If you want the very best in roofing on the Gulf Coast, don’t hesitate to call Strong Roofing. I have had several leaks that have not been successfully repaired by others in the past due to a faulty roof installation after Hurricane Katrina. Burt, the owner, came to my house and explained what my issues were. His knowledge and professionalism are unsurpassed. I was left a folder full of information on all the Owens Corning products. Chico and his crew are amazing, they did a complete tear off of the old shingles and had about 95% of the new shingles installed in one day. The other 5% was just touchup and clean up the following morning. On a non-related roofing issue, my cat came up in conversation with Burt. My cat has had a medical issue going on since January of this year. Burt took the time to contact his daughter in California, who is very knowledgeable in the veterinarian field, for me to speak with. He also gave me information on Veterinary Surgical Specialists just in case I have to go that route in the future. Burt did not have to this, it just shows what type of person he is. Burt, thanks again for this information!!! Back to roofing…. I had an excellent experience and would recommend their service for any roofing needs. My roof was replaced after Hurricane Katrina, but the new roof had a string of leakage problems. Two roofing contractors and an insurance adjuster looked at the roof, and were unable to see find the problem. Later, when I was trying to sell the house while I was out-of-state, the roof developed yet another issue. The insurance adjuster for this claim said Strong Roofs did good work, so I went with them. Strong Roofs quickly looked at the roof, gave me an estimate, and replaced it. The new owner of the house says he is happy with the result. It is difficult to find a reputable roofing contractor in Mississippi, especially if you are not in the state. Strong Roofs was a good find.

We had a leak in our roof that we've tried repairing over the years with other companies and when some bad rain came through a few weeks ago the leak reopened and we had some water in our house. Hi if you are looking for a roofer that ONLY does his job with perfection and will use the absolute best material out on the market today!! Then don't look any further . I'm a perfectionist but Mr.Burt that owns the company and his crew are straight 10s across the board!! Like I said the material Mr.Burt gets through Owens Corning is double the quality you get at Home Depot because he is certified GAF w Owens Corning and certainteed so most other roofers will not be able to get this quality of materials in the first place. So they just did my roof yesterday. And 30squares had tore off in an 1 1/2 at the most and had it all back in in 1 day and the cleanup you can't even tell they were here!! I'm beyond thrilled and impressed with Mr.Burt and his entire crew. They stopped for lunch break and that was the only time they had a break. They worked the whole time!! And my roof looks awesome!! Thank you Mr. Burt and your crew for being honest hard workers!!! Oh and 1 more thing the warranty is 15 Yrs labout and material. And The shingles have a 50 yr warranty and can handle winds up to 130 mph!!

I don't know why my previous review didn't post, so I'll just put what I posted on Angie's List here: Strong Roofing did the following for my 25 square roof: - Removed existing roofing material and sheathing, and replaced it with new 15/32" plywood sheathing to meet code and retrofit requirements using a requested 4" o.c. nail pattern. - Installed Owens Corning Weathermat water barrier across the roof per retrofit requirements. - Installed Owens Corning Deck Defense as a bond break across the roof per retrofit requirements. - Installed brand new drip edge. - Installed 25 squares of Duration Shingles per code and extra retrofit requirements requested to include high wind nail pattern and extra adhesive considerations at the eave and rake. - Cleaned the job site and removed all debris in the area. - Pulled permit and met with inspection both for nail pattern and end result. Burt and his crew have been incredible. Burt goes above and beyond any contractor I have ever met. He was always prompt to his appointments with me, patient with my questions and retrofit requirements, and consistently able to answer any questions I had. He was present for the full tear down and installation, vigilant over the quality of the materials and the work. His crew worked hard the entire day, even while waiting for inspection, they spent that time cleaning up or readying the next phase of the install. His crew was especially friendly and courteous, and witnessing the work they did, I'll go ahead and include professional and skilled. Burt worked with me from the moment he returned my email request for a roof inspection, to the insurance claim adjusters visit, to the end product. I had several visits with him in the months I took to finally nail down my extra requirements included for the retrofit. Most of these were in person. I never had an issue getting ahold of Burt or getting him to listen to and address my concerns. Throughout the process he illustrated for me his professionalism and knowledge of roofing. He was the only roofer I got a bid from that not only knew what the Coastal Retrofit grant program was, but understood the requirements. He was very accommodating to my schedule. The actual job took a total of about 17 hours over 2 days, mainly because of the rain and the new sheathing requirements. I know that had I needed only new underlayment and shingles, they could have easily finished in a day. Now I know that I am in the best condition I can be for the Retrofit inspection process. I have no compunctions with recommending Strong Roofing to anyone for roof repairs or replacement. His A+ BBB rating and manufacturer's certification are well deserved.

I selected Strong Roofing based on their BBB status. I submitted an inquiry via web. I recieved a response from Burt Goltz the next day. Arrangements were made for a site visit and quote. Burt was very accomodating, arrived as scheduled. He provided written copies of his license and information about his products. He was courteous, respectful and informative. He provided a written detailed estimate which included pruduct and warantee information. Quote was reasonable and similar to other quotes. I selected Strong Roofing because of Burt's response. Installation was scheduled, job was started on time, completed as planned with no issues. Crew was excellent. I recommend Strong Roofing unconditionally.

We just had a new roof done in August 2014 by Strong Roofing and we feel that they did an excellent job. We had other estimates in the area and chose this company. A Teak Owens Corning with Deck Defense underlayment was done. The 6 nail process was done so the shingles can withstand a 130 mph hurricane wind. This is the only company in Mississippi that can offer the manufactures' warranty with 50 years on the shingles and 15 year for wind. The owner Mr. Golz, coordinates the entire project and Chico supervises all the workers on site. Both are very professional and easy to work with. The workers all are respectful and hard workers. This company is completely insured, bonded, and they follow all the code regulations required in the area. All safety regulations are followed. Our roof was very steep with pitches at 15/12 and 9/12. We even wanted the drip edge to match our gutters so Mr. Goltz had the drip edge customized to match perfectly Our code officer came for several visits to inspect. Mr. Goltz also meets with the code officer prior to implementing the project and obtains any work permits required. The job only took two days since they used 10 men for the job. They came on the third day to cleanup which took only a few hours. When the work was complete, it looked like no one was there since the yard was completely and meticulously cleaned and there were no nails or debris remaining. We did not have to do any preparation for the work either as they covered and protected all our outdoor furniture, AC unit, grill etc. Mr. Goltz also does a follow up inspection around two weeks later to check on the roof. The roof is beautiful and made our home look better.

My roof needed replaced as part of an insurance claim, so I didnt have the money upfront to pay. Mr Burt was nice enough to explain the insurance check process to me and agreed to wait for the check. So I got a new roof without having to take out a giant loan then get reimbursed. If you don't have the cash up front and are dealing with insurance/mortgage companies he understands and will work with you. They completed my roof in one day, showed up on time, and cleaned up after themselves. During the process I also got photo and text updates. Far superior compared to everyone else. We had a leak in our roof. Another roofing company "tried" to repair it, but only made it worse. Contacted Strong Roofing. They came out on time and inspected our roof. After deciding to put on a new roof, Burt came over and talked with us about every little detail that would go into putting on the new roof. He even drove us around our neighborhood to show us other roofs they put in. They came to do the roof at exactly the time and day they said they would, ate lunch at the exact time they said they would, returned from lunch at the exact time they said they would. The point is they are extremely punctual and we ended up with one hell of a good looking roof! No more leaking!! They gave us pictures of the hole we had in our roof and pictures of them replacing the roof throughout the process. They even showed us other parts of the house that could use a little repairing. We contacted Fortenberry, Jims, and a New Horizons,lower price, and others in our area who all had 1 to 2 year warranties. We selected Strong who had better products(Owens Corning) and a 4 year warranty on labor.They also gave us a list of 100+ references. They also had a 15 year wind warranty and 50 year material warranty! They cost more, but after the job was done in only 1 day with great results, we knew we paid more but got a better product and service from Burt. Thank you Chico and Burt for a great job!!

We are extremely satisfied with the job that was done by Strong Roofing. When we decided that it was time for a new roof, we started researching roofers in the local area. Only one was came up in multiple websites as the best and that was Strong Roofing. So we called Strong Roofing as well as another roofing company, a local construction company and a “weekend warrior” roofer. When the estimates were complete and given to us we had to make a choice. The bids were all within $350 of each other with the exception of the Strong Roofing bid, it was almost $1000 more than the lowest bid. 2 of the contractors wanted to use GAF shingles one wanted to use Atlas, and Strong Roofing was going to use Owens Corning Trudefinition duration shingles. The only company that we were truly impressed by was Strong Roofing. Burt answered several questions, thru phone calls and emails, he even took the time to come over and sit down with us, answer questions, explain why his bid was more and go over the differences in shingle types and other roofing components that he used. No one else was willing to do this. After doing our in-depth research we decided to go with Strong Roofing. We looked at the quality of shingles as well as the other roofing components used, the professionalism of the companies, ratings on Home Advisor, Angie’s List, BBB, internet reviews, certifications of each company, and finally the warranty that would be provided by each company. After we added all this up we decided on Strong Roofing and it was not even close. When the day came to install our roof, Burt and his crew arrived precisely at the time specified, they had the old roof stripped off in about 3 hours. The installation of the new roof started and I was astonished at the precision that is was installed with. Every man knew what his job was and carried it out to perfection. Absolutely amazing. The entire process to strip and install the new roof took about 6 hours. Several of our neighbors even commented on how fast and precise the installation was. Now that the roof has been on for a while and has settled in, and the thermal adhesive has taken hold, our new roof looks stunning. A couple of months after the job was complete, I walked the roof and found a couple of things that I had questions about. ½ inch of sure nail strip exposed on one shingle and a few shingles not lying flat, I called Burt and he has someone over to my house in 2 days to take a look at and correct the problem. After all was said and done we are extremely pleased with our new roof. The roof comes with a 50 year non-prorated warranty because it was installed by a certified installer. We look at it as we will spend less money in the long run because of the quality of materials, quality of workmanship, and the warranty. The attention and the customer service provided by Burt and his staff was “through the roof”. I would highly recommend anyone who needs a new roof in the Gulf Coast area to contact Strong Roofing.

I talked with Randy from Strong Roofing. I had seen the crew work on my neighbors house and recognized that they were a knowledgeable and hard working team. When Randy came out we discussed my leak problems and the lack of quality in my roof (done following Katrina by Hattiesburg company using out of state help). we agreed that a new roof was in order. It took a few weeks to arrange as we were going out of town and they have only one crew. When they did arrive they did a fantastic job. I grew up in construction and know good work when I see it. They had to replace the outer perimeter of plywood on my roof as it had rotted from the previous poor job. They managed to complete the roof in one day with a small amount of cleanup the following day. Chico and his crew are true professionals and know their job. His work on the Chimney flashing was beautiful. They even painted the vent stacks to match the roof color. The price was reasonable particularly since I needed 16 new sheets of plywood.

I spoke with Burt initially who told me to expect a call from Mike. Mike called and scheduled an inspection and estimate. Mike reminded me of my brother Jerry, he always told me like it was and always had my 6. I agreed with their bid and was put on schedule. The following week, he called to get okay to get started the next day and that's exactly what they did. He and his crew removed old roofing down to plywood sheeting, replaced bad pieces of sheeting, removed wind turbines and installed 35 squares of GAF roofing system, and cleaned up area in one day in 100+ F heat index day. Burt was the first contractor to actually give me a quote for my roof. He actually gave a great presentation and was very professional. The materials that he had were top notch. (I'm a civil engineer myself so I know a little about construction). He also gave me the price that day. A few days later, he called to see if I made a decision on the quote he'd given me. I told him that I was waiting on some other quotes and that his quote was a little pricey considering that I'm looking to sell my house within the next couple of years. (I'm military). The conversation ended on a good note but Mr. Burt did not hang up the phone. That's when I overheard him angrily saying "ain't no n*gger gonna be able to beat my price". This really caught me by surprise because he seemed like such a professional and he bragged that his HISPANIC crew had been with him for a long time. I feel sorry for his crew. A contractor like this will never get a penny of my money.

Love, love, love Strong Roofing. Burt Goltz came to my rescue a little over 2 yrs ago when we had a leak in our roof. He not only went out of his way to make it to the property to investigate, but he did so in record time. He took the job on, despite us having a “flagged” problem roof, and I had a fair estimate quickly, and a new beautiful roof as soon as weather allowed. The crew was professional, courteous, and incredibly fast. The entire roof was done in a day, even though the crew addressed additional problem areas (complimentarily) and added plywood that the original installer had left out. The work area was left clean. Today (and although my warranty has expired), Burt took care of resealing the furnace cap that had blown off due to the high winds of late, and resealed a couple of areas just because he “was already on the roof.” What a comfort it is to work with a conscientious contractor with an intact moral compass. And now I sigh a sigh of huge relief. Thank you, Burt Goltz and Strong Roofing.

Owner Burt Goltz was very professional. He made an onsite visit and gave a written estimate to re-shingle my home. Besides new shingles and under-layment, the estimate included installation of new drip edge, chimney flashing, pipe boots, exhaust vent, and ridge vent, as well as removal of old roof debris. Because of their busy schedule and rain, installation was done 4 weeks after the original estimate. A debris trailer and roofing materials were delivered on schedule, just before the roofing work began. The roofing crew worked hard, in spite of the heat, and completed the work in a timely manner, within one day. They also removed any debris that fell onto the ground and rolled the yard for nails. Burt was onsite most of the day. Great work.

I had done a fair amount of research on the Internet searching for the best customer experience with roofing companies In dealing with a leaking roof In the Pass Christian area. Strong Roofing seemed to always come up at the top of lists. I decided to give them a call and judge for myself. From the very start I was very impressed with their professionalism. A representative was able to meet with me on short notice and perform a thorough inspection of my roof and offer different options. With my roof over 15 years old, I decided on replacement rather than repairs. I was offered various styles of high quality roofing materials with hurricane wind ratings. From the very beginning until the completion of the job, owner Mr. Burt Goltz was engaged and involved in the process. His team of roofers always conducted themselves in a professional manner and kept open areas as clean as possible In order not to interrupt our daily activities. The cleanup after completion of the job was also very thorough. The whole job was started and finished just as Mr. Goltz proposed. Approximately 2 weeks later he had a representative come back and re-inspect their work. The Owens Corning Roof that I chose included a valuable hurricane resistance warranty, which was very important to me. All of the paperwork that was required to register the warranty was performed by Mr. Goltz and I received it in the mail a few weeks later, just as he had promised. Of note, I Had two other roofing companies provide estimates but neither of those two seemed to provide me with the same level of comfort and confidence in moving forward with them. I am very happy that I chose Strong Roofing!
