I haven't been in, but the place looks awesome. Very cool art all around the place. It is historical and looks to be a museum these days. I would love to hear what those walls have absorbed.

Highlight of my Chicago Visit. Host, Ben gave us a comprehensive tour and shared many magical anecdotes and insights into this hallowed place in the annals of our culture. Willie Dixon, who wrote hundreds of well-known songs was smart enough to purchase the building and his daughter still manages the Blues Heaven Foundation. To sit in the Studio and listen to the music created there was transforming. A sacred, non-commercial shrine. Don’t miss this.

Great tour of an iconic record studio. The one hour tour was incredibly informative. You could tell that the tour guide was very passionate about his job. I liked how he showed us the difference between jazz and blues music. It was also incredible to hear the songs that were actually recorded in their original space.

Nice piece of history here at Chess Records. For $10 you get a SUPER informative tour of the building which takes you through the history of modern day music. Many artists such as Etta James, Chuck Berry, and The Rolling Stones have recorded there, which is mind blowing! I'm from Chicago but the majority of the people on my tour were from different countries, so this place is clearly known worldwide. Highly recommend to music lovers.

Our last day spent in Chicago was amazing, not only did we get into Chess Studio for the tour, but we also got a private tour from Willie's Grandson. I have to say the mojo in that room is heavy! I even shed a few tears of joy!

Our guide added a special spark to the tour, as she knew many of the artists she talked about and provided that personal insight. There's lots of great pictures and displays, but for us the highlight was listening to a selection of Chess tunes in the recording studio, with its arched ceiling and wondrous acoustics.

Julissa Ruiz

Checked this off my bucket list. Had an amazing time at the Chess Records office. Keith, a gentleman who volunteers his time at the historic site, gave us a tour of the facility and was beyond knowledgeable about Chess Records and those who walked through the doors. $10 tour per person, please try to also donate to the location so that they can have to funds to continue carrying on the legacy of Chess Records !

Can’t believe I was in a building where lots of blues masters had been in before. And as you walk inside, you probably standing where B.B King stands when he walked in just like you! I felt like in a time machines. Felt like the Stones, Muddy, etc are walking pass me. Finally, I am proud to say: I’ve been there!
