We share a driveway with several other homes. Part of the "common" area needed to be repaved, along with a "branch" off of it shared by three homes. One of those homeowners hired this company to do the work. My personal view of the work done is that it was deficient in an important respect. The "joints" between the new paving and the old that remained in place weren't blended in. Instead, there is an edge about an inch high. When a complaint was lodged, they came out and applied some sealer to the seam between the old and new, but the edge remains. It is vulnerable to damage from snow plows, which has already occurred. There was a small section of our driveway that also needed repair, but it wasn't in the original quote. When I inquired what it would cost, I got a story about how much "aprons" usually cost, but since all the equipment was out, they would give me a deal. I expected that deal to be about the same price per sq. ft. as the rest of the paving job, so I said okay. Instead, it was more than triple that amount. Once I figured it out, I complained, and the owner and his son both came out to try to convince me why their charges were reasonable. We finally settled on a compromise, and I was willing to let the whole thing go. However, this outfit also sold us their driveway coating service, which they promoted as superior to the coatings you can acquire elsewhere. We agreed to have them do it, and for time before the onset of last winter, the driveway did look better. This spring was a different story. There were high spots where the snow plows had scraped off the sealer. Not surprising, and not a cause for complaint. However, it was difficult to tell, after less than a year, that the driveway had been sealed at all. Several years ago I sealed this driveway the old fashioned way -- squeegee and big box sealer compound. I used two different brands, one of which lasted three years, the other of which lasted at least two years longer. The difference between the two was clear. Both were far better than the sealer this company used. On that basis, my best guess is that the supposed superior sealer that they apply is, in reality, greatly inferior to readily available commercial products. Since most homeowners have no basis for comparison, it is hard to get to that conclusion. However, I do have a basis, and I'm pretty sure that their sealer is inferior, not superior. The other possible explanation is that the surface wasn't properly prepared, but that isn't helpful to this company. If the surface wasn't suitable, they shouldn't have sold their service and product. I gave two stars instead of one on this review because this company was at least willing to deal with me on the paving issue. Had I been rating only the driveway sealing aspect of the review, it would have been one star.

American USA Paving was in our neighborhood recently providing a quote to a neighbor. As my driveway was also in dire need of replacement, I was pleased when young George Lee (3rd generation!) came up the drive to provide an estimate to remove and replace our driveway. A friend of mine with a similar size driveway recently had his replaced by another company, so I was aware of what the higher end of an estimate might be. After measuring my drive and discussing options and time frame, American USA Paving gave us a quote that was significantly lower than what my friend recently paid. We shook hands on the deal and set up dates to remove and replace within the week. American Paving met the agreed upon times/dates,. I was impressed that both George Lee senior , and sons George and Mark all worked the job. Ripping up with care leaving no mess, putting down a substantial compacted gravel base and a thick layer of new asphalt, taking great care with the joints between garage and drive, a hot mop layer against the garage foundation and burnishing of all seams and edges. I am very pleased with the speed, quality and price of this job! If you are in need of a new driveway or your old driveway needs sealing or help, give American USA Paving a call. An owner will give you a quote, and owners will be onsite actually working the job. In this day and age, for me a local, multi-generational business that does impeccable work for a fair price, will always be my first call. Oh, I ran into George senior at the transfer station a week ago. We discussed the job and the fact that his sons are following in his footsteps. He is justifiably proud of the work they did on our driveway, but most importantly he is proud of his sons, that he works alongside every day. Thank you Lee family.

I called for a quote and George Lee Jr. was quick to meet with me and offer his services. They did fair job paving a new area. They offered to fill existing cracks with rubber and I payed for this service. Within 3 months, nearly every crack that was filled with rubber opened up again. I called the owner, George Sr., in January as soon as I noticed and he said to call back when warmer. I have called several times over the summer and early fall and George Jr. has not been available to see the damaged area. On the phone he said "yea, this happens and sometimes needs to be redone". I have called repeatedly asking for a call back and no answer. Anyone can sell you a service but a reputable contractor responds when there is a problem with their service. I agree with the other reviewer..... these guys are scam artists. I would look elsewhere..... unfortunately I need to!

They did the exact same thing to us one month ago. Their son came to our door saying they had extra material and that they would do our driveway at a discount because they were already in the neighborhood they quoted us $3,000 which was reasonable and in par with other driveways in our neighborhood period after the job was done his father came and said the job was $5,600 and that they underestimated the length of the driveway. They are very dishonest and fraud and I will report them to the Better Business Bureau. It is a SCAM!!!!

Excellent experience with Mark and his crew! When I first contacted Mark he was quick to respond and gave me a reasonable estimate for paving my driveway. During the process Mark answered all my questions and personally oversaw all aspects of the job through completion. He scheduled the job in a timely manner. I hired this company from Glastonbury to pave my driveway the quote was in the middle of everyone else’s and I really trusted them for the simple reason I didn’t have to pay them anything upfront which other contractors wanted a down payment upfront and kept insureing me the driveway would be great and it turned out to be true from the first experience meeting them and talking to them to the start of removing the old driveway which was a wreak they had huge equipment digging it out and more equipment pressing it down then they added new stone and roll packed it down it looked great the stone looked better than the old driveway alone lol then they paved it and I was shocked what a difference it made I love my new driveway thank all you guys at American USA Paving for giving me a great driveway again

Didn't show up on time! Never completed the job! Charged way too much! Customer satisfaction is a JOKE! They will give you a great story up front and promise you the world but what a rip off! I now have to hire another company to come fix the cracks they left in my driveway and refused to help me with. I would never do business with this company again. Real con artists!

If they're doing a job in your area, one of their team (in my case, the son) will go door to door saying they have extra material left over and can do your driveway at a steep discount. I said consumers are always advised not to do business with contractors showing up with leftover material. He assured me his was a third generation local business. They had enough leftover material from a nearby job to fill the depressed area in my gravel driveway for a reasonable $500. Because it was on my summer to-do list and the $500.00 price was acceptable, I agreed. In no time, he shifted to an extensive $2000 - $3000 job. I questioned how he could have miscalculated the nearby job so much that he'd have material left over to do the full length of my 700+ foot driveway. He then agreed to do the limited $500 job, promising to come back that afternoon. He didn't return. He was scouting the neighborhood for a $2,000+ job. I know, I shouldn't have talked to him in the first place.

These guys are a legit company and i was really happy with the work they did for me. I got three quotes and Mr. Lee and his sons where right in the middle. When they came out, they filled my entire street with dump trucks and equipment. I was very shocked. They did the job perfect and just in one day i had a whole brand new driveway, at an affordable price. I would recommend this company to anyone that is looking to have paving work done.
