Generally they are really busy and the staff ranges from very helpful to car salesman. I don't know if some of them get commission and others don't but if they are slow I usually get some old white staff dude who follows me and pesters me when I'm just trying to chill. Like I hit my vape then come in hoping to mellow out and maybe 4 months from now buy something when I'm not broke and spending my money at dispensaries. But like fr dude just let me hit this beat pad, vibe out, and escape my depression for 20 minutes. Maybe I'll even buy some strings on the way out. But not now. Now I'm mad and feel like I need to make excuses to leave, like at a family party when everyone starts drunk fighting. Is that really the vibe you want your store to have Guitar Center? Good sodas though.

This was my very first time visiting the store. I was looking for an acustic guitar for my son. The store has a variety of several instruments and also offers classes. One of the staff showed us different kinds of guitars and explained us the differences between them since we don't know pretty much about guitars but my son is interested in learning. My son left the store not just with a guitar and some accessories but with an increase interest in learning how to play thanks to the enthusiastic guy who helped us.

I actually had a great experience here. I imagined this guitar center heavily different from the one in La Mesa, but they have some jewels here that will surprise you I came to get my bass fixed and pick ups upgraded, they were very nice and fast about it. Within an hour they had cleaned my instrumet inside and out as well as implemented the replacement parts.

Guitar center is Guitar center. Just ok. A good place to take a break. Most of the sales clerks don't quite know how to sell which is ok. They try though, so i respect that. It"s probably the highest turn-over music store. I go there every other month or so, always new people...they were actually doing an open Mic night. Some teenagers were playing with the parents sitting like in a school recital style. I think it's a great idea to provide space for young musicians.

By far the most down to earth shop in Memphis for musical instruments. At no skill level or financial level does any of the staff falter in their abilities to provide thorough help to customers. Guitar culture especially has a big issue with snobbery in regards to gear and playing levels, and sometimes that can be intimidating to customers walking into music stores. However, the staff here really goes above and beyond to make every player I see walk through the door feel important and worthy of good equipment. One of the staff, Josh Canon, sold me my first real guitar in 2008, and 11 years later continues to be a great help. Definitely recommend stopping here.

Great variety and selection, and a very helpful and friendly staff. We saw a couple of acoustic drum kits on sale and they were able to help us get the best bang for our bucks. They held a set for us while we went to swap vehicles and bring back the truck since obviously it wouldn't fit in a car. Super staff, and with a drummer in the house, we are regular customers for sticks and accessories.

I'm not sure what happened to the Guitar Center I used to know. Unfortunately it looks like those days are gone. The last time I ordered online I got a remote hihat and it was missing the clutch. That never got resolved and I had to just use a clutch I had from an old hihat. The time before that the drums I got had split and cracked bearing edges and I had to have them recut. This time I got a demo snare drum. It was discounted from $250 to $215 as it needed new heads and snares. Not much off but just barely enough to get heads and a snare. What I didn't know until I got home was that the hoops are bent. These are cast hoops and are very expensive to replace. I emailed guitar center about it and received no reply back. Granted the employee I dealt with was very nice and knowledgeable. I don't think he even noticed the hoops were bent. This isn't the only problem I've had with missing and damaged products from them and it's not the first time they don't want to fix the problem. I give a low rating because nobody at guitar center seems to want to do the right thing for the customer. Ignoring dissatisfied customers and sticking them with missing and damaged products isn't my idea of a credible business.

Managers implement a system that is where tips are spread evenly for the entire shift by designating a supervisor or co-worker to split the tips being counted privately in a back office but in clear view of security camera. Have a clipboard for each co worker. It's a simple reward system for everyone and raises staff moral. You guys can for a individual location just for simplicity by authorization by consent of head manager of the store. I don’t live in the U.S. so from all the negative comment I’d read online or watched on YouTube, I really had very low expectations for my first visit to a Guitar Center store. I have to say it was a very pleasant experience. I’m an acoustic guy and the store seemed skewed towards electrics but they nevertheless had a pretty good selection for me. It’s mostly on the affordable end of the scale but they also had a few nice options from Martin and Taylor at the mid-to-high end, e.g. D-28, D-35, OOO-18, etc. Very polite and friendly staff who were happy to let me sit there for 90+ minutes picking and strumming away.

Fabs and Jayzee are the best. I have avoided Guitar Center for years because the last time I went in, I felt like it was only for people who were really good musicians, and as a beginner I felt pretty intimidated and unwelcome. But I really needed a travel guitar so I gave it another a shot, and everyone was incredibly friendly from the moment we walked in. Fabs was really awesome, helped us find all the smaller guitars and checked in on us periodically to make sure we were doing okay. She was super sweet about passing us off when she took her lunch, and Jayzee stepped in to be just as enthusiastic and helpful. We ended up purchasing a guitar and they were both great about getting us checked out, picking up a tuner for me, and Fabs even pointed out that I had a tuner on my guitar and freshened up the batteries so I could use it! I don't know what changed, but it is awesome. I never write reviews, but I honestly feel like just hanging out at Guitar Center on the weekends now because that's how fun the whole experience was. Thanks, guys!

Several employees were standing around, but none offered any kind of assistance. I just recently moved to Minneapolis from LA and as a professional musician, I’ve been very disappointed with the rapid decline in customer service that Guitar Center has had as an overall company. This is the first GC was be been to in many years where the staff was not only knowledgeable, but very courteous as well. I’ve been to the other 2 guitar centers (the ones in Roseville and Maple grove) and those 2 were horrible to say the least. I’m glad to say it feel like I’ve found a diamond in the rough! I’d also like to add that the guitar selection here is very good!

Seeing that location not up and operating brought me into a state of sadness so I inquired online and discovered that had relocated to Bloomington about 7 minutes from the Edina spot. The location we went to in Bartlett is one of my favorites because their used gear is always plentiful and properly priced. I'd give 5 stars, but have concerns about the diligence of some of the staff. I needed my bass guitar's action adjusted and new strings put on; they said they had a backlog of a week for repairs and mods. 3 days later I get a call saying that the guitar is ready to go. There was no attempts at upselling or anything else that is considered a "typical negative connotation" of GC. Great service in a timely manner. They are moving to a new location soon and I plan to do business with them again.

If you don't have the proper power supply cable in the building and you are aware of that fact, do not sell somebody an amplifier with just any random cable you want. I noticed when I got home and I wasn't upset. They said they would call me back when they ordered a new cable for me. & Now I'm talking pony on a Google review because of the principle of what happened. They have made no effort to call me back. Like I'll just forget and go away. Drift off in an oasis of satisfaction and bliss. This is how it all went down... I go to the store. I see the amp I want. It is on clearance. "Oooo" I said to myself. Thats when the unsub asked me if I tried the amplifier out. I said no. He looked behind the amp (display model) and then looked confused. He said brb and then comes back 15-20 minutes later saying "sorry It took so long". Then we went to the register and I bought it. It occurred to me while I was sitting in my dark gloomy bedroom with a useless brick of an amp that the reason the unsub never asked me if I WANTED TO try it out, is because they couldn't try it if they wanted to. The cable didn't exist. They make commission. It's like micro center.. but with instruments. I love you Guitar Center. But that dude in his upper 20s dishonored you.

Just bought a nice Taylor 12 string. The young gal that helped me, Chandra, was great! She was more interested in getting me the right instrument than in the commission and I really appreciated that. Good selection, lots 2 choose from. Ran into a pro, that was there looking at instruments. My only complaint, is they need one or two more private places to play and try out the instrument here thinking about buying. There was a guy in the room that I was in that obviously wasn't there to buy just to Noodle around and it made it tough for me to really hear the instruments. If you're in the market for a guitar you owe it to yourself to check these guys out.

I bought a used amplifier from a different location which showed up in extremely poor condition. This is obviously no fault of the employees at the Bloomington GC, but within a few hours of returning an amp which was sent to me with broken and missing tubes this location had listed it online in "excellent" condition. I have the impression that somehow no one on staff knows how to re-tube an amplifier or doesn't recognize that it physically will not operate in this condition. Unless this gets addressed someone else is going to pay upwards of a thousand dollars for equipment that no one can confidently say is in working condition. I happily was able to receive a full refund, so I don't feel personally burned, but I guarantee that someone else is going to have the same experience.

I just bought a Music Man Stingray from GC. I'm always intimidated to play and try equipment there because there's always somebody that's way better than me and I don't want to be judged. So, when I got home I plugged in and realized the fret ends were poking out and needed to be dressed. I went back in 2 days later and explained the situation. The staff told me not to worry, they would take care of it. An hour later I was leaving with the fretboard ready to go. I got home and it plays like butter. Great service guys! This is why it's awesome to buy from a brick and mortar location. If I had bought online I would've had to ship it back or pay to get the frets dressed.

Walmart of music stores. The best part of the store is what? Their inventory. The instruments. You can thank the builders for this. GC has nothing to do with this. Also keep in mind that if you buy a $1000 Stratocaster they charge you an extra $50 for intonation, adjusting action and truss. There is no requirement of specific knowledge to work there. Trust me. If you use GC.... use them for their inventory. Do your own research, read reviews, ask knowledgeable people on reddit and other forums, make a list of the products you are interested in, go play them and pick the one you like most. Also be prepared to pay extra for everything. If you want any good advice, find an actual music store that isn’t corporate. Someone who opened a store on the love of music and hires people based on knowledge (because it effects their customers buying and more importantly their musical experience.) They will set your guitar up because they want you to have a great experience. Having a decent guitar that isn’t set up right could make someone play and end up hating it. Just try to find a real music store ran by a musician. It will make a world of difference.

I simply do not like thier approach to customer service. I went to two locations, Beaverton and Clackamas. It felt like I was going to a Wal-Mart, they don't care about you and your needs because it's a huge Nationwide chain. I'm positive all sales associates go through some kind of basic sales training that is poorly managed and probably completed with minimal requirements regarding "customer satisfaction" and "customer experience". I felt ignored, and brushed off, and when I had a question regarding products it seems no one knew any details about what they are selling. I will only shop here again if it is for cheap accessories that I could not get anywhere else, which is not likely. I would suggest going to your local neighborhood music shop if possible... You will get better service and a better experience...

A Guitar Center closer to home! Disregard poor reviews about lack of in-store inventory. They used to be an outlet store, now it's a full fledged store in which you can go and grab a guitar from the wall and try it in a Fender, Marshall or Vox amp. Also has a pedal test station and a friendly staff. Also has a guitar tech in the shop to perform repairs and setups (got my SG done same day!). You can "deliver to store" here, but if they have it in their stock, just call them and they'll lay it away if you to pick up the same day.

I didn't know that their was a GC in that area so I wanted to check it out. So I first read the reviews to see if it was worth my time, and actually it was! Its not a big store like the one in La Mesa, but if you need to save gas, or need some supplies, it actually gets the job done. The drum area its not that bad. But the Drum stuck collection its not that great (thats in my own opinion) they only had: promark, zildjian, and vick firth. They have guitars and bass guitars that you can try out. They don't have hands-on cdjs or ddjs, for the djs put their. Well over all it was ok. So KNOW I KNOW if i need some skins for my drums or I want to buy some cymbals i can just go and check something out instead of ordering it. So i would say, check it out its worth it!

Went in the new location to pickup a Line 6 Pod 2.0 and a used guitar I had on hold. The Pid fired right up and should be fun to mess with, but upon further inspection the guitar was a bit rougher shape than the price suggested so I got my deposit back. No backpack policy. As I am told I need to leave my backpack at the entrance, I tell him to be careful because my life was inside of it (all docs and passport that took me years to acquire, dozens of thousand dollars, and a life time dedication to qualify for those ). He ignored what I said, then he points to the ground by the exit door implying that I should leave my backpack there. Important note: this store is by the boarder with Tijuana Mexico (know for kidnaps, cars broken into, drugs and rough crowd). Summary, the worker asked me to leave my belonging strategically by the exit door of the store which is located in one of the roughest neighborhoods. I felt like the store was a drive through for robbers and I was the goods provider haha. I figured how to comply with store policy and still have my things save. All good here. He offer his help, and I accepted. I was willing to leave behind his disregard for my backpack. No big deal. I asked to try a specific guitar and immediately he says, “we don’t have it”... I believed. I glance at the display and there it was in plain site. (The guitar he said they did not have) He was surprised too and realized he blew up. He stepped away to hang out with his cool co-workers while I still wish he was around to help me. (The store was empty, I was the only customer) Don’t miss the following grand finale: Conclusion, I loved the guitar and said I was gonna take it for sure. The worker gets all happy immediately. Then I finish my sentence “...but I won’t buy it in this store”. The guy gets disappointed as fast as he got super excited hahaha. His cool coworkers laugh at the comical site. I leave the store satisfied for finding the guitar I was looking for and for providing the afternoon. Guitar center stores are good (but pricy) and usually the workers in it are some of the coolest sales person I ever me. However, the experience I had in this store was too good for not to share :). Other than the worker that was meant to help me, the other guys did look like the typical cool people that works in the store :)

Went looking for a left handed guitar nut, they had none. Right handed was $15. They asked me to wait for the 'guitar guy' who could help me but was at lunch @ 3:30 pm, told me they would 'direct him to me' as soon as he returned in 20 minutes. 30 minutes later the 'guitar guy' is helping other people. I approached him and he told me they dont stock them but he could hand carve me one for $100. I don't really feel I needed to wait a half hour to be fleeced. I went in to get my guitar restrung. The gentleman behind the counter restrung the guitar has asked, with a great attitude and a genuine care for my guitars wellbeing. He even took the time to clean it. It looks brand-new!

I've been shopping with them for years. They are the big box of guitar stores so it feels a bit impersonal. Service is professional and helpful. I find the atmosphere a bit noisy so it can be hard to get an idea of what you are buying sounds like. That being said they have a very good return policy.

Horrible service. I was there for an hour and nobody asked if I needed help.. as soon as I came in, my daughter wanted to use the bathroom and the manager said they didn't have a public restroom, bathroim was for "customers" only. I was there to buy a 1700 guitar, after that awful encounter I didn't want to make my purchase there, but unfortunately that was the only store that had the guitar on stock.

Never been a huge fan of guitar centers in general, but the guys and gals at the Beaverton store went way out of their way to help me out by letting unboxing a few items and assembling my basic rig from their products just so I could test this foot switch. Hardly anybody leaves good reviews any more, but I figured these guys deserved a shout out. Good on ya dudes

THIS GUY "ISAHA" MUST REALLY LOVE THE TASE OF RAMEN NOODLES. GC DOES NOT WANT PEOPLE JUST EXISTING ON MINIMUM WAGE. THE SALES PEOPLE NEED TO MOVE PRODUCT & THEY REALLY NEED TO SELL THE WARRANTYS. THE EXTENDED WARRANTYS ARE WHERE THE COMPANY AND SALES POEPLE MAKE THE $$$$. I KNOW. I WORKED FOR BEST BUY FOR 9 MONTHS SELLING VIDEO (BACK WHEN VCRS WERE 750.00 FOR A HI-FI. I MADE 18.00 ON A 69.00 2 YEAR WARRANTY, WHICH INCLUDED A CLEANING PLUS THE % ON THE VCR. I WAS MAKING 15-100.00 PER VCR. BIG SCREEN T.V W WARRANTY I WOULD MAKE 250.00 EASY. THAT WAS IN THE 80S. I WAS MAKING 3000.00 A WEEK, NOT EVEN TRYING. GC IS A TOUGH SELL. YOU BETTER KNOW YOUR STUFF. I HAVE 20,000.00 TO SPEND RIGHT NOW ON AN INSURANCE CLAIM. IN COMMISSION $ AT 4% =1,600.00. That is what he would have made in 30 minutes tops. i knew exactly what i wanted. not a good move on his behalf or the store. i will buy elsewhere send the manager a copy and let them know what they lost that day. i am not going to mention the employees name. he has enough problems in life as it is. stay away from this store. .

The staff here were amazing! Was having s really hard day trying to find a specific microphone and/or adapter, and was having no luck anywhere in the metro area. When we arrived here, it seemed like any other music store, but when my husband asked for what he was looking for, the manager (whom I didn't know was the manager aka our clerk) suggested immediately thinks that could possibly work. There were a couple options do when my husband decided, the manager then also have us a small discount for not having what we were looking for. Really great service! Will definitely return!

The customer service is amazing, there is a dude there named Raphael, and he is so nice and knows almost everything there. Their selection for Guitars are outstanding, no complaints. Everyone there including Raphael are extremely friendly and nice. I highly recommend this Guitar Center if you live in the Minnesota area. Also, their prices are amazing.
