Unfortunately my recent experience with Mike, the owner, of A-1 Quality Concrete has NOT been a good one. I had used A-1 previously to install new concrete on my front porch and had a good experience. So I expected the same when I hired A-1 to install concrete decking around my pool and walkways leading to decking. This WAS NOT the case. I had the job done this last winter. When the job stalled, due to cold/snowy weather, Mike tried to charge me $25/blanket to cover the concrete which would have resulted in hundreds of dollars extra expense for me. I refused to pay the extra money as they did not put that on my quote and they knew the job would be performed during the winter. A heated discussion ensued with Mike. I explained to Mike that I had no intention on using the pool during the winter and did not care if all his equipment/forms sat at my house for several months until weather got warmer. It was only then that he agreed that he would cover the concrete at no additional charge to me. The bigger issue is that his company caused over $600 in damage to newly installed sprinkler lines. All precautions were taken to ensure the lines would not be punctured be concrete stakes. I even took the time to meet with Mike, my landscape contractor and my pool contractor all at the same time so my landscaper could show everyone exactly where the lines were buried. Instead of taking care not to hit the lines, Mike and his crew used 30"+ long stakes to set forms for 4" - 6' concrete. After concrete had been poured, we discovered 3 different punctured lines, in 3 different places, for a total of 8 punctures. We found 20" remnants of wooden stakes that had been broken off in the ground. I took pictures of same and called Mike at A-1 to advise of situation. Mike even came out to my house to inspect the situation himself. He initially agreed to pay at least a portion of the repairs to the punctured lines. HOWEVER, after providing Mike with the bill for the repairs, he has not returned my e-mail or any of my phone calls. My advise. Don't hire A-1 Quality Concrete. You may get more than you bargained for!

I just had A-1 Quality Concrete pour a new driveway, front porch, and easement driveway - Lots of work and lots of planning. I had three estimates and A-1 Quality came in not only at the best price, but they seemed the most qualified and most professional. They offered many suggestions as to how to make my project better and the job turned out beautifully. The estimator Frank was extremely professional, efficient, and knowledgeable about the business and had answers to my many questions; as the first point of contact for me, Frank represented the company very well. I also met Mike the owner when he came out to look over both jobs, he was also very professional and easy to talk and work with. Lucas, the foreman, was very knowledgeable and personable and coordinated both jobs with expertise and professionalism. I watched the crew when the concrete trucks pulled onto the jobsite, and it was like a well orchestrated symphony, everyone was ready and knew exactly what to do and when. It was fantastic, the job turned out beautifully and I will recommend A-1 Quality Concrete to anyone who asks and I will definitely be using them on my next job.

I would recommend NOT using this company. The owner is threatening and rude. The quality of work is not good and the concrete slab they poured doesn’t match the contract I signed. I’ve used a lot of contractors over the years and this is the worst company ever! I now have to spend another $750 to fix their screw up. We had our driveway poured six months ago (Nov. 2016). Now there is sloughing of the top layer of the concrete and many spider cracks. This company rep through a smug smile said, "Too bad, too sad. There's nothing we can or will do about that." They did not take care to cure the concrete in the cold weather. They did not cover the concrete with blankets. They were also very sloppy in that concrete was spattered up to 10 feet on the face of our garage door and archway. As written in a previous post, this company does not stand behind their work. I would suggest you not use them.

Mike did an excellent job with my concrete steps and side walks. You could tell he was extremely knowledgeable and that he cared. A1 did great work at a fair price. I highly recommend A-1 quality concrete. I am having them back soon to pour my garage pad and foundation.

Second time we have used A-1 quality concrete, owner was onsite consistantly, pricing is better than competitors, I had 3 estimates done, A-1 quality beat all 3 estimates w/o knowing what they were. The foreman as well as the owner Mike helped us with design ideas and pointing out drainage issues that would be caused by our down spouts. These drainage issues over time would have ruined the concrete. A big help!! As we are not concrete finishers and would not have known! Men are polite and work hard. We are very happy with our patio and walk ways. Will absolutely use them again.

Do not use if you want them to stand behind their work. After plenty of research on Google and Angie's List, I thought this was a company that would do a good job and stand by their work. I specifically asked if they poured during the cold (work was done several months ago) and they assured me they would use special additives (which cost more) and blankets to make things go smoothly. Not so. The color is splotchy and it looks like there are oil stains on the driveway. They said the color would even out during the summer months. Summer has come and gone with no change. They said a pressure wash would help and they came out to do that. Still no impact. They now say that we should not have poured in the cold months. But they told us not to worry when that was our exact concern. And we could have waited until the weather was warmer if they just would have told us that up front! If the work doesn't go well the first time, you are going to be stuck with a bad job and no help from them. Don't take the risk. Find someone else that will take pride in their work and will make things right when there are errors.

I've used A-1 Quality Concrete twice in as many years and would recommend them for quality work at a competitive price. The crew foreman, Lucas knows his stuff and Chad will make sure your expectations are met and any concerns are addressed. While there were minor mistakes made during the removal of the old driveway, they made it right in the end by fixing them and extending my driveway by 3 ft. at no additional cost. Straightforward, honest company that will stand behind their work.

From start to finish A-1 Concrete was professional, courteous, friendly, and great to work with. From bid to completion, we had an excellent experience with A-1 when redoing our driveway. They explained every step, what they/we were responsible for (sprinklers, calling dig-line, etc.), how long we had to wait to drive on it (which a previous company did not do), how to care for it in the future (what kind of snow-melt to use, etc.), and were careful and respectful of our surrounding property. They took extra care with everything they did, patched what needed patching (little chips & things do sometimes happen), cleaned up, and came back out twice after the job was completed when we had a couple questions/areas of concern. They told us we had a warranty and if we had any issues at all, we could call them, which is helpful and reassuring. Hopefully we have no other issues with our driveway, but if we do, we feel quite confident that they will be back out to make sure everything is right. We want to thank everyone who worked on our driveway – from Chad, who so courteously provided our bid (very honest and fair price) and answered all our questions; to Monty doing the tear-out; to Lucas making sure everything was formed and poured correctly; and to all the guys that were working hard to make sure our driveway was right, and for treating our property the way they would treat their own. We will recommend them to friends and family!

They were great. Mike came out and gave me a fair estimate. In fact, he was much less than the rest of the estimates. Lucas came out and laid the concrete the way I wanted it. And the price came in right on par with the estimate. They made it eady. It was appreciated.

The owner is the guy who does the estimates...ask him if he's the owner and he'll lie and tell you he is not. Next; he promises MORE than he delivers, and requires money upfront--WARNING--do not give him money up front or he'll steal it from you without finishing the job like he did to us. THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE WE'VE ENCOUNTERED!!! Never again!! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY REGARDLESS OF THE BBB RATING.

We had them pour a concrete pad for our shop. The concrete looks great, HOWEVER they are terrible at communication. They postponed our work and left us unsure of when the process would begin. After, we were left with the understanding that we had paid in full and 3 weeks later received a pass due notice, the woman on the phone was very rude. Between that and the mess they left behind of empty water bottles and cigarette butts, I am not impressed.

We recently had A1 Quality Concrete remove our old driveway and front walkway and replace it. The crew was prompt, professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Their price was very reasonable. We are extremely pleased with our new driveway. Would definitely recommend this company to anyone.
