Really Nice Selection :) Cozy Too!
Love B&N .. you can find a lot of different books, text bioks from depaul and john marshall universities, many students, and Starbucks is great to have coffee, study or read a good book all while visiting B&N
One of my favorite go to places to get some computer work done. I love the vibe of books and coffee. Yay!
Good place to read and relax
I order two books I couldn't find last week and Barnes & Noble came through. It's not the first time I order books from them. Always seems to be fair price. No extra charge, shipping or handleing. The clark/staff is always friendly and willing to help out. You can always go in and have coffee and read a magzine, newspaper or a book. They make you feel welcome.
Really good lunch spot
Nice downtown location. Found what I needed and a few surprises.
Small bookstore on DePaul Loop Campus, nice sandwich and coffee shop, two levels, lower level is great for browsing and gift shop
Excellent service
Very chill environment with a peaceful staff.
This Barnes and Noble always seems a bit understaffed but I do appreciate that they'll gift wrap everything you buy. It's also convenient that the store is downtown and part of a larger shopping district. If you enjoy the Barnes and Noble here, be sure to check out the Harold Washington library a few blocks away. It's massive and the top floor has a lovely indoor garden where you can read and check out CPL's special collections and programming.
Nice place. A bit crowded sometimes.
Very good place for reading and buying books. Highly recommended.
It's Barnes and Noble!
I love the selection of books and materials and the fact that it's at the same location of school and starbucks.
Very helpful client service.
Good selection of books, friendly staff, and easy to find. This B&N also doubles as the official bookstore for DePaul students and they also provide books for John Marshall Law School students since JMLS closed their bookstore. Overall it is your standard B&R, appearing to have smaller footprint, but they have a basement so that might makeup for the overall smaller footprint.
The bookstore is ok, the cafe is a good place to read a bit. The customer service at the cafe at 9am on Friday, July 5th was beyond bad. The ladies behind the counter were inconvenienced by my purchase, they gave me something I didn’t order and then got short with me when I asked them to fix it. Hopefully this was an off day.
Pretty cool place. I'm just really disappointed in their fashion section. It's quite small and scarce.
Great place for books lovers!
I spent plenty of time there and it has help me turn my life around
organized very clean and nice place to sit and eat watch your videos or get on the laptop great time killer
Being in Chicago and not wanting to drive anywhere, this was within walking distance from our hotel. Really enjoyed the outside of the building and the detail. Staff was friendly and helpful and customers looked like they were super comfy being there.
The pereft place for who love read!
Always a positive experience with lots of room to sit and have coffee. I usually sit for a little while, read and download a book or two and it has a great atmosphere + good service!
The location was great. Staffs were kind and friendly. Great selection and there were various categories.
Love B&N, always has great options and diverse books at good prices. I always dig through the bargain books shelves and find something I like!
I love books so a trip to bookstore is always a pleasure. This store is located in one of the De Paul University buildings. It's not a school bookstore but does serve the student population.
Good displays and very helpful staff
Great sale
Awesome Barnes and noble but not enough variety and choice in Christian books
Great place to casually browse for books, magazines, and unique board games. Coffee shop in the store. Large children's section. College textbooks on the basement.
Book stores are becoming harder to find, even big ones like Barnes & Noble. So, it's nice that it's still available.
Love the book store. I find exactly what I am looking for I get discounts which are great with new books. I only paid 21.35 for the Michelle Obama book.
Way better collection than any other Barnes and nobles Ive visited
A good Barnes and noble attached to Layola. However, they want you to purchase something if you're planning on camping out.
Very clean, spacious and welcoming
I love this place! It’s such a great place to hangout/study/browse. And it’s massive!!! Don’t miss it if you’re walking down State Street. They have a huge collection and lots of older books too that might be out of stock elsewhere. Cafe is great, and there are so many trinket/stationery options as well!
Great variety and children's section. Starbucks inside, nice seating outdoors. Finding parking was difficult but we managed. Found item we were looking for with ease and some!
Amazing bookstore!! Could spend hours and hours there!
My favorite quiet place...all employees are helpful and friendly
Perfect! But missing a bathroom inside.
It was good and i would visit again
The prices are high, and it can be noisy, so if you're looking for a quiet place to read or study, this is not it. However, there is free Wi-Fi for customers, a nice selection of books to purchase, and the baked goods are delicious.
Great place to browse and BUY books. Check out the coffee bar while you're there.
Great coffee and tons of books.
A relaxing place to read & study or to just reflect & have quiet time with some coffee or tea. What a nice book store/cafe
Very convenient. Staff helpful. Books and music available
Good book choices, right in the heart of DePaul
Just stopped in for a quick snack & coffee at the Starbucks which is located in the book store. Seems like a nice place to browse & come in, out of the cold.
I was happy with the PC magazine selection, not a lot of sitting spaces but bought a drink and decided to buy.
Great place, a lot of variety and great choices, plus there is a Starbucks so you can sit down and enjoy a coffee with a good book
The staff are friendly and very clean environment. I always have a great time.
One of the last large bookstores that has large imediate inventory. Includes some games. Will order books for you. Downtown Chicago store near restaurants & near public transportation.
Beautiful bookstore with outdoor seating areas l.
Nice, clean, comfortable environment. Love the fact they have up stair and down stairs where you can get comfortable and read
Well stocked, but some of the booksellers, I think they might be students, are rude. Memento Mori, B&N. I can easily shop elsewhere.
Always best place to come to read, focus, and study
This is a charming place
Great store lots of books and friendly people all locations are clean and tidy I enjoy going there for people watching and buying what i need.
If you can't find a book for someplace else you will find it here
Ive been dreaming to go to this place ever since I've read the Harry Potter series. Mainly coz it has a lot of interesting HP merchandise
Beautiful architecture and so much selection
Nice place to take a break. Staffs are always friendly, everything was well organized as usual.
I head to this place every now and then after work and browse through the latest books. If you really want to enhance your reader experience, use the Goodreads app camera function and scan book covers. That way you get to read reviews and see what people think about the book you want to purchase.
Never too crowded and always fast service at the coffee shop.
Thanks to its unhelpful and sour employees, this B&N joins the ranks of institutions such as the DMV, TSA, and IRS. I would rather go to a medieval dentist to remedy a toothache than patronize this place. Stay away!
Easy to find what I was looking for. Customer service was very helpful.
Nice place like if don't see novel store will order for me
I couldn't find the movie I wanted.
Great to see good book stores thriving.
Barnes & Noble, Inc., a Fortune 1000 company, is the bookseller with the largest number of retail outlets in the United States and a retailer of content, digital media and educational products. After a series of mergers and bankruptcies in the American bookstore industry since the 1990s, Barnes & Noble stands alone as the United States' largest national bookstore chain.Previously, Barnes & Noble operated the chain of small B. Dalton Bookseller stores in malls until they announced the liquidation of the chain. The company is known for large retail outlets, many of which contain a café serving Starbucks coffee and other consumables. Most stores sell books, magazines, newspapers, DVDs, graphic novels, gifts, games, toys, music and Nook e‑readers and tablets.
Great place to visit cause there is a starbucks in it. If your not a DePaul student you have to get a bathroom key to use the washroom.
Cozy store, serves the DePaul U community.
I love this location! Although it's a bit crowed but generally the bookstore is quite organized, has variety of genres and great atmosphere for people who want to read, work or study~
Wide selection and nice atmosphere. Staff was a little rude, but to be fair it was about an hour before closing time, so it may have just been a long day.
Cashier and staff were very helpful
A key option to hang out if you have some hours to spare
Reading is all I do is the blessed best place to do all your thinking to relax and have a cup of coffee a bagel or 2
Favorite book store
It's a shame that Barnes & Noble is less of a book store every day... Only half of it contains books now; the other half has all sorts of unrelated merchandise.
I love the one in woodland they have my books 95 percent of the time. They even have kids toys.
Love this store worker are so helpful
Very nice book store
Great selection of books. Cafe to buy something to eat or drink. Lots of other book related nick-nacks. They have Lego sets.
Bookstore is standard B&N, the Cafe's customer service has been consistently horrible, so rude and slow- and messing the order up half the time.
It's a good place to go. Lots of books that you might want buy. Buy different kinds of shirts and hats. And looking for models to build with your hands. Different book marker to put in your book to hold your place until you go back to your book to read again.
Best place for buying books
My favorite bookstore!!
Environment is very easy and quiet no one bothers you and staff is very helpful
Great selection....great helpful staff.
Cradle of knowledge...
Great selection of books. Too many homeless...
It is a place for book lovers. Always always nice staff(It is hard to maintain) . Food are like normal Starbucks.
I love the variety of the books and the excellent service provided by the people there
Love this place
This is one of the larger barnes and noble that I have visited. Located on DePaul's loop campus, you can find textbooks and DePaul gear there. It also has regular barnes and noble merchandise. Fyi if you are a member take your card as they cannot look up your membership number like at the other stores. I had to learn the hard way.
It was well stocked and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly.
Good atmosphere, does not accept all discount and offers as the real store.
I ordered textbooks online here before, but often times they don't actually have used book. In such cases, they will charge you for the price of a new book and give you one, so it is possible that they show or advertise an item they don't actually have (they even kind of admit it on the website when you select the order as they don't guarantee that they have it). Moreover, they claim to price match Amazon, but Amazon is always cheaper in reality as the books at this store are often overpriced. Fortunately, there is a coffee shop in the store. You can also wait for lyft or uber rides here too. When the weather is not good or extreme outside, this place is comfortable.
Latte was good.
Great book store. The staff was really helpful and friendly. They even gave me options on how to go about what I'm studying. Love it.
A good selection of new books, but don't ask questions because they won't have time for you.
Good variety a available.
If I go there I forget time. It's like walking in the garden of some magical things. Huge collection of best books, you can touch, read and take home ( for money of course). Prices are affordable for everyone!❤
Don't you miss browsing in bookstores? One of the last remaining places. Good selection!
Good balancing act between two clienteles: students and the general public
Rude customer service clerk always on phone
There was some new gaming books i never saw before!
Small store. High foot traffic due to college students and people who work in the building. Not very clean. Store layout is confusing.
Last remaining big bookstore chain in Chicagoland
Nice store, wide variety of selections including textbook for depaul students and other books on the ground level. They have a coffee shop inside which is nice. Working and study there is nice but 1 star deduction for how busy it gets sometimes.
Excellent Customer Service and.many sales. Staff is the Best always there to serve you. Thank you for your service.
They didn't have the books I was looking for, but they told me how to get them online. Very polite and clurteous!
Best late evening book shopping in Chicago
I love urban novels..Their selection isn't huge but it's worth it I got this book for $7
Huge bookstore! You'll find anything you want, almost guaranteed
Wonderful place to stop and have a hot cocoa and escape the hustlers movers and shakers .... Browsing the shelves of books and magazines takes the edge off Of the fast paced movement out side.... A wonderfully hospitable staff makes for a nice Mid day snack at the windowside counter...a gem of a spot.
Great place for books, very helpful staff.
Great place to hang out, a decently priced cafe inside the bookshop to lounge at with WiFi. The bargain shelf has plenty of variety of good books for all ages. Staff are friendly and helpful. Open till late at night 9-10pm.
Great selection good location
Great place to buy books.
PLEATY OF BOOKS
There are two floor in here. It's busy on the main floor and there's a lot of foot traffic with people entering and exiting. The bottom floor is quiet and mostly empty. I found a book to purchase down there. The main floor was too busy for me to focus on choosing a book. There's also a Starbucks on the main floor.
An impressive cookbook section. Gluten free, vegan, paleo... etc.
Staff was helpful in finding the books I needed
Loved this branch of Barnes and Noble. Very organized, large selection of books, a lot of people, it really made you want to pick up a book and start reading instantly. Totally recommend this branch
When you love books, and always the latest and nice gift selections
Great selection of both books and gifts. Good cafe with plenty of good seating.
I forgot how fun bookstores were. This one had so many fun books!! I wish they had more chairs to longer around in.
Very helpful staff
I always enjoy a good book store that's well-stocked just kind of hard to get help when you need it
Never went inside. May have been sitting in traffic in front of the location.
Fantastic place to spend time!!
It's a giant book store and cafe. Not sure what else there is to say about it. Plus, it's next to a movie theater and across the street from great pizza.
Good environment, plenty of spaces to sit down and do work at the coffee shop. 2 floors of merchandise and books, lots of depaul related merchandise available.
Chain bookstore.
Well it's really good but they need more books in Spanish, well what i can said my language it's just beautiful...!
Excellent location for reading gifts and onsite coffee shop..
You love books? Go there!
Great selection and helpful staff! I needed a book they didn't have and they helped me find it and order it for me. Great store in a landmark building.
Very calm nice place to relax and unwind
More so a school based B&N but large enough and pretty good selection. My go to, due to accessibility in the Loop.
Good...could use better personality at cashier.
Slow service on every visit. Staff typically have poor attitude, especially in downstairs textbook area.
Nice selection of computer books.
Sooo many books, great place
For sure B&N is a good library. Unfortunately they can't propose to me the 3 books I was working for my German lessons. I refuse to advertise Ama___n but they have it
A quite relaxing bookstore, you can find pretty much everything. It would be awesome it there where more couches
Lots of books! Great place
Love this bookstore, a great space downtown to decompress
I love this bookstore. The staff is super knowledgable and very helpful.
Typical barnes and noble. Enjoyed my time there.
It's a great store but the prices are way to high amazon is a better option
My 3rd favorite barnes and nobles.
Great staff and clean but homeless treat it like a library and spend the day there.
A big store with a lot of options
