You have the feddbacks of real people like you who purchased the services of Boutique Du Vampyre (Costumes) in the area close to Louisiana.
Right now this firm has a rating of 4.6 over 5 and that rating was based on 292 reviews.
As you can see its rating is basically the best one, and it is founded on a large number of opinions, so we may think that the evaluation is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to put scores when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Costumes belongs to the category of Costume store.
This is a great little shop! Everything is hand crafted by local artists and is high quality. I could spend so much money here.
Very nice little shop and very friendly! Bought a book on vampire history and had it signed by author personally!
This is the place you need to visit when you come to the French Quarter. It is an experience!
Meh...same as any other novelty store, I was thinking this place was going to have vintage antiques etc, but what more does one expect from this type of store, the female working here gave me bad vibes since I stepped foot Through the door, it was almost as if she was mad that people were inside of the building with her, random loud exhales of breath almost as if she was annoyed with the questions and our presence. But hey...it’s NOLA what do you exspect? At least I got to bring home a story and picture.
Great little shop in the French Quarter!
Very small shop and yet unique.
I wish they had more authentic vampire tokens or items
Exquisite
My family loved it !
Ok
Small unique store. Helpful friendly knowledgeable staff. Great experience!
Quaint shop with cool stuff all vampire related.
Amazing collection of everything vampire related by local artists. I wish I had more time to spend there!
Fun and interesting.
definitely a trippy visit as on of 3 vampire shops in existence we were told... don't quote me, it was all too bizarre
Needs more vampire related stuff
Really cool store!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! The owner was an absolute delight! She gave us great recommendations to visit around town, and nailed every one of them!
The woman who ran the shop was extremely knowledgeable and it was refreshing to see how much she really loved her shop and what she did. I purchased this cool bag of blood and this special type of candle that Wards off bad Omens and spirits. I would definitely return to New Orleans just to visit the shop again.
Really nice and talkative ladies, cute stuff especially the candles with charms and leather books
Cool novelty shop. They Claim to be the only shop that sells vampire items in New Orleans, knowledgeable staff.
Great shop the only place in town with good shrunken heads
Nice shop with friendly staff. Has very much special things to offer.
My wife, daughter and I spent a nice time learning about places and mysteries, some ghosts stories around the French Quarter. It was a pleasant 2 and a half hours, it went fast. Alexandra, our guide, was well versed in the stories and history of New Orleans. We have visited NO on many occasions in the past, but tours like this one will make you more familiar with the area. There were many other tours going at the same time, their groups consisted of at least 12-15 persons, while we were a total of five. Skipping the online discounts was all worth it. I am looking forward for a food tour in the future. Thank you Alexandra
A nice place to touch base with the local sub-culture.
This is a great place to check out in the city. They carry a lot of unique items despite the small space. The girls working there are incredibly helpful and make great recommendations for places to see in the Quarter.
There were a few original items, but most things were for sale at every other voodoo store for a lot less. I was really hoping to find an awesome vampire artifact, but that didn’t happen. I’d still suggest going, just set your expectations appropriately.
Small store with a definite out there vibe.
We stopped in to say hello to the owner. I love her shop. She is also an animal rescuer. I bought a beautiful black and white corset. Very good price. It will be beautiful with my steampunk outfit. If you haven't been to this shop you are missing out. Be sure to check out the casket purses and carpe noctum t shirt. One of a kind shop with a wonderful owner.
Place will offer a lot of information on there culture in the beliefs in vampires.
One of my favorite shops in French Quarter. I love the medley of Gothic and vampire inspired items sold here. The store keeper also had such a friendly persona which I found as a pleasant surprise considering this is a goth store. She greets everyone who comes in with a smile and a little introduction about the shop, how everything is made by local artists. A must visit shop when in NOLA.
Lovely! Friendly staff & STUNNING pieces!
Had to stop at the only Vampire store in the USA. The staff was very informative and helpful. Enjoyed my visit.
Cool little things. Very commercialized. Like twilight and Vampire diaries. Not the history or as cool as we thought it would be. If you need verbane or any other novelty vampire item they have it.
Super friendly staff. Gave us lots of advice and tips on hidden treasures and what to see.
Small shop with many great finds.
Went on their excellent Mid Town Vampire tour. Great fun and a good activity thaat takes you to cool local business. Definitely hit up their speak easy if you fail in your quest.
GREAT store. My wife and I met the owner and she helped us pick-out the perfect candle for. Then she suggested little spots around the quarter to visit. We did each one, and they were great spots we would have never known about. This store and the owners are a true NOLA treasure. :)
Super cool boutique catering to vampires and voodoo. Totally worth it. If I could give them 6 stars I would!
The staff is friendly, the show room is small but varied. Will likely visit again.
Nestled in the French Quarter, this gem, is what New Orleans is about! This is just the spot we were looking for for reasonably priced, unique items. The Vampire shop keepers are very kind and knowlegable and have a rich knowlege of New Orleans history.. and if you are really kind and super adventureous they just might share a little local secret with you
Fun place to visit. Even got to adopt a vampire.
Amazing store. Everything hand crafted. Based on vampires diaries and the originals
You hear about a lot of places being voodoo like and you hear all the stories about how voodoo is tgis and voodoo is that....and all I gotta say is...You better believe voodoo is REAL!! Anyway this store is full of all type of cool and interesting pieces of all the stuff you heard about! So if you're ever in the area and wanna learn more about what you thought you knew... stop by and aee for yourself! The staff is very kind and informative about all of thee above.
A quirky little shop. They sell maps of the French Quarter with all of the haunted and mystical locations marked
So much neat stuff in there! Its a great store!
Awesome store & people. Went on an evening ghost tour, small group of just friends & our guide was amazing!! Loved it!
They have a resident fangsmith Mavenlore who makes custom vampire fangs they advertise events true to the theme and have a wide selection of vampire related items very interesting shop
Love this little store!! Many locally hand made goods. Awesome selection of locally set or locally authored vampire books. Super knowledgeable staff. Even got invited to a private vampire bar. Awesome awesome place!
Lots of cool stuff. Great place to buy some unique gifts.
Such a unique store!
The shop keeper was wonderful and very knowledgeable.
Interesting little place.
(Visited Jan 13/17, Jan 15/17, and Jan 17/17 - Various Times) Visiting the Boutique Du Vampyre was probably one of the highlights of my trip. I'd done a little research prior to actually going. This one of my FAVOURITE SHOPS in the French Quarter. Handcrafted items from Vampires Diaries, The Originals, True Blood, and Twilight, this quaint little shop has something for every vampire enthusiast. Mortals and Vampires Welcome! Marita, was absolutely welcoming, warm, friendly, everything you could want in a shop host/owner. I NEVER FELT PRESSURED to buy anything. She gave my friends and I information about all the products in the store, told us about the Secret Vampire Bar called "Potions", and was very helpful showing us some of the secret and hidden gems of the French Quarter using her own handmade tourist map. I also had my Tarot read - first time, on Friday the 13th, under a Full Moon, and WOW! What an experience. My friends and I were thoroughly impressed by the hospitality of her and other employees. I highly recommend a visit to this shop for a Tarot Reading, Charm Candle, and information on any Vampire/Dark History Tours. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!
No returns or even partial returns, owner has some clue in running a small business. Just an upset customer.
I love this place, I cam to this store after getting chewed out by another store for having my camera out. And when I walked in, my camera didn't bother them at all. The store itself is really cool and I bought a hand made ouija board. I will definitely be coming back to buy some more stuff.
They are so nice here and a lot of their items are only availible there. Don't be afraid to hop in!
I would work here in an instant, just so I could chat with the staff all day! Hand made items, local authors to read, secret passwords and more; if this is your thing, fellow Goth and vampire lovers, you've GOT TO GO.
Cool little shop, lots of neat handmade items and vampire accessories.
This was a cute little place. It had all of the stuff you would think to find like fangs and cute things like capes for wine bottles. The vampire candles smelled really good too.
One of the most unique shops in NOLA very authentic. Not mass produced it is definitely a gem in the city
One of the most unique and friendliest shops in the French Quarter...even all of New Orleans! If you're a fan of vampires, or simply unique art, clothing, and specialty items, you will love Boutique Du Vampyre. Any trip to New Orleans should include a stop here!
Very interesting. Stop by to see the weird things
Definitely a cool little shop! The atmosphere is great and the staff is very friendly.
So lovely of ancient town. I feel very interesting and full inspiration: streets, old walls, old houses, shops...and a lot of the street artists
Take your time looking around. You may miss something. The girls I met here were so nice.
Very interesting in a exciting way. Be sure to pop in.
Feel the bite!! If your looking for authentic vampire and vampire craft, look no further. Marita has one of the few vampire shops in the world! Stop in for a bag of blood or some zombie skin.. or anything else that tickles your fancy!
Fun, fun, fun. If you go to the French quarter don't miss this boutique. It has all kinds of interesting and mysterious gadgets. It's definitely worth your while
Vampire girl was awesome and very helpful love seeing Eric's crossbow from true blood
Interesting place -- The lady at the Boutique du Vampyre said that there was a speakeasy nearby that served absinthe that "was still illegal". Eh, in 2007, *all* absinthe was legalized in the US, and anything "still illegal" would not be considered true absinthe. Also, beware of any bar that lights your absinthe on fire. This is another tourist gimmick that started in the 1990s in Eastern Europe. If you want to learn more about absinthe and absinthe history, check out the Wormwood Society!
Great place I highly recommend checking this one out and getting your fangs made by the amazing fangsmith
This was cool
I love this shop
We truly enjoyed the vampire lair filled with an array of memorable, distinct items to observe or collect. The items from "True Blood" are especially moving! Make sure to ask about the secret, hidden vampire lounge that can only be entered with the special password! Very macabre and enticing place!!
Very cute store that is small but geared to all paraphernalia to Vampires, whether attracting them or sending them away. I stumbled on it with some friends and look forward to coming back when in the area again.
This place is great! The staff is friendly I promise they don't bite. Lol
Super fun and authentic. You can't pass this place up on a stroll around the French Quarter.
The young ladies working in this shop were very friendly and pleasant. The shop features locally hand-made crafts that will appeal to anyone who is into anything remotely having to do with vampires. Whimsical and attractive items throughout the store. Reasonably priced. I bought a lovely hand-made bat, made of metal, and they gave me a very nice discount due to a scratch on the item. I love when a merchant is willing to go the extra mile for a client and they did just that! Can't wait to visit again next time I'm in New Orleans, and I highly recommend this to anyone who likes vampires, or just enjoys a good giggle.
Very fun store
I absolutely loved this eccentric, fascinating boutique! So much to look at! Ask for the speakeasy word and enjoy it! These ladies sell local artist goodies. #Eccentric #fascinating #vampirelove #localartistsupport #bats #cthulhu #stainedglass #books #capes #ornaments #jewelry #fantasy
A couple months ago me and my bf went to New Orleans and we went to their vampire shop. I wanted to get the double set vampire teeth and the owner of the shop said to us that “they’re hand made and this is the only place that sells these. And their shop online.” It was $60.00. Earlier today we went to a Halloween shop in Indiana and we saw the exact same sets of vampire teeth and it was only $18. She lied to us just to get money off of us.
Stopped by this amazing shop everyday of our weekend vacation. Very friendly staff and helpful. Will go back anytime I'm in the area
Very cool! Just check it out!
Funny store. Cool stuff if you are into it
Super cool shop with a very friendly shop attendant. It’s the only vampire shop in the city and has many trinkets. Def check this place out when you visit. You also get a pass to their secret speakeasy when you leave
Amazing shop with, unique boutique crafts from interesting artists. Great energy, the only thing getting sucked out was the the bank account...They won't bleed you dry...We enjoyed our shopping experience and look forward to an eternity of use from our daughters gift. Thank you for your friendly service.
Neat idea. Small place. The charm candles are great.
Absolute awesome experience
Those place was so great! Every thing was authentic and most were hand made. I love the crystal pendulum.
This place was quite the letdown. It's tiny, and l mean like, it's probably smaller than your living room. There's really very little to look at, and most of the overpriced stuff they sell is easily obtainable online for way cheaper. Skip it.
this is our favorite place in New Orleans!!!
Marita is THE coolest chick ever... I went in last week to get my custom fangs by Maven which are no less than perfect!!! This store is a must if you are strolling around the quarter. It really is a surreal experience!!!!
Such a cute shop!! Very eclectic and full of very interesting stuff. The shopkeeper April was also great she's fun and definitely knows her stuff!
Fun unique finds! A must visit for vampire enthusiasts!
One of the few unique shops in the French Quarter. It doesn't have the same run-of-the-mill stuff that all of the other shops in New Orleans sells. A lot of it appears to be handmade and everything is reasonably priced. Even autographed books were reasonably priced, something I did not find to be true at any other store selling autographed books in New Orleans.
Awe.... it was Ok! Not a lot looked real tho....
Unique store with interesting products. Fun to look at
Excellent place to get Vampire stuff and advice Small but great place to really feel at home as a Goth! Totally friendly stuff, open and really open to support. Lot's of " NOT made in China" Vampire stuff and nice books - ( no everywhere books- like Ann Rice). We brough a great book written by the shop owner, and I can really recommend it! Furthermore we got a lot of advice for Goth places e.g to dance. Be a goth and comming to New Orleans, go there to feel like home!!
What a wonderful little gem of a store. Curiosities of all types abound here. Thanks for the nice intro into New Orleans culture. Loved the bottles to capture Vampires and the cute little Vampire Wine Cape.
Small, fascinating boutique specializing in vampire lore and fan culture with a focus on local artisans’ gifts and goods. My only wish is that it expands! Some gifts seem too expensive - $30 for a magnet gave me pause - but I also understand that artisans need to charge for their art and labor. The shopkeeper also tipped us off to a secret vampire bar, which is really cool!
Adorable shop with a very friendly staff! Unique, handmade items and the spooky make this place a must for anyone into vampires :) they have a vampire fortune teller machine that will give you a reading for $5!
The staff is wonderful. Very friendly but not annoying friendly lol. Very knowledgeable of the area so if you're visiting New Orleans you should definitely stop by here.
Unique shop! Very interesting
Wow what a surprise great store with a ton of unique surprises and almost any magical concoction you might need. Kim was great
Very interesting place and cute. Also got my fangs fitted here by Mavin. Was a very quick process and worth the investment!
Great cocktails, thank you very much for the magical night
Originale not eine first but one of the eldest souls...
Very cool pl ace
Friendly service and interesting local items.
Great tiny shop! Friendly girls who work there!!
The web site is great with lots of great items, but when you get to this tiny shop, they do not have a while lot.
interesting gothy store. Great staff.
Fantastic store. Many beautiful objects, books and art. The staff were super friendly. Highly recommended.
Great cute items
Awesome people, knowledgeable staff, and a look into other aspects of New Orleans.
We visit every time we go to NOLA! Unique gifts for the strange and unusual! My family loves this store.
Cute little shop kind of hard to find
This is a rad shop with themed and locally-crafted items. I was definitely happy with my purchase and the shop-keep was also really nice and informative. I definitely would return.
Cool stuff. Very friendly staff.
A wonderful little shop with a great selection of vampire themed books, goods, clothing, and more! The kind woman working the shop gave us some great insider tips about places to visit and eat here in NOLA. I will be sure to come here again next time I visit.
Visited with my mum from Scotland in September. We both love vampire lore and mythology so we were eager to visit this shop. Despite being on the small side, the shop has plenty to offer and the lady who runs it was really keen to pass on her knowledge and recommendations. We bought various knick knacks including a vial of Vervain, a vampire doll (who watches over you) and a gold doubloon. I also bought a signed copy of The Casquette Girls after hearing from reviews how good it was. It did not disappoint. If I'm ever back in New Orleans I will definitely revisit this shop.
They have some very sexy familiar's.
Great stuff inside, ask for the special code for the speakeasy.
We did the vampire adventure for my birthday. It was so awesome. Marita is so great, she went above and beyond.
Went here three days in a row with my friends on a trip to NOLA. The owner was gracious and gave us lots of ideas for things to do around the city. She even gave us a couple goodies for coming back so often, including a hilarious roadkill diary for the drive home. The store has a lot of character and is very unique. Lots of books and interesting things. Definitely not your typical painful souvenir shop. Add it to your list of things to do in New Orleans.
Very nice staff and wonderful pieces of art in this shop. So many of the goods in this shop are from local people and its such a good place to go for lore. I highly recommend seeing the shop.
Great store
The most amazing and unique experience in new Orleans. Engaging staff, and wonderful oddities. Cannot wait to come back!
nifty little shop out of the bustle of bourbon st.
Great trinkets, employee is very knowledgeable and kind
Shop is amazing. Really cool curios and they do customs fangs and the guy is AWESOME! Super freadly and I will be going back!
Very neat place to visit in New Orleans. The lady working there was simply an awesome, knowledgeable person. Enjoyed visiting with her.
Definitely stop by if visiting NOLA. Especially if you are a vampire.
If you are vampire fan i would highly recommend visiting this place. I am a Vampire Diaries and The Originals fan. The woman in the store told me that the producers come in there a lot to buy the journals they have whenever there is a scene of someone writing in a journal and they support local artists. Very cool place.
This place is cool, lots of interesting things to buy. People were very nice an helpful.
One of the fantastic charming shops in the city, defiantly worth a gander and an engaging conversation.
Amazing place, super friendly staff, and great art to purchase. Loved this shop.
Quaint shop with unique items and very friendly staff. I will definitely go again.
Cute little store great service offers a few unusual gifts
Great costumes
Don't think too much. Just go there to understand.
Fun little store in the quarter with vampire memorabilia and souvenirs.
Really wonderful shop and incredibly helpful staff! full of great recommendations. I can't wait to read the book she suggested
Best place to buy surviners
Amazing store and staff
Interesting gift shop for those into vampires and the supernatural. They also offer psychic readings and can be scheduled to make custom-fit vampire fangs in a variety of styles for people seeking high quality costume parts.
Love this cute boutique of vampirism & oddities! Definitely worth a visit! The ladies running it are inviting, lovely & definitely check out their bar!
Cool store, cool items, cool staff.
Super interesting shop with lots of little handmade gifts. The owner (I'm assuming she was the owner) was very sweet and gave us really great tips about where to go while in New Orleans! She then threw in a free map where she marked off some of her favorite spots. We were so happy we stopped there!
I really wanted to love this store. I had looked at their website and before I even got there decided I needed to have a shrunken head priced around $250. I went there when they first opened and the moment I walked in the door one of the employees told me to be careful and not touch anything because the items they sold were expensive...? From what I saw it was a bunch of cheap, touristy, novelty junk. Okay whatever. I asked to see there shrunken head selection so I could purchase it and promptly leave. I was informed that they didnt have any and had no idea when they would get more in. So why are they advertising that they sell them? The most upsetting part about walking into this closet space of a store was the constant looks of disgust and criticism. I'm not really sure how they sell anything if your not allowed to look at or touch anything. They misjudged the size of my coin purse for sure.
They always have some secret activity they whisper to you when you buy something and it’s always a 10/10
Wonderful! Ask about the Vampire speakeasy!
Lots of things to ponder over! Awesome books!! Ladies are super friendly and helpful!
Great little shop. Expected it to be a tad bigger but still held quite a bit. Tarot and palm readings on site were worth the money.
Schtick for days. Lots of weird touristy trap type stuff and local flavor. Definitely worth a visit!
Very Friendly and helpful. Loved my visit :)
Great place for all things vampyre!
