Paul, of American Home Contractors, did a good job cleaning our gutters. When he was finished he explained what he had done and showed before and after pictures of the gutters. He reported on the roof, gutters, and the chalking around chimney. After blowing the debris out of gutters he cleaned up as best as he could but it still left work for me to clean up too.

I’m glad I called the American Home Contractors. They sent Steve to help us with 4 leaking roof vent pipes. Steve was on time, courteous and very professional. We had wind damage to our roof back in March 2018 and after researching several contractors through Yelp! and Google, we reached out to American Home Contractors in May. Tyler Griffin was extremely responsive and set up an appointment with me, within the week, to come out and look at our roof and go over what to expect from American Home Contractors. I explained to Tyler that we were going through our insurance company, but that the insurance company only wanted to pay for the roofing on the front of the house, not the back. However, the shingles on our roof were from 14 years ago and had been recalled and were no longer being manufactured. Therefore, an exact match would be impossible without re-shingling the entire roof. Our insurance company balked at our request to have the entire roof redone, however, Tyler was extremely instrumental in submitting documents, forms and proof to our insurance company as to why we needed the entire roof replaced. Tyler understands how to work with insurance companies to ensure the homeowner gets fair coverage. After receiving Tyler's petitions for having the entire roof done, our insurance company agreed and paid for us to have an entirely new roof installed - front and back. The day before installation of the new roof, the new shingles were delivered onto our roof in less than an hour - the job was done quickly and carefully. On the morning of the roofing replacement, a crew of between 10 -15 roofers arrived on time and got started on the transformation of our roof. The crew was very polite and considerate of our property - they did an excellent job and we couldn't have been more pleased with how the process went. The job was mostly completed in one day, with the crew returning the following morning, for a couple of hours, to ensure everything had been cleaned up around our property and all roofing components had been installed. Our new roof looks amazing and I am so glad that we chose American Home Contractors.

Tech was Rob Howard and he did a great job with my roof tune up. He went above and beyond previous contractor that replaced ridge vent shingles. Rob glued and nailed the ridge vent shingles to prevent them from blowing off during the next wind storm. I would highly recommend Rob to anyone and will request him if I have any other roof issues.

Good to get an honest opinion and inspection. I hired this company twice in the past 2 years to do their advertised roof tune-up (paid $149), and both times had a positive experience. The most recent, with their roof technician Paul, involved what appeared to be a thorough inspection of roof, gutters, attic, and soffits. He arrived as scheduled, was friendly, and informative. Typical maintenance was conducted (re-nailed some flashing, reapplied caulking where needed, etc), and he provided good pictures of any issues or fixes that was done. Worth the fee charged for this tune-up if you care at all about your roof.

Daniel from American Home Contractors came to give us an estimate on skylights (June 2019). He was very informative and professional. We informed him the our main concern is leakage of skylights. Since our roof was not slanted enough, he advised us against it, instead of just selling us on it. He also checked our chimney while he was on the roof and informed us on the condition. If we ever get our chimney done we will definitely call them.

My appointment was at 3p.m. Rob Howard showed up at 2:15 p.m. eta. He was extremely professional. He cleaned one gutter and inspected the other gutters on my house. He said to me that the gutters don't need to be cleaned except one. However, to get my moneys worth he found holes on the roof, and the the exhaust pipe rubber cover was worn out, he installed a new piece of rubber, and sealed all the holes on my roof. This company is amazing, and I highly recommend them. The job was amazing!

After some scheduling snafus with the office, thus only 4 stars, technician Steve Barron arrived on time to do our roof tuneup. He was knowledgeable. polite and answered our questions in detail. He kept us informed of all procedures and necessary repairs. He stressed being safe and careful as he performed his work. He made no high pressure sales pitches but gave us an honest appraisal of our roof's condition and what we might expect going forward. And...he fived the leak on the pipe boot gasket! Received a promo in the mail for a $149 roof tune up. I asked ahead of time if there were any additional charges, they said no. Day of the appointment, they send one person and he isn't able to go up on the roof because of how steep it is. Said it would be double the price to have another person come help him. Understandable from a safety point of view, but there was a lack of communication about this beforehand; at no point did anyone mention the steepness could be a factor that would require a higher price or a second appointment. Ended up being a waste of my time. They should mention this when setting up the appointment and possibly have the homeowner send them a picture of the roof if it is questionably steep.

We recently worked with Daniel D. to have our roof replaced. He was very thorough doing our estimate. The quote he gave us was very fair, even with the added cost of getting part of our chimney repaired. Daniel and his crew were very professional and personable. A thunderstorm rolled in during the day as the shingles were going on the house (there's a WeatherChannel app with Real Time Rain Alerts; it's VERY accurate--might want to look into downloading that, DANIEL) and it rained into our house. The damage was minimal, but Daniel made sure whatever was damaged by the water was replaced or repaired. We are super happy customers with our roof, and we wouldn't hesitate to work with American Home Contractors again or to recommend them.

My name is Michael Shepke I worked here for approximately 4 months missed 1 day for a family emergency and had a hard time getting too my jobs at 8 am when I had over a hour drive because I have 2 kids to get off in the morning. I always finished all my appointments and had satisfied customers. When I first started I went to the owner Steve and asked him for a loan of 500 dollars to get me out of a jam he asked if I had a plan for the next month and offered to lend me $2000 to get caught up with bills from the change of employment I was surprised and greatly appreciative of the loan he said I was doing great and we would work it out when I was caught up, months went by and did not hear anything about loan till last month when I lost my company phone I was told to buy my own phone and download company apps so I could continue to work there which I did not even a week after that I was wrote up for being late to my appointments 5 minutes after getting wrote up didn’t even have time to sign it I was fired. I didn’t make a big deal about this I was upset about it but emptied my truck and went to my mailbox to get my paycheck from the week before which was gone. I was fired on Wednesday which the paycheck I was going to get was in my mailbox the Thursday before and someone took it out, I asked where my checks were that tomorrow I should have 2 of them I was told that the owner was on vacation and they had no idea so I left with no altercation but it has been weeks and I am owed 3 checks plus money for selling extra services they refuse to pay me and am getting evicted me and my family because of this I signed no paperwork saying they could hold my money I understand I owe them but this is very wrong to give me no heads up and to hold over 2000 dollars they owe me when the law states that they can’t hold pay for a loan that was given to help and employee in a hard time. They are only worried about trying to upsell people even if they don’t need it,they want you to set a customer every customer up with a freeeee estimate so they can send a salesman to you to try to get you to buy something even if it’s repairable that’s the real reason I was let go is I would try to go the extra mile to get a customer some time out of thier roof or gutters and that’s not what they want they want you to up sale every job you go too so think twice before having a tuneup done by this company they only care about themselves and selling you something you don’t need yet.

He went out of his way to assess my roof AND to adjust my TV antenna, which had become misaligned over time and needed a "tweak" to pick up the local TV channels. Replaced gutters and downspouts for both front and back of house for a very fair price. Leonard Panek tweaked the design of the previous setup to improve the system. Have to admit I originally wanted to not have those tweaks but as installation progressed I realized they made a lot of sense and went with them. Ripping out the old system and installing the new, including replacing some of the wood and a bit of siding, took less than 3 hours. Very impressive work.

We had American Home Contractors come to home to do a 'Gutter Tune-up', the technician Howard Shires was very professional & courtesy to us. He gave my roof a thorough inspection, and pointed out existing issues and areas to watch out for. He showed me pictures of a "valley" in our roof where dirt/other debris had accumulated, as well as an area adjacent the valley that was missing flashing, leaving the attic area exposed. Rather than us having to separately call out a handyman to fix those issues, he went above and beyond and took care of them himself. I chose American Home Contractors for their preparedness for the first visit, rigorous inspection, thorough inspection feedback, and honest responses to my inquiries. I liked their service in terms of their punctuality, timeliness, cleanliness, and the final look of my new roof. We moved to this current house in Summer last year and found that the skylights started leaking and squirrels lived in the attic in Winter. We spent over $5,000 on a good-hearted but does-not-know-what-I'm-doing handyman only to see worse outcomes. Every time it rained, I got paranoid thinking "where else will leak this time?" "Why is it raining so hard?" "Why does it rain so often?" After realizing the hard way that the handyman route for such an important part of home maintenance would simply not work we decided to take a professsional contractor route and were either given a great presentation but an exhuberant cost or a low cost but corners being cut until we ran into American home contractors. After our first professional contractor encounter we found that going through a GAF elite certified contractor would be wise due to the good warranty and of the several that we contacted American home contractors gave us the perfect middle ground between quality and cost. Josh, the project coordinator from American Home Contractor, came in with a precise measurement of our roof which ensures the right amount of materials to be utilized (i.e., no more, no less). He also took a look at the attic thoroughly and accurately diagnosed the problem we had. He responded in a honest and modest manner to all of my inquiries which could have been rude sometimes. We liked him, especially because of the way he itemized the work that entailed for its transparency and the way he reassured the quality of the work (e.g., warranty). So I chose American Home Contractors. Cost was definitely part of the function but the quality was more valued in the decision making. Josh was very helpful and cooperative in determining the color of the roof. He provided us photos of simulated roof with various colors and a list of roof recently done with the representative colors. The color was definitely different when simulated/seen at sight from what's presented on the brochure. I am very content with our color choice (Hickory) as it is well coordinated with the rest of the house. On the day of roof installation, the installers started from 7 am sharp (it woke me up as they started without notice) and ended at 6 pm. 2,900 ft roof replacement including 5 skylight replacement was done within a day. The installers covered the front of the house with a blue turf (only in the beginning) and diligently cleaned throughout the time. Their punctuality, timeliness and cleanliness were appreciation. Minor drawbacks included some squashed flowers and not all the installers being able to speak English.

Review updated* after seeing my review a manager reached out to address my concerns. He apologized for the previous mishaps and indicated he wanted to show me how it was supposed to be done. He walked me through the steps, took photos, cleaned my gutters again and removed the cord left by the previous tech and completed the roof tune up. He also indicated he would issue a refund for services previously purchased. I appreciated them making things right and walking me through what they did with before and after pictures. *Needed gutters cleaned and 2 different techs came out but had to reschedule because they said two people needed to do the job or they didnt have a long enough ladder. A tech was finally able to do the job and let me know I had some loose shingles and they had a 149 roof tune up special. He apologized for the previous mix up and said he could take care of it. I then signed up for roof tune up. I should have learned from my previous experience because two weeks later the same tech was no longer with the company and the new tech who came out...you guessed didnt have a long enough ladder. The second one who came noted that there were no notes about the situation and that this was a two person job. Mind you I had already called their main line to reschedule and reminded them of the ladder issue. He also noted that the previous tech left the bunjee cord dangling on the gutters. He was concerned about his safety and indicated that pay was not enough for this two person job. He called his manager Chuck to discuss. I immediately called their main line asking to speak with a manager to address the situation and they told me they couldnt reach one on a Saturday. Interesting how the tech spoke to one but I couldnt....he had to leave because he said it was a two person job and was also upset no notes were on file. He said the job would cost double if two people came out. I asked him if he could at least remove the bunjee cord left by the previous tech and he said he would but did not...this is unacceptable. Save yourself the time, money and energy AND call another company. Was hopeful when I saw the positive reviews but see they dont come through. This situation could have been handled differently.

I was able to know American Home Contractors because of Five Star Rated. We have a leak in the roof and there are plants sprouting from the gutter so we scheduled an appointment with them. Do not use this contractor under any circumstance. Contracted with them in 2017 for roof repair. They kept delaying the job, finding different excuses every time. Due to their delays, the price of the material we selected went up. A FULL YEAR passed, and they both tried to raise the price on us AND lower the quality of the materials so they could eke more profit out of the job they themselves had botched. They also tried to retract a warranty for the material that had been written plain as day in our original contract. In the end, TWO YEARS LATER, we threatened legal action and they refused to even complete the job. I can't imagine hiring a company that doesn't complete their jobs, tries to cheat the client, and is so grossly incompetent that they can't even be bothered to reply to client emails in a timely fashion. We worked with one person who left abruptly, and was then replaced by James Im.

If you truly want to know how these people have such a high rating, ask what a scrub list is....it's for all of of the customers, and there are a ton of them, that you make sure that you don't give a survey to... believe me, I was terminated with over 50 thousand dollars owed to me and will never see it. If you want QUALITY done to your home, use a contractor that employs AMERICAN workers...not illegal immigrants.Ive checked behind these workers and was highly disappointed that I had sold these American customers such substandard work. I, personally, would never use a contractor that claims to be AMERICAN, but yet uses nothing but immigrants to do the bulk of the work
