I just visited this spectacle for halloween supplies. The staff was dressed to the 100s... It seems like the type of place where you can go for costume consulting. They have designated sections for everything that one would need to make a stunning costume.

If you are looking for gore / halloween makeup, this is the place to go. They have costumes too, but they are fairly expensive and they dont have as much of a selection as other stores (like Halloween Adventures). The employees are helpful, but the place smells terrible. Like burnt plastic. But if you want some quality gore you have to deal with it.

OMG!!! This place is Awesome I ran into it by mistake I didn't have much time to actually browse I had an appointment to go to. you do need several hours if you don't really know exactly what you want to look around it's so much fun with all the masks wigs and the costumes, magic zombies scary stuff sexy stuff whatever you can think of it's there then you go downstairs and there is the high-end rental costumes that are gorgeous or the clearance part. Unfortunately I didn't have time to take pictures but I definitely will go back! Also whoever I spoke to from the staff there were super nice and super helpful.

Bought a Top hat here just 30 mins ago. Wasn’t sure the size I needed so bought a Medium because it’s “average size”. Turns out it’s too big for the person wearing it and I understand they have a no returns or exchanges policy but when I was buying it, I was even questioning the size and I found out a few mins later it’s too big - literally 30 mins ago when the sale took place so they know I didn’t use it or anything. They could have been a little lenient, show a little customer service and allow me to exchange it for a smaller size. Goodness.

This place is incredible and I can't believe that I've lived this long without ever knowing it existed. Ok, I know this sounds weird, but when you walk in, you can SMELL that it's legit (it's that slightly musky smell mixed with latex that is a signature of any good novelty shop). It's bigger than it looks from the outside (one of its many similarities to a Tardis). There's literally everything you could med here from decorations to costumes to props to makeup. Definitely not to be missed if you work in any industry that requires dressing up. They also have miss mainstream-type costumesand toys. And the people there are SUPER CHILL. Could not hold this place in a higher regard.

Great store with knowledgeable staff. I came in for a goatee and spirit glue. The color I wanted was sold out (I came a week before Halloween so it was to be expected) and they were able to help me figure out the best way to cut and dye the pieces to get the achieved look without damaging my new purchase. Kind and friendly employees and reasonable prices. Will return for all my costume needs!

This is hands down the best costume shop in NYC. And it's also just super fun to go there and walk through the store filled with outrageous props. During Halloween week be prepared to wait outside until they let you in because it's crowded.

I do agree with most reviews on the fact that their costumes are overpriced. You can get better prices at Halloween Adventure for the same stuff. They do occasionally have styles I havent seen other places, and I never had a problem with the staff, on a positive note.

There is literal poop all throughout this store. There is a cat they do not clean up after and the floors are covered in poop. Big rolling logs of poo. Truly horrific. If you buy from here be warned. And they also have bad hours, closing at 7? Booo, and poop on the floor. Nasty place.

This review is because of the owner! RUDE! I just went in there to pick up contacts I ordered online. As I go in and ask him “where do I go to pick up my order of contacts.” He saids down there and just points straight down. I ask him where exactly bc it’s busy, I went ahead of a lot of people bc it was a pick so I wanted to be in and out. He said, “clearly this isn’t a pick up if you don’t know where to do? Is it even paid for? It probably isn’t.” I said it is and show him my email confirmation and then say don’t talk to me like that and ask another employee to help me. Which she does and is super helpful. Another woman asks him where is X and he gives full directions. What’s so hard about doing that with everyone? I was polite. And after I told him don’t speak to me like that he saids “I shouldn’t speak to him like that.” Honestly, I told 3 co workers to purchase things from ya’ll so never again will I use this place. An employee apologized for his behavior after I said you should get rid of him because he lacks customer service. I spent $69.79 in there. But clearly it’s not paid for bc I don’t know where I’m going inside the store.

This place was absolutely amazing! When we walked in they treated us like family and were extremely nice to us. We actually got my plague doctor mask from there and oh my god it’s freaking amazing. On top of that some of their costumes are hand made and they look amazing, i’ve never seen such a large selection of costumes in my life.

You'll find everything from outfits, masks, accessories for your outfit such as staffs etc. It's a large space with 2 floors. Outfits and rentals are downstairs. You'll definitely know its a costume shop once you walk in by how it's decorated and the huge off putting rubber plastic smell that hits you. That alone you can tell it has many masks in the store. Variety is great here for that specialized item you are looking for but the price is way overpriced for these items. If ya have deep pockets and need that special costume come here.

Went here to pick up my daughter's Willy Wonka costume for her play and it wasn't there but they helped me put one together. The customer service was good but let me warn you, no returns or refunds. I bought a rain coat to substitute for Willy Wonka's jacket and it was too big for my daughter and it was fresh out the packet and they wouldn't even let me exchange it.

I had a horrible experience at this place when I traveled so far to get there. Staff was extremely unhelpful. I stood at the magic counter for 15 minutes before being told I can't be behind the open counter. When I asked if she could send someone one to help me. She walked away rudely and no one came. Also they have a poor rabbit locked in a tiny aquarium with no food, water or hay in its cage. I will never come to this place again and I will tell my magic community about this horrific experience.
