Given I’ve never had business with this company and from what I experienced today, I do not think I will ever. At about 9:45am 7/25/18 I had one of your trucks tailgating me between 500e and state street on 3900s (I was going the speed limit) he passed fast and cut me off with no signal. We met at the red light, naturally, and then the guy waved his tongue at me in a very disgusting sexual manner. If your workers are willing to drive erratically and make sexually explicit motions at strangers, how safe are they in our homes?

Workers don’t speak English. While replacing our roof, they cut our cable line to the house. Xfinity came out two days later, fixed it, and the well trained staff CUT IT AGAIN! That says enough. UPDATE: got a phone call from Gavin, concerned about my negative review that had been previously left. He assured me that this was a poor communication between jobsite/administration and wanted to make sure things were resolved, and that I was completely satisfied. Companies that do this are worth doing business with knowing that they are aware of your importance as a customer.

Don't waste your time with American Roofing never called back for appointment. American Roofing I called to make an appointment they got my info and said they would have one of there guys call me back to set up an appointment. After 3 days no call back. I called them back and they said they were too busy to call because of all the storm we have had lately. They could not call NOT HAPPY. They could have told me this when I called the first time. I Had to call them back myself. Wasted 3 days of my time waiting for them to call for a estimate. Figured they didn't consider my time, so I frustratingly told him I wouldn't care to do business with them. I would not recommend American roofing at all. What a nightmare.

Andrew with American Roofing was knowledgeable and friendly. He was quick to return calls and emails. He showed up when he said he would and knows roofs. We talked about all the options and techniques. I thought I wanted a certain vent system and he explained that there is a better option. They only use quality material. I also chose them because I believe they will be around well into the future, should any issues arise. The price was also very competitive. I would and have recommended them to friends and neighbors.

We had a good experience. The introductory meeting and bid made us feel comfortable and we did like the price. The sales person spent a lot of time with us helping us pick out the color and it is amazing. We also upgraded up one level to a better shingle. This price also beat the competitors. We were expecting an entire crew of workers, however, it was only two men. They did very good work but it did take longer than expected.

I worked with Andrew Yorgason at American roofing when I needed to repair my roof from some wind damage. He was super helpful in going over all my options, being extremely patient when I was comparing bids from multiple companies and had lots of questions going back and forth. He never once seemed pushy, and was more than willing to jump into details about the different technologies and options that were available. I definitely didn't feel like I was getting the typical salesperson treatment, and I really appreciated that. Besides that, the roof was installed in a timely fashion, and the work looks solid. They were also quick to move a gutter downspout that had been placed near my AC unit. The debris cleanup afterwards could've been a little better, but all in all, I would recommend working with American Roofing. They gave me a really competitive price, a good product, and good service.

I almost went with another company and I am so glad I chose American Roofing! I had a few bids for the roof done however as soon as I met Richard I knew this was a company I wanted to do business with. They basically matched the price of a competitor but offered a lot more. Richard also gave a much better recommendation to fix my leaking shed after seeing the sheds pitch didn't allow enough runoff and would just leak again when the other companies offered to just re shingle it. They also replaced part of the sheds roof that had water damage as well as other places on my roof and added ice shields to prevent the same issue from happening again. they also added vents all down the length of the house to help with heat and cooling. They even re roofed where my swamp cooler had been (I had an ugly vent there). I was so happy the time was taken to explain what had happened to my old roof and how certain upgrades will be done to prevent them. A few weeks after the install was complete I had some questions about the roof and called Richard who immediately came out that afternoon to take a look and explained what I needed to know. I will recommend American Roofing to everyone now because of how good of an experience I had.

My dad has been a contractor in the Salt Lake valley for over 30 years and American roofing is who he recommended to me. I was getting solar panels installed on my garage and wanted to do my roof before they were put on. I have to admit I didn't think about putting the roof on until the last minute but I called American Roofing and spoke with Andrew Yorgason and explained my situation. They were able to come out the next day and give my a free estimate and recommendation on what material to use and had my roof completed in between snowstorms in Jan within a week of me calling them. They were able to fix some rotting roof trusses and underlayment that were unexpected and it didn't seem to slow them down at all. Over all a very good experience and they were a little cheaper than some of my other estimates. I highly recommend them.

My experience with American Roofing was positive from beginning to end. I called them because of a referral from someone who researches things carefully. I'm glad I followed his recommendation. From estimate to final inspection, American Roofing showed up on time, got the job done faster than I expected and left my yard and driveway clean. In May 2018, Cottonwood Heights, UT experienced a rare and violent hailstorm. My roof was severely damaged. The vents were shattered, the shingles were cratered and much of the asphalt was removed down to the base layers. The storm broke and damaged the majority of our East windows, doorways, gutters and fascia. Within 24 hours there was what can only be described as "storm chasers" canvasing the neighborhood claiming they would guaranty a full replacement and deal directly with the insurance companies. They told a compelling story that convinced many neighbors to sign an irrevocable contract, basically subrogating their rights to this company. Without even receiving any service, the residents had no way to get out of the two page contract without a severe fee. This made no sense to me. I chose to call my insurance company directly. They immediately dispatched an seasoned adjuster and he declared the entire roof, windows, much of the gutters, and doors eligible for full replacement. What I noticed immediately is that my insurance company's estimate was higher than the "storm chasers" said it would cost. Then I asked them about their materials and realized they were planning to replace local roofs with average materials on $750,000 homes. Not acceptable. I talked to a few people and checked Google reviews. In each case, American Roofing was recommended without reservation. Gavin May of American Roofing showed up promptly and agreed with the damage. We discussed all possible options, timelines, materials, costs and more importantly we discussed quality. The estimate for superior quality materials and installation on what is a very difficult roof turned out to be very fair and within the insurance company's estimate. There was some back and forth between American Roofing and the insurance company and the insurance company actually raised their settlement based on a discussion with American Roofing. We picked out the materials with the help of Gavin and the work was several weeks out. American Roofing volunteered to patch up the vents in case of rain, but I did it myself. Here's what I liked about American Roofing and their crew. 1. They used a seasoned professional team of 2-3 people for the whole project. I have seen homes where there were 10-12 people running around on roofs with material flying everywhere and roof getting completed in a day. 2. Attention to quality and cleanup. This crew was meticulous in their quality and detail and communication. I have a new driveway. They placed 3/4" plywood down before they dropped a very large container. The container didn't impede our ability to use the garage. They cleaned up every day. You couldn't tell they were there. No debris in the flowers or shrubs. They used a rolling magnet each day. They blew off any small particles. 3. They installed roof vents versus the turtle vents. The original construction was inadequate and American Roofing recommended and installed the best roof vent system. 4. We had to remove heating cables. They told me that they could do this, but suggested we don't replace them because they could be damaged and a danger. When it cam to replacing them, they assisted with this. They were also integral in assisting in getting the insurance company to replace the cables. 5. They inspected the work each day. They inspected the final project. We have ridge caps on the top and they checked these and assured us that if there is an issue, they would fix it down the road. 6. Communication is vital and a rarity. I was always informed of progress and timing. 7. Knowledgeable .Gavin May who assisted with the estimates and determined materials knows what he is talking about. He has experience on a roof. I really never had to deal with anyone else, which is nice. 8. Payments. They worked with me on the down payment and waited until the insurance company provided the final payment (over 30 days after completion). I am confident no one does this. To conclude, if you have a question call this company and Gavin first. Or call me. You can't go wrong.

I definitely recommend going with American Roofing. I had an unusual roof with several ridges and angles. It would be difficult for anyone but they did an awesome job and at a competitive price. The roofing material was top notch. It is worth it to get the best with reliable workmanship and all their guarantees. When you call, ask for Gavin. He was awesome and made sure everything was taken care of. Gavin is very knowledgeable and pointed out things that other companies failed to mention. 5 stars, great work!

We had a small leak in our roof when it rained with a south wind. They came out a few months ago to fix the issue. After $750 they said the problem was fixed. Yesterday we had the first storm since the repair and the leak is still there. I called them today and was told that since it isn't a new roof and has been several months they don't guarantee their work. Now I'm stuck with an expensive flashing that doesn't match my house and the same leak in my roof. I am very upset and will never use or recommend this company to anyone. A leak in a roof can be subjective as to when it actually leaks, how can you not guarantee your work?

I only needed a small repair of some shingles that had blown off. I suppose they could have inflated the job and told me more work needed to be done, but they were honest and helpful.

Their company is called American Roofing and I was expecting blonde hair , blue eyes and English. I was skeptical at first but they worked hard, steady and they earned my respect. The company has an efficient operation. As soon as you gives the go ahead they send a dumpter and their installers. Shortly after the old roof is removed the material comes in and deliver to the roof. During the day their supervisor Marco came in and inspected. He was meticulous in every detail. I liked that. There are a couple of problems with the rain gutter that they installed. They came back once to complete the job, but did not fix the down spout problems, nor the minor leak. I emailed my concerns and have received no responce in over 3 weeks. I guess I made the mistake of making a full payment before all my concerns were addressed. Don't make my mistake of making your final payment until EVERYTHING IS FINISHED TO YOUR ABSOLUTE SATISFACTION.

My dealings with Andrew Y. at American Roofing was top notch. Everyone involved in the project was friendly, honest, and professional. On top of providing a fair and comfortable business transaction, they also provided a quality product. For my project, they reroofed, constructed new eves, and resided my house. As a first time home owner and having no clue how to navigate the construction industry, I felt comfortable that I wasn’t getting taken advantage of. Andrew went out of his way numerous times to explain “my best option”, even if it didn’t profit American Roofing. For my project, they were replacing the decking of my roof. Therefore, at times, small portions of my attic was exposed. As accidents do happen, a worker accidently stepped through my attic and created a hole through my ceiling. I feel at these times a company can show its true colors. American Roofing resolved the issue with genuine concern and urgency. Also, I would like to note that during the reroofing project, while my roof was half way finished, it rained off and on for a couple days. As a quality roofer should, they always appeared to have a certain level of preparedness for the weather. My type “A” personality came out and I found myself in my attic at 2am during the peak of a rainstorm. I didn’t see a single drop of rain in my house! This was a good example of their professionalism. What’s a review without a little critique? During the re-roofing project, a lot of debris was removed from my house. The debris was thrown off the roof onto the ground before it ended up in a dumpster. I felt like there could have been a little more effort to protect the landscaping around my house. RIP plants. I hear some Rubbermaid bins or 5-gallon buckets placed on-top of the plants is a good move. Other than that, I have no complaints. 10 out 10 would recommend them!

I called several roofing companies to come and give me a bid. One didn't show up to give me an estimate, one showed up looked at it and said they would email the bid to me that day. (still waiting for that bid) American roofing showed up on time for the estimate, had the bid back to me when they said they would. Repairs were done when they said they would be. My sales person was Andrew, I felt like he was good at explaining the bid. I had the repairs done and so far so good. I would highly recommend American Roofing for any roofing repair!

We just had our roof re-shingled by American Roofing – a complete removal and replace. We worked with Gavin May, he was great, professional, and good to work with. He took the time to explain each step that was needed and answer questions and he gave us a variety of options and prices to meet our needs. We felt confident in his estimate to perform the work – it was a little higher than some of their competitors but based on references and reviews we decided to go with them and we are glad that we did. As they were working on the roof they made us aware of a problem with our stucco that needed be addressed. They were patient while we found a contractor for the stucco work and helpful in working and cooperating with a different company before they finished their work. They spent time cleaning up during and after their work every day and at the end of the job. We felt like everyone that we met from American Roofing from the estimator, superintendent, roofers and inspector were all very invested in making this experience good for us. The roof looks great and we have and will continue to recommend them to others.

Outstanding doesn't even begin to describe the experience I had with American Roofing. I just recently bought a house and seems like as soon as I signed the papers the flat portion of my roof started to leak....in the middle of winter. I mainly rely on reviews of companies when deciding who to call. I called several companies and three showed up to give me an estimate. Jon Stott was absolutely amazing from the start and he explained the process to me and answered all my questions. Jon was the only one to do this out of the 3 companies that showed up and it's because of him why I chose American Roofing. When looking at my flat roof for the estimate he informed me that the rest of my roofing shingles showed some wear and to keep an eye on it and probably within the next year or so it would need to be redone. He did not try to sell me on doing my WHOLE roof. The estimate I received was very reasonable and below the other bids I got. I met with a guy who gave me a quote for some work I needed to done for a new house I was moving into. We met on a Friday and the work was supposed to be done the following Monday. Come Monday they were a no show so I figured they would come the next day but they didn't come that day either. The work I needed done wasn't anything major so I figured that they weren't ever going to come and I never called to see what the problem was as I figured I would just call someone else because they didn't seem dependable. Well about 2 and half months later they showed up to my house while I was out of town and did part of the work that was originally agreed to and sent me an invoice for the full estimate. We recently had our roof replaced by American Roofing. We are very particular about our home and also very price conscious, but will not sacrifice quality to save a few dollars. We received another bid from a reputable roofing company. In comparing the bid from American Roofing with the other bid, we found that we were receiving the same quality products and workmanship from both companies with the biggest difference being the price -- American Roofing was over $2,000 cheaper for the same product! Andrew came out to our home and spent a lot of time reviewing what we wanted done and answered the many questions we had. We not only reroofed our house but had two sheds to reroof as well. Our comfort level was high going into the project because of the information we had received from Andrew. Assurances were made that the project would be managed in such a way that debris would be cleaned up and the project site always clean at the end of the day. The workers were very careful not to damage flowers or bushes and could be seen cleaning up small pieces of debris from the yard. They even had large magnets to retrieve nails that were not visible in the grass! Jesus and his crew were courteous and very professional and did an excellent job on the roof. Marcos helped with the instillation of some rain gutter that had to be removed during the reproofing project and performed the final inspection after the work was done. We were impressed with the rain gutter crew as they were very careful to ensure that the gutters were reinstalled correctly so the water flowed correctly to the down spouts. All in all, we could not be more pleased with the finished product, and would recommend American Roofing to anybody considering a roofing project -- you will receive a great price and professional workmanship.

I called twice to have someone come look at my roof and give me a bid. Both times I spoke to a nice girl who told me that she would have a roofer/inspector call me to set up an appointment. BOTH TIMES nobody called me back. After not having anyone call me the first time to schedule an appointment, I called the office back and the girl apologized, she was very nice, but told me that they for some reason had cancelled my request for an appointment. I am assuming that is what happened the second time, since nobody attempted to contact me. I would have loved to see what kind of bid they would give me, but unfortunately I will not be finding out. When we started to have the same problems before their repair, shortly after, we went to them for help. They continually ignored our calls and messages. They came, said they needed a ladder and never returned. It went back to the ignored phone calls and emails. To this day we cannot get a hold of anyone. The house required about 60% new wood fascia and decking replacement around the eaves. This company has been so responsive and great to work with. We have had numerous issues with our commercial roof as it was very old and leaky. We switched to American Roofing from a previous company and have been impressed by the difference! Ultimately, we had our entire roof replaced and we also had American Roofing do the job. After numerous quotes and scenarios on what the issue could be, Gavin was willing to meet with our insurance adjuster to look at our roof (None of the others were willing to do that) it was determined that we had serious hail damage. Gavin went over and beyond what was expected. I learned a lot about roofing from him. He is very responsive and always kept us posted on status of the project. I could go on and on about our experience, so to sum up I would give them a rating of 20 if I could. Our entire neighborhood was hit by a massive hail storm at the end of the summer and everyone needed new roofs. We had heard great things about American Roofing and decided to use them for our repairs. Andrew was great to work with and made sure that our insurance appraisal covered the cost of all of the repairs that were needed. He also checked in with us a few times when he was in the neighborhood and saw us outside and while the crew was working on our roof. We were very happy with the work that was done and the way that our requests and preferences were accommodated. The roofers took very little time off for lunch and worked right through to dusk. I had a full roof shingle removal and they also cleaned up their work site daily even sweeping the property with a magnet to pick up any nails that may have fallen. American did a great job, I got a better quality shingle for the same price as many other contractors quoted and lower than others. Gavin did a great job in explaining the process to me and answering my questions throughout the whole process.They were up front with all the costs and when they discovered I needed some additional decking they made sure the additional cost was approved by me before moving on. The workers were respectful of my family and my property. The reason for only 4 stars is some of the finish work was left undone, a cord that was tucked in was left hanging, and some gaps left on my back patio with the aluminum on the end. Nothing that I can't do however. I would recommend American to anyone and when I need a new roof again I will definitely being having them out again.

I had 5 separate quotes to replace the roof on my house and while the quote from American was not the lowest it was comparable and I felt comfortable with Gavin. I had some roofing problems and an estimator came and looked it over and gave me a fair assessment and bid the next day. When we talked, he gave a thorough explanation of my options, including fully fixing the problem as well as a fair analysis of what to do if we were to not do the repair at the present time, including what to watch for. The estimator was very professional and polite and was not pushy. Previously, I have used this company to add a gutter for my backyard patio. They were quick and did excellent work. I also hired them to replace the roof material over my patio, which had a very shallow grade, from shingles to a membrane. The quality of the work was excellent as well as all phases of the project (estimating, installation, and billing).
