Been a customer for decades. David Butler and his staff are knowledgeable, professional and service- oriented. I'm 6'8" so no idea where the "not for tall guys" comment is coming from. Easily one of the best stores for guys our height and, in season, they have the visiting NBA players as customers to prove it.

Service was dreadful. Went in to spent $2500 on a couple of suits and walked out with nothing. Salesman tried to fit me into the wrong size, offered zero assistance, and then summoned tailor, who sauntered in after 20 minutes to insult me. All bad.

This place is awesome ! Had everything I needed! Being high an a little mighty managed to find somewhere with my size clothing. Coming from the UK i wish I could buy at an online store! The staff were very helpful an always went the extra mile to help find your size. If I ever go back to New York I'll defiantly be back

As weather had become autumnal, dropped in to browse for casual outergarment. Ably assisted by salesclerk in finding desired size and style. Purchased a dark indigo Michael Kors jacket with removal inner lining. Had a nice selection of Robert Graham hosiery but nothing woolen yet.

By far the worst customer service I have dealt with since living in New York City. I've had better customer service at the McDonald's on 42nd St and 7th. So I needed to return merchandise because my dad didn't want the shoes anymore. So I went to this store on 6th avenue and I went to the register. I went up to this Indian man behind the register and told him I had a return. So he took the merchandise and the receipt. He then asked for my contact information (phone, address etc...) I told him that I didn't want to give him that information. I work and study the fashion/retail industry. If you didn't already know this, they use your information to stalk you and keep track of you. After I told him this, he raised his voice at me and said that he needed it to proceed with the transaction. Btw it's illegal in about 25 states (including New York) to tell me that you NEED my information and can't make a transaction without it. So after that fiasco, he told me he didn't have the cash to give to me. Wait what?! It's 3pm in the afternoon and you're telling me that you don't have $150?! I've worked for Prada and Gucci and we always keep money in the register for situations like this. So I told him "I would wait" because I know they had it and they just didn't want to give it to me. So this other sales associate (white, grey hair, 65) came up and was like "you can either wait for a customer to come and spend cash or be productive and let us mail you a check" oh I'm sorry! Did I mail you a check when I paid for this merchandise? Okay so why are you mailing my money back? He then proceeded to say "most customers just use a credit card". He rolled his eyes and kept giving me a bad attitude. So now this company is in debt with me because I have yet to receive my money. They didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. Now my father is pretty upset and won't be shopping there again. Try showing better customer service next time. Spend your money elsewhere because this company doesn't deserve it.

Shopped there as my son is very tall and we had to obtain clothing as our luggage had not arrived with us on our flight!!. Staff pleasant and helpful. Not a lot of choice for younger men but we managed to get what we needed. Very expensive. When we got home 5 days later after washing the shorts the waistband came away in one area of the shorts and a hole appeared in a t/shirt. Sadly unable to take back as we were back in Scotland.

Just a few weeks ago, I went to Rochester Big and Tall and got treated like absolute crap by a flippant "21 year veteran" of the store. The time before that, I spent over $2,700 on a few items...as a matter of fact, over the years, I have had quite few "4 figure" days in there. Anyway, I have complained multiple times via email where i get assured that I will get a call and the issue will be transferred to the Regional offices that cover that store but I hear that the process mysteriously halts. Perhaps that store does big numbers and corporate doesn't want to upset the 'veteran salespeople' there. No excuse for slick, disrespectful comments...Horrible!!!

I just get gift certificates here for a relative who is a regular customer. It's the Sunday before Christmas Eve. They have their normal Sunday hours, closing at 5:00 p.m. So I have to drop everything to get there before they close. Yes, I know I can buy one online, but I don't want to give some crappy looking thing off my printer. It's also the point that they are a retail store and they are not putting the customer first. It does not surprise me to read their many negative reviews, especially with regard to service.

The service is a disgrace. If you need anything delivered - make time and pick it up yourself. It'll be quicker. We set up two part delivery, half same day and the tailored half would arrive in 4 days. As an international client it was vital that the clothes arrives the same day - the international flight was the next afternoon. We've been shopping here for at least 10 yrs - so we trusted their word. That evening the delivery was absent w no notice. We left an email and a phone message reminding of urgency. The next morning the concierge called and was told one hour. Three hours later we call again. They have no intention to send anything until the tailored clothes are done. We FOR THE THIRD TIME explained the issue. The hotel was two minutes from Rochester and our flight was in two hours. It was already afternoon - they had half a day. It took us repeated calls, repeated reminders to get our purchase. Worry over missing the flight. Upon finally visiting the store they were quite rude and claimed this afternoon was the first time they were asked to separate the delivery. DO NOT TRUST THEM W YOUR ORDER. Or else expect days of having to supervise. Prompt service here is a joke!

Big and tall? More like big and wide, nothing for tall guys. Major disappointment both in selection and staff. Come on folks, hardly any pants in 36 inch legs size and you claim to cater for tall people. If I had 50+ inch waist size, the selection would have been better. Th efew pants that were available in 43/36 when I visited had a leg cut so wide, both my legs would have fitted inside one trouser leg. Seems that big & tall always go together here, tall and slimmer cuts (yes, I realize 42 inch waist is not that slim, but still) are nowhere to be found here.
