This is the downtown location of Barneys store. Has a pretty nice selection and somewhat hipper vibe. It’s only been open for a few years. Store feels modern and fresh. Has a architecturally interesting staircase that runs through the middle of the store. There is also a Freds inside which has reliable meals and service,

The store is beautifully laid out & not as well-trafficked so it's good for a more slow-paced enjoyable shopping trip. This is, however, definitely a smaller location than the Madison Avenue location. I was a bit disappointed with the lack of variety in some items, but I think that's to be expected with the size of the location. I was really happy with the service throughout my visit, people were consistently very kind.

The Suit and Overcoat that I purchased there in 1969 was a perfect fit as if it was tailored-made.I passed it on to my Nephew, who is 52 years old. He still has it in his closet since he was 16 years old because he is the same size today as he was then!

I wanted to give feedback on customer service at the downtown Manhattan location today. After browsing the cosmetics department looking for my signature fragrance Frederick Malle, I finally asked an employee for help. The girl was at the Chantecille counter and was wearing a white uniform, she seemed annoyed I asked and corrected the way I pronounced the brands name with a rude condescending attitude. She then said she couldn't help me and said she'd find someone else. I was the only person in the department and getting help was like pulling teeth. My last experience was very similar at the uptown location so I went to the Frederick Malle store and bought over 1000$ from the brand direct. I figured I would try the downtown location since I'm staying in the area on business. My overall experience with Barneys customer service is horrid and I will not return, I also had a horrible experience when shopping for a Goyard bag at the uptown location, I too then went to Goyard and purchased the bag with superior service. If department stores want to stay in the game then they MUST step up their customer service. I thought Bloomingdales service was bad but Barneys is by far the worst in the city, I will stay with Bergdorfs moving forward.

Hmm. What to say. Not for you if you are on a budget but we were shopping for ideas. Very friendly staff of beautiful, hip looking young 'uns. Some interesting pieces from topflight designers but a bit of a letdown. Not the store's fault really - there's so much uninteresting, derivative fashion. Not the place to go if you have your own ideas.

I have never experienced such bad client service ever. Felt like I was shopping at Walmart. Took me 30min to find someone who could assist me in trying on a pair of shoes. After I decided to buy them it took me another 10min to find the sales employee again since he dissapeared and started chitchatting with other sales employees. Found another sales employee who could help me, felt like I needed to beg him to pay for the shoes. While paying he Asked for my ID, I noted the payment policy was different than I was used to, for which I received a very rude and backhanded comment. The comment was so unexpected that I was stunned. I bought the shoes but for sure will never ever buy something again at this nightmare store.

I am not even sure why this store is still open because no one is ever in there. The merchandise are poorly displayed especially on the second floor, shoes on display sometimes are found damaged. Items which are on sale in other department stores such as Saks and Bergdorf manage to remain full-priced on the rack at Barneys. They put sale items back to full price after a while! I had to go in for a return, the salesperson was so in competent that he didn't know how to process the return and had to call the manager, while I was waiting for the manager to come he ran off to help other customers, meantime scattering some off-handed comments. Very odd atmosphere. Two stars for the manager's assistance and the fact this was the original Barney location before Madison. Not comparable to Bergdorf to the least sense.

But when I get home today after work, on Monday night! I was told my package was sent to Boston! So I have to drive to boston to get my package! On Monday night! I drived for one hour! Of their classics with a new. Look. As there new. Designer ended his flower bloom lineup and used. It as a collectible.outting it. Out for thr new year. Item. To watch is Gucci tactics. Vest. A twist of. Military meets sex. As this could be the new look to hit the street and go Viral. Tumi continues to outsell its.l Competitors as Balenciaga pushes the limit with new sneakers line yet falls of McQueens and Valentino s.line.. That's my. Opinion for the time being. Great time shopping and checking out the up and coming fashion trends that are sure to hit out neighborhoods soon enough.

Costumer Service very poor. On a 2nd floor I was ask staff woman to Call another Barneys to ask if they have Moncler gloves. She was argued with me 10 minutes except to make one call. Also she always was very mean. Why just don't do what costumer ask you? It would be safe my time. I was too nice do not ask her name.

We called ahead and the sales person set aside the coat we wanted along with several different sizes. Although this wasn't our regular spot to shop they made us feel as if we were long-time and well-known guests. This place reminds me of shopping at the Carmel Plaza/Ocean Avenue back in the mid 90s of Carmel-By-The-Sea's glory days of fashion -- a great time.

The men’s shoe department was condescending and incompetent when it came to helping me refund a pair of shoes I purchased through the Barneys online store. Through this experience, I learned that this location and the Barneys online store are two separate bodies with practically no communication between one another. In short, the sales associates and manager of the men’s shoe department refused to listen to my circumstance. Their response was that I was lying to them, even when the online store processed my purchase for a refund. It took the manager from the women’s shoe department and nearly two weeks of unclear communication to resolve my issue. I had expected more from Barneys and have no desire to return to their store, let alone purchase a product from them again.

Barney's downtown is rarely crowded during the week, and a more edited collection of product than what you'll find on fifth. Freds, the restaurant is very mediocre and overpriced but the cool, white and totally instagrammable staircase at Barney's Downtown makes up for it.

The women’s floor was a joke. I was one of no more than 5 people shopping and nobody helped me. I tried on a dress and stepped out of the fitting room and made eye contact with employees TWICE and nobody offered to bring me a different size- meanwhile three associates were working with one woman next to me. The sad thing is that I wanted the dress and will now have to purchase at another location since the staff was so inattentive.
