This was our third experience with Certa Pro dating back over 10 years. We had a crew lead by Mendez for this job who did an outstanding job. I had neighbors coming over to watch them in action. They painted our exterior 2 story with a walk out. We have one peak over 35 feet straight up. They applied 17 gallons of stain and trimmed the windows in just over 6 hours--in and gone in one day. Absolutely outstanding work...

Painted my whole upstairs, this was the kitchen dining area, living room with vaulted ceilings, hallway, stairway, master bath & bathroom guest bathroom and two bed rooms. They did a fantastic job went over the paint colors with me before they started. Very organized, did a great job cleaning up. The workers were very nice and made sure to let me know that anytime they were there if I had any questions not to hesitate to ask. They moved all the furniture out for me and moved it back. The painting in every room was absolutely professional I could have not have asked for a better job. I am extremely pleased how every room looks!!!!! I would recommend this company to everyone.

This was a disaster. I was in so high hopes. The price appeared good and the owner was prompt and professional. His crew leader was very nice as well. They had to be called back to finish the job and clean up the mess they made including paint on the floor. Further they wrote on the wall the color of the wall but it did not cover. Now we have the work Orange on our wall and they won't return a call. This is awful!

James and Joe did a great job today removing wallpaper border and painting our master bedroom and bathroom. They were friendly but also professional. They arrived right on time. James and Joe took care to protect the carpet and furniture and cleaned up when the job was done. I’m very pleased with the service from CertaPro. I also spoke several times in the past few weeks with Mark and Kevin and they both wanted to be sure all my questions were answered. I would definitely recommend this company.

While CertaPro has a lot of good reviews, the thing to realize is that the company is a franchise and doesn’t actually employ own painters. So the quality of the job greatly depend on a crew you’d end up with. The estimate experience was great. And our crew were the nice people, but the results were truly amateurish. Missing coverage, uneven lines, drips, completely missed spots. To be honest we didn’t even want that crew to be fixing things as we didn’t have a confidence they could do better, on top of running out of time. We repainted a couple of rooms over a weekend ourselves, and now looking to fix the rest sometime later. Try to know the crew that would be doing the actual work...

CertaPro is a business to be avoided. After CertaPro provided me a detailed written estimate and I signed off on it, I waited for a week for the paint crew to show up. The day they were supposed to start work, I received a phone call that CertaPro was declining the job because there wasn't enough profit margin in the $5,500 we had agreed upon. The scheduler explained that the profit margin and the profit for the painters is the lifeblood of their business. I have since learned that CertaPro takes 45% of the estimate and then subcontracts out their work to local paint crews. Don't waste 45% of your budget on CertaPro. Try to find your own paint crew and negotiate with them directly.

I was all set to hire Rob's team to paint the exterior of my house only to sustain wind damage and now I have an insurance settlement to re-side the house ... but, I am looking at the interior of my house and thinking - Rob needs to do something for me to spruce up my living space.

We hired CertaPro Painters of GR to completely prep and repaint the exterior of our early 1900's house. They were very easy to work with, stayed true to the timeline we agreed on, and did a phenomenal job with both the prep and painting work. I could not be happier with how the project turned out. Our project was very large. We were repainting all of the wood siding, windows, and trim on the full exterior of our house. Not to mention that we had years of pealing paint and underlying layers of lead paint. We fully expected this project to be very difficult to schedule and a very long process, but CertaPro was able to quote the work very promptly (Mark even came to meet us on a Sunday) and our house was completely done about six weeks later. The quoting process was very easy and very transparent. Mark was very knowledgeable, professional, and was very helpful in guiding us though the best way to tackle our project. Dylan, the office manager, was very helpful in guiding us through every stage along the way and was very responsive by phone and email. The work itself started exactly when it was schedule to and was completed in a week. The crew did an excellent job with the lead abatement, prep work, and minor repairs. The painting work was excellent, and we couldn't be happier with how our house looks. The crew was very professional, friendly and worked very diligently over the span of the week to get everything done well. I cannot believe how well everything came together in such a short amount of time. I have watched neighbors spend entire summers working through having their house repainted, while our project started and finished before I had to mow my lawn again. I highly recommend CertaPro.

The entire Certa Pro team did an amazing job. Mark gave me a thorough and fair estimate in a timely manner and oversaw all aspects of the project from beginning to end. Dylan came to my home with great samples and ideas to help me choose colors for interior painting and trim. James was my contact painter throughout the project and he and Robert were professional, extremely knowledgeable, detail oriented, and overall excellent painters. James updated me every day of progress and was always available for questions. Great communication and positive energy. Because the project was fairly extensive and all interior I was not there during the project but always felt like I knew what was going on. Upon completion, everything was cleaned up and back in order. I would definitely recommend Certa Pro and will use them for any future painting projects.

Mark Williams and his team are exceptional at what they do. He communicates regularly, is prompt with service and scheduling and the quality of work and professionalism of his crew is without equal. This team understands the needs of the customer and is a pleasure to work with. I would recommend them to anyone but especially for the Hospitality industry. They completed painting an entire hotel on time and right before winter without any change orders or additional costs. They cleaned up after themselves and kept the GM informed on issues and the project. Fantastic leadership from Mark and exceptional work from his team.

We hired Certapro to paint our main level of our house before we listed it for sale. I was impressed at first with how quick they were and how their painting looked from afar. However, when I inspected their painting further, I noticed paint all over our cabinets, light switches, doors, counters and floors. They were careless and did not put drop cloths down (even when that was discussed when they quoted). They also painted one of our rooms the wrong color and blamed it on us. Because of their poor communication between the painting crew and the owner, they messed up. They were also to paint 2 coats on every wall. They skipped this is some rooms, leaving poor coverage. We scheduled for them to come back and fix their mistakes and they did not show up. When they finally showed up a different day, they did fix most of their mistakes. However, they were careless again and got paint everywhere. For their price, I would never recommend them to anyone. Hire VanDerKolk or New Look Grand Rapids. They are slightly pricier, but take care in their work.

Two things I have always told the wife, "If you want it done right you must do it yourself". and "I will paint the house there is no need to remind me every year for decades." She took it upon herself to get an estimate from CertaPro. The price was very reasonable so we proceeded with caution. Mark Williamson was great to work with and satisfied my extra wishes. When the paint crew came I was shocked how fast and efficient they were. They painted my house within a few hours and the quality was phenomenal! They were friendly, courteous and cleaned up after the job. Don't even think for a second that it's just painting.... anybody can do it. These guys are professionals! They are high priced and do the minimum amount of work possible. They offer no value - anyone can paint over old paint and do little prep work.

I had a superb experience with the entire CertaPro team. Everyone was helpful, friendly, pleasant natured, and professional. That means a lot when you host a paint team for 7 days. Carlos and Jose love painting, they are craftsmen. It was very easy to have them around because they are laid back but committed to good work. Juan, the supervisor, was not in direct painting role but he was equally helpful and great to work with. They made it look like a new house inside. My job was complicated because we had so much trim and many doors and they were meticulous with that. Jennifer gave me a color consultation that saved the day. I have entryway with stairs and hall that needed to be one seamless color but came up against different room colors. I was so stuck. She came to the house with an enormous color deck and found the perfect color. I think that it is safe to disregard any less than positive reviews that are out there, based on older jobs. There is a new owner and new and experienced painters. I am so enthusiastic because my house is transformed and I got exactly what I wanted. Thanks to the team. Despite several calls, and promises broken, I have not been contacted and it has not been fixed. I am three weeks out from the end of the job and can see unfinished work. STOP!!!! And take your business elsewhere! Hired them to do the job several weeks ago, took the morning off from work to meet them at home today and nobody shows! I had to email the project manager because "she" said that she would email me the past week as to who my on site manager would be. I Never got the email. Thankful that I did, otherwise I wouldnt have known they were not showing. They wanted to push it off a day and hopefully be there. Dylan the "Project Manager" dropped the ball on this badly and she passed the buck to the franchise owner Mark. Pretty sad when you cannot face the music yourself. Anyway, 1 star is being kind. I made a call, found another painter and will be recommending him to several friends. Again, STAY AWAY from CertaPro! They are not what their television commercial says they are! Roger Young

CertaPro redid my kitchen cabinets. The cases were great, but the cabinet doors did not turn out well. The paint didn't dry as nicely as the interior surfaces, and the painters had to return several times to redo them. If they had an off-site location to repaint the doors, the result would have been better. I'd probably recommend them for interior jobs, but painting the doors in 95 degree weather and high humidity was a recipe for disaster. The owner was very friendly and empathetic when I talked to him.

Great. Rep came out and gave us a good quote. He helped us with colors. Soon after the nicest bunch of workers showed up and did a great job. They worked well together and divided up the work so did not have to work around each other. One guy even saw something we had not discussed and painted it anyway just because things would look better. No extra charge. That's service. I plan on using them again.
