. Every animal was crowded and grouped together. There was trash all over the park and some in the enclosures. I feel as though forcing the animals to paint for human enjoyment is very cruel. Beautiful beautiful animals.
Having been to the Austin Zoo, Capital of Texas Zoo and the San Antonio zoo, we really enjoy Cameron Zoo the most. It's not so big that you are endlessly walking, it's pretty inexpensive and the animals seem really well cared for. Plus, they have a cute kids area with a little splash pad, slide and giant snake you can climb on. The food option aren't bad or that expensive, which is surprising. All in all it's a great way to spend the day with the kiddos.
Great zoo with a decent variety of animals. Price of entry was very affordable and they are very kid friendly. Great place to go if you're look for affordable family entertainment.
We Always love to have quick Family fun activities. This is one of our favorite places to go have them, when we come from out of town. The only thing we missed was seeing more animals, there were several animals that our kiddos love to see when they come and they were not available. Maybe they will be there next time. Thanks for providing a safe, clean environment for visitors!
While visiting Waco, my family and friends decided to spend a day at the Cameron Park Zoo. We arrived around 2pm, which looking back now we should have planned to arrive earlier to spend more time there. The zoo closes everyday at 5pm, but we were able to see each exhibit and take plenty of pictures. There is ample parking and the entrance fee is $10/person. I believe all the animals at this zoo are all rescued animals. The grounds are beautiful and easy to walk around as well. The people in our group ranged in age from 13 to 46 and we all enjoyed the day. You should too. Enjoy.
Very nice park. Clean and very well layed out. A few cool places to cool off in between other exhibits. A++ from me.
I absolutely love coming here with my family at least weekly! The membership pays for itself within a few visits. The staff are knowledgeable and very friendly.
Always love coming here. One of wackos hidden treasures
Not crowded at all, air conditioned exhibits placed very well throughout the park. Food was inexpensive as far as places like this go. If i didnt live near Houston, i would come several times!
10/10 love this zoo so much we got memberships and recommend it to everyone we know! Their commitment to properly caring for animals as well as animal conservation is impeccable.
This zoo was very nice and quiet. Also easy to navigate. You can feed the giraffe three pieces of lettuce for $5. Definitely a fun place for family friends and children.
Looks small on the outside, but it was pleasantly spread out. The enclosures will gorgeous and we loved how open they looked compared to a bunch of bars at other zoo's.
Private event in the evening, fabulous Zoo! White Rhinos in the dark is an extraordinary experience!
A beautiful and very well-maintained zoo. The animals are cared for extremely well. There are wagons available for rent, and there is a snow-cone truck open inside the main entrance during the summer. It's a nice-sized zoo, perfect for spending a couple of hours in. If you're a local, I'd invest in membership so you can go every weekend. Special events and keeper talks happen all the time, check their website.
We had an awesome time at the Cameron Park Zoo! The layout of the exhibits was great and they have lots of educational signs placed so that you can learn more about the animals. They had a huge animal variety and had organized them into zones that you can find them naturally. The kids particularly liked the Texas area and otter slide.
Wonderful zoo very clean you can get super close to the animals their habitats are huge!
Great Zoo! It's big but not so big that you don't get to see everything. Despite the heat we got to see most of the animals. It was clean and obviously well maintained. It felt very open. The employees were very friendly!!! GREAT PRICE!!!!!!!! $10 for an adult and $7 for kids!! This was my first visit and I WILL be back.
We love the zoo. It is clean and the animals are taken care of. During our visit we got to see the staff do some enrichment with the fish, turtle and eel. They got to have fun with a frozen treat.
As was stated by several others, the zoo is not too big to see it all in an easy day. The layout of the walkways gives the impression that it is larger than it is. The smart use of thick clumps of bamboo and other plants ensures that you can focus on the animals in front of you without the distraction of other visitors or animals that may be close but shielded from view.
We loved everything about this place. Great environment and the kids had lots of fun seeing the animals. Overall, this is a great place to go out and discover and learn as well.
Had a great time with the family, very nice zoo where you are able to see the animals in a great habitat. Also, very cheap price to get in.
Love this zoo. The animals seem healthy & well taken care of. Most viewing areas are large so you never feel crowded. Most of the park is shaded so even in the summer it's bearable. Great exhibits & lots of diversity.
We arrived at 1:00 in the afternoon and there was no crowd which was nice. Some of the animal exhibits or closed when we arrived on a Wednesday. Admission with a military discount was only $18 for 2 people which was more than fair. The amount of buzzards was a bit of a turn off looking at the flamingo area was just eerie and not pretty at all. Have gone many times in the past approximately 10 years ago definitely feel it has declined since then but still a good zoo
Great price, great value. Lots of shade and the exhibits with A/C (indoor reptiles, aquarium, etc...) are well spaced to give breaks from the heat of the day. The kids' playground is totally shaded and has a splash pad, so be prepared for wet clothes! Bathrooms are spaced easily for potty trainers and stroller access is easy throughout the whole facility.
Loved coming here with my kids! The animals are so neat to look at. I like the size of the place. I've been here twice and it was great both times. I don't mind seeing the same animals. They are awesome. My kids really enjoy it.. We have not eaten here but there are restrooms and a gift shop. It's all good there.
The zoo is great. It is inexpensive to get in, there is plenty to see, and lots of shade. We thought this was a great way to spend the better part of the day. It also makes a nice stop between Dallas and Austin. I would certainly go back!
For a city the size of Waco, this zoo exceeds expectations. The variety and size of exhibits is great. It takes about 2-2.5 hours for my kids and I to get through. They have a lovely playground with a splash pad. There's lots of shade as you walk through and also two air conditioned aquariums. We've gone throughout the year and there's always a great selection of animals out.
Beautiful paths a hiking trails. Animals well cared for.
Surprisingly good zoo. Layout is great, with wide pathways and lots of twists and turns that give the illusion that its bigger than it really is. Excellent opportunities to get close to the animals.
We enjoyed Cameron Park zoo very much. Admission was reasonable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Grounds were neat and clean, as were bathrooms. The animals appeared content and the zoo employs wall-less enclosures which are much more a pleasure to view, as well as much more freeing for the animals. The variety was good. We got there about opening time and stayed until closing; between animals, food, and splash pad, there is plenty to do for the full day.
Thus is a very nice zoo. It is small enough that both of my daughter's (5&3) can walk the whole thing. Nice variety of animal species, exhibits are easy to see and animals are usually highly visible. Nice playground towards the end with a splash pad. The aquarium area has very good air conditioning. Nice overall setup and flow to walk through. The otter slide is always a big hit, you slide through the exhibit. I'm 6ft 2in and last visit I was 350 pounds and was able to slide through comfortably. Numerous bathrooms available. Several snack shacks throughout. Normally during summer there is a kona ice truck in the zoo. Very stroller & wheelchair friendly. Free parking
Me, my kids and grand kids visited here on Mother's Day. All of us agreed, it was a great way to spend the day. The park was well laid out and clean. There was a good variety of animals to see. There were several spots throughout the park that you could grab a bite to eat and relax before continuing on your adventure. I'd definitely recommend checking this place out for yourself.
We loved the experience we had at this zoo! The trails are very easy to follow. We just stayed on course with the map they provide you with. Either way it’s hard to get lost. The zoo is smaller than most we’ve visited but we got to see every animal we hoped to see. Animals habitats are well designed and provided informative material for learning. I’ve never been to a zoo with bad maintenance, but it’s probably good to mention that this one is no exemption. Grounds were clean and we felt it was utterly safe for our little ones to freely explore about. We’ll definitely return when passing through Waco again!
This is a pretty good sized zoo, so wear your walking shoes. It has a good variety of animals, plus an aquarium, a reptile, and bats/owls exibits. There's a slide/ play area half way through it with bathrooms. They have an area that you can feed the giraffes and it has a gift shop and a little food area up front. Tickets are reasonable too. The kids had lots of fun looking at all the animals.
Great place to take the kids! It’s not terribly big so you don’t feel absolutely exhausted when you leave. I love the playground area and built in otter slide for the kids.
Beautiful, clean and well maintained zoo. Animal's look healthy and have room to roam. Worth a trip for sure.
What a wonderful hidden gem! Great for young & old. Easy accessibility for folks with mobility issues. There are some hills and steep grades to maneuver. Great events too. Season passes are very reasonable in cost if you will be able to use them. I love this zoo as much as my kids!
Really nice and simple zoo. Small but really friendly. Has a play place for kids. Affordable prices and a very pleasant visit.
Was a very well care for Zoo. we went early enough to watch the animals being fed and it was very fun to see all of the animals up. The African exhibits where my favorite and I really enjoyed the giraffe's elephants and white rindos.
Cameron Zoo it's more than just looking at the animals. It's a relaxing atmosphere with more. It is running water and beautiful landscape. It has the information on the walls about other animals. I like the overall feel of the park and what I got from it.
This place is so beautiful, have been to many zoos and this was my favorite. So much shade for a hot day! Really inexpensive. Will definitely go back!
Great zoo. Many animals that are well taken care of. Educational information on large easy to read signs. Large free parking area. Food a d drinks for sale.
We absolutely love Cameron Park Zoo! We visit fairly regularly. It's a good size. One could see the whole park in a half day visit. My kid really loves the playground and we usually spend a good amount of time there.
Wonderful! My daughter loves it. Only downside is some of the animals look kind of sad
The zoo was really nice! It was clean and well maintained. It was on the smaller side, however, it was perfect since we could actually see everything and not rush through. There is plenty of shade and a good mixture of indoor/outdoor exhibits to cool off. They also have a wagon rental area, a splash pad, and several kid friendly play areas!
Love how open the Zoo is. However, beware if you have any good exposed there will be bees all around you.
Wonderful very well laid out zoo. My only criticism is with this being Texas and summer you should have confession stands better placed. I only saw 1.
I like that the course is pretty straightforward and not a lot of branching out. You get to see the animals closer than many other zoo. Kind of missed out on a couple animals because they're unavailable and some of the felines seems to be asleep.
Very nice zoo in a charming city. Very accessible from Interstate 35, the zoo is beautifully landscaped, with attractive, spacious enclosures for the large variety of animals. The layout makes it easy to view all the animals and visit all the exhibits. The zoo is located in a beautiful park within Waco. Over the years we have made multiple visits and will continue to do so. The photos attached can't do justice to the actual sights.
My Grandmother started taking me to the Dallas Zoo in the 60's, and I continued the tradition with my children. When we moved to Central Texas we found Cameron Park. We had a toddler with a stroller, a Great-Grandpa in a wheelchair, and everyone in between. What a great place for our bunch! Walkways and bathrooms are easy to navigate. Exhibits allow all heights of people to see and enjoy. Plenty of shade, snacks, and places to rest along the way. Over the years both our memories and the exhibits have expanded, and let's face it: Who doesn't want to feed a giraffe???? Many people have struggles with the moral aspects of Zoos in general. Seems to us that if the Cameron Park team has gone to such great lengths to make us feel at home that they are doing the same and more for the animals!
A hidden gem. An AZA accredited zoo in Waco. Great exhibits and friendly keepers. Can bring in snacks and water - the cafe has amazing food, but is a tad small inside, but plenty of seating outside. Will be going back often!
Awesome zoo! Hadn't been in a while and it is amazing. Beautiful shade, displays, animals. Loved it.
This is a BRILLIANTLY designed zoo. Seen and visited many zoos in my time, & this is by far the GRANDEST! Many ways for the children to interact with the animals. The pathways are comfortable for two way traffic, they are well shaded for very pleasant walking. Habitats were well thought out. Indoor habitats give breaks for the Texas heat. Sooo much more.... We will visit again.
A very beautiful zoo. It was nice to see open environments for some of the animals. Had several places to rest with trees shading the benches and tables. Staff was very friendly and polite. Several waterfalls and wildlife.
Great zoo. I feel sad for caged animals but good place for kids to go see animals they wouldn't get to without going across the world.
Always wonderful. Not crazy over priced. Animals always out and moving, playing or sunbathing. Cute little playground and an otter slide..yup your kid slides through an otter enclosure as they swim around it. Kids loved it. Plenty of shaded spots. Great trip.
Going on 3 years with a membership to the zoo my family loves going! Always fun and they let you know what animals won't be displayed that day before entering
Best zoo around In my opinion. San Antonio and Austin zoos we're much too hot. But this Waco zoo has plenty of shade!!
Great zoo for the kids and families to enjoy. About 3 hours of time being there.
We always have an amazing time when we visit Cameron Park Zoo. Even though it was fairly hot, most of the animals were out and most were active. My favorite is the reptile house, and their Gaboon Viper is simply stunning. Always a wonderful time.
Hidden gem. Great zoo, price reasonable. Lots of baby animals. Plenty of shade, lots of places for viewing. Can bring in own food and drinks. Great for whole family! !
Great Great Great! Such a nice place, wasn't even expecting to go. Was visiting the Dr. Pepper museum and was leaving and just so happened to drive past the zoo. Decided it look nice and went in. Was kinda bummed to find out that most of the outdoor animals weren't out for display due to rain. But still got to see the birds, water dwelling creatures, tigers, lions, rhinos, elephants and others. But still an awesome experience!
Loved it! The animals were beautiful and the price to get in very affordable.
Great small zoo. Easily walkable for my 80 year old father,. Great mix of indoor exhibits to get out of the heat and sun. We bought memberships, and go once or twice a month
Very nice zoo. I did feel bad for the black bear. He seemed to be by himself and you can tell he wasn't very happy at all. Other than that, all of the animals looked well taken care of, and the zoo trail offered multiple places to sit in the shade if you needed to rest. Very well thought out.
I'm a senior and I go to the zoo quite often. There's a nice array of animals, which all look well taken care of. Also the zoo is built in city park, so it's hilly and shady. A really nice place to go.
Awesome zoo. Very quaint and small enough to see everything
Great Zoo. The grounds are well kept, good exhibits and lots of shade in between. Kids love the splash pad to cool off. Not a very large zoo but a great way to spend a couple or so hours. Restrooms need a little attention but it’s a zoo.
Nice zoo that is not too far from Austin area, and they don't charge for parking like Dallas Zoo. Not the biggest zoo, but great for young kids. I recommend this place for kids especially for kindergarten age group. My boys (6 & 4) also loved their playground area.
Using a San Antonio zoo membership, we managed to get three adults and a child in for under $30. The zoo is so much nicer than I went in expecting. If you've been to the zoo in San Antonio, this one is much nicer and the park itself is much cleaner. Went during non-peak hours and we had the park almost to ourselves. Definitely would recommend for the variety of wildlife alone.
Every time is different. Weather was great today, cloudy and in the 60's so more animals and more energy!!
The animals seem to be taken a really good care of. We were entertained and informed. The only issue that has really bothered us was trash in the orangutans space. The orangutans were playing with it and holding in the mouth. I hope the trash and legos get cleaned up.
Wonderful Zoo. Very lively and attractive animals. Loved the visit. Food is really bad.
Love this zoo! Perfect size and nicely laid out! The Jeep strollers are a big hit with my granddaughter!
This was my second visit and won't be my last. I took my soon early in the day so all the animals were out and active, the paths were clean and wide to allow for groups. Food pricing was of course outrageous, but you can bring outside food. Plenty of shaded areas....wear good comfy shoes.
Gotta write a good review since I was skeptical of there being a legit zoo in Waco - no offense to Waco. The zoo is essentially what you're looking for if you don't want to look down at a map before each exhibit to figure out where you are in relation to the map and where to go to next. The trail leads you easily through each exhibit and the best part of this zoo is the horticulture and plentiful trees, bamboo, and other vegetation that surrounds and provides much needed shade throughout the zoo. We went a few days ago and coupled with the humidity it was nothing short of an extremely hot and humid central Texas summer day. However, with the plentiful shade and air cooled indoor exhibits it was a much appreciated escape from the heat. There are lions, and tigers, and bears at this zoo! So, bring the family for a meager $10 bucks per adult (children under 2 free, I think). I've been to much bigger zoos and I'd prefer going to this one any day of the week because of it's awesome layout and price. Good job Waco ;)
My 1st time coming too this zoo. It was nice. I went on a non crowded day so much to see and it doesn't cause a arm and leg to get in. They also.have wagons you can rent.
I Love this zoo. It has lots of shade trees along a beautiful pathway full of animals that are close up in there habitat. This zoo is family friendly too. They have a playground for kids to get the wiggles out and benches everywhere for adults to take a break. Each theme of the zoo is clearly marked . It is a day of fun for sure! Excellent value for a very small price!
We visited the zoo as a portion of a birthday celebration for your grand daughter and several friends. The weather was cool and almost perfect for being outdoors and there were only small crowds. The overall zoo and animal enclosures were reasonably clean and the animals appeared to be in good condition. The snack bar and restrooms were very clean. Our only disappointments were that not all the animals were available to see and the price of admission and refreshments are a bit expensive. Overall the outing was a success and everyone in our group had fun.
I like to say you can tell a lot about a city by visiting its zoo. The folks in Waco built a zoo that is such a gem. It is well shaded, well maintained and well laid out. The entire zoo can been seen in the morning or enjoyed over the course of an entire day.
This place is often more of a small intimate zoo.... took our kids and our grand kids here everybody loved it.... Highly recommend this place
Awesome park. Animals have plenty of space and seem well fed and they are active...
This is a smaller zoo, but one of the best zoo's I've ever been too!! We loved it! Clean grounds, friendly staff, and very nice animal enclosures. Well worth every penny. Great place for an afternoon with family and friends viewing exotic animals.
I am very disappointed with this Zoo and the way they decided to handle business with their "Membership Customers". Upon moving to the area I purchased a year membership, which was to include a Behind the scene tour. (The reason I purchased the membership) They ask that you email at least 2 weeks before your requested visit date, which I did 4 times within the year membership... I never got a response to any emails. I have also called numerous times and left messages for the person that is suppose to be in charge. My calls have gone unanswered and never returned. My membership is now over and I would never renew or visit again based on the choice of actions! I am a very dissatisfied customer and I would like to save any other folks from the hassle and headache I encountered in dealing with the Cameron Zoo. There are other options and many other places that will appreciate your business and money. I highly recommend saving your money and not purchase!
Great for a small zoo. Well worth the trip.
Its not so huge that its an all day affair. Its cheap, shaded well, and the animals seem well cared for. Most of them have decent sized enclosures.
Awesome zoo!!!! They're really expanding and making it nice. I honestly think it holds up well to the Ft. Worth zoo. One plus is the exhibits are much closer together!
We love this zoo! Great exhibits that let you get up close to the animals. The animals seem healthy and some even interacted with us in their own way.
Beautiful, inexpensive place to walk and check out the animals. Wished it stayed open a little longer
One of the best zoo's I've been to. The zoo closes at 5:00 PM daily so we came in the morning and made a day out of it. We had a great time! The zoo has quite a bit of shade which made our time even more comfortable and enjoyable. It's an absolutely stunning zoo. I highly recommend it.
I got there a few minutes before opening! Definitely recommend! Huge amount of shade, cool indoor exhibits, and helpful staff all around. I was here from out of state, and would love to travel back and visit again!
First time here and really enjoyed this zoo! The beautiful day and surprisingly, to me, low volume of people on a Saturday helped contribute I think to the overall experience. Regardless I definitely appreciated, for the most part, everything from the layout, cleanliness, animal enclosures, variety, price, and so forth. It happened to sprinkle a bit in the latter afternoon and whether the rain or time of day played a role, seemed some of the animals were a bit more lively and enjoyed seeing the activity. Would have liked to stayed a bit later into the evening, especially with summer, plenty of daylight and temperature would slightly cool down, but alas closes at 5pm. Perhaps this could be extended some during summertime? Otherwise a great experience and captured some pretty interesting moments that I can share with friends and family.
Great zoo with a great variety of animals. Not as large as the Fort Worth zoo, but definitely not disappointing. They have cafes and gift shops so you can take a break and rest your feet. Kids love the aquarium exhibits.
What a great experience every time I go. There's always something going on for visitors to come and see or return and see. Many different exhibits of all types of animals in their natural habitat that makes for an almost "real" animal encounter. The elephant's are tons of fun LOL
Really nice zoo. Bigger than expected but very shaded walking paths. The exhibits were very nice
Small-ish walkable zoo with a ton of great animals: orangutans, lions, tigers, Jaguar, Buffalo, rhino, eagles, giraffes. Nice shady walkways as well. We were there right when it opened on a Sunday and saw many of the huge snakes eating bunnies and rodents in the reptile house. (Eek!)
Always a good time some issues with Sanitation for the price we pay you would think it wouldn't be a bug issue or sanitation issue it's five stars because we just love seeing all the animals but please do more to keep a clean environment as you can see the very dirty glass that's not fingerprints that's build-up
Wide variety of animals for all to enjoy. Two food locations and nice wide, level walkways for strollers in most areas. Easy access from IH35.
A hidden treasure in the great Cameron Park. If you come to Waco for Magnolia, the Mammoth digs, or anything else you should make time to visit this nice small town zoo. Great shaded walkways and some really nice aquarium type features. The African Savannah is open and great up close views. The snake area is one of the better ones we've seen...look for the 2 headed rat snake (behind glass). The $10 adult price and $6 kids is worth every penney!
Haven't visited since my 5th grade field trip and it's still a great zoo. Parking was good and admissions are cheap. An easy zoo to maneuver in, rarely referenced the map. Non-smoking and family-friendly.
August 3, 2019 During an adoption encounter with the animal we adopted I was able to propose to my gf. Not only did the staff provide a top of the line tour for us, they went out of their way to not spoil the surprise. Along with that the special event coordinator was able to pull this all together in less than a week. Thank you so much to the staff here!
We had a great time visiting the zoo. The spaces seemed a little small for the animals, I'm hoping there are areas we could not see that are accessible to them. The layout was awesome for hot Texas summers. And we got to see 90% of the critters ( some just aren't cooperative). The bat house was real treat. We'll be going back.
I have to revise my review. I spoke with Johnny, who ensures the animals are well cared for at the Waco Zoo. I expressed my concerns about the front small shallow pool ( that it was dry)for the Rhinos to get wet and wallow in. He said the male is like 40 years old (like 100 to us) and Johnny did not want him to injure himself because the slope is a bit steep for him. However there is another pool higher up the Rhinos can get in. And, the green water in the mote? That's because the water for the waterfalls are controlled by the City of Waco and when they are working on a specific area they cut of the water and that may feed into one of the waterfalls of the Zoo. Therefore, the stream flowing through the mote will get stagnant and may turn green. His staff do test the water to ensure it is not toxic. Today the waterfall is flowing. Johnny was very kind to answer my questions and was not a bit angry I called about my concerns. Very nice man. I could tell he cares for the animals at the Waco Zoo. Thank You Johnny. (I really enjoy going to the Zoo. I'm sorry to say this was my 1st trip to this zoo since it moved to Cameron Park. Cameron Park is the perfect place for a Zoo. Since this was my 1st time here I have nothing to compare to. Mostly good and interesting. I was saddened though with the completely mossy water in one area. And, the Rhinos had no water to submerge themselves. None to even get wet. That concerned me. The Elephants next door had good clean water they could get into. Maybe I came at a time they were in the middle of something but feel the water issue should always be clear and plentiful.) Overall I had enjoyable time though and thought there were some good exhibits.
Really nice zoo with open natural habitats for the animals. I especially enjoy the herpetarium and the educational efforts of the zoo.
Huge and amazing. So many animals you could kill a whole day there. The small children's park inside the zoo was very cool. The layout and lush organic natural appearance of the walkways was well executed. Kudos to the Waco zoo for getting it right.
The bathrooms were impressively clean the janitorial system are great. Of course I also enjoyed the facts of the entertaining animal exhibits. While I was there I Had the opportunity to have two of their refreshments I had their Lemonade and red flash. At the establishment they own zoo cup which as long as it's selling u can refill wich I found pleasing yet you do have to pay the price of 10$ it comes with a straw and lid unlike their reg. Cups for safety of their animals of course. I enjoyed my time here and it's amazing for families I saw many there and they were always smiling.
Easy to walk and fun time with the kids. Go early to see the animals up and moving. They have great indoor habitats like an aquarium and reptile room, also a barn with bats and owls! Kids really loved it!!!
