These shirts are amazing! I've been buying off the rack most of my life and though I'm lucky enough to fit pretty well into a specific brand; nothing compares to a custom shirt. I first ordered a tuxedo shirt for my wedding and it fit perfectly. Since then I am slowly trying to switch all my dress shirts because they can be a bit pricey but I'm so happy I have. I now dread having to wear my older shirts when I'm behind on laundry. Hopefully by the end of the year, all my shirts will be Proper Cloth!

I have ordered about 6 or 7 shirts from Proper Cloth and am very pleased with the shirts and the customer service. I love being able to get shirts that fit me well in the waist as I am thin and even a tapered shirt bought at a store does not fit as well as these custom shirts. I especially appreciate that I was able to return the first shirt because I didn't get the size quite right (too loose at the waist). I also was able to return a heavy weight oxford shirt when I realized I did not like the weight of the shirt. I got a medium weight shirt as a replacement and am very happy with that weight. All in all I am very pleased with being able to get custom shirts from Proper Cloth. I love being able to get essentially a perfect fit shirt with various other customizations like making the diameter of the left cuff a quarter inch bigger to accommodate a wrist watch.

I love Proper Cloth shirts. I don't even waste my money on dress shirts from department stores anymore. The algorithm for the custom fit is very good. Having said that, I tweaked my custom fit slightly from the original algorithm on subsequent orders. However, for simply answering a series of questions, even the original shirt fit better than any off the rack dress shirt I have purchased in the past from a department store. Besides the custom fit, the option to add a monogram and other customizations on the collar, placket, buttons, etc., make these shirts worth the money. Don't hesitate to try Proper Cloth.

I'm 6'3", 195 lbs, and don't like to spent more than I have to on clothing. Therefore, finding reasonably priced shirts in stores that fit me is next to impossible. Proper Cloth has been the solution to this 20+ year problem I've had. They utilize an easy to use website that clearly and simply walks you through the fitting process. My first shirt with them fit perfectly. Then your measurements are saved for your next shirt, then just order shirts down the road as you need them. I have a huge neck and a normal sized body with "sloping shoulders" ("big traps" sounds better I guess - maybe I should say that instead). Off-the-rack 17 1/2 x 33 shirts always take a ton of tailoring to look rok for me because they are gigantic in the shoulders and mid-section. By the time they are re-worked, the pocket is in a weird location and the fit is just bizarre. And, the added cost of reworking them makes them expensive. Some years ago, I started having bespoke shirts made, and it was a whole new world. But, the expense and the wait were the downside. With Proper Cloth, I uploaded the measurements I knew, answered some questions about my body type, picked a fabric, and - believe it or not - an almost perfectly fitted shirt showed up on my door two weeks later. With my next shirt, I tweaked a couple of little things (different collar, bigger cuff on my watch side), and everything is perfect. Ordering is easy, the website presents a pretty good representation of the fabrics, the service is fast, and the shirts fit great. Couldn't ask for anything more.

I Very Much like my Proper Cloth hounds-tooth double fabric long sleeve shirt... super soft and comfortable... and it gets better with washing... it is also warm. with a light tee on underneath, it braves the Montana 40's nicely. It took a couple tries to get the sizing right but once it is on... wow, hard to buy a rack shirt again... I would recommend Proper Cloth to anyone.

Every shirt fits comfortably, and I am not easy to fit due to ratio of neck, shoulder and arm length. They have great customer service. I had never bought custom fitted shirts on line.... I never thought it possible. I had a cruise coming up, and decided to retire my old Tuxedo shirt. I followed the fitting guidelines and from a description of my height weight etc the shirt came in fitting like a charm With one exception. The sleeves were too short. This is strange as the sleeves size recommended is the one I wear on off the rack shirts. In any case, I called the NYC based Customer Service number (I repeat that is a NYC based CSR.... not overseas) I explained the problem and they decided to ship new shirts right away and credit me back when they received my free return. This all worked like a charm. I now have my correct shirt size on their file. I will be surely using it again.

I have had custom shirts from local Haberdashers for almost two decades. The clean fit and polish as well as the ability to get colors and styles that fit into my overall wardrobe were the key values. Invariably the Haberdasher would keep the specs of my shirt to themselves. Proper Cloth allows me to be more involved and to tweak over time my fit depending on my "weight" as well as the style I like to wear. Several shirts ordered and no complaints. Free first alteration was they key hurdle for me as I was concerned about getting the measurements right in the first place.

The best thing since sliced bread! Hands down. I went into the shop in March and got fitted. Then I ordered my first shirt a popover. After it arrived I have not stopped wearing it any chance I get. I just recently order some dress shirts, cashmere sweater and a sport coat. Very pleased. Proper Cloth is the real deal. It might take a couple of tries, but if you go through their process, you'll get a shirt that fits perfectly. It comes at a cost, but it isn't much more than buying off-the-rack and having significant tailoring done. Also, the result you get will be better since the shirt was made from scratch to a particular size. You can't get that from buying a bigger shirt and having it cut down.

Only place I buy my shirts now. Very easy to use and they ship you everything you need to return it with the shirt, for FREE ADJUSTMENTS. Don't stress if you don't know how or don't trust yourself to measure yourself. Just find your favorite dress shirt, go to the website for the store you bought it from and get the shirt measurements from there. Then think about everything that is slightly off. E.g. sleeves are always too short for me because I am tall and thin and thus wear a traditional medium, so I add a few quarter inches. I like my collar to fit right up against the skin, so i make the collar a bit smaller. I make the shirt longer so it stays tucked in better, and then I make it thinner in the chest and waste so it looks very well tailored. You will notice a huge difference and so will others, consciously or subconsciously.

I really like that you can tweak the size as you go. I have done simple changes like adding to the cuff size for a watch, etc with ease. You pay a little more but you get a shirt that fits.

I am a fan of the product and service. Website is fine; not great but fine. If you live near Manhattan, it is worth it to pop in to the showroom, try on, get measured, see fabrics in person. Once you are set up, it is somewhat easy to pick fabrics and order more shirts from the website.

Buying shirts off the wall (retail) doesn't make sense to me anymore in today's day when you can get a perfectly fitting shirt and design it to the way you want it to look. Absolutely fantastic site! I am 6' 2" and have very long arms on a very average length torso with wide shoulders. So, buying a shirt off the rack usually results in it either looking short in the arms or like a pup tent in the body. No longer an issue with Proper Cloth! My go-to for all my shirts now.

Amazing custom product for the price. There is literally no reason to purchase off the rack any longer. Their customer service is great, too. I had to have a shirt re-made, because I didn't calculate my measurements correctly. I simply took a few photos of the fit, returned it and they made another one free of charge.
