You will see the feddbacks of real people like you who purchase the services and products of REI (Costumes) around Connecticut area.
Nowadays the business gets a score of 4.4 stars out of 5 and this rating is based on 167 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is positive, and it is founded on a high number of opinions, so we may conclude that the valuation is quite reliable. If there are many people who bothered to value when they are happy with the service, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to set scores when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Costumes is classified in the category of Camping store.
Lots of really good quality merchandise. Decent sales as well. What is really cool are the community events that they have co-sponsored with other local businesses. They also have a membership plan that gives you extra sales and opportunities.
I love REI but had a horrible experience buying trail runners there last weekend. Incredibly arrogant salesman who refused to listen to a word I said, tried to fit me for a brand I've historically had trouble with in a size I wore as a teenager, ended up selling me a pair of zero-drop shoes that have killed my feet and ankles and resulted in 3 days off running. Now have to return them, which takes 2 hours out of my workday. Not okay. And really crappy way to treat customers. Surprised---REI is generally amazing.
Great place for buying outdoor clothes and equipment
Called them and keep me waiting for hours regarding Thule Roof rack, they didn't know what to do and when i ask them what would they recommend for my car they just keep me waiting on the phone for an hour. . . Overpriced and no stocks. Get my Stuff to Outdoor sports! 1 stars and will not recommend your store!
Great place to buy outdoor gear. Helpful staff for the most part. Just make sure you ask someone who looks like they know what they're talking about. Bike shop is great. I recommend getting the lifetime membership for 20$ as you get 5% back to spend in store every year.
Such a great team and store manager. Patient, kind, & effective. The team was super accomodating in helping us exchange a large purchase. So happy we chose to buy our gear here and definitely will in the future because the customer service can’t be beat. Thank you!
Quality products at fair prices.
Knowledgable staff that r always willing to help or give their opinions on the gear. They r motivated to getting u the equipment u really need and not just trying to sell u the most expensive products.
I didn't find the gloves I'm looking for but an Extremely helpful saleswoman actually pulled out a box of gloves recently put into storage for me to check. Very nice.
Amazing store. High quality products, and super helpful staff.
Tons of gear!!! Good people
REI has a great selection of outdoors stuff. More importantly, the staff is consistently super friendly and helpful.
Always friendly, easy to find associates. They have nice classes and events about all kinds of outdoor stuff. Being a co-op member is totally worth it.
I have been a member at REI since the early 90's. Despite what some say that their products are over priced and or that they have never received a dividend check, well what can I say. I have always received mine and will continue to buy REI products because there is an adage buy good cry once by crap keep on buying. There products are well valued and well represented. I have purchased products from multiple coasts Washington's Seattle store, the best, LA CA, Phoenix AZ, MA, & CT. In all locations the staff has been extremely helpful & knowledgeable in leading me to a direction to what I was seeking. I would highly recommend if you are a client who is looking for quality wares and services.
All the best outdoor gear.
Absolutely terrific help from Kim in the footwear section. Went in for a pair of trail running shoes. Read a bunch of reviews and was trying them on for size to narrow down my decision. Turns out she was a runner too. Tons of useful information! Some great stories, and ultimately a decision. Challenger ATR5's. Thank you so much again!
Good selecton of outdoor gear and helpful staff.
The floor staff were very friendly and attentive - several different associates asked if we needed help as we wandered around the store. Unfortunately, as stocked as the store seemed (all the racks were filled) they practically only had XS or XL's. It took forever to find a size 6 in some brands/style, even then the right color sometimes wasn't available. Furthermore, the cashiers were completely different than floor staff - unfriendly, slow, and visibly uncaring.
Great to have a outdoors shop around now that EMS has closed.
Jay P, that guy
K place
Very helpful staff! even though it was full of people there was plenty of staff to answer and take care of customers. Staff was also very knowledgeable.
Terrific store for outdoor equipment. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable. They carry a wide variety of brands for outdoor sports. Especially good with camping equipment and clothing.
Good place to spend some time with the family.
Employees were very helpful had questions about some climbing boots and they had all the answers

Staff was very helpful, kind and friendly when I visited the store. It is a big store with a wide selection of quality items for all types of outdoor activities, cycling, kayaking, climbing, hiking, camping. Great selection and great prices. It pays to become a member of REI. Staff answered and helped with any questions I had. They also have classes at the store which is awesome, and have a bike shop in store. Wish this store was closer to me. But it's worth the trip. Definitely worth the trip.
I like
Amazing service, good products. Ask for a guy named Ray if you really want the best service, he was amazing and helped us buy a bike for Father’s Day.
This REI location is one of the great ones, I've been shopping here for years. I recently bought an Osprey Aether back pack, and the salesman there named Mark couldn't have been more helpful. He helped me pick out the right size by weighting the bag proportionally and teaching me the many points of adjustment that I simply never would've figured out on my own. I never felt rushed to make a decision, quite the opposite in fact, Mark took his time to make sure we covered all the bases...I've actually walked into this REI location twice now for adjustments and questions on the same back pack and experienced the same patience and outstanding customer support both times.
This REI is fantastic. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They also keep changing the store layout to optimize the buyer experience which is really nice to see. As with all other REI's, the return policy is absolutely fantastic and they really do believe in making sure you've got the right equipment for what ever your next adventure.
Everyone was super nice and very knowledgeable in every department I was in. The employees all seemed genuinely interested in helping me find the right items to meet my needs and didn't hesitate to spend whatever time was necessary to do it. They also gravitated toward the sale items first and tried to find the best deals possible. Definitely worth the trip!
Great store
The best customer service.
Was convinced to join REI when I was told I would receive a $20 rebate in several months upon joining. Their products are very over-priced, and to get any value you have to join their club. The rebate never showed-up, and I will be filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau and States Attorney's Office. Avoid this store. Shop online and save at least 50% from what they charge.
Staff are very helpful, both on the phone and in person!
Bad Service. The person who was providing information about bikes decided not to attend my friend and I because we were Hispanic, although we went there to buy two bikes. Very disappointed.
Horrible customer service. We walked in at around 845 pm and the older man did not acknowledge us by saying hello, asking if we needed help, but ran up to us to let us know we needed to hurry up and leave.
I was on a bike ride and snapped my shifter off so I made a pit stop here and the staff was very friendly and informative. I was wery at first that since I'm not a member the install would cost more than my pos Wal-Mart bike but the pricing is very reasonable. I am going to use them for all my future bike repairs/tune ups!
Warm mittens
Staff is friendly, and I have never been pushed to buy a membership which has happened at other REI locations.
Terrible customer service. I requested to try on hiking shoes in a certain size. The employee then proceeded to want to size me up and told me I was a shoe size 1.5 sizes than my normal traditional shoe. I tried on the shoes he brought and they were constantly too big. I asked him for original requested size and he kept saying I would smash my toenails and basically wouldn't let me try on the shoe I wanted to try on. This proves why e-commerce is taking over retail stores. I will now only ored stuff online. Idiots.
My experience REI is the bikes in the bicycle repair shop they do top of the line bike tune-ups overhaul and basic repair they are the best in Norwalk
Feet matter, so if you're looking for a great pair if hiking shoes then this is the place to go. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. They will help narrow your search to ensure that you pick a shoe that meets your needs.
Sprawling outdoor sports store, probably one of the last brick and mortar stores of its kind. Everything from bikes to boots is on display, tons of gloves and hats in winter, lots of layering clothing for warmth and stretchy stuff for workouts or yoga. Friendly, knowledgeable staff.
Terrific Store. They are stocked with every quality outdoor piece of clothing or equipment you could want. Most importantly the service and knowledge provided by the employees is terrific. Their prices are all list. If you join the co-op you get a 10% rebate on all fully priced items you buy. I can't wait to shop again.
Nice store, nice staff, but the sizing charts are all over the place. Huge bummer that as a 6' woman, only XL sizes fit me. Its tough to find something that fits correctly, but occasionally I do find something that fits okay. I would say most of their sizes are geared toward smaller, slimmer woman and girls :(
Well they are the first and only store so far that I have found that has the Arc'teryx Atom SV Hoodie in size small for mens. Unfortunately I left my debit card in SC and they won't let me pay without it. I do understand their security risk with this, however every place that I have been too since I have been here has allowed me to just give them the info. I have my driver's license, but still that doesn't seem to be enough. I will NO LONGER shop with REI anymore, and seeing how I spend thousands on outdoor gear a year, this isn't just bad for me. Yet again, another reason to shop local.
Good selection. Fantastic sales associates. Highly recommended location.
Great service They didn't have an item or two we needed
When a kayak that we had purchased online was mistakenly sold before we arrived to pick it up at the Norwalk location, the staff found one elsewhere in Connecticut, and the next day the manager (Anthony) delivered it to our home himself!!! That’s service worthy of 5 stars.
Very informative and helpful staff. This store lacked several of the items and clothes I needed. I will have to order them online and then just return them at the store if needed.
Nice store! Love that we have one in CT. My son just got a winter jacket there. Selection was a bit weak. I might head there to spend dividend and use coupon soon!!
Pricey but good ... Nice warranty and return policy
Awesome gear for outside recreation- socks?
Every one here was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and hardworking!
Best store with reasonable prices on all your outdoor clothing needs.
REI is the Swiss Army of outdoor stores - it has everything. This store is fun to visit and buy stuff from. The staff is really good too!
The sales associates are really decent and they know their stuff and that's a pretty decent bike shop butt they've got to control the price is a little bit more I know you get what you pay for but why should you pay over retail your average things that are in there the cost that they make everything in there almost makes it so you won't want to go out and be outdoors even with the REI cars you're still paying a lot of money
Love love love this place.
This place is amazing...everyone in there is willing to help you..even at a busy day. They help you pick the right fit from hiking shoes to hiking bookbags. And theres also a one year warranty on anything. Amazing
This is a small, but very nice REI. The staff is very friendly, and the store has a good selection of a lot of gear for many sports, including ice climbing, backpacking, bicycling, etc. but if you're shopping at an REI, I guess you know that already.
Super friendly staff and very knowledgeable!
An awesome store giving Fairfield county people the feeling they're outdoorsemen and women
These folks are best if class. A nice store with lots of experience in the field.
Jane Eifert was fantastic. Thanks, Jane!
Overpriced
Most helpful store on the planet
Very helpful staff
Terrific! John was extremely knowledgeable about the shoes and I needed, and very quick and helpful, including going to some trouble, to meet my needs much better than I could have myself, while Kate was similarly helpful and knowledgeable about socks. A great experience!
- Great service and friendly staff - Well-organized layout (may take some getting used to) - I've been here almost any day of the week, and I have never seen it crowded - Good prices for good products Overall, I've never had a bad experience here. My only takeaway is that I can find more stuff online than I can in store, but it's always nice to visit regardless.
Great store if you don't mind paying 10% over other store's prices. Have a lot in stock, but wow, overpriced!
I'm always amazed how every visit to this store makes me want to come back for more. The staff here are INCREDIBLE at what they do and their customer service is top-notch. As far as running/trail running goes, this is definitely the place you want to go to get your shoes and feet measured; though they don't have a treadmill. They always carry the best brands like Altra, Hoka, Brooks, etc. and have always been priced much lower every time I went in-store. This is also paired with a terrific return policy that allows you to return anything within in a year if you're not 100% satisfied with your product. Huge shout out to Nicole for her incredibly energetic and positive attitude, as well as her terrific knowledge and insight on all of the products.
Always helpful and go above and beyond to help a long time member!
Pretty good for basic needs. Don't expect to find super advanced equipment here though. Go to outdoors sports center instead for that
HORRIBLE customer service. I brought back a few pairs of pants that I realized were size 30 and not length 30. I messed up. They were still sealed in the plastic though. They refused to accept a return because I didn't have the receipt. I don't have the receipt for the other 50-60 pairs of pants and t-shirts I've bought there all for $50+ apiece. I asked for the lowest selling price and they wouldn't even do that. I then tried to use a gift card I had brought with me and they had issues with their system and had the gall to suggest I pay for the items now and then bring back the receipts another day to utilize the gift card. Their lack of tact, their poor return policy, and the often overpriced products led me to a one star rating. NO MORE!
Nice store with a large selection of brands for the outdoorsy type. Helpful staff and we'll kept. Definitely a place I would shop at when I'm in the area.
