I was a 3+ year resident before leaving NH for CO and was very happy with the unit I occupied at Millport Apartments, 1001 Islington St, Portsmouth NH. I especially loved the high ceilings, huge windows, and open brickwork in the apartment interior. I also had sole access to a vast storage area within my apartment that was especially useful. I found the maintenance staff to be responsive, personable, and conscientious and would still be a resident there had I not left the area.

I've reached out several times on various residential rental properties, inquiring about availabilities. I NEVER receive a response! They should remove the inquiry function from their website if they're not going to respond to inquiries. Unprofessional!

I have worked and rented several studios at Washington Street Mils and the Newmarket Mills for over 10 years! The entire staff is professional and wonderful to work with. I highly recommend the Chinburg Properties!

Mediocre construction. I bought a new home from this builder. Used the cheapest of everything in the home. They do offer a one year warranty on their homes but nothing really went wrong in the first year. About 3 years into home ownership I have concrete in my garage floor coming off in chunks, leaking shower from the base not being supported properly, in every room there is drywall tape that is coming apart at the seams on the ceilings and you can see it running along the top of the wall where is connects to the ceiling, poor layout and lots of wasted space, my carpet has been worn and matted within the first 3 months (he used the cheapest carpeting and now needs to be replaced), did not wire in ANY overhead lights in bedrooms or living room (how hard is that to do when the ceilings and walls are opened up to add a few recessed cans and wire it to a switch, takes literally half an hour), mold in my garage concrete floor (from water coming in the garage?). I also had a full vanity in my upstairs bathroom and he took it out prior to closing and replaced it with a pedestal sink (again, cheaper for him). I got no granite countertops in my bathrooms, just laminate (for so called luxury homes). I found a ton of trash in my ducts when I went to clean the air registers (I found Mountain Dew cans, cigarettes, trash, beef jerky wrappers, all under the air registers sitting in my ductwork! I couldn't believe it! Someone probably swept all the floor trash right into the opening of the hole in the floor during construction). I was really excited to have a new construction home and this company was a huge disppointment. Next time I buy and see Chinburg I will stay away and automatically cross them off my list. Sad thing is I take great care of my home, have no pets or kids and the home has this many problems.

I've owned many homes and this one is a great one. It's tight and Chinburg was easy to deal with. I worked with Dale mostly on after sale support and he was the best.

This review pertains to the property management aspect of their business. Specifically in Dover, NH. My experience dealing with these people has been beyond frustrating and borderline absurd. Upon seeing a listing posted on a Wednesday, I ask for a showing for the next day, as the place can only be shown Thursdays and Tuesdays. I receive an email stating my showing will be at 2pm the next day, with directions on how to find their leasing office, and where to enter. The next day, upon driving an hour+ to the showing, I find my showing was never confirmed, and that my drive was for nothing. I receive no apology, only an excuse as to why the showing was not confirmed. It's odd that emails from the company stating times and directions to appointments need to then be secondarily confirmed by the same company. It's also terrible process that if a positive confirmation is required, that a negative confirmation is also not sent in the event an appointment can not be met. Frustrated with the drive and runaround, I then ask to simply be forwarded the information needed to apply for the apartment, as the images online and building floor-plans were enough to answer my questions. I am told they will be out of office until Tuesday morning at which point this will be sent to me. I am fine with this. Come Tuesday I hear nothing, but at roughly 1pm I see the listing has been reposted. I inquire again for the application information, at which point I am sent it at 2pm and warned that there is a showing at 4pm and the only way I can secure the apartment is to provide them a check before 3:30pm. This is something I could have done had they sent me the information earlier in the day, but by 2:15pm this drive would not be possible in that time. Needless to say the apartment is now leased to someone else and I have dodged a bullet. If they're this difficult to work with while Im practically begging them to take my money, I can only imagine how terrible and incompetent they would be as landlords and property managers. I have no doubt they will still attempt to charge me the $30 application fee for the apartment they leased before I was even able to write them a check.

When it came time to decide on a builder for a very complicated new ambulatory surgical center, I immediately started searching for reputable, capable and local builders. I found Chinburg Builders and was immediately impressed with their knowledge, professionalism and the breath of their portfolio. From the architectural planning stage through the finishing touches, their immediate response to concerns, questions, and changes was remarkable. During the course of the project, everyone from the people answering their phones through the owner himself had been accessible, friendly, and responsive. The finished project is beyond my expectations; Attention to detail seems to be built in to their business culture. Clearly, they had many other projects going on but I felt as if mine was the only one they were working on. Basically, if there was a six star rating, Chinburg Builders would have earned it with this project. I give them my highest recommendations and implore anyone choosing developers and builders to take a good look at Chinburg Builders.

(There's a long story here. You can get the gist by scrolling through and only reading the words in ALL CAPS). When I set out to do a major remodel of my home in Hampton, I had two primary concerns: 1) I had done my own design work (builder's nightmare) and felt (hoped) I had captured about 90% of the finished product in my plans. I knew I'd need a builder with an A+ change order process and the willingness to be flexible without gouging as we worked together to "complete the picture". 2) The home had a water leak that I hoped was not a big deal but suspected it might be. I needed a builder who I could trust to diagnose the problem and fix it without unnecessarily expanding the scope of work. I have owned many homes and dealt with several builders over the years, but this project was different. It had more moving parts than I was used to and I felt I could quickly be at the mercy of the contractor. I wanted to find someone I could trust because I knew this job might get tricky. So I really did my homework on local builders. I checked references. I looked at finished product. I drove through neighborhoods. And I interviewed the owners of the companies that made my shortlist. I selected Chinburg Builders and I'm so glad I did, because things got interesting very quickly. - the "minor" water leak turned out to be the result of a major structural flaw in the way the home was initially built, and - my 90% vision turned out to be about 30% complete once we got into the project and realized what we were dealing with. Both of these factors worked in direct opposition to timelines and budgets. Even more quickly than I'd thought possible, I was indeed at the mercy of the contractor. And this is where Chinburg Builders earned this 5 Star rating. At EVERY SINGLE OPPORTUNITY THEY WERE FAIR AND CLEAR in designing and pricing changes to our scope. At EVERY SINGLE OPPORTUNITY THEY WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND to marshal additional resources to my project so we could keep it moving and on schedule. My project manager was on speed dial. If he didn't answer my call on the first try, it never took him more than 10 minutes to get back to me. This level of responsiveness does so much to mitigate the inevitable anxiety that arises in a project like this. Most importantly, he and his team ALWAYS DID WHAT THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO and I felt like the employees and subs who worked on my home approached it as if they were working on their own. Their ATTENTION TO DETAIL impressed even a stickler like me. Eric Chinburg, the owner, was ALWAYS AVAILABLE to me by phone. There was a stretch where we talked multiple times a week. They didn't always get everything right on the first try, but the Chinburg team ALWAYS STOOD BEHIND THEIR WORK and did whatever they needed to do to make things right. I didn't always get my way. We had plenty of tense conversations as you might imagine. If there was a disagreement, Eric would support his position with knowledge and facts, but with a REASONABLE MANNER that always left me feeling like he was on my side (because I think he always was!) In the end, THEIR WORK IS BEYOND BEAUTIFUL. Every aspect ... framing, siding, decks, windows (50 of them!), sheetrock, flooring, highly detailed finish work, appliance installation ... was impeccably done. I am completely thrilled with the finished product and it is materially better than I had envisioned in my initial plans. My experience with Chinburg Builders has left me totally delighted ... highest quality product, exceptional commitment to customer satisfaction, honesty and integrity if things get tricky or hard. I highly recommend them.

Great management company! Renovated buildings and very responsive to maintenance requests and inquiries. We had one issue with our sink early on and submitted the request late in the evening and maintenance arrived the next morning. Whenever we have questions about the building Tracy is always very helpful!

Chinburg builders consistently outperformed our expectations. They are great at helping you realize your dreams into reality. Fair and honest - I would recommend them to anyone building or renovating a home.

We recently had a house built in Greenland, NH by Chinburg Builders. It was a fantastic experience getting to work with their very capable team, most specifically Karen, Lori, Roger & Dylan. Their attention to detail is spot on and they aim to please. I got status updates every week on the progress and they made nice suggestions and helped do research when it came to any extras I was looking to add to the design. I highly recommend them. I’m looking forward to enjoying my new home for years to come.

We have really enjoyed our Chinburg Builders home and the experience that we went through to have it built. Even with a potentially disruptive delay on the part of a supplier, CB worked hard to make sure that we met our closing date and were able to move in with days to spare. They have been responsive to our relatively short list of 90 day issues, and after 6 months we are settled and feeling warm and comfortable on these cold winter days and nights. The design process was collaborative, even when we threw them some curves on changes we wanted to make to the floor plan. We understood going in that this was not a fully custom home, and that we would be making decisions from available options. For our needs, the choices were clear and seemed reasonable for the market we were operating in. Since we moved in, the team from CB has been responsive when we had a problem and the design team went out of their way to support us and be here when we had an appliance delivered off schedule. We live in a quality home in a wonderful neighborhood and I feel fortunate that we made the choice to build here with Chinburg Builders.

Their prices are not comparable with the market. Spent 1/2 what they ask and go somewhere else.

Chinburg Properties has played such an important role in my family's life. My husband and I moved to New England over 4 years ago and started renting a property at one of their repurposed mills. Over the next couple of years we lived in various Chinburg mills all across the Seacoast and made some great memories. Their entire team was diligent and attentive and we developed some great relationships with their staff. As our family grew, we were fortunate enough to be in a position where we could afford a home. We never thought in a million years that we could build a home but due to our relationship with Chinburg we were able to do just that. We have lived in our brand new home for over 6 months and it has been a wonderful experience. We were first time home buyers (or builders for that matter) and the entire process was seamless. Everyone at the company did their part to help make our dreams a reality. We live in a beautiful and safe community and it is the perfect area to raise our family. Thank you Chinburg for helping us achieve something we never thought possible!
