Before I get into my experience I must first explain that all week prior to the day of 4/21/18 I had been spraying coal tar from Neyra, but because I forgot they were closed I decided on the second option Sealmaster. I stop by get 100 gallons of coal tar, 35 gallons of water and 50lbs of sand....the same as I do with Neyra's coal tar no exceptions!!
I get to the driveway do my prep/ crack repair and start sealing about 11 and the temp is 50°....I'm half way done and the customer is looking over the job and comes and asks me...." It appears to look Gray" I say it's setting up and continue finishing the driveway. I go over after I'm done look and see this (pic) is what I have.....Ain't no way in hell spraying coal tar, its 50° on a day when the high temp was 60+ that I should have had this happen.
I go back buy 25gallons of concentrate no water to go back and reseal (As if it was a parking lot and I'm applying 2 coats) the driveway again I might also add that my tank was pumped dry with nothing other than residual Neyra material before I loaded. Why!!!! should I have had to go back and add 25 gallons of Cold Tar concentrate to a 100 gallons just to even the load out so the job would come out the way it's supposed to and not Gray....what does that tell you???
This is just another reason why I was always skeptical of buying from Sealmaster and I will not buy again...you don't know what you're going to get. I'm Sure they have their core everyday customers but there are 3 times more companies that don't buy from them because of problems with their sealer. Buyer beware!
The first pic was after the first coating. The second with the customer standing in the driveway is after I had added the 25 gallons and re-coated the driveway the gray still shows.
