George Hart, VP of Residential Sales arrived promptly as scheduled and gave me a fair estimate on removing 2 layers of shingles and installing new GAF architectural shingles on my cape cod home. Mr. Hart was very patient with my request for shingle samples and provided addresses of previous installations to help me finalize my shingle choice. Daniel Harris over saw the actual installation the end of June 2015. The team of roofers arrived promptly and worked extremely hard in 90+ degree heat. The roof was completed in 1 1/2 days. The team took great care to cover my landscaping around the house. Cleanup was amazing!! Everyone including office staff (Savannah especially), Mr. Hart and Mr. Harris, and the roofing crew were efficient at their jobs and patiently listened to and addressed any concerns I had. (I look forward to having their fabricated chimney chase cover installed in the near future to complete the job.) I would definitely recommend this company to others based on my experience.

These guys are prompt and professional. The work was done quickly. They were also very neat and cleaned up after themselves, which other roofers that I have worked with have not done. They only issues were around scheduling and communications. They called to schedule the work, but didn't communicate with me that they were coming to do work in three separate stages versus all on the same day. It all worked out in the end and the work was completed, though.

I just had a new roof put on my house. Apparently I had a lot of ruined wood underneath the layers of shingles. I am very happy that it was all corrected and done properly, they could have very easily covered up bad parts with shingles and never have told me about it. I know they worked very hard all day long getting everything fixed. The peace of mind knowing that I won't have any problems was worth the extra cost to replace the roofing part under the shingles.

I do wish they would have kept me more informed as to the progress on the job, they almost left without telling me they were finished . I had some questions about what wood damage they may have found and how it was repaired which they answered to my satisfaction. Overall I was very pleased with the finished job.

American Roofing and Metal replaced my roof. They were patient in answering my questions prior to contracting. The roofers did a great job and were very nice and polite. It was extremely hot and they worked long days in a timely manner. I did have an issue with nails upon clean up and a few landscape plants. Everything was dealt with promptly, including questions during and after the roof was complete. They called a few days later to check on my satisfaction as well. The only reason I give 4 stars is because I was notified I would be called ahead of the job and I was not called. However, the situation was deal with and luckily did not conflict with my schedule. I would hire again and feel I made a great choice in who I chose to do my roof.

I contacted American last summer(2016) to get a quote for installing a standing seam metal roof on a new front porch I had just added to my house. In the course of getting a few bids on the project, I ended up with some other quotes that were considerably less expensive, but as I looked into the project more closely, I found that the other quotes didn't include some of the installation features that were included in American's quote, such as the turn-under of the front edge where it finishes at the face board of the porch. There's a term for this that I can't recall, but it is an important feature to a proper installation, in my opinion, and some of the other quotes did not include this. Also, the right side of my roof tied into my shingled garage roof at a 45-degree angle, and I knew that experience and expertise would be necessary to do this properly. For these and other reasons I decided to spend the extra $$ and go with American, mainly because I knew they do these type roofs every day and have the expertise and experience to do it right. Also, I had contacted a couple contractors who had built houses in Norton Commons that have these type roofs, and both of them recommended American . At any rate, my roof project ended up having to be delayed several months due to my last-minute decision to install new front windows first. But American was very understanding and even tho' it was not until November that I was ready for the installation, they came on very short notice and did the work on a fairly cold weekend. I worked with Mr. George Hart on my project and I am very pleased with the quality of the work that his crew, headed up by Galen, did on my job. The metal is extruded on-site and these guys know what they're doing. I would strongly recommend using American for any type metal roof project.

Although I had some trouble getting an appointment scheduled once it was scheduled they came out on time and completed the repair as described on site without any further appointments scheduled. They did not have the correct color match of shingling with them and it would have added additional costs for them to go back and get a color match (they bill hourly including travel time). Instead they completed the repair with what they had available which was fine. The workers were very upfront and explained the options to me to allow me to make an informed final decision. The workers were nice and the cost was reasonable, I would use them again for future work.

Had 8 bidders for new roof. American Roofing and Metal was highest bidder. $1240 more than lowest bidder. 15.5 Squares on residential roof for $7400. We went with them because their contract was 4 pages detailing everything they would do plus 25 year no leak warranty and 50 year shingle warranty. 9 man crew arrived when scheduled. Had concerns about them not wearing fall protection. Color mismatch on drip edge but after they installed, it was not an issue for the wife. They ran out of sealant, adhesive and vent shingles thus having to make several trips for supplies. They completed the job in 6 hours. Did good job of clean up. Ended up with several flowers damaged in beds around house but everything else was good. Roof looks great. Waiting for first 5 inch rainfall to test for leaks.

We had a large roof replaced with synthetic slate and copper snow guards and new gutters/downspouts. The finished product was beautiful, only downside was the communication was lacking. Salesman was prompt and available but project management communication was lacking. They were even a bit slow on sending the bill. We felt like considering the $$$ we spent on a roof, we would liked to have been better informed of schedule, progress, etc.. Better communication skills would have upgraded to a five star review.

I had a replacement of the roof on an addition to my home. They worked my relatively small job into their schedule and were able to complete the work with a minimum of disruption or problem. In fact, they were able to work around the Christmas decorations and lights without so much as a broken bulb. My wife thought it was cute that the workmen were stretching the meager late December light by plugging in our string of lights along the railing surrounding the work area. I plan on using them again for similar work.

The roof is very nice and they did a complete tear off and add on, replacing anything that needed repair underneath. The only issue was getting them to come back to paint the four pieces of metal that were put at the downspout and eave. All in all, happy with product and price.

Overall we were happy with the work done by American Roofing and Metal Co. We had our shingles replaced by them this past week. The crew was on time and did the job promised with quality workmanship. My one complaint about the work is that in a 5 minute search after the crew left, I found about 10 more nails in pretty obvious places, including our gravel driveway. The main reason I gave the company four stars though is that on several occasions when I contacted the office employees, I did not hear back from them until I contacted them again. It seemed as though customer issues sometimes fell through the cracks. One example was when we were first booking the job, I messaged the employee in charge of estimations to see if we could schedule an appointment, and did not hear back from him again until I tried messaging a second time. Another example was in trying to fill out this review, I emailed the staff with a question and never heard back until I made a phone call. Communication also seemed to be lacking on the office end. I had to call the day before our first scheduled start date to find out if the crew was in fact coming the next day. I feel that the communication about the work should have occurred the other way around, especially when, as it turned out, the work was going to be delayed another three weeks. Overall, this company was more professional than many of the other companies we contacted about the initial work. It is my opinion, however, that they have some work to do on their communication with customers and organization skills.

He came on Sunday (his day off) and inspected every inch of my roof, and explained what exactly happened and what would be the best material (not the most expensive) to use, to get the full protection for my home. I just bought a house and as a condition of my loan I had to have my roof replaced after closing. I decided to get estimates from three companies. American Roofing & Metal Co. was the first company I receive my estimate from. I should have stopped right there because they had the best price around. They came and replaced my roof October 26th and were done that day. I was not home for the replacement and I couldn't even tell they had been there. No sign of them, but I did have a nice black roof to show for it. Since then it's rained for days and so sign of any issues. Thank you American Roofing & Metal Co.

American Roofing & Metal replaced our roof in 2007. We had no problems until a while ago when we noticed a small leak in our bedroom near the chimney. They promptly identified the problem and repaired it. They took pictures of the problem and again after the repair. We could understand what the issue was and what was done to fix it. We have been very pleased with American Roofing & Metal and would recommend them to anyone needing a new roof or repairs.

The work was sloppy and extremely poor quality. Nails and trash were left behind, they broke our vinyl siding, and their work resulted in non-stop leak issues for a year causing further damage and mold to dry-wall/carpet! We eventually hired someone else to fix the leaks. Their warranty is simply a con. I still have trouble sleeping in the house during rain. Avoid this company at all cost.

They were punctual and got the job done. I was tld an inspector would come out to look at it after it was done. No one came so i had to have them reschedule. Some shingles didnt laying flat so i called. I spoke with a lady(she was always friendly and helpful) and she told me they took time to form to your roof. She rescheduled the inspector for me and someone was out to within the next day or so. I was told our yard would be gone over twice with the magnet for nails (we have two small children). I am still pulling nails out of my yard. I've never had a roof done, so I'm not sure how normal any of this is? I was happy with service and questions I asked were answered. My roof looks great and have had no other issues thus far.

American Roofing was cooperative through the entire process, from estimate to completion of the job. The roofers worked steady through the hot days, but I was also glad they were allowed to take breaks from the heat. I have had no problems with their work as of yet, but have no reason to believe they wouldn't honor their warranty. I'd recommend them to anyone at this point without reservation. There ratings were tops, their price the lowest of the three we obtained. They were also endorsed by our home insurer as far as a good company to work with, etc.

*Update* I am updating this review and dropping it to 1 star based on how poorly the work that American Roofing held up and what I feel was an unsatisfactory response to address it. One repair that was originally performed was to scrape and repaint a section of metal plating outside two upper story windows at a cost of $425. Less than a year and a half later, I noticed that one of those sections was peeling badly and leaving the metal exposed. When I contacted the company about it they offered to inspect it and give a quote to repair it. Nearly three weeks later, I received a quote of $300 so they actually wanted to charge me more for one window than what they charged for a job that wasn't done right the first time. I used another company, who noticed flaws in how the coating was applied on both windows, and they completely redid both windows for $150. So in short, I paid $212.50 for a poorly done job, and they wanted another $300 to fix it so I just can't recommend them when there are so many other choices out there. *Original Review * Very nice people, but just an average experience with them overall. They did come out quickly and provided a detailed estimate, but after I signed and faxed the proposal I never got any kind of response confirming they received it. I called a week later and was told it was received but it would take them about 3 weeks to get to me. It ended up taking over 5 weeks and they forgot to do one of the repairs on the list. Fortunately it was something I could see from the window or else I would have ended up paying for something that wasn't done. When I contacted them about it, I didn't get a response and two days later I had to follow up again. They were very nice and everything did eventually get taken care of, but given the hassles I can't give them a better rating than average.

Not sure how this place ever gets business when they don't follow up on estimates. Contacted them 3 weeks ago for a roof replacement and was told they would be out 3 days later. A week later and they finally made it out and left a packet on general roofing info in our mailbox but no estimate. 3 days later I followed up for the estimate and was told he would have something to me by the following weekend. 2 weeks have past and still no estimate! Cannot comment on the quality of the works since obviously we have gone elsewhere to someone who actually wants our business.

American Roofing was an answer to a prayer! Literally!! An Appointment was set up the first day to determine what would be needed. They were diligent to find the matching color for our tin roof and repair the skylight which had been leaking since installed by someone else.
