Door Review Siding and door replacement The materials used by American Design and Build seem to be of high quality; the workers are very conciencious and thorough; cleanup was very good. However, pricing seems to be variable and negotiable--not what I expected from a local company that wants to be competitive and fair. The sales meeting was like buying a used car from an independent lot, even calling a "manager" or someone to OK dropping from an outrageous price to an exorbitant one. I expected the company to have high prices. After all they have a competent work force and need to pay the workers well. But this session seemed geared to determine just how much I would be willing to pay. I do not know what a fair price would be for the work I had done, but I would recommend doing some research on prices before calling this company. And be prepared to negotiate. Personally, I prefer a professional sales force that can fairly estimate the price of a job and not leave me feeling that I have probably overpaid.

I hired this company to replace 12 windows using the Vytex Potomac series which is a relatively high quality brand. The sales rep was pretty straightforward and said that this company's prices would be substantially higher than the competition, but such is the price of good quality materials and workmanship. They did an excellent job and we are satisfied with how they left the job site after departing.

American Design and Build exceeded my expectations! We ordered a new front door and the installation took longer than we had planned because of errors by the manufacturer. The owner of the company personally discussed the problem with us, and has gone out of his way to deliver and install a beautiful new door. We are thrilled with the product and would strongly recommend ADB.

I started by getting some windows and the crew was very helpful in going through the house so my wife and 3 year old son would have a warm spot since it was in late December. Afterwards I had to replace my roof and went back and the crew was once again excellent at getting the job done without any issues.

From A-Z they were professional and polite. The customer service has always been good so far, and that is rare to say these days and very hard for any company to accomplish and keep up, and the representatives are pleasant and full of information that is very useful for this kind of work. I have only used them twice and in my opinion they have a stellar record of service and material quality. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is in need of a good contractor ! I believe you get what you pay for...and i think i got the best. Time will tell but if it stays like this i will always let people know who did this excellent work. I just want to say thank you to the crew, staff and the remodeling consultant (Matt G-S) for the great job. I already let people know who they should at LEAST call for an estimate so they can make a better informed decision with a better contractor.

We met their representatives at Towson spring festival in late April 2016. After getting estimates from several other companies, we had decided to go with this company. First, their salesperson who came to our home was great work with and he didn't hesitate to work out a deal with his boss. Second, the company offers financial plans with affordable monthly payments. And they took care the financial part and set it all up for us. Third, they were very communicative via emails or phone calls with any schedule changes. Forth, the crews were friendly and polite. They not only did a great job on our roof but also cleaned up all debris. It was a hassle free throughout the entire process. I would recommend to any one who are thinking about having their roofs or other services done by this company. Thank you!

First Class Company from start to finish. I wanted to engage a local window installer with a top-grade window and professional employees. From Jessica Bradley who sold us the windows to Caesar and George who did the installation, it proved to be everything we had hoped for. Jessica proffered great idea for aesthetics and functionality. Caesar and George were perfectionists and very pleasant to have around for the day. During installation we were visited by Jeff, the project manager who insured all was going as planned and lastly we had a follow-up phone call the day after to make sure we were pleased. Had a top dollar new roof installed. We had to watch the crew like a hawk due to their workmanship. Black flashing and black caulk on white trim? Attempting to cover rotting wood with flashing. Large gaps left in flashing joints. Job completed in april and we're still picking up nails. Paid balance in full but they continue to call requesting additional payment due to their poor accounting system. Save yourself a huge hassle. Use another contractor.

We have used American Design and Build for many home projects. They installed 10 new windows and 5 outside doors (2 sliding, 1 front door, and 2 garage doors) for our house. For the windows and doors we requested a different color of trim on the outside and inside of the house and they were able to comply with our request with ease! It has always been a pleasure to work with all of their staff from sales, scheduling and install. We absolutely love their products and their lifetime warranty. They are very easy to work with if there is anything that has needed to be repaired or replaced. I will continually use them for any more home improvements needed in the future!

The workers showed up on time, put protective covers on my floor and installed my door in a very professional manner, then installed the window in about 30 minutes. They did outstanding work and cleaned up after themselves leaving my living room as clean as they found it. Very impressed. People in the neighborhood know I have a reputation for hiring good quality companies to do work on my home. Some even stopped by as work was being done on my home to ask for business cards.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND American Design & Build for home general contracting work! I contracted with AD&B for a replacement roof. I have had previous work (solar panel installation & replacement windows) completed by them as well. Expedient scheduling of my solar panel removal, roofing replacement, and solar panel re-installation. Roofing work was superb at a fair price; all excess material removed; and my 50yr roof looks awesome!!!

I didn't personally have my roof done but I saw 2 family friends both had solar panels installed and we're done very professionally and very quickly the longest part was in fact waiting on BG&E and Excel on to hook up to the utilities I will be calling myself to have a solar estimate done as well as possibly a roof replacement because of the fact that I have seen two exceptionally good craftsmanship jobs done side-by-side and was very impressed

From the beginning to the end, experience was professional and accurate with regards to my expectations the products they use are well made and compliment the rest of my home. I was so pleased with the communication from the office and their flexibility with my schedule. They showed up when they were expected, pleasant, left the site free of debris. this was not an easy job given my home is 100 years old and darn it turned out just the way I wanted it to. Will be using them for my next project and will gladly refer them to my friends and family.

Extremely professional, reliable, and efficient. They replaced our roof in a day, and my neighbors noted how quickly and efficiently their team worked. I was not home at the time, but I can tell you that everything was cleaned up when I returned home and that the roof they installed is exactly what we expected. Every interaction I've had with their team during the process was professional, timely, and reliable. They gave me a time window for their crew to arrive, and they arrived exactly when expected. I felt that they respected my time as a customer and were able to work around my schedule. Additionally, I asked questions about the installation to see if there were any issues or complications, which they were able to answer promptly and provide me several photos of the roof installation in process. I would work with them again in a heartbeat and look forward to working with their breakoff company, American Sentry Solar, for an upcoming solar installation. 5/5 stars

If we could give more than 5 stars, we would. We had been looking to convert part of our deck into a sunroom for the past several years. I heard about ADB via the radio station, WRBS. Mr. Tunney, the owner, really worked with us on a price that would work within our budget but more than that, the transparency of the design and process as well as the extremely high quality of materials used really exceeded our expectations. The foreman, Chris, was truly an expert and very detail oriented. They also listened to all of our little concerns and questions. Did I mention that they give a lifetime warranty? They used energy efficient materials that went above and beyond what was required. Our home looks amazing and the triple pane energy efficient windows and insulation keep the room cool in this hot summer. We spend so much time in here now. Once the project was finished, we even got a gift basket with a handwritten note! My colleague used them for solar panels and raved about them as well. I've recommended them to my friends. I could go on and on about how professional, wonderful, and excellent they are from beginning to end. We will absolutely use them for any upcoming projects. Can't say enough good things about them!

Our experience with this company was one of the best experiences I've had working with home improvements. I'd solicited another company to install solar, and that company tried to oversell their product; twice as many panels, too many facing north (ROI terrible). American Design and Build came to our home, spoke clearly about their design for our home. They explained all the ins and outs of typical systems which I already knew, but listened to assure me that I was dealing with an above board company. The install occurred on time and in one day. They followed through with all the paperwork to get the system online and generating power,. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

I scheduled a estimate at the spring home show for a new roof. The salesman showed up on time but when he came in and realized my wife was not staying (taking our three kids out so we could talk) he left! Company policy my wife has to be there he told me. I make decisions on the home and she really doesn't care. I told them that and told them they could call her and she would tell them she doesn't want any part of the process. It was just to get a roof estimate and possibly a price on solar. Don't tell me it's not fair to give one star based on your policy. It was a complete waste of our time like no one understands how distracting 3 littles can be when adults try to talk. I think they do this to pressure you into signing something that night and thus not having time to discuss it with your spouse at a better time like when all the kids are in bed. Possibly to avoid bad reviews because of spouses that don't talk. Well hello. Bad review.

Scheduled an appointment over the phone on a Friday for Monday at 10am. No one showed up. When I called, they said they had written my phone number incorrectly and the person they reached to confirm said they didn't make an appointment. They said they didn't ask the person they spoke to if they lived at my address and that the person was Hispanic with a heavy accent (which I am not, and the girl who took my appointment also made the phone call to confirm and should have realized there was a mistake.) They said they could reschedule me for 2pm. When the sales person showed up at 2pm, he sat out in his car for a long while, then came to my door. I invited him in but he just stayed in the foyer. Told me he had already measured (from the front seat of his car?) and that my estimate was either $8k or $9 depending on the product I choose. Before I could ask any questions, he asked for my email address, typed it into his ipad, and said he was emailing me the quotes for my review, then he started walking towards my front door????? He didn't even tell me about his products, the company, their services.... NOTHING, just the price and "I'll email the quote to you". What a horrible experience and a huge waste of my time!!!!! Oh, and I never did receive the email from him. EDITED: After my review was posted, I was contacted by Tom. He apologized for my experience, stating that it was not what the company standards are, and attempted to work with us to improve our experience with American Design and Build. He gave us a better price and explained their company and products to us over the phone. We did, however, decide to go with another contractor for our roof. We appreciated Tom's time and efforts to work with us, as such, I've increased my rating to a 3 star. I, in good conscious, could not go higher without actually experience a roof install with them.

I purchased a large picture window from American Design and Build. The salesman was courteous and not pushy. The team answered the phone every time I called. I never once was required to leave a voice mail. Today Jimmy and his helper arrived on time and as promised. They installed the window with the utmost professionalism. The window looks amazing. Jimmy' s helper made sure to show me how all the cranks operate. Jimmy showed me interior and exterior of the window before they left to ensure my satisfaction. No trash or debris left behind I highly recommend this company.

Horrific experience from start to finish. Every step of the way their crew messed up causing us more time off work to be home for new repairmen. They put a hole in our brand new roof causing a leak two stories down and didn't fix the leak damage. Misleading sales rep. Head of their sales dept argumentative, unprofessional and rude. Failed inspection. Took over 2 months to get us live. Zero customer service. Never dealt with such an unprofessional experience in home repair/reno.
