Do not do business with them. Very shady and will do anything in his power to either not pay you or tell your insurance you owe him hundreds of thousands (even if your part of the job is done 100% plus some) and if that doesn’t work, he will try to sue you. I usually don’t leave reviews but if my review (as well as all the other reviews on here) will save a company from getting sucked into this conman’s ways, then my job here is done!

Like many of the other contractors he owes us 100s of thousands off two jobs. He constantly denied pay apps saying they were incorrect. His office staff supports his shady behavior. We kept working trying to help and get the job done in hopes to get paid. He will lie to get money from your insurance company. He owes at least 4 subs off the Boise museum job (400k). He puts businesses under by not paying to pad his pocket. He’s a horrible general contractor. It’s to bad they didn’t Let him die when he tried offing himself!

Alan Franking

Barry is a very shady business man! He owes over $1 million to subcontractors, employees, and debtors, his business is only valued at $500k. He embarrassed the Quincy, WA community with his latest build of the JR High, which was delivered 6 months late, but he doesn’t accept any blame. His staff seems to be good people that are forced to conduct the shady practices he does. Currently Barry is subject to 10+ lawsuits over owed monies. I am one of those subcontractors he owes! We did everything we could to help Barry, to include more work than we originally bid. Haven’t been paid for that work or original subcontract work, even though all is stated in subcontract or change orders. He stated we, along with every subcontract on the job delayed the project. NOT TRUE! ($345,000). The real reasoning is that Barry was $1.5 million low on bid day and is trying to recoup that money by screwing his subs. Please use my experience as a warning to any owner, employee, or subcontractor that does business with him.

BHC is worst Contractor I have ever worked with. I have performed on thousands of projects and have never experienced such a poorly ran project. He has not paid 23 subs and suppliers and counting on a project we did with him. Barry is a total crook. I wouldn't even give him one star if I could.

Idaho Contractor

Barry Hayes is the worst GC we've dealt with in decades of operation. Refuses to pay and owes 100's of thousands for multiple projects. If you are an Owner reject his proposal as he cannot timely finish a project or pay subs. As a sub you'd be a fool to even give him a quote.
