I had a great experience with Jonathan Tyma of American Fence Company. I received quotes from AFC and one of their competitors for a six-foot tall black, ornamental steel fence. Not only did AFC quote a significantly lower price, they took the time to discuss the specifics for my quote rather than just throwing a number at me. I explained that I wanted to install it myself and I provided very detailed drawings for my fence. Jonathan invited me to stop by their shop, provided a shop drawing to use for installation, and gave me helpful hints to make the installation job go smoothly. I'm very happy with my new fence and the outstanding customer service I received from AFC. If you are in the market for a new fence, I highly recommend contacting American Fence Company and ask for Jonathan.

I wouldn't give them a star at all if possible. I'd called four times before I could finally get them to come out and give me a quote. Then, they never showed up at all. So I called them to find out if the guy was lost or something, and they told me I hadn't called them, that they hadn't made my appointment -yet when I asked about the name of the employee I had talked to and the name of the guy coming out to do the quote, both of them worked there, and the woman on the phone was very rude, very disrespectful, and even said I "didn't need to sound bitchy about it" (even though I was very calm about the situation)

DO NOT USE....It's been 4 months, they placed post in incorrect spots, ordered wrong panels, no communication, project is still not done....it's costing us more in delays than what the fence cost.

They just don’t care. I had them do a repair job on my fence; I was willing to pay more for them because I thought they would do a professional job. Instead it took longer than expected and they hit a line on my property and didn’t tell me until I had already gone to work. Their work isn’t worth their price or lack of consideration for their customers.

They will come with high estimate hoping you just accept and not provide any justification to its costs. I was able to get them to come down, placed a deposit and then we (spouse and I) decided not to do the fence in general. Contacted Tyler and they are keeping $200 of our $1800 deposit. Even though this was a short few days later, we had not been provided a specific schedule (only "like 6 weeks"), no materials had been procured, no work had been done at all by them. Ridiculous. They cash our check, a few days later we decide not to pursue and, now, hopefully I get back $1600 in the next 30days or so. Hard lesson learned. Not a business I would ever recommend.

DO NOT USE! This company only cares about money. There is no customer service and will not care what your fence looks like. I had to pay extra to move the post that they placed in the wrong spot. No one would call me back or work with me. I am very unhappy with the finished product but they got their money so they don't care. Thanks for once again not calling me back. From our sales person to management, I felt used and very taken advantaged of from the minute I gave a deposit. Not to mention it took almost three months to complete when I was told it would be less than a month. Do not use this fence company!

4 months after the fence was built found out they never got a building permit thru the city, when brought this to Dan’s attention took no responsibility and we were told it was our job to “read the contract” and we needed to take care of this. Also was told “We don’t need to see building permits as long as they’ve been approved.” How would they know if was approved if it was never asked to see it!!!???! So basically they don’t do their due diligence and build a fence without ever checking if its okay? Also was told by city it may need to be moved because of placement. Dan told us it’s “not his job” to know city ordinances for fences....well then who’s is it if not a fence company?? A simple conversation would have alleviated this, or at the very least some basic customer service when we reached out with an issue. Dan was super rude to me as well as my husband when we had an issue—DO NOT RECOMMEND USING!

March 28th, 2016 my wife and I agreed at a price for a privacy fence. We were informed that the fence would be installed by the end of April. The fence was finally installed and all of the mistakes were completed by October 7th. Yes! It took over 6-MONTHS to get the fence installed and the way we initially agreed to and signed for. Here is the detailed story of each mistake for you all to read. Prepare to be mind-blown. My timeline could be slightly off on a couple details because I have been dealing with this for 6-months and I also had a kid in the meantime, which has lost me a little sleep. We started working with Tyler on March 28th. He informed us of the time-frame for installation. He also informed us that the fence posts are installed and it then takes a couple weeks for them to settle and by that time, the panels would be in, which would put us to the end of April. Great! Right? Well, not so much. By the middle of April we made a couple phone calls to find out when the posts would be installed and was informed they're running behind. It happens, I get it. We also had a couple dogs and they were both on a leash. So, we were excited to let them run loose in the backyard. So, now we're in May and we still have no posts or fence installed. I again made a couple phone calls. The posts were finally installed in early to mid-May. I came home from work that evening (after installation of the posts) at 9pm to find out they didn't put up the proper gates we initially wanted. We wanted a French-gate on both ends, which allows me to maneuver the lawnmower from the front to the back yard easier. We only got one French-gate. I also came out the next morning when it was light out to find out a couple posts were not level, they added more posts than needed in certain areas, also each post was supposed to be 6-foot from the other, and we had one post that was 5-foot from the next post and the very next post was 10-foot apart. They don't make 10-foot panels. Again, I get mistakes happen and I just made a couple phone calls to inform them. I then started speaking with Jeff (supervisor) who wanted to come out and meet with me to discuss the issues. Cool! I am in sales/customer service and he approached it the way I expected. Well, again, this was just getting worse. Jeff informed me upon arrival that my signature was actually forged by an employee of his on the blueprint of the fence, which included the posts layout, the panel layout and the french doors we had requested on March 28th. So, we were never able to confirm anything at all. SWEET!! I started to get pretty irritated by this point, which is not my nature. Jeff knew this and we settled on the company eating the costs of the French-gate so we could move on. A couple days later I had my neighbor approach me to inform me that my fence posts were on his yard (according to his sprinkler system layout) and they broke one of his sprinkler heads when installing a post. I called Jeff again on this issue, but said it was our fault that we didn't have a lot survey done. My wife and I immediately informed him that Tyler talked us out of the survey option because when we initially ordered the fence that neighbor did not live there and the fence would be installed prior to anyone moving in. We thought this was the right move since it was our first house and we have never installed a fence. We ended up getting a lot survey done and informed Jeff so they could reset the posts that were on my neighbors yard and also fix the issues that Jeff knew about. ******MY FULL REVIEW WAS TOO LONG TO POST IN ONE REVIEW, SO I HAD TO SEND TWO REVIEWS******

*WARNING* Do not do business with this company! Tyler refuses to admit that anything can be his fault. He assumes every customer knows exactly what forms they should fill out and who to hand them into. He will literally tell you that it is your fault! American Fence is extremely unorganized. If you do not communicate to make sure things are planned and ready to go, they will not do a thing to get your fence up. Ignore their timeline of when you'll get your fence, instead add at least 2 months to what they estimate (that's with begging them to get the fence started). The customer service is terrible. I did not feel comfortable with American fence being in my backyard. If you want to constantly remind a company to stick to the timeline, ask what needs to be done on your own, be ignored, and be disrespected, American Fence Co is for you!

The recent strong winds blew out a section of my vinyl fence. I called American Fence and despite the horrible weather, Tyler Franklin was at my home the following day to assess the damage. He waded through the deep snow to gather all the fence slats and place them in my garage until the weather will permit us to repair the fence. I had just come off hip replacement surgery so it would have been impossible for me to do this. Tyler was very friendly and happy to provide this "second mile" help. He had a quote in my email the next day and did everything he could to make sure to work me into their schedule and get this repair work done as soon as possible. Thank you, Tyler, and American Fence for your good service. I am grateful and look forward to getting my fence repaired as the weather permits this spring.

Worse place to ever work for! They will bring you in the first day and not warn you about any precautions or safety protocols. I worked there for one day out in the sun and got blisters and was burnt. I followed there instructions and even so I asked for a few days off to recover from my burns but they kept nagging me to come to work and that I shouldn't worry about my health. Well sorry but my health means first not my job.

I had them come out to provide an estimate. They were quick to come out and I was told I would receive an estimate via e-mail later that day. Four days later I called to follow up since I had not heard back from them. Once they "remembered" who I was I was told the quote was already sent, obviously unsuccessfully. I provided my e-mail address once again and was told they would resend it right away. Once again, I got nothing. Called back a day later and was told they had a problem sending it. Knowing this, they chose not to call me back and put it in snail mail although they knew I was told to expect the quote the previous day.. As far as I am concerned, they are a completely unprofessional and not at all a customer oriented operation. They took no action to follow up with me. I had to initiate all calls all to them. So...I would recommend then if you enjoy chasing down people and waiting indefinitely for follow up. I personally do not, therefore I can not recommend American Fence. For what it's worth, I have no problem waiting a week for a quote. It is that they said one thing and did another, repeatedly. Here is my advice to American Fence: Do what you say and say what you do.

Had them install a privacy fence a few years back. The gate always goes out of balance I called the first several times and they'd send someone out and it'd go right back to being out of balance again. Was told it's free for them to fix it. Well then unbalanced gate finally sheered the bolt off the latch.. 250$ for even a service call. The latch is 14$ at Lowe's and it broke because it was installed poorly. Theres no enough room between posts to correctly balance the gate now.
