On 12/13, Dean's Early Education Academy had a visit from Santa and CeCe the Face Painter. They greeted the children with such patience & love. Their presence made all of the children feel special. Normally we would have used Aliesh Entertainment but they were booked on the date that we needed. We booked the Clown, the Blue Monster & a Moon bounce through this company for Saturday June 20,2015. Up until the day of the party I had no complaints with how things were handled. On the day of my godson's party the Clown & the Blue Monster showed up 15 minutes late, took another 20 minutes trying to set up their speaker and microphone and after all that the speaker nor microphone worked improperly. The sound was muffled and filled with static and the clown tried to proceed with his act knowing that the children could not and were struggling to hear them.... I have video which I will be posting on social media...... When I complained about the sound to the "clown" he repeatedly apologized stating that this is the first time this has ever happened. I told him that it's not acceptable to expect me to pay for a clown that we could not hear and that we would not be needing their services if he couldn't correct the problem. Now here today I was charged a $50 cancellation fee for a service that they could not professionally provide. No manager was available to speak to me an the only response I received from the male who answered the phone was "don't shoot the messenger check our website and the emailed contract we do not guarantee electronic equipment.".....WHAT?! IF IT'S NOT WORKING AND YOU DON'T GUARANTEE IT THEN DON'T BRING YOUR BROKEN SPEAKER & MICROPHONE TO THE EVENT! This company is unprofessional and NEVER again will I EVER use their Service nor recommend a friend. Lesson learned: don't wait until the last minute to book your entertainment because this is what you'll end up with a Company who can only make excuses for why things don't work instead of fixing them & oh but wait they also charge you $50 for their short comings. :-) NOT ACCEPTABLE...BAD FOR BUSINESS......Guess you have to make your money somewhere!

We booked a magician from D & J entertainment for my son’s 8th & my daughter’s 4th birthday party. Magician Dee was great. There was 25+ kids at the party with ages ranging from 1-10 years. I been going to this place for the past 7 almost 8 years I even refer them all the time to family members and friends. They are very very professional very very nice greeting voice on phone and amazing customer service. I love it! Let's not forget how amazing and fun they make a kids party turn out to be. My grandson had his 1st bday yesterday Carnival theme and I refer my daughter to this location and the clown along with his assistants were PHENOMENAL. The quality and cleanliness of the costumes was stellar. I have seen characters in the past and these were the best hands down. I will rent from D&J for all of my entertainment needs.

My friend and I went to D&J Costumes a couple of days ago with intentions of renting costumes, that we were told, via phone, were $70 dollars each. After arriving there, we were greeted by a pleasant, attentive woman who showed us each a costume to our liking. I asked, out of curiosity, the retail value of the suits, with the sales lady responding, $400 for my friend's suit and $300 for mine. After trying on the costumes, the owner, a male, appeared from the back of the store, introducing himself. My friend and I explained that we needed the costumes for a four night trip to Vegas, Friday through Monday, in about 10 days. The owner, to our surprise, informed us that, instead of having to pick up the costumes on the way to Philadelphia International airport (we live in New Jersey, more than an hour from the costume sore), we could take them with us and return them two weeks later, for no additional cost, after arriving home from our trip. After talking with the owner some more, which included a mentioning of the retail value of the costumes again, he asked me and my friend if we would be interested in buying the costumes at $300 each. After pausing to think it over, he came back with second offer of $250 each, of which we accepted. Two days after arriving home with the costumes, my buddy noticing the inside tag of the costume, which indicated that the costume was made by a large costume maker in California, specializing in rental quality costumes. I immediately looked up the costume on the company's website, and found out that the costume sold, brand new, for $140. Outraged, I contacted the owner of D&J's, asking for an explanation. I was told, firmly that, No, the costume you found online is not the same costume. He assured me that the costume he sold my friend was $400 new. He made no offer to give my friend a partial refund, or to return the costume for a full refund. Still skeptical, but wanting to be fair, I contacted, via phone, the maker of the costume, explaining what happened and providing the serial number of my buddy's costume, just to make sure that the maker didn't make different level quality costumes of the same costume-a more expensive version for rental stores and cheaper one for the public. I was told, unequivocally, by a representative of the company, that the costume my friend purchased from D&J was the same costume on their site, the one selling for $140. She was certain about that. My costume is made by the largest costume maker in the world, but, because it was discontinued years back-I can't obtain any information about it either from the web or via phone, after talking to representatives-I don't know what the retail value is worth. With what has transpired so far, I can only speculate that it's probably not worth nearly what I paid for it. I hope the owner does the right thing and resolves the problem, with either a partial refund or allowing us to return the costumes for a full refund.

I don't exactly remember the magicians name, but he was African American, very handsome, and hilarious. He was at my nephew's son 1st birthday party and he brought a little rabbit and he was very entertaining. There was not one dull moment during the show. He kept the parents engaged also. Make sure to book him for all of your events. You will get your money's worth!

I ordered a popcorn and cotton candy machine for our Families Christmas party at the last minute . The driver; delivered, set up, operated for demo purposes the popcorn and cotton candy machine's by 10:00am. Upon order placement the company states that they deliver between 9-11am and that's exactly what happened. I have a new company to use for all of my future parties and events. I appreciate Companies that do what they say and when you find one that over delivers they are a keeper....Please keep up the good work!

My rating is 0. I've never cared to rate a business/company (great or horrifying), but THIS is a public announcement that needs to be made. LETS BACK TRACK FOR A SECOND: I had made a deposit for a bunny costume 3 weeks prior to the pick up day (today). I realized however, that my travel time to the store from the city was cutting it close to their closing time. So, I called them last week to either cancel or see if they could stay open a bit longer. The lady who stated she was the manager, Jocelyn, was kind enough to stay open additional 15 mins. She said, "by the time I close down, it's 6:15pm anyways, so if you can be her on friday by 6:15 pm, I'll be here." I was relieved and thankful. IT'S FRIDAY TODAY: I call the store as I run to the subway to get to my car ONLY to be greeted over the phone by an employee who says Jocelyn isn't there and no matter what -they are closing at 6pm. No help. I call back after I get off the subway, and say, " i dont understand how you run a buisness like this." Yes, it's not a nice way to start a conversation but Im disgruntled at this point, and it's a legitimate question when the manager promises something and can't follow through. The guy who answers is the owner (which you think would be the answer to the situation, but nope,) he was extremely offended that I questioned his shop and named dropped his wife, THE MANAGER. His exact words were, "this is MY store and that's my WIFE! She was nice enough to say that to you but she's not here. Noone knows the schedule a week in advance. Noone made you not cancel your reservation last week. you can cancel it now~" really sir??. I wish she was nice enough to not offer a fake promise or communicated with me or someone from your shop. An, "Im sorry she said that but we can't stay open," would have worked just fine. The way you handle cu stumer problems clearly shows your lack in leadership and buisness tactics. So the comment still stands, I really don't understand how you run a business like this. In summary: they couldnt keep their word, I couldn't get there by 6pm, they didn't pick up the phone as i was driving there, and the children do not have a bunny. Save yourself the trouble and GET YOUR COSTUME ELSEWHERE!!

On April 25th 2015 I used D and J for my daughters 3rd birthday, it was a Frozen celebration and I got an Olaf and a clown and my guest had the best experience ever, the Olaf was the life of the party Olaf was great with the kids as well as the adults, the clowns didn't stay behind the were awesome as well to, they did amazing face painting very detailed. Wow you won't regret booking here for you entertainment needs! Our performer was a magician named Dee, and literally had everyone laughing so hard, including adults! His magic tricks was amazing too. Even the restaurant staff working my daughter's communion party watched and laughed, and complimented how awesome he was! I was totally wowed at his performed, worth every penny! It made the party even more memorable! Will definitely use again for any entertainment needs.

I recently attended a freinds daughter birthday party where the entertainment was Taffyy the Clown....now I am not a big fan of clowns but Taffy was engaging, high spirited and she kept the kids as well as the adults enthused with her many talents. As I prepared to leave this review I noticed the negative comment before me. I'm sorry that the individual didn't have a good experience. I do hope that if she decides to request these types of services again that she will reconsider D&J. I am a long time customer of D & J Entertainment and have never had any problems with their service. From events with my job, to personal parties, they have never disappointed me nor let me down. I recently had Pixie the Clown and the Elmo Character at my neighborhood's annual block party. They were both great, arrived on time and engaged themselves with both the children and the adults for the entire duration of the party. It was over 90 degrees and Elmo didn't even take a break. Pixie was awesome as well. Her Clown appearance was neat, professional and cute. Her clown make up didn't scare the smaller kids and she had a very sweet and pleasant disposition. Pixie was so creative with the face painting. The kids really loved her. D & J will always be my "go to" shop for entertainment. You should make them yours too.

We have been using D&J for many years. Their clowns are very professional and deliver accordingly. Our favorite clown is Lulabelle. We've had her at our birthday parties, block parties, and family events. I especially love her outfits and her professionally done make-up is fancy and friendly looking (not scary). Lulabelle makes the kids feel special and makes the time with them fun and happy. Her face painting, balloons, and magic are very well executed. Our kids and our friends' kids ask for her by name. We had a Church Christmas Party and ordered a popcorn machine. For the Children we ordered a moon bounce,cotton candy machine the service was excellent...the bouncer was delivered on time. I was surprised they were cheaper than last years company!!! I normally rare restaurants but this place is good.

I would definitely use their service again. The thing i appreciated the most was how reasonable the pricing was. Great place for your party needs hands down.

My father-in-law gets his grandchildren a surprise for a Passover song each year. This year, the act happened to be Dee the magician. At 8:00 Dee came on time and entertained us continuously for the next hour. He called each of us (12 people were there) up to help him preform a magic trick. We were all in stitches laughing from the very beginning, and his magic tricks were amazing. At one point he made water vanish into a newspaper and later it was poured back out! I would definitely recommend Dee to everyone, and we will absolutely be seeing him again.

i ordered a clown , a moonbounce and a magician yesterday for our annual family reunion. The moonbounce was very clean, the clown was great but the magician derek lee was amazing. i will use them every year and refer them to my friends. we normally use a another company but im glad we switched. i will never call another company..wonderful job!!!!

Dee the magician came to my sons pre-k class for a magic show and it was amazing! He did such a good job keeping a class of 20 4-5 yr olds engaged and entertained, he even included the adults. Professional and lots of fun; I will definitely use this company again!

I had no idea such a great place was just minutes from my house. They have a great selection of costume rentals and I had no idea they had all the other services under one roof. Magicians, moon bounce, costume rentals, DJ's and a heck of a lot more. Everything was on time an as we ordered. I highly recommend D&J Entertainment!!
