Ihad ars come out and unplug my ac drain. They went outside and snapped the pipe off the side of the house and told my wife we dont need it. Then unplugged it from outside and charged us 278$ even after talking to corporate they still wont work with me. Would never reccomend them. Very unprofessional for such a big company.

A 1 star is being generous. They came out the 1st day and basically Jerry rigged it. The 2nd day the guy didn't get here til almost 9pm pulled a bunch of stuff out said we needed a new motherboard he didn't have one but he'd call the office in the morning so they could get one (mind you the unit is less than 3 months old). The next day they called said they had a motherboard and someone would be our between 4 and 6 to install, 6pm came around no one showed called they said that the supervisor himself would come out and put it on personally his name would be Ray but he couldn't get there til 7pm because he was on an installation. 7:30pm rolls around no one shows call them up they say they don't have a supervisor named Ray and there's 3 people ahead of us and they don't think they have a motherboard but he would call the big boss and someone would get back to us, it's now 8:05 and no word it's 90 plus in here and we have an elderly man on oxygen. This company definitely left a bad impression on my books and I wouldn't be recommending them in the future.

Scheduled an appointment for plumbing work to get done and they simply never showed. I called and the operator kept telling me someone was on the way for about 8 hours that day. I called Suburban Plumbing the next day and they showed up on the spot. I loved them so much that I had them replace every line I had in my house to stainless steel braided lines. I had them fix the original issue which was a broken pipe under my sink and then I had him inspect my entire plumbing system. I found that my hot water heater was on the fritz and he replaced it within 30 minutes. Since they did so much Suburban Plumbing also threw in an entire lifetime Plumbing home warranty. This includes free service calls and and then 20% off any plumbing repairs. ARS is a joke and I’d highly recommend to anyone to use Suburban Plumbing!!

ARS installed our HVAC system. The system continuously has issues, and there is no after hours support because we are "new construction". Avoid this company at all costs - unless you like living in a 100 degree house. Completely unacceptable (lack of) service!!!

I needed some work done in my main bathroom shower. Called to set up an appointment to get an estimate. They were supposed to be there between 9-11 am. They did not show up until 3 pm with no call that they would be late. When they did show up it was the supervisor and he did apologize and gave an estimate that was within reason for the work we needed done. We decided to go ahead and set up for that same week Friday. Was told by him we were going to be first call of the day and he would be there between 9 and 10 am. Well Friday comes around and still no one at 11. We call and they say another technician by the name of Matt will be there in 20 minutes. He finally arrives at 12:30. He did not have the correct work order or even the parts when he arrived. He was rude the entire time he was here. The work he did seems to be up to standard. The attitude of this guy was not professional at all. He stated numerous times about how this job should have been charged as twice the amount it was. That was not my problem. He was here until almost 7 pm in which time he was outside for 30-45 minutes talking with another associate in my yard. Not to mention the times he went out to talk on the phone. The work was good but the personality and punctuality of this company has a long way to go. I give the only 1 star and that is only hoping my faucet last.

First, I have to say that they did an excellent job fixing my sewer line. I had roots in two sections and they replaced 20'. I understood going in that this would be a messy job. HOWEVER, their Bobcat with backhoe tore the hell out of my front yard, making it impossible to mow much of it and leaving a muddy mess. Because of recent rains, the ground was soggy and there was no attempt to put down plywood or limit the areas where the tracks ripped up my yard and made deep ruts. Furthermore, they tore out part of my sprinkler line with the backhoe, with no discussion of repairing it. Finally, all of the clay that was in the sewer line pit is now on top of my yard. For $3200, you'd expect more care. As one of guys said as he left, "Dude, you're going to need some serious landscaping". No foolin... THREE WEEKS LATER: After my Google review, the ARS supervisor came by and offered to repair my sprinkler line. Which was great...I thought after it was fixed I would increase my rating. There have been a number of broken appointments (some legitimate because of rain), but theoretically someone is showing up today to fix it. Stay tuned...

I never received service from this company because I refuse to give them my money when they consistently call me non stop ringing my phone off the hook start calling at 8 a.m. and will call up until 9 p.m.. I constantly have asked them to remove my name off their list and they continue to blow my phone up and when I call back they won't answer they hang up on me do not do service with people like that

Hands down worst service experience ever, wish ZERO was an option. It took the crew 2 weeks to come for scheduled service (to replace ductwork). The 1 day job turned into a week and the installers put their feet through the ceiling twice. They also let installation clog out HVAC which caused unit to leak causing more damage. We were not made aware of the damage, intallers left a mess....just left through our lockbox access. Repair crew did a horrible job and we had to hire a contractor to re-fix properly. STEER CLEAR of ARS!!!

ARS installed a new unit and air handler in 2016. Has worked great until this past Saturday. I called to ask about my warranty. Was told I would get a call back on Monday from the local office. Nope. Called Monday to set up service. Around 12:45pm I call them. Spent 20 minutes on the phone answering all the usual questions. Was told the soonest appointment would be Thursday afternoon. Said ok set it up. They would call before coming. Thursday comes, husband takes the day off of work. At 2:30 he calls to get an estimated time of arrival. Was told there was no appointment set up. I call and get the same information. I want to talk to a supervisor for an explanation. They are all gone, but one would contact me on Friday. I left my cell number. It is now 8:45pm on Friday and I have heard nothing from anyone. All this company wants is your money they have zero interest in anything else. Do not use them for any service.

I have tried several times to get a quote on a new a/c system and I got a blank quote sent to email. Once I informed them of this still never got one. I just got excuses and they kept paying the blame instead of just trying to fix the problem. I think they might be a little prejudice against people who aren't so we'll to do because I live in a not so good neighborhood and I think way past of why they never tried to resolve this .

My daughter ( Kim Driggers) has already covered most of the topics I feel were not very professional from ARS; of which punctuality and rudeness were the paramount issues. I do take extreme homage however when a technician does not respond to questions or concerns during the installation process and additionally kept bringing up the fact that the agreed to price quote was extremely low and should have been a lot more. His supervisor provided the quote so I feel that issue was internal and that should not have been addressed at all to me. When I asked about warranty he was very short and everything I touched is one year. I asked exactly what was covered and he said , I quote " everything I touched is covered for one year , pretty easy to understand right?" close quote. The technician never demostated his work except turned on one faucet, not both nor the shower. I do not even know the manufacturer of the bathtub faucet and the boxe it come it was not provided so we could see what brand and model was installed. If warranty work does arise I do know Matt will never return to my daughters house. My final point is that my granddaughter is a special needs child and John knew that and so did Matt. The amount of time the water was off was not of concern , however Mtt is a smoker and he had frequent breaks . Upon returning into the house the cigarette smoke was still entrailed in his clothing so when he returned to the house he had a strong of smoke odor. I do believe he has a right to smoke but I also think that more sensitivity of a smoker working in a non-smoker house should be considered

I contacted ARS on Saturday after trying for 2 days for find a plumber who could turn on and connect my gas stove, to my surprise Amy told me someone would be there in 2 hours. I also needed to connect my sink and dishwasher and disconnect my garbage disposal, Amy told me William will be there in 2 hours he will connect it. William showed up on time and was courteous, professional and friendly. I will definitely ask for him when I need a plumber again. He was a pleasure to work with.

This company deserves zero stars. They were scheduled to come to my house between 2-5 yesterday, but they never came. I rescheduled for the next day between 4-8. They never showed up and didn’t even call. Poor customer service. Don’t use this company!!!!!!! At least give your customer a call and tell them you can’t make it. I will be going with a different company. Don’t waste your time with this company!!!

I had full furnace and ac system put in October 2018 and it still hasn't been inspected by the city when u call them it's a run around. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND USING THEM! They should have stayed with plumbing and left the AC service to the pros

EXTREMELY SKETCH! They'll do what they say IF you call in multiple times and have a manager handle it. They do a great job at first to get your money. I've even had a tech say, "Yeah, we promise the world" when I asked him about something they promised and why I hadn't received it. We we're told we'd get a nest thermostat and it was written as something else on the contract. After making a stink about it, they finally sent a tech to give us what we were promised. The manager said it's not the first time this had happened. Sketchy. They took a ton of chunks out of the dry wall. The refund of $400 wasn't coming so I had to call in 4 times to find out they submitted the wrong info and it was denied. Extremely sketchy...I find that quite fishy and wonder how often this "mistake" happens and the passive get screwed over. Not me ARS. I will call day and night until I get what I was promised. The only reason I gave 2 stars was bc I actually have received everything (except the refund which they resubmitted) that was promised. Just be prepared to call in numerous times and make sure you get a manager. I'm not sure if it's just this company or all of them. I honestly haven't heard of a good company to use.

Sylvester was professional and efficient. I'm disturbed that my system was installed 4 years ago. 2 years ago we had to pay nearly$1000. for the A coil assembly to be replaced and recharge the unit under warranty. Today 2 years later our unit was low on refrigerant and it cost over $600. to recharge the unit. Not really my idea of spendin over $12,000. for a new system and spend outrageous amounts for warranty repairs. Then I was told these systems only last 6-8 years. Very poor business to sell subpar equipment and not stand behind the warranty. The original diagnosis was incorrect. The system started acting up just a few hours after the refrigerant was added thermostat had "call for service" message on read out. Another tech, Morrow, came out and diagnosed the codes and message, the system was over charged with refrigerant and the thermo-expansion valve was damaged/ sticking. Morrow removed the amount refrigerant that was just added, system started working correctly. The parts were ordered and installed a few days later, system is working as it should. There was no extra charge for the repairs.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. I had an appointment window Saturday from 9-12. After only calling multiple times they showed up at 3:30 with no apology nor phone call to let me know. My tenant sat there for 7.5 hours waiting for the ARS technician. They did not repair the A/c unit correctly and therefore had them return today. My appointment window today was 12-5. I called 3 times this evening and once again ARS failed to deliver..... no show. I waited 8 hours today for their arrival. I cannot understand how a company that operates in this fashion can exist.

Took an entire day off for an 11am - 2 pm appointment scheduled 48 hours in advance.. At 3 pm finally I called and canceled the appt. I then called around town and found someone who wanted to provide great customer service! Don’t waste your time with ARS people!! Find a great local company who values their reputation, not ARS. I seriously doubt ARS even reads these reviews.

As a company I'm not a fan of ARS due to the horrible experience we had on our installation of our air conditioner hence the reason we had to call a technician to come fix our heat on a brand new unit but Roberto Ortiz (our technician) was great. He thoroughly went through everything got our heat working and got us where we need to be. 5 Stars for Roberto 1 Star for ARS / Rescue Rooter. Thank you Roberto

Salesman Ben will hound you even on thanksgiving for a sale. When he finally gets the sale he’s unavailable. The installers came on Saturday they were here for 10.5 hours and did an awful job. The 220 line is wire tied together with caps and black tape, it should have had a disconnect box, they disabled a 110 outlet never told me, didn’t put foam around the line to protect it which will destroy the unit, didn’t reroute the thermostat line. They have a guarantee for 24 hour service which after 2.5 hours the tech finally called me said he didn’t have the parts to fix the issues. Finally got a call from tom the manager he said I would be first customer taken care of today. Well at 8:30am I called only to be told I'm second. Called tom the manager he said he would check into it and had a reply that I got substantial discounts. My reply back what does discounts have to do with services he said he’d call me back never did go figure. I told him limericks was cheaper but felt since they were working with Home Depot they were the best choice (BOY WAS I WRONG) Here’s another kicker they got paid over the phone and I still don’t have a receipt.

New unit in mom's house = $430 bill and open water damage to the ceiling and attic. ARS install team hooked up the unit so it heated and cooled at same time! Bills before "energy saving" equipment $120. Oh and they, per the technician to come out for water damage, didn't seal the tubes for moisture. So when it was over-working, heating and cooling at same time, the moisture created water damage from attic to ceiling. The best yet, you ask? ARS won't let her talk to a manager. Hasn't come out to repair their damage and hasn't covered the bill. Oh let's put the cherry on top, NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY!. I truly want you to think about this when you want to trust these guys

Roberto was the best, we have a new home and had yet to try the heat, had family in town for holidays and everyone was freezing. I figured out the heat was not functioning so had to call for assistance which led me to ARS/Roberto. We were told they were very, very busy as it had recently become cold out and people were having issues all over, they called back 2 times throughout our wait and promised the tech was coming, 3rd call was Roberto and he was at the house and ready to go. We talked, he worked, we talked some more and magically my heater started heating! Cudos to Roberto and ARS for a job well done and a new friend made.

When our new AC we had purchased a month prior went out after a storm, we called ARS late at night. I was hopeful though not expecting it would be fixed that same night. I have a newborn baby in the house and was prepared to go to a hotel. Roberto the technician called and as soon as I mentioned we had a newborn in the house he said he would be there ASAP. He arrived shortly after and was a breath of fresh air during a stressful time. He worked quickly and efficiently, while explaining everything clearly. He had us up and running in no time. I was beyond pleased with his service and kindness. I am also very pleased with our purchase from ARS and the way they took care of us as costumers.

The worst service ever. They tore a huge hole in my wall just to install a water line for my refrigerator. The plumber clearly did not know what he was doing. When I call ARS and spoke with Tom the manager asked for the pictures. I sent them and told me he would reimburse me for the repairs. Well I sent the invoice and pictures of the repairs, and now the liar i dodging my phone calls. DO NOT USE ARS. THEIR Plumbers are incompetent and the managers are DISHONEST

I thought Gary Blume was very good at explaining the process of the fall check up for our heat pump system. He also showed excellent customer service by offering us system upgrades that would enhance the life span of our unit. Gary was always polite and courteous and I would recommend him to other ARS customers.

Had water heater problem at 5 am this morning.. Called ARS and someone was out by 945 am which is awesome in am traffic. Technician was Daniel. I want to give him 20 stars but I can't. He was professional and courteous...and he did a stellar repair. This our 1st time using ARS and we will continue using this company in the future. thank you Daniel!!

Larry, the tech, showed up quickly, and explained that my builder grade unit was dead after six years. He explained the options and I could understand everything he said. Repairing the unit didn’t make sense for lots of reasons. Jeremy Miller, in sales, explained all of the choices I had for new units and gave me plenty of time to ask questions. He quoted me a great price. Preston and Chris installed it the next day. Two days from beginning to end. I was extremely happy that this could be done on my spring break and I didn’t need to take time off from school. Everyone was very professional. Thank you, guys!

Jeromy Miller was my ARS Sales Rep and I can't thank him enough. He evaluated my home and determined that my existing system (16 years old) was to small for my square footage. He suggested an upgrade which sounded like a lot of Dollar Signs to me! To my surprise and delight he crunched the numbers for me - gave me every discount he could possibly produce - and was able to get the overall price down to something I could manage. Now I have a 3 ton Carrier and ALL the rooms in my house are cool for the first time EVER! On a side note: I was telling Jeromy that this was probably a good time to ask for a much needed raise at work. Having been military most of my life, I had never had to ask for a raise. I felt confident enough to tell him that I was really nervous/intimidated by the thought of asking. I asked him...."How do you ask?', "What's the best way to go about it?", etc....So, by the end of our meeting, Jeromy had become a life coach as well. God bless him. Well, the boss has been out on vacation since our discussion so I will have to update you on my raise later. LOL! Jonathon and Mike were my installers and they couldn't have done a better job. They worked for hours in the heat. Their expertise, work ethic, and general personability were beyond reproach. Thanks guys for all the hard work! I am an Operations Manager by trade and I have to speak to the productivity of the call center in North Charleston. I don't know who is running that department but they are dragging the "outside" team down in a big way. Sooo call me! I will get it running like a well oiled machine. There is no excuse for the lack of/slow communication with customers. That's your job for goodness sake. As customers we understand that weather, traffic, etc. can put the team behind schedule and circumstances change. BUT - we need to know so we can manage our lives as well. If I am having to call Jeromy to find out status and then Jeromy is being berated by the department for following up on my behalf...well, Houston - we got a problem! Remember - with out people like Jeromy, Jonathon, and Mike you wouldn't have a job. They deserve your full support, like bend-over-backwards support.

This unit it not even 1 and a half years old and I am relying on window units to keep cool. This system came highly recommended by everyone I talked to. Your technicians have done a great job but at this point, I am really disappointed. Window units are good to keep the house cool but they are noisey not allowing a good night's sleep. Disappointed.

The tech was great had the ac working in under 45 minutes. Too bad customer service was horrible. First called at 12:21 to say I was next and they'd call 30 minutes before the tech arrived. Next call came at 2:55 to tell me I was next and they'd call 30 minutes before the tech arrived. When I said I got that call 2-3 hours ago. I was told 'I like to keep my customers updated '.And this was the second attempt to get service . 2 days earlier I was supposed to be called between 11am and 5pm . About 5:30 I called and was told they would give me a call 30 minutes before the tech arrived. When I got up the next morning I saw a message from the tech at 9:45pm . I get things take longer than expected.

Out of the 3 companies we contacted for quotes to replace our water heater, ARS was heads above all the rest. John "O" was great, patient, thorough and very professional, unlike Preferred Homes Services and Hanahan Plumbing. We would not hesitate to use and/or recommend them again.

My comfort specialist was Jeremy Miller, he was wonderful. He was already off work for night but came back out to meet with me. He was very thorough, made sure I understood everything and always had my best interest at heart. He came out Friday evening and my AC unit will be replaced Monday morning. I was thinking it would be longer. They have excellent guarantees.

Worst hearing and air company it there. They were the contractor installing HVAC in my new home. Right before my year warranty I needed a recharge which was strange. They charged it but never checked anything and sure enough the next year and a half it maintained, long enough to get me outside my warranty. The rep has the nerve to want to charge me for a while new unit 3 years into a new home. Got a competitor instead, found leak haven't had an issue since.

Anthony was very polite and pleasant to work with! It was 116 degrees in my attic but he went right to work with a wonderful attitude! Then he was still just as happy when he had to crawl ubder the house. He cleared all of the units' alarms and answered all of my questions. He was diligent about wearing the paper shoe protectors, too. Anthony made sure to address all of my concerns, and they were all covered in his service write up. Great job!

Would give “0” stars if that was an option! Just got off the phone with ARS customer service person, who informed me that for the second day in a row they are cancelling my emergency appointment to repair the blocked drains in my home. Originally called two days ago, was told no one could come that day, it would have to be between 12:00-5:00 the following day (yesterday). Then yesterday at 9:30 am I received a voicemail telling me it was necessary to cancel the appointment and reschedule for next week! WHAT? THIS IS AN EMERGENCY! I told the gentleman that was not acceptable and if someone did not come, I would find another company. He put me on hold, came back and said a service person would come first thing in the morning (today, Saturday), at approximately 9:00 am. At 9:00 ARS called to tell me they were short-handed and would not be coming today, they would reschedule me for next week! Now I am sitting here with steam coming out of my ears. I have used ARS many times in the past, so it’s not as if I don’t have an established customer record, but will never use them or recommend them to anyone again. Obviously, they are over-extended and cannot be depended upon in an emergency, which they claim to be experts at.

Worst company ever to schedule any follow up. After the purchase forget the rest. They book appts for Quality Control to check the AC and then don't show up when a tenant is home waiting on a Saturday. Then the next person I spoke to says: "We don't work Saturdays I don't know why you were able to schedule that..". Set up another appt. after speaking with a Mgr. she said "yes we do work on Saturday, I don't know why they told you we didn't". ??? OK SO WHY DIDN'T THEY SHOW UP??? SOMEONE WAITED 3 HOURS! SCHEDULED NEW APPT! for today 6/2/18 they said we'll call the day before. They did not. Someone did call while I was in the shower for 20 min. the day they were to arrive at the house. The tenant again was sitting waiting for them with no time frame and they said to me "well you didn't call back in 10 minutes so we are supposed to move on to the next person". I told her someone was waiting home all day and they needed to go, she said we'll reschedule you"???? 10 Minutes to CALL BACK??? CALL THE NIGHT BEFORE!!!! The company is run by idiots. They should not be calling anyone at all, it's already confirmed two weeks ago. Will never use Home Depot again as they contract to ARS who does not know what they are doing or care about customer service and wasting other people's time once they get paid. So if you have an AC install-don't count on Quality Control showing up behind them when they are supposed to.

Bought a new system from them 3.5 years ago. AC was not blowing cold air starting on Good Friday. ARS had a technician here before noon on Saturday. After his diagnosis he told me ARS did not consider me a customer unless I purchased a service agreement. I informed him they better consider me a customer I purchased a $6000 system from them! The technician told me the cost for repairs would total $1200. The technician told me he spoke with his manager and they agreed to fix the system for $600. Since it was Easter weekend he told me he would email me an estimate and I could call Monday to schedule the repairs. I called ARS Monday and asked to speak with the service manager and also informed them I never received an estimate. No return phone call. In the meantime my neighbor who owns a HVAC company reset our unit in 5 minutes with a screwdriver. No costly repairs were needed. ARS customer service did call me on Tuesday. I voiced my complaints in a calm professional manner. Their solution was to do the un-needed $1200 repair for my $100 service call fee. I declined. Our AC has been running perfectly since. I do not trust them and will never call them again. This is the second bad experience I’ve had with them

These guys are sleaze bag criminals. Do not let them take a second of your time. I installed a smart thermostat myself and misplaced one wire which caused the AC not to cut on. These guys forcefully tried to sell me $15,000 worth of new AC, stating my components were old and bad. Not only that, but the salesman called my phone 3 times a day until I blocked his number. He did not take no for an answer. I ended up getting a second opinion the day after these criminals looked at my AC, and for about $50 he was able to troubleshoot my issue. Had my system back to running good as new. Too bad I can't give ARS zero stars, what a scam.

The gentleman with ARS that came out to look at our air conditioning unit that wasn’t working quoted us $8000-10,000 to replace our unit or $4000-5000 to repair with no guarantee that it would work and no warranty. The very next day we had someone else come out and fix our unit for $849. It is working perfectly now. I am appalled that someone would blatantly lie to us. Cool Care Hearing and Air is who we used. They showed up in a couple hours after calling, they were honest and they got the job done in the same day. Highly recommend Cool Care and will never use ARS rescue rooter ever again.

Heck they forgot to set up the first inspection and didn't do the rebates. It's been 5 months since we had system installed and inspection still has not passed and no rebates. Just wanted to say Preston W. is a capable and helpful Technician with ARS who was the first out of six technicians sent out in three years to discover that our AC unit we bought was set up incorrectly in the past. I have call them for work on my AC . First technician when for easy money,replacing capacitor Unit was under warranty and I have to pay 180 $ just for labor . And like usually there where different problem Freon leak . The technician explain that this leak can not be fix and I need new unit and to replace it will cost me 675 $ and I have to pay upfront to be able to order new unit . End up that after he got my money He fix leak,refill the unit and left with 855$. I think they try to get as much money from you as they can and doing the job that is not necessary and charge me for new unit replacement by telling me my unit under warranty is not fixable . Try to use different company if you want not to be rob . They claim satisfaction guaranty or your money back ,but this is not true at all . After I call them with my complain they tell me to go pound the send. Do not recommend to any one to get in this company and expect good and fair service . You will be rob of your money.

I have had this new AC unit for 21 days on day 2 they had to do some duct work to quite the noise down in the house I questioned the installer about the moisture on the unit he said it was normal. On day 7 my credit card was charge for the unit .BY HOME DEPOT not ARS not good. One day 14 called about to much moisture on unit . Doug and another service Tech came out and said I needed a bigger return in my house. ARS called and said someone would be out Wed 8/6/19 between 12-5 NO SHOW- NO CALL. I called Thursday 8-7.. talked to Herb Ward he would get to the bottom of it and call me back. No call back that bday I called 8-9 at 5:25 pm. Was told by Victoria that no one was there to help me. I called on Saturday 8-10 Told by Jada the same thing no one there to help me and she could not set up an appointment..I asked about the 24 HOUR SERVICE GUARANTEE She said sorry she could not help me..

I remain consistently disappointed by ARS. Mungo Homes uses them as the vendor for heat and AC. Had AC issues on the first week in the home. Tried to call for an emergency appointment-said they were coming that night-never showed up. AC acting up again during-but now the nights are even hotter. Called after hours-said they don't show us in their system as a client under warranty. Sent 3 emails-STILL had to call ourselves on Monday for an appointment. It's 90 degrees out-the rep claimed we would be under 'emergency service' status-keep in mind we'd been relaying our issue since Friday evening. Still on waiting on them to show-first spoke to a rep on Monday 6.4.18 at 10am-it's now after 4pm and they still can't tell us when anyone will be out to look at the unit. Is this their emergency service-full of no shows and waiting for hours and hours with no rep in sight? Horrible service. definitely will not use them once the warranty is over. UPDATE: 9.4.18-the technician eventually “fixed” the AC after 3 visits to the house. Went to grab some stuff from the attic area that also serves as a storage area-the door & walls have mildew on it! H came and did MORE DAMAGE. We set an appointment for them to come out and fix it-THEY CANCELLED THE APPOINTMENT 3 MIN BEFORE IT WAS TO TAKE PLACE. Never mind how we had to switch up our work schedule. Horrible horrible

We have used ARS quite frequently. We became loyal customers by paying a yearly maintenance fee. Funny this is the second time we had our semi annual checkup, gave them a check in advance for a part and service, no phone call back for when the part came in. We were out of air conditioner this summer for a week because they forgot to order the part, now we paid them $258 for a part, before it goes bad, we were told. That was Oct, they were called two weeks ago asking where the part was and we were told they would look into it. Where are they? Guess we will call WCBD to look into it.

They showed up the next day to install the system and I was to meet them at 3:30 to make sure it worked and install the new thermostat. I had to leave work early. When I got home nobody was there. Thermostat and filters were in the garage. Door to attic was apart and not put back. Called and called and no return calls. Forward 2 weeks to yesterday. Finally got someone who asked me to check the system. It didn’t work so we arranged to meet someone who’d get it up and running the next day again at 3:30. Left work early. Nobody there. Called and was told mornings are better. Someone would be out between 6 and 7 instead of 3:30 like planned. Well it 8:30 and nobody has shown up OR had the courtesy to even call. Still without air and nobody at the company seems to care or respond or even show up on time let alone call and say they can’t make it. I’m beginning to think I got royally ripped off. I may have had an old air conditioning unit before but at least it worked and I had something. Now I have nothing.

I purchased an AC "tune up" from the kiosk in Home Depot, delivered by ARS\Rescue Rooter and couldn't have regretted it more. The person that showed up proceeded to rip the mastic and tape away from the neck both of my air handlers after doubling the price and didn't replace the tape letting cold air leak into my attic and closet. When they "checked" the compressors outside, they let a ton of freon just escape while they dropped the tool to check the pressure and when asked if they are going to replace the freon, he said its not included with a "tune up" which I asked what was included and he said a system check and that's it. Imagine if you asked for a tune up by your car mechanic, he inspects the car, breaks the car and doubles the price. The "tune up" which came back that both systems are fine, apparently means that they are going damage your system in hopes that you will pay them to fix it. The first time I used the downstairs AC after the tune up, the compressor wouldn't crank, I wonder if it being low on freon could be the problem? No response from home depot, ARS or the person they told me to call (his voice mail is full, I can imagine why). I am now on the hook to have my previously working AC units fixed and after calling 3 times decided to leave this review. What a scam.

Bought a toilet from Home Depot, including installation. ARS was the contractor. Plumber was super duper (David) and did a great job. Very professional! David gets 5 stars. ARS gets minus 5 stars. Why the low score? ARS ripped me off. As it turns out, the water supply valve needed to be replaced. The job took 5 - 10 minutes to do: parts were a valve and braided wire hose. ARS fee for this add-on work was $135! Note:. ARS Corporate contacted me about this review. They asked me what would make happy...I said a refund of $90 would do it. They sent me a check right away. So, ARS Corporate gets 5 stars...the local franchise still gets one star.

(TL;DR, I waited for 6 hours, when given a 5 hour window, for a service call that took 10 minutes, due to the utter lack of ability within the dispatch / main office to schedule, and coordinate the efforts of their employees, in order to get the job done. 0/10 recommend this company. In light, the technician did a wonderful job assisting me, and answering all my questions when they finally showed up (to which I do not place the blame on the technician, but the managerial staff).) To open, I would like to remark that this comment about the level of quality of the technician that was allocated to my service call. The respectful demeanor, experience and level of knowledge of the technician seemed more than adequate. He gave very clear, and concise answers to all of my questions. I appreciate his contribution to his company, and to customers. I would really like to focus on the customer service from their main office. Because I lack the ability to find a better term, I will continue to use terms like "dispatch" and "allocate to service call", because I feel those are most appropriate. My statement is this. The dispatch office that allocates technicians to service calls, and appointments, is probably by far the worst I have ever seen, in all of my time dealing with various companies that handle the support of household utilities. I would probably rank them with Comcast. When you give a customer a definitive 12-1700 window that the technician will answer your service call, you make that happen. You look at who you have scheduled that day, and you allocate, and reallocate technicians to various service calls as required in order to make that window. I was also informed that I would be given a courtesy call at about 45 minutes before the technician would be on their way. I called at approximately 1400, on Tuesday 12/11/2018, to check on the status of the technician dispatched to my service call. I was informed that the person allocated to my request was finishing up their current call, and that I was next in line, and they should be here shortly. I hung up, satisfied with my answer, because I did not believe it to be unreasonable. I called again at 1617. I was given the same answer as the first time I called. I hung up again, a little frustrated, but again, understanding that some calls, for some situations can run long, considering the unknown reality of each service call going into it. The initial symptom or problem identified, could always be the result of another underlying issue, and would not be discovered until well into the investigation process. I called AGAIN, at 1730, now 30 minutes passed my service window. Met with the SAME answer. Before I allowed myself to speak in an unprofessional manner, I cut the conversation very short. I had to take a half of a day off of work, and not be available to pick my daughter up from school. I find it completely unreasonable that expectations of timely service are so low, that the people in charge of dispatch, and ultimately responsible for allocating technicians to service calls, cannot get their own boards straight. I get a call back from the main office, telling me that my name had been allocated to 2 technicians. (One would think that you would get service, in half the time, but no). Due to the confusion, this caused a significant delay in response to my service call (which was very simple I might add) I find it completely baffling that a company that day in and day out, schedules, and re-schedules their personnel to various service calls, cannot figure out a simple resource allocation program. This was my first time dealing with ARS / Rescue Rooter in Charleston, and I do believe it will be my last. If I cannot count on the timeliness of scheduled service calls, how else are they going to let the customer down?

He diagnosed the problem and went promptly to work, and in a little while he had the sink draining like new. Justin was very knowledgeable and professional in his duties. This technician came on Friday after 7 PM and I showed him my thermostat he was already abrasive shoeing me away telling me he knows what he’s doing when I was trying to explain or show him that it wasn’t cooling. I explained to him that I was able to get the fan motor restarted with a long tool so I felt it was the capacitor because then the fan motor would come on and stay on when I manually started it. he went out and inspected the unit came back in and told me it would be almost $1300 to get the unit started needing a new capacitor a new contactOr and a new fan motor which I explained to him was replaced last year I got a second opinion from Berkeley heating and air and it was just a capacitor he had my unit up and running in 30 minutes. I have called twice to speak with a manager and no one will return my phone call. Please be aware of this company and do your research and get a second opinion if needed we as a consumer need to protect our self and I am posting this to help protect others who may be out of thousands of dollars just because we are told certain things need to be fixed To be fixed or replaced when it really isn’t warranted I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau

Horrible experience regarding appointments/scheduling with this company in Charleston SC. So bad that it's making me write the first review I've felt compelled to write. I lined up 3 separate appointments with them to inspect a residential main sewer line with their camera. On each/all 3 occasions, I was given a 5 HOUR WINDOW where I had to stay and wait at the property for them to show up. All three appointments were missed completely, on all three appointments I called them and was told a inspector would be there shortly. . . .making me wait even longer for someone who never came. This company waisted around 20 hours of my time. I had to take time off work to wait for them to show up at the appointment on 3 different occasions. . .no one ever showed up. I can't speak to their quality of work, b/c I never actually saw anyone show up and do anything. I attempted to have one of their plumbers come out to give an estimate on replacing a few fixtures as well as an issue with my hot water. After receiving a call the day of the appointment that I was on the schedule from between 12 and 5, I heard nothing until I called them at 5:15 and was informed they would not be able to make it to me and asked if the following morning would be ok. I then explained that due to my combined class and work schedule I was only available the one day of the week their service representative said they would talk with their supervisor and call me back. I never received a call, but instead called them back a few days later in order to reschedule as I understand mistakes happen. Once again I received confirmation I was on the schedule and no one arrived, I called slightly before 5 and was told again no one would be able to arrive. I explained how this was the second time this has happened and was then informed they would have one of their plumbers come as soon as they finished their last job. I finally got a call at 8:30 at night from a worker stating that he was in Walterboro and that he assumed the order to come for my estimate was a mistake. If it's this difficult to have someone come for an estimate I don't want to imagine trying to have actual work done, and will no longer attempt to have any service done with this company.

I discovered a leak from my washing machine and since ARS Rescue Rooter had replaced the piping two years ago, we naturally called them again. I made an appointment for 12:00 to 5:00 window. They called at 5:00 to say he was on his way. It was 6:30 & we were sitting down to eat when David came. He was there for an hour and said everything should be fine. Someone was supposed to call me the next day but no one did. When I did laundry the next time, the leak was worse. This time I scheduled for morning. The problem has been fixed.

Loyal customer for 17 years. Had an AC issue and called for appointment. Confirmed appointment for following day between 8 and noon. At 230 with no showing and no calls I called the customer service line where at 1st I was told I didnt have an appointment scheduled. When I offered a recording of the conversation to prove my call and the details my appointment was "found". I was then told that there were 6 calls still in front of mine. Keep in mind my appointment window has passed 2 1/2 hours ago. I asked and begged for the customer service dept to reach out to the technician to find out a ballpark idea on the ETA. I was told no that wasn't possible. I asked why the customer service department couldn't have reached out by phone to touch base and advise of the delay. No response. Terrible customer service and horrible response time to appointments. We will definitely be looking to a different provider for our needs in the future.

The most garbage customer service I have had in quite a while. I received better service at Dick's Last Resort (the restaurant where they curse at you and shame you constantly). I will never use them again, and I recommend you take your business elsewhere.

We had to have our water heater replaced due to our HOA mandating it. After finding out how much the HOA "preferred" plumbing company wanted to charge, I called ARS for a quote. They came in well under the "preferred" vendor and did it with a smile. Jamell came and did the quote on one day, then I scheduled him for the next week due to work commitments. He was the nicest and kindest young man! He was so thorough and cleaned well after the installation. I will definitely call and request him again. Very nice, friendly, and knew what he was doing!

After 14 days with out AC we had ARS come out and install a new unit. When I came home from work they were still here, DJ and Kyle ensured me I would have AC before they left. With the task they had ahead of them they continually worked with no breaks. They ended up leaving late but as they promised I had AC. They were two great guys and hard workers, not only did I receive great service when they left I gained two new friends.

Caleb was knowledgeable and efficient. He fixed our two toilets and identified issues that needed to be resolved other than the basic running toilet for which I originally hired ARS. Caleb walked me through all of the pricing and showed me all of the work that needed to be done and explained why it needed to be done. He gave me a very fair price and made the repairs. He did quality work and left my home in much better shape than when he arrived. I am looking forward to lower water bills paying for the repairs over the course of the next few months.

The only reason they get a 1 star is to allow me to write a review. Worst company I’ve ever had to deal with. Horrible customer service, and scheduling is a joke… ARS installed Hvac system in my new home built by Catalyst Builders.(Catalyst Builders was a nightmare as well) Started having problems with the system the first month., and have been dealing with this ever since. Every-time Tech came out even for routine maintenance, system could be working fine, but they would find a problem or made a problem. Only Techs that seemed to have any knowledge was Roberto and Chuck , which kept me up and running for a few months. it’s all about the $$$$ with them…but they won’t be getting another dime from me. Now, I’m with a company that I trust and cares about their customers and most importantly tells me the truth!!

We signed up through Home Depot for ARS to come replace or entire system inside and out with new duct work and all. Cost us $7,000.00. Since that time (3.5 years ago) they've been back out at least ten times to fix things we found and I just got another list for about 1k worth of work they need to fix again! Do NOT use them! Horrible customer service and workmanship. The use below mediocre materials and units. Use a local mom and pop company.

Being Senior Citizens he made many good points which helped us make our decision. We would like to also thank Doug the technician who guided us as well. Check the Corporate site also, they are out of Memphis, TN. Below is a VERY condensed version of events. My experience is from about 3 years ago, but left a lasting impression on me(NOT a good one). They installed a new "system" in my home, after which we moved away(kept home) for work. Upon returning 4 months later now October it was comfortable. Took my wife to first Chemo treatment on a Thursday, now in November, following day it got cold. Upon switching the system to heat, NOTHING. Called them, they came out next day, Saturday, performed a quick remedy. At this point, I asked what the issue was, the serviceman points to the wiring/PC Board in master closet for my unit he points to 2 wires now protruding and proceeds to tell me that I need to switch between them for heat and cold. Obviously...that isn't right, so I call ARS back on Monday, they send another person out a few days later(2 as I can best recall). This technician spends 8 hours doing his thing, but cannot get it to switch between the 2 settings properly. He explains they sent the wrong part. I call the office, they ask me what system I have. This begins to disgust me, why would I know what system THEY installed. Eventually, they find their paperwork and explain to me that my existing PC Board isn't compatible with the system they installed. OUT OF THE KINDNESS of their own hearts they aren't going to charge me for the required one. The above are 2 instances that included 3 visits, of which required no less than 4 hours of my life each time. Those were ONLY the first 3 visits, ultimately they made 14 visits. These 14 visits consisted of several times I was told the system was overcharged, next technician would say undercharged. Hope you see where I am going. At one point the person said "AWWW, here is your problem, the wiring to outside unit wasn't properly connected." This particular epiphany came around visit 7 or 8, as you can tell I did not expect to need a notebook to keep track. I finally called the Corporate office(Memphis), they assured me we would not require further assistance. WELLL, that just was not the case. During our time dealing with the local place we only once encountered the same technician, dealt with at least 3 different Supervising Managers, 2 different General Managers. I would need a program to keep track of all the names and titles given to me over the process. IF you read all this and use ARS, I wish better luck than we had.

Jonathan (1726) provided excellent technical and thorough service. He provided his review data and the various results following his cleaning services. This review was extremely helpful to myself, as a homeowner who wants long-term, valued solutions. He was extremely familiar with the installed equipment configuration and permitted us to observe his work and findings for the future operations. He was very courteous and cleaned the areas utilized during his work before leaving. As a previous maintenance manager, I observed his interactions with a new employee and was very impressed with his training techniques both verbally and with demonstration. I wished I had his talent and his personal techniques for developing new talent. He knows not only the equipment he is servicing, but also employees that he is building as a Company's asset and reputation. As a result from this visit, I wish that I had a "Jonathan" when I was a Maintenance Manager. I would evaluate him as a valued employee and represents your company extremely well.

Two AC technicians from ARS did a follow up and repair call at my residence today. Tim and Kevin did an excellent job, and were very polite and professional. Kenyatta was the AC technician that responded to the EMERGENCY call placed by me about my AC problems at my residence, and he also was very professional, polite and informed us about the situation with our AC. Well done to these AC Technicians.

Would rather leave 0 stars. Made an appointment 2 days prior. That appointment was between 12-5 pm. Took off of work to ensure I could meet them. 12-5 came and went. Called at least 5 times after 4 to ask if they were still coming. After 8 pm I was told by their corporate headquarters that a tech would be here regardless “it’s on his schedule and he can’t finish the day without completing the job”. But they couldn’t tell me when he’d come or where he was and no tech ever contacted me on any of those times. It’s currently 10:30 pm and still NOONE has arrived or returned my call. They are the worst I’ve ever called. Take your chances but don’t say I didn’t warn you...
