Here you will see the feddbacks of real people who are purchasing the products of Buffalo Exchange (Costumes) in the state of Arizona.
At the present this business receives a rating of 3.7 stars out of 5 and that rating is based on 234 reviews.
As you can read, the average score it has is really high, and it is based on a very high number of scores, so we may say that the evaluation is quite reliable. If people have bothered to rate when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to write scores when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Costumes corresponds to the category of Used clothing store.
This is one of a few places I can give my crappy clothes to and maybe get a few bucks. They have cornered the market of slightly crappy clothes. One thing I noticed is that the lighting is really bad here. If they want to sell used clothes at least let us see it in a more natural light. Check your clothes for stains before buying them.
Great selection with greater prices!
Found a wonderful pair of capris and shoes. Got them for a fair price. I feel being close to the U of A campus really helps this location. A pleasurable shopping experience.
Great selection and well organized
Exelent customer service fair prices on great fashion
Love this store!
SELLERS BE AWARE. The staff are rude. They don’t even pretend they have an attitude. The price they give is INSULTING. Would never come again.
The clothes there seem worn out and overpriced I’ll just go to Walmart thank you.
Customer service is repeatedly terrible. First with bringing clothes in to exchange and the other to purchase a two piece suit. I was picking up the suit for a friend and did not have my ID. The key girl was unwavering with her not allowing me to make the purchase. This is why it will be easy for robots to take jobs. They too will be unwavering but won't require a paycheck.. what a bind we have been put in unexpectedly not being able to get this suit before 12pm. Will not recommend or return.
Its a cool place to look around
Very rude and stuff up workers and way over priced item would not shop here
Staff were very friendly and
I've shopped here a few times, a lot of the clothes is already warn out, and out of fashion, I brought in a big Bag of clothes with up to date fashion some summer dresses, heels and they didn't take none of it, and it was a huge bag, idk what they consider up to date when half the shoe selection is all old, clothes is too, just saw a few items I do like, only one good cashier with great customer service and everyone else is rude. I can get better quality clothes new for the price they ask. I'll never waste money there again
(Translated by Google) Very good clothes (Original) Muy buena Ropa
Friendly staff
Great selection of clothing. Some great vintage and designer brands for less. Some things were over priced but otherwise very good stuff.
A great place for high quality unique clothing you won't find at the big chains. Definitely a go to place for the fashion savvy looking to add pieces that stand out and won't break your budget. Buffalo exchange is not a common thrift store so if you are looking for cheap that's not what you'll find. They are choosy about the items they buy and that's what makes the shopping and selling experience worthwhile. You won't get anywhere near top dollar for your clothing but I don't know many places where you can walk in and out with a little extra cash in your pocket or a decent discount on a new treasure in less than an hour. Yes the buyers are kinda snobby and kinda let the power get to them but that's just the world of high fashion. We got our own little Devil wears Prada right here in Tucson and I love it. I know I've walked out in tears plenty of times cause some newb buyer don't know yesterday from today and certainly can't predict tomorrow like someone who just got back from FIDIM in LA.... and certainly does not understand the value of a couture leather jacket that's already been softend.
They have a decent selection every now and then. The manager Cristina acts as if there is her first job and she doesn't know ANY customer service.
It's pretty pricey for a used clothing place. I was looking for jeans, thinking I could get something cheap. $25 is a lot for jeans that someone else has worn! I was kind of expecting Goodwill prices since it's essentially the same concept. Heard they don't pay much for stuff you bring in to sell.
Always a fun place to shop, I've been a customer for 10 years and the staff is very helpful and friendly. There's a wide range of inventory and I've found some amazing buys over the years. They really know what they're doing!
A goods spot for trading those older clothes in for some new ones! I only ever go here when I have items to trade, because their prices can be a little high sometimes. But they always have cute clothes, and I would recommend them over Plato's Closet.
I'm loving these reviews... Especially the review about not having bags, by Maria D. Watch out for NBR, no-bag-rage is sweeping Buff X locations across America. You could be the next target of a mindless NBR rant on how beliefs are being shoved down throats... so, of course, everyone should do what they say instead! Classic NBR. And Maria, sweet Maria, I hope you've found the bag you've been looking for all your life.
I’ve browsed around and everything is very overpriced for used items. I even went in to sell some clothes practically new however they are VERY particular in what they “buy”. Don’t waste your time
Very cool vintage selection and nice staff. This will be my go to for sure!
Always a fun time shopping in there! Unique finds!
Friendly staff, good selection of gently used, hip clothing and accessories.
Lacking in men's department, have most items, great for finding Halloween costumes
Awesome clothes.
Horrible customer service, I arrived to this store, to sell some Jordans, I had just brought, the shoes from foot locker ( still in the box)as soon as I showed the lady, my shoes, she didn't even check to see if their were real! She looked at me, told me , it's been a long week of fake shoes and told me, my shoes, probably is fake, after now talking to her manager, and confirming my shoes was real, she didn't even apologize. She just offered me $10 cash on some, brand new$200 shoes, I wore three times, like new
DO NOT SELL HERE, tried to sell and the buyer took 5 items with an MSRP of over $500, and gave me $41.25 in cash. Passed up on items that were worn twice because they were too "worn", but she loved a shirt that I bought at goodwill a week earlier. No rhyme or reason to pricing. Will not ever sell here again, and will not buy there either.
Sometimes find some good stuff and staff is super nice but be aware this is an expensive thrift store. On average items cost around $20 and the tshirts cost around $12-15... i got three items and it cost around $56 which isn’t exactly a bargain.
Everyone who works here is always really helpful and attentive. They usually will help you know if an outfit looks bad or not too. I love going there.
Good music, good vibes, great clothes!
The store is great despite the move
Best BE I've ever been to. Always go when I'm in town
Some pieces are pricey, but the staff was nice, it was clean, good music, and I loved everything in there!
When i was waiting to sell clothes i saw someone get 20 dollars for plain and dull basic clothes/ t shirts. I had a whole bag of clothes, 5 or more pairs of earrings and 3 pairs of shoes. the lady barely looked at what i had while the other workers carefully decided whether they should buy something. she didnt even look at everything i had i also had brought specific things that were similiar to what they bought last time hoping i would at least get something. the bag of earrings she took out one pair and looked at it and put the rest back she didnt even look at everything else she just put it back. she also only looked at one pair of shoes and didnt look at the others at all. then she bought nothing from me. and i brought a lott of stuff. I had a nice pair of vans shoes barely worn and a unique pair of maroon pants and a lot of other decent clothes and i never understand why they dont buy those things. i look around in there store and it seems like they have bad taste. they never seem to take nice brands either. i once took a forever 21 dress practically brand new and a nice sublime shirt and they didnt even take that. this place confuses me and the lady that was looking through my clothes seemed stuck up. also the earrings i were trying to sell were super nice and i saw pictures of the earrings they actually sell on the instagram page and it blows my mind they think those are nice.
Reasonable selection of clothes.
מאוד בינוני, אין כמעט בכלל וינטג' איכותי.. הכל בגדים של ישנים מhm.
Fantastic customer service! Came in from New York State 10 weeks ago, I've had a blast at this place. Go have fun!
Great selection of vintage clothing in great condition. Very friendly staff.
usually a hit or a miss. Either you're able to find lots of goodies, or nothing at all. When selling clothes they are very selective, which is at times frustrating. Overall good.
Employees are very curteous and nice
Found some cool stuff, very nice. Token thing that goes to charity was cool
Good selection of clothes cool staff!
I am a male professional and always find good work clothes here, especially shirts. I have had a lot of good luck here in the past. The store is usually full of beautiful women too!
has very nice clothing for a good price.
If your going there to sell your things don't. They do not offer the amount that your things are worth. It's insulting .
Really nice stuff
Very disappointed. They did not take any of my items to sell, which they gave no reason why, and the crap they had in the store was over priced garbage. One coat I looked at was covered in cat hair and selling for more than it probably originally cost. My clothes may not be as trendy, but at least they are new looking and clean. Never coming back to buy or sell and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. Just go to a regular thrift store, same quality but better prices.
Found great clothes and shoes for reasonable prices!
Buy, Sell and Trade clothing store, never know what trendy ware you may find.
Horrible customer service. General manager gave me a check for my buy and didn't tell me they bank with Bank of America which isn't in the state of Louisiana well the closets one to New Orleans is over 200 miles away and that's just an ATM. I called the store and they told me there was nothing that they could do. I explained I was only visiting from Atlanta and I needed to go home. I mean I literally drove to nine check cashing places and they wouldn't accept Buffalo Exchange Check cause it bounced before. Why issue checks if The person can't cash it? I love buffalo exchange but the New Orleans location really let me down
I have been a customer of this store for years now, both as a seller of my clothing to them and a buyer of their items. The staff is ALWAYS helpful and friendly, the store is always clean and well-organized, and the buyers have a great eye for a very eclectic and diverse stock, very fair pricing and great sales. What impressed me the most is I left New Orleans two years ago for a job in Georgia, got back a month ago, and as soon as I walked in, Denise, the manager, remembered me by name instantly even though I look completely different than I did then. The personal, neighborhood feel means a great deal, I don't just feel like an anonymous consumer there.
Selection is not the best, but the customer service was friendly and helpful
I was there for a fundraiser (Thank You, Buffalo Exchange, for supporting our community!) Plenty of parking, easily seen, nice variety. Seemed like a great place to shop! I'll be going back soon.
Only and most important gripe is that no one greets you as you walk-in!
Great place with good clothes for cheap! They buy old clothes too!
You see, this isn't really a shop. It's a cult in disguise. While having all kinds of beliefs is everybody's right, shoving them down your customers' throats is not. Buffalo Exchange does not believe in bags. They hand you the clothes, which may be many and/or heavy, assuming you'll place them in your pockets, assuming you have any that is. Oh, and you get a "cute" token for it, along with a recited speech about "saving the planet." As George Carlin said, had the planet had any problem with us, it would shake us as fleas! The planet has been around for eons before Buffalo Exchange was and will be around long after Buffalo Exchange goes down the drain, which it inevitably will, since they couldn't make it even around the bums downtown. If they're soooo concerned about the planet, why can't they have paper bags, as many other stores do?! Aaaww, I suppose they can't hurt trees, either, can they?! Well, if they're such bleeding hearts, why don't they give the stuff away?! But, nooo... they're actually one of the greediest second-hand shops in town. I don't know why bothered setting foot there again...
Got a decent haul for the sack of old t-shirts and costumes I took in to sell. The sales gals were fun and engaging.
This buffalo has a massive inventory of amazing stuff. And they have especially good deals on silver and turquoise jewelry!
Excluding the girl with the wicked short black hair, the people that work there are kind of rude. Cool clothes though.
Service there sucks . and there very rude if you are plus size person ..
Neat store
Solid thrift store with friendly service. Seems to have good value and a decent selection.
(Translated by Google) You find things of very good brands in good condition and at an excellent price ♥ ️ (Original) Encuentras cosas de muy buenas marcas en buen estado y a excelente precio ♥️
Not a good place to shop
The Team Here Are GREAT- STYLISH - & ATTENTIVE
First time at the store...I go to a lot of thrift stores...and this is by far the nicest...didn't feel like a used clothing store. Very clean and clothes were displayed beautifully. Prices r higher than I have been used to paying, however, the clothes were clean and in perfect condition. I went to three different thrift stores before hitting this one...I cldnt find what I needed in my size. Buffalo Exchange had a great selection! This will be my first stop from now on.
Always love shopping here
Lots of great finds
Great service. The selection is kinda hit or miss but some of the stuff I find there is great
What a wide array of styles, I love going to a store that sells such a selection of clothing. Great shopping here, I'll be back.
I love resale and I shopped at the very first Buffalo Exchange in Tucson when the company was in it's infancy. So, we have history. And, like most things that have become uber popular, Buffalo has lost that local shop feel. But, their selection is still super hip and fashionable. And, their prices are reasonable compared to retail. Especially when you find a high priced designer stitch for $20.
1 star for the cashier that admitted SHE RUNS BICYCLISTS OFF THE ROAD. I would have rated it lower if that was possible. I'm a cyclist, she could learn a lesson or two from riding a bike in Tucson. See how she likes it when not only her bicycle is screwed up from a crash because the car that drove her off doesn't know how to share the road... But road rash on top of it. Nuff said. I won't be patronizing Buffalo Exchange ever again. I don't want to support a business that employs assholes like that.
Wherever I go Buffalos follow
Great local place to purchase and sale gently worn clothing..
Love It!
Sell my old stuff here. They pay well for jeans and denim.
Went in hoping to find one or 2 ok scarves for my hair... I left spending $60! Be careful cause you will be in there for hours rummaging and finding things you HAVE to have that you never knew you needed. One to 2 scarves turned into like 10 scarves, a purse and some shirts.
Lots of clothes! I wish they had a larger jewelry selection but a neat store.
The 2nd and last time I come here. All top name brand clothing, not good enough for them and I checked their racks. WAY OVERPRICED
Don't believe the hype.
They bought 2/12 items. But they gave a fair price for the items! Great selection!
Fantastic as always. There's always a variety of unique things to choose from.
4 stars because I'm not sure how this place can get any better!!! Tucson, AZ, all the way to Tacoma, Philadelphia, Atlanta, L.A. I'm sure there is a Buffalo near you.
The ORIGINAL! Of course it's good!!! The best for your second hand, stylish clothes!
Great deals! Great staff!
Kinda freaking pricey considering the fact that all the clothes are used and have been worn. Stop acting like you all are an Urban Outfitters or ASOS:)
Definitely my favorite place to shop, I always find something original and beautiful! Love this place. I love the variety of clothing in the store. All the workers are always super helpful and nice too.
Love this place
It kind of over priced and they dont accept alot of stufg
I brought in alot of current style clothing and they wanted none of it , also they had a horrible selection
Nice selection of men's clothes
The girl that looked at my clothes was really nice thats about all i can say. Worst experience ive ever had. Took one piece. I had tons of nice like new pieces or still had tags on it. The most disappointing experience I've ever experienced. I guess i should have listened to all the other reviewers said. Complete waste of time.
Really cool store for finding unique pieces at unbeatable prices. Friendly staff and super wide range of clothes.
Miss their Eastside location, but campbell location is still always a special place to find unique and every day wear.
Horrible experience! No shame in their game, they do not hide their racist behavior. Sad for anyone to experience.
Always friendly, always good prices
Good selection of clothes. Just don't expect a ton of money when you try to exchange you stuff.
They always have really good sweaters and jackets cuz it's so warm here. Good place to stock up
The price is a bit high for this kind of place but every buffalo exchange i visited so far has the most original clothes and shoes. I always go there to find something different and to find good service.
Cute clothing. Good prices.
I can always find something to buy here and prices are good.
They give you an excellent price on your used clothes and carry very nice clothes at a reasonable price.
Great place to find cool stuff for everyday wear, or costume events.
I gave always loved this place but I haven't visited this place in over 10 years. Unfortunately the staff was rude and unhelpful and frankly plato's is more economical.
great place to buy clothes.. i found some great deals here and I'm a plus sized guy
Wonderful selection of vintage and new, plus the staff always makes me feel welcome. A wonderful location, rivaling most others I've frequented.
As usual, super way way way overpriced resale clothes that they probably gave whoever brought them there a third of what they're selling for now. But other than that yeah... Oh, and the inside of that shop smells like human grit which is really disgusting - but other than that...
The people here are just mean. Especially the manager.
TRASH BAG
Outstanding, constantly updating selection. Tons of men's clothes in all sizes to sift through. Nice accessories, lots of changing rooms, and the amount of clothes to choose from is large but not overwhelming. All the clothes are super hip and trendy and sold at a fair, not cheap price, reflecting the quality. Worth it every time.
They have a great selection of funky and fashionable clothes! I went in for some more conservative options (job interviews), and I was worried they'd only have sparkly hipster clothes. I was so wrong! They have a GREAT selection of clothes! And good pricing!
Took some of my items today. That does not always happen. Staff was friendly, fair with pricing and prompt, that usually does happen. This is a Tucson Treasure. Thanks Buffalo now I can go XMAS shopping.
Very expensive for second hand stuff.
after selling to buffalo exchange for 20 years (helen street). i was told today that i was placed on a "list". so everytime i go to sell (which is maybe twice a month) that i can only sell on wed thur fri sat. and i must be by the store manager by appoinent. i cannot go sell sun mon tues at any buffalo exchange. the manager said it was a new policy and for inventory control. this is very strange. i never heard of it until i went to sell today. does anyone besides myself think this is discrimination? i never ever caused any issues at there stores. i never disrested any of there employees. i never mistreating anyone. i go there sell and usually take the the cash unless they have tennis shoes on sale and i take trade. when i go sell i have several trash bags full. but being that i have been trending for 30 years i know vintage to current styles. alot of my vintage gets purchased by employees. they tag the item and put underneath the counter.... now behind curtains behind the registers. i just keep thinking about there new policy and strongly feel there is some kind of discriminatory practices going on here. for instance: a buyer who did not know me was buying really good. one of the assistant managers whispered to her something and she passed the rest of the items. in the past i have had checks written to me. today i took 3 small bags and made $36 dollars but was told i had to comply to the new policy. feelng frustrated and really down. when your told your not wanted in the store to sell sun mon tue if feels discrimatory and unjust. does anyone else experience this? or does anyone feel it discrimnation? does any one want to join me to picket the speedway store?
Very subjective! Lady doing choosing didn't even look at items! Smh
Last week I tried to sell a good amount of barely worn clothes to Plato's Closet and they rejected everything except a brand new pair of heels. Plato's gave me $3 for them, even though they still had tags on them.. A coworker suggested I try Buffalo exchange. I'm really glad I did. The store seemed organized and clean. The staff went through my things right away and bought a lot of the items Plato rejected. They offered me $44 of store credit or $25 in cash. That's better than anything Plato's has ever offered me. The staff was very nice to my almost 4 year old son and even gave him a sticker and temporary tattoo! I was in and out within less than 15 minute. I will be going back next week, this time without my little boy so I can actually shop!
Great customer service and beautiful selection of affordable designer clothes, shoes, bags, jewelry and other accessories like hats & scarves!
Some things can be a little pricey for used clothes. They seemed to have changed what clothes they accept now. Apparently they are now moving towards more grungy/hipster looking clothing, just beware before selling. Before they always accepted my clothes. Oh well. If you're already on Magazine it's worth a look, but nothing to go out of your way for.
Treated me like a criminal the entire process. Came and found me while in the dressing room (after asking my partner where I was) requiring me to get my clothes for sale, required I take them to my car immediately. When I was trying to purchase items, constantly checking my ID and cards. I'm currently working on my dissertation indirectly on discrimination, so I know what it looks like. I was treated differently and negatively based on how I looked, even while pleasant the entire time. Steer clear. You might wonder 'well, what did you look like for them to be suspicious?'. I was wearing workout clothes, with messed up hair, you know, because I was working out prior.
Looked you up on the net, said your looking for winter clothes brought in some all were rejected said you had too many already
Understand, you make a purchase, you own it... no refund once you walk out. In store credit only and that's only up to 5 days after purchase..... Even if the item is tagged incorrectly on their part.. It is posted. ! Still, cool threads....
Got a pair of jeans for $16
I'm a tall dude, so I'm used to having trouble finding things my size. However, this shop also had a very limited selection of style for men. What few things they did have that drew my interest were overpriced for what they were. Overall, this shop completely let down my expectations.
Staff are always welcoming and friendly.
High quality used clothing for a fraction of the original store price.
Nice workers, trendy clothes for great pricing, very addictive !
Great clothing selection, friendly staff. I've been going here 15 years, may go for another 15!
I guess this place is a little too hip for me. It is not a typical thrift shop, it is higher priced and picky about what they buy. They didn't want any of my clothes because they weren't trendy enough, when I brought in high-quality dress clothes. If you are the trendy target audience of this store, I know you can find better deals and more eclectic clothes elsewhere. This store gives me a weird vibe, kinda like packaged and commercialized bohemian culture.
I found a jump suit here. It’s nice.
Friendly staff, nice selection and mix of clothes, love'n the costumes.
Great clothes and staff
Pretty good. Lots of used stuff
Love this place! I always find something and I will always go back!
Friendly, well informed staff. Nice clothes, great prices.
Very cool spot to buy and sell clothes. Staff is always helpful.
A lot of obscurity but nothing with any real wow factor. Prices are a little high for some items.
Fantastic! Great mix of modern and vintage with a huge selection. By far the cheapest vintage in New Orleans. Everything was in good shape too. Nothing was too beat up either.
Amazing
Love the stuff here, but prices are outrageous and the hipster employees are very stuck up
You guys awesome.
Always great deals to be found here and the staff are super friendly and helpful!
It's hands down the most eclectic consignment!!
Staff is always friendly and extremely helpful!
The staff is snobby. I took 2 bags of clothing that had never been worn and they told me that they only want clothes that were gently used or not used at all. When I explained that my bag was full of clothes that fit that description, they shunned me. It was embarrassing.
The best gold mine!, unique shopping for sure.
Great store with unique finds. The workers were amazingly helpful and fun to chat with. Definitely a place to frequent.
They are way toooooo picky
Full disclosure: wife works here. she likes it. they seem nice and friendly and they genuinely care about the employees and the business. I'm shocked at the level of tansperancy that all employees have. Happy to support them.
I'd never been in a second hand shop that had such quality material. I really enjoyed the experience shopping there (also saved a ton on some new shirts!)
Very strange pricing, especially when some items I was selling were passed over because of "condition"... I saw items for sale with stains on them for nearly retail.
They have fantastic clothes and accessories for just about everyone. They carry used name brand clothing and accessories that are in great condition. My grand daughters loved it.
I'm here entirely too often. It'd be almost shameful if I didn't feel as though I were making off with a handful of treasure when exiting toward the parking lot. I've shopped at BEs all over the country and this is definitely my favorite store. The staff is sweet and knowledgeable and helpful to the full extent of good customer service. In response to common themes in other reviews, I think it's silly to expect people to be dripping sweetness while they help you shop. You're there to find fun things to wear, not to have handmaidens at your beck and call. The selection is hit or miss, as is with most thrift stores, but the finds are golden and worth spending upwards of an hour here. The prices for higher end items are usually sold at significantly lower numbers than their retail value and the brands I love to wear are consistently in rotation. If you plan to shop there, expect to be pleasantly surprised by how many things you never knew you needed.
Clothes for cheap
The customer service has changed. Unfortunately :( I've been a customer there since their old location. Hopefully in the future I can write a better review. I'll try again.
Best place to search for clothes...staff was so nice & helpful...prices were great..:)
"Boss Girl" wannabes running the store. Overpriced and overworn clothes on par with Savers
Great to shop, good finds, but good luck trying to sell your clothes...they’re very particular.
I have found some hidden gems at Buffalo Exchange. This particular location (speedway) is right across from the U of A so I almost always get lucky and find something of great quality - both brand and wear. The shoe section is my favorite, havent purchased clothes there in a while. It is second hand so of course it's hit or miss but there are some good things if you really look. My best find so far was a pair of Stuart Weitzman leather booties I purchased for $35, really good condition -- WIN. In terms of selling back your own clothes, I stopped bringing them my clothes as they are extremely picky. I felt the clothes I was bringing were not far off from lots of the clothes I've seen there but hey, that's just one woman's opinion. I will still go there every now and then to check out the shoes. There's always a good amount of people in there. Prices seem fair plus it's Tucson local so even if they won't take my clothes, still feels good to support them.
It can get pretty pricey for thrifting. I never find much clothes like the ones in New York and Miami but but I bring in often to get cash.
Waste of time
This place wasn't bad honestly, but could just be so much better. The staff was totally great and they have really good fashion here, but as far as the trading and selling, I was disappointed. I brought in a bunch of great clothes and they didn't buy them because they weren't absolutely spotless. Some of them were worn maybe once but it's like I had to get it dry-cleaned before they would sell it. I also was in a rush for a flight (which I mentioned) and the girl who was checking my clothes out constantly (I guess the manager) had other employees asking her how much to buy things for. It was essentially one girl appraising all 3 lines and it was getting frustrating for all 3 lines. I'll definitely be back to give them another shot, as well as do some shopping, but wasn't thrilled this time.
Very cool finds. Vintage section was fun and some good finds
Awesome selections with much to browse through..
Good choices and really good prices
Great place to shop. Everyone is nice and friendly. The don't use plastic bags which is wonderful
so much affordable fashion PLUS- resale my gently used pieces when I need quick cash! very fair & suppa FUN!
I love this place, have shopped here sonce the 80's.
I've been a customer of this store for years. In the last 8 years that I've lived in Tucson, I have witnessed the franchise downscale from 4 stores to 1, and I've wondered why. Today, I got my answer. I walked in their only store left today, with designer accessories (Coach and Michael Kors). Wonderful, gently used condition, and I was turned away because of either minor wear on a strap, or older styles. I was told that they were looking for items that resembled items they've seen on runways. When I looked in the store, many of their items looked much older than mine, with much more wear. I found this very distressing, and realized that I just don't believe that they're buying much anymore, unless it's less than a year old, highly valuable, and will only pay a small price. I still believe in their mission, but I will never sell my items there again. I leave this review as a warning to anyone looking to sell their items. Best to take your "older styles", and donate to a worthy and respectfully appreciative charity, who will love your items. You'll even get a tax write off.
Great clothes, purses, shoes and everything and awesome prices friendly knowledgable staff makes this my fav.
Very friendly staff
I've given this place so many chances, but a b*tchy male employee literally just said "excuse you" to me when I turned a corner and accidentally almost ran into him! Umm in what universe is it ok to say that to anyone, much less a customer? And I'm not even mad that they don't buy my clothes, clearly it's stuff I don't even want, but that's the only thing that usually makes it worth the trip to buy clothes from Buffalo, because most of their clothes are outdated (not in a cool vintage way, more like circa 2005) and have threads hanging off of them. Honestly, I've really tried to give them my business because I know buying secondhand is more sustainable but it's not worth dealing with their stuck up employees and digging through piles of lame clothes.
Best place to find the highest quality used clothing at good prices. Some people claim their prices are a bit high but you get what you pay for here! Still a lot cheaper than buying new. I miss their Eastside location.
Manager was really nice
Everything over priced cheaper buying new and supper stuck up staff
There are a lot if items in the store. There are no public bathrooms. They charge you for a bag to bring home your purchases
White manager very prejudice. Never going back....but for you white folks, you'll fit right in ...enjoy
Helpful and informative employees, great selection, exactly what I expected; in a good way.
High prices used items
If they don't take your clothes donate to charity!
Good selection of casual and professional clothes, shoes, and accessories for men and women. Friendly service, and if you look hard you can find some great deals on quality stuff.
Very well-curated thrift store, with some very funky finds. Decent prices too.
A large selection of clothes and an attentive staff. Wide range of pricing, from $1 to $40.
If you need to sell some clothes, this is the best place in town to do it. Staff is awesome
Not so great clothes at not so great prices.
Horrible, lazy workers with no sense of customer service. Waste of time. All junk, and rude people. Go to Twice as Nice.
Decent selection. Nice employees.
My favorite place ever for unique only...
Helpful staff
Very very bad experience... Went in to sell my brand new shoes that were kinda tight but could not return to the store. And before even looking up the shoe she said nope it's fake can't take them... So i asked my girl friend who is white to see what they would tell her an what do you know they were very nice and gave her a offer.. she refused an let them Know about everything that was said to me they to apologise to her but the damage has been done... So IF you are of color AN if you want to shop here have someone white with you PERIOD.
Very helpful staff
This place is AMAZING!!! The staff are always very welcoming and helpful and definitely care about their customers. The prices are fair given that their inventory is in very good condition. Found some Good American pants, which retail at $100-$180, for less than $30!! Very hip, original and up to date with current fashion trends. I love it here and would recommend to anyone looking for high end brands at an affordable price and also for nice, trendy and unique clothing!
Friendly staff and always a surprising selection. Great place to find unique clothing items for a deal
They were quick, professional and had donation options for unpurchased items.
The clothing is clean if your buying, but if you are selling, good luck! They are super picky what they accept and it has to be the latest fashion.
My wife's spent a fortune here, she goes in 1 day late for the return deadline and Christine is awfully rude about it. Way to ruin an experience and lose a loyal customer.
Unique stuff, great prices
cute clothes. way overpriced. all the clothes are stuff you'd find at urban outfitters.
Adored this place! Although I didn't purchase anything today, I loved the atmosphere and the wide selection! Must go if you love these types of stores.
Nice clothes on the cheap
My dad was shopping at Buffalo Exchange today. When he was leaving the cashier said to my dad "Have a nice day the rest of your life" in a rude tone. My father has been a patron of Buffalo Exchange since the late 1970s and was very insulted by her comment. This is not the right way to treat a loyal customer of many years. He felt that he was discriminated against due to his age.
The best staff you could ever find. I personally know how in depth there application process is from experience. There's three screenings to get employed here and you're lucky if you make it to the third because it's very selective. Their selection is usually up with the trend and you can always find clothes based on local events or holidays like Halloween or a local favorite "White Linen Night". Their pricing leans more towards a typical clothing store like Forever 21 rather than a thrift store but you can usually always leave with a good find. I often times sell my clothes to the store but when selling you should cater to what the store would like to buy. Nothing old-fashioned, raggedy, or stained because they usually keep everything up to date on fashion. Would definitely suggest taking a trip here when passing through Magazine Street. It's in a perfect location
Love this place. Have gotten lots of great stuff here
Good deals
Full of variety but very pricey. My suggestion is : Go to other stores JCP or outlets by the River and look for sales.
Honestly, I love Buffalo Exchange, but parking their food trucks and Buffalo "bus" across the handicapped parking is not cool. They are always rearranging their racks on the floor and sometimes it is hard to shop in a wheelchair. I interacted with Nathan recently (newer crew member) who is incredibly rude and pompous. I was asking about the new store Trade Post and he said that it wasn't handicapped friendly and all their stuff is for the elderly. He thought that was funny. Incorrigible.
I was very disappointed with this place. The lady that was helping me was being very rude. She told me that all of my clothes were ugly and that they are old. 75% of my clothes have never been worn or still had the tags on them. She didn't even look at all of my clothes she just took them out and then put them right back into the bag.
Best selection of used clothing at reasonable sometimes very low cost.
I've been going to buffalo exchange for a while now n this store is the worst when it comes to convenience and employees. I buy Atleast a $100 worth of stuff every time i shop and still experience the same thing every time. The last time i shopped here i am in a rush, after being so easily sidetracked in such a largely unorganized store, and at the check out line the associate had to stop ringing me up 3 different times to run to the back to do a price check Cuz they marked the items wrong! So then i had to decide whether i should still buy the used item for twice as much as it was priced, of to give it up so that the associate could prolly buy it later that day. Of course i don't care what I'm paying for it (long as it doesn't look like it's been at the store for a decade) n kept saying "whatever I'll still get it" so the girl looks like she was almost mad id still get it! She's just lucky i didn't get mad for not selling an item at the price that it's advertised at (which is illegal by the way) or get impatient for a 17 minute check out when i had to be to work right after...
Rude staff completely stuck up will never go back to this place!! The lady was even a manager!! Go figure
Trendy
Don't sell here because they rip you off like you wouldn't believe and they're pretentious stuck up staff is unhelpful
You can always find something here. Quality clothes, shoes, bags & hats! Jewelry too!
Not much to tell .
Good place to find like new condition clothes for a good price--but a bit high for a thrift shop. They've never accepted any of my clothes, even valuable nice stuff. And yet they've got some bizarre stuff they bought. It's all about condition to them.
First off for a used clothing store the clothes are expensive. In being in an expensive store the lighting sucks. Bad fluorescent lights everywhere. I get to the counter and they don't even have a bag and the clerk just handed me a heap of clothes unfolded. Spend $170 on five shirts and no bag and no folding that place should make enough money to at least get new lighting and buy some bags for their customers. Never going back. Unless I want bad service bad lighting and more bad service.
Used to love this store, not quite as much anymore. They have a nice variety of gently used clothing items, but I find many are over priced considering they are still used - mostly without tags. Every once in a while you will find a bargain though. Was a favorite several years ago, not so much anymore.
This is a great place
This store may be small, but their selection is not. There were some great vintage pieces as well as modern boutique items. My husband and I found some amazing deals!
I love to shop at this Buffalo Exchange!
The WHOLE TEAM was AMAZING, like always...welcoming, kind, sweet, thoughtful, complimentary, and helpful!
Great service great prices. Eco friendly
Love it! Beautiful spacious store filled with a huge variety of styles and sizes. The staff is friendly and helpful. I put together a lot of costumes, and buffalo exchange always has something that brings it all together. Then when I find that my home is overrun by all of the cloths I couldn’t resist, I just sell ‘em back to Buffalo Exchange, and for a brief moment, I feel like I have control over my life.
I took in 6 or 7 shirts that were only a couple months old, a few never worn yet from American Eagle plus 3 pairs of AE shorts New tag still on. They accepted none. Bc they weren't current styles. Really?! Yet they had Levis 501 jeans that looked like they were from 2002 for sale.
Very friendly staff. Interesting used clothing. Men's stuff also.
Lot of clothes, shoes, and purses.
Super trendy and reasonably priced
