Outstanding! We love our basement. It looks like it was finished at the same time as our upper level. Jeremy's team matched the texture, the trim, the lighting, and I did my own painting and carpeting. Excellent quality. When the county HVAC inspector performed their final inspection, he commented "This is the best basement inspection I've done in weeks". Plumbing and Electrical final inspections were flawless. One suggestion: Jeremy provides you a schedule at the beginning. Make sure you read the schedule thoroughly, keep it handy during the project, and go back and review it. We probably added a couple of weeks to our project unnecessarily because we missed scheduling one of the walk-throughs. Our fault. Keep in mind, Jeremy calls this Build Your Own Basement, so you have to stay engaged. This is the primary reason he can keep the costs down, is you are doing some scheduling. Overall, extremely satisfied. Again, I did my own paint and flooring, so you have to budget your time. I highly recommend J&J for a basement refinish. I got several bids and his was the best, and the quality was outstanding.

I highly recommend this company for construction projects. Great communication with owner and workers. Workers show up when they say they will. Excellent work habits, skilled, respectful, and do what they say they will. Owner worked with us from design through permit process and completion in a timely manner. We appreciate people and companies that treat you like they would want to be treated. Can’t go wrong with this organization.

Jeremy was not helpful and had much more criticism than helpful suggestion. Particularly, he seemed to take issue with a tree that I had already told him I was having removed. Fortunately we have multiple estimates, all better than j&j. Even better, another contractor suggested a cheaper more effective plan for what I want to accomplish.

I really like the way the basement turned out. I have an extra bedroom, a wet-bar / kitchenette, a dedicated home theater, and a huge workshop or finished storage. Jeremy handled the first half of the project and then handed over the finishing for me to hire out or do myself. I spent a bit more than I had planned, but that's because I opted for upgraded finishes and hired everything out.

I have been through 6 home builds including a custom home and finished 2 basements myself before starting what I hope is my last. Jeremy with J&J Construction’s bid was significantly lower than the 5 other estimates I received. The project (a full basement to include rerouting the staircase – not a simple task with structural requirements to meet regional building code) included a wet bar, 1000 sq ft game room, extra large bedroom, full bath and an unfinished area for a wood shop with upgraded electrical. I started the project in May 2018 and finished in time for the Super Bowl. Having done many construction projects myself, working with J&J construction was a pleasant experience allowing me the luxury of taking on the pieces I was comfortable with and could finish at my pace. Their subcontractors were top notch again with the flexibility to shop around myself for features I wanted. Anyone considering a basement finish or remodel should include J&J Construction for an estimate!

I used J&J Construction to finish my basement. They did an amazing job! Communication from Jeremy was always prompt and friendly, just like I'd expect from a local, family-owned business. From design to permits to the finishing touches, Jeremy was right there for me the entire way. The "Build Your Own Basement" idea allows you to do whatever work you'd like yourself to save money, and choose the contractor of your choice for the rest. Management is up to you, which I prefer, and Jeremy provides a list of contractors for all work which I still use to this day for random jobs (hail claims, etc). All contractors on his list that I've worked with have been great. I will be using J&J Construction for my next basement and contractors from his list in the future. I won't even think twice about it.

J&J constructions build your own basement program was a great fit for us. It offered us the flexibility to work at our own pace, do certain jobs ourselves to save money, and all with a knowledgeable contractor an e-mail or phone call away if we needed help. As with any large job, there were some hiccups along the way, but Jeremy addressed them and had them fixed with one phone call. I would highly recommend J&J construction.

J&J Construction is great! They do awesome work and do things the right way. We are using them for a complete remodel of our house (including an addition of about 1k feet and rebuilding the front wall of our two story great room) and are nearing the completion of the first phase. The second phase will be to remodel the kitchen and master bedroom (those were the only parts of the house untouched by the first phase since we needed some place to stay). Anyway - very highly recommended! Jeremy and his team are awesome!

Jermey came to my home to estimate a basement, I advised I work 10-7 and would need to meet on a weekend or early mornings. Knowing this for a month he would not Skype or meet in the middle with trying to go over his plan. He then let me know he doesn’t work weekends which is understandable but would not meet early or Skype or anything to make it work.Not a company to work with if you believe in working with the customer.

Jeremy was very enthusiastic about our project. He set an inclusive price upfront, the only outliers were items we added and a support beam which was discovered during demolition and needed additional support added so the pole could be removed. The crews did a great job of cleaning up at the end of each work day. All workers were professional to work with. A delay in cabinetry put our entire project off schedule which added some stress for both Jeremy and us. However, they did their best to work around this delay. In the end we are extremely pleased with the results. The quality and the attention to detail was above expectation. Jeremy was always quick to respond to any emails and has continued to provide support after the job was complete.

The one tip I'd offer for anyone going into it is to really review the timeline and make sure to contact sub contractors as directed.

Jeremy was able to be very competitive in pricing compared to other builders and we were able to save money on certain parts that I could complete myself (Background in Engineering). I would definitely recommend Jeremy and J&J Construction for finishing a basement, especially if you are on a budget and would like to complete some of the work yourself to save money. Overall the experience was great! Just know while working with contractors you are on their time schedule and set your expectations accordingly. With any problems we had Jeremy was able to get them corrected and finished to what we wanted.

J&J did a good job at what we asked for. We needed a contractor for framing, plumbing, wiring, mechanical and drywall. That was all standard in the package and was completed relatively quickly and professionally. His subcontractors did good work and overall it was a very competitive price. Timing for final inspections was a bit more difficult than it could have been, but we were in quite a rush and it required a bit of synchronization. I would hire J&J again.

Summary: J & J Construction has assembled a fine group of craftsman, we are happy with the end result of our project, and will consider using them for our next project. From the beginning Jeremy was easy to get along with and came up with a good design that made good use of the space. He pushed one particular idea that I initially didn’t care for, that may be one of the finest features of the project. Having been involved with construction,builders and sub contractors most of my working life, I appreciate the craftsman he’s gathered over the years. They were pleasant and respectful of our home and project. In two cases we got competitive bids from sub contractors we’d worked with in the past and both times Jeremy’s vetted subs came in less expensive and did good work. As busy as Jeremy was he answered almost every one of my calls personally. Once when he missed a call due to his son’s graduation, he texted me and let he would call me that afternoon if I needed. Construction is a tough business. Jeremy and his folks can help you get through it with a project you’ll be happy with.
