Spandexworld is one of the best fabrics store in Midtown Manhattan. They have huge selections of spandex, Lycra, stretch and many more fabrics across three floors. They have excellent quality and newer fabrics that I didn’t find any other store around the area. The folks were nice and customer friendly and the price are very reasonable. I would surely recommend anyone to visit that store.

Unfriendly customer service from NC. I've ordered from here before and have always had a good experience. However, this recent order I placed was completely wrong from the sample swatch I ordered. I called in only to be dealt with a very rude, unfriendly and unhelpful representative. She argued with me (which was already infuriating) that I didn't order the same fabric from the sample I received, which I DID, and had proof sitting right in front of me. I don't ever leave bad reviews unless I absolutely feel like I was treated completely unfairly, which I immediately felt the moment she began to argue and get an attitude with me. It's a shame because I really like their fabric selection, but they can't be arguing with customers like this.

This is the place to shop if you are looking for spandex fabrics in Midtown Manhattan. They have wonderful imported quality fabrics all over the store. I'm a small business owner and had truly exceptional experience shopping there. They know their business and best part was the customer service. They are all polite and very friendly; not pushing like many stores around the area. I took my time to look around the store and went to their three floors of huge selections. It was an amazing experience and of course the price was very reasonable. I would surely recommend anyone to visit the store if you are in Midtown Manhattan. Don’t have time; you can visit them on the web too.

I purchased a sample of the two types of material I wanted to make a dress, just to ensure that they matched. I love the material and placed an order using the sample sheet sent. Received my material in less than a week and was very excited until I opened it and it was not the same. I called them and they told me I should have included the sample number with the order. However, I placed my order online and they never asked me for the sample number. She took my information and called me 5 hours later to tell me the material they sent me in the sample was out of stock and I could return it for a refund. This will set me pack at least a week on my dress. What’s the point in ordering samples? So, they can make extra money, I guess. I spent $12 on samples and another $60 on material that was not the same.

Be careful if you make orders with Spandex World online. I ordered a sample set weeks before I needed the fabric to make sure I was ordering the right color. It states in their policies that if you order a sample set, you must CALL instead of ordering ONLINE when you go to place an order of that color, as dye lots may change. I am perfectly happy to abide by that; however, I did not call, instead I ordered from their online catalog, using the Product # (10405), but when it came in the mail, it was CLEARLY Product # 684 which I received - and I did have the sample set to compare it to. My sample of #684, when placed on top of the fabric they sent me with my order - the 2 are IDENTICAL. I have been buying color-specific fabrics for a long time, and I do realize that dye lots can change the color, BUT NOT TO AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SHADE! They clearly take their customers for being idiots. Spandex World is trying to swindle their customers by not doing their job thoroughly, and then blaming it on their customers instead of taking responsibility for their mistake! And now I've got to waste my own money and time getting to a FexEx and paying to print out a return label to return the incorrect fabric! For their mistake! Poor customer service! Does anyone have a recommendation for which one of their competitors I should begin shopping with? Because now I must find a new supplier as well!

I came here a couple weeks ago and they are so rude! You can never get a proper response from them. Their customer service is abominable, they barely have any fabrics that are up to date or any use at all and they're NEVER in stock. And do not make orders with them online, I learned this the hard way. I got shipped the wrong swatches and fabrics countless times. When I called them about it they're the ones that are so ignorant about it. I would not recommend.

Fabric is hit or miss. Plain single colour fabrics are good but anything with a print, good luck. Purchased black metallic snake print fabric online, all the metallic rubbed off after flipping garment inside out once. Also purchased the gold snake print which is the same. To add, both fabrics don't look the picture.
