A ServPro team of three capable, kind, and determined cleaners came to our fire damaged, sooty home, donned their masks and set to work cleaning an enormous variety of homegoods which we had presumed were to join so many other ruined possessions in the dumpster. The magic they wrought on beloved belongings blackened by fire still amazes us.They were able to restore books, lamps, framed art, and other miscellany to a remarkable, usable state. While all our fabric and leather furniture was ruined, the wooden tables, chairs, mirrors, desks and bed frames were returned to a high gloss, usable state. In fact, some of the furniture looked better than it had in years. We felt very vulnerable after the fire so we were especially grateful that they had so quickly earned our trust and confidence. After years of daily use by students the Culinary kitchen at the Windham Regional Career Center was a mess. When I took on the role of interim director of the center the condition of the kitchen was a huge priority and one that called for much more than just a coat of paint. Given the already overwhelming summer schedule of the district facilities crew having the cleaning done by district staff was not possible. ServPro of Windham and Windsor Counties came to the rescue. They provided a very professional and pleasant crew that did everything from scrubbing the walls and floors to cleaning the kitchen equipment. My satisfaction with SERVPRO's service is twofold, as there were two completely different tasks; however, they each were for potential or real black and/or other molds. The first service was to remove damp/damaged sheetrock and insulation and to dry out the entire ceiling area around our newly enclosed chimney, for which the flashing had been improperly installed. All the while our new furniture and Asian rugs were carefully protected. It's all dry, ready for paint, then move (back) in. The second task was to scrub and treat the walls and floor of the entire basement, which has newly stopped water leaks that caused stains and molds for years. It absolutely sparkles! Supervised by the same thoroughly efficient SERVPRO Manager, Jake Dickinson, two different crews did the work -- professionally, efficiently, cheerfully, respectfully and on a timely basis!
