I am so disappointed in my entire interaction with this company. When we got our first quote in March, the OWNER came out to do the assessment and I was impressed. It was a local company who had worked on our neighbors fencing and we wanted to work with them as well. At that time we were unable to move forward with the project in order to save additional funds to get it done.
At the end of May we were ready to go ahead with the project, so I reached out via email as the owner had specified that was the best way to reach him. I never got a response. I attempted to call as well and the voice mail box was full for 2 days. When I was finally able to leave a message another employee called me back but did not leave a message. I called the number back and stated I missed a call from them. It was incredibly difficult to hear this employee as I tried to explain that we had an estimate done previously and were ready to move forward. The employee, Rich, stated he would be out to look over the property in 40 minutes.
When Rich arrived he remeasured the property and told my husband he would email his estimate that night. 3 days later we received the quote that was over $1,000 over the original estimate that the owner had given us. At this point I wanted to contact the owner to let him know what was going on, as I was extremely disappointed in how this all played out. I really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, but was clearly disappointed.
I left a message for the manager or owner to call me back, which he did the next day. He stated he would review our quotes and get back to me that day. The NEXT DAY he called me back and left a voicemail stating that the cost of materials had gone up and that is why the new quote was higher. I completely understand that this happens, but took issue with the fact that the breakdown of the two quotes were drastically different in the amount of fencing needed and size of our property. When I called him back to explain this he told me that he would review it once again and email me in 20 minutes. An hour later I received his email claiming that he, THE OWNER, had completely missed an 8 foot section, and that the newest quote was in fact correct. He offered to provide a slight discount for the run around I received, which I give him credit for, but the quote was still almost $700 more.
I understand that companies get busy and prices change when you wait so long on a project, but the way in which this company handled itself was inexcusable. Obviously we will not be moving forward with them and have to start completely over to find a fence company to work with. I am so disappointed and aggravated by the complete lack of professionalism.
