I visit as much as possible.

Edlynn Andrus

Amoeba is a must whenever I am in town. The staff are always friendly, knowledgeable, and more than happy to help you. The selection of records and various other media are endless. Never disappointed when I visit and I always spend too much money on great records!

Jbearproductions 406

A place with so much music it is reminiscent of good old classic record and cd stores

Jordan Lezama

My favorite music store unfortunately relocating as of 2020 - 1 of a kind, legendary, nostalgia, hugest selection, original and truly dedicated to many arts / entertainment in the heart of Hollywood! Mucho Love!!!!

Sheryl Marquez

Love this place. Love to take my kids here. Great variety of music.

Edgar Morales

Great selection of music, friendly staff, ask them ti show you the store, it closes at almost midnight.

Bee

Spent an hour and a half walking around, could of gone a lot longer, best LP collection I've ever seen!

Tiare Hernandez

Love the vibe and atmosphere of this place. Staff is friendly and helpful. Remember to check in your backpacks at the front desk when you get in to avoid being chased down lol.

Daniel Rodriguez

Great place to find great and unique pieces of music. Great place for vinyl records

User Anon

Really good service. Kind and considerate service with authentic smiles.

Scam

Retro vibes, cheap knick knacks and even sought after collectibles abound makes Amoeba a great stop for any tourists, a date, and even seasoned collectors. Season box sets of your favorite shows, Unique stickers and pop culture shirts, even a fully stocked VHS section and of course CDs and vinyls. If you like media in one way or another you're going to find something here that fits your niche. Anime fans, Prog metal nerds, and people who know every line of 'the office' are all represented inside of this bastion of multi form media. Worth your time and not too much of a walk from Hollywood blvd.

Elizabeth Rossetti

I love this place! They have a lot of records you can't find anywhere else at affordable prices. Also, the mini-concerts are AWESOME!! I live 2 hours away from the store, but I do not mind driving all the way here just to see Mon Laferte

Nick V

Last of the great record stores! Been coming here for years. Lots of vinyl records, new and used CDs, random cool books and accessories, a whole upstairs just for buying movies! So much to see and do for a record store. Parking kinda sucks. If you have a big vehicle try find parking in and around building.

Rahul Raghavan

Dream world for music lovers especially if you are looking to expand your vinyl collection. The prices are on par with the market and not cheaper. The sections are well labeled and kept clean. There is enough support staff around the corner to clarify any of your queries. I expected a bit more used vinyls but I guess they don't remain that long when they reach the store. Parking space underground is massive and free for customers. I could easily spend 2-3 hours without getting bored for a moment. There are some rare pieces ingood condition if you research well. They have smartly kept a used book section for anyone accompanying you who might not enjoy going through music or movies. Don't expect any space to sit or rest, guess only true music lovers are expected who don't have any time to rest when they see the massive repository.

Charles Hughes

Amazing selection and awesome free in store performances. There's a reason why it's the last and biggest record store around.

yuh yuh

Always a fun place to go but I wish they had a larger book selection

Dani Rodriguez

Awesome can't believe it will be closing, always good time and good music. They never not have what I am looking for.

Dorothy Micklea

Love grabbing a coffee and coming here just to browse. Always fun and I've discovered a lot of new music!

Caty Gordon

Great selection and prices! Love Ameoba, they have anything you could want entertainment wise!

Benjamin Fuqua

this is easily the coolest record store i have ever been in. expensive, though.

Phillip Solis

No place like this (unless the other one is same). Like a museum. It's time travel if you're over 55 & music ed. for those under. Bought an Elvis Presley LP movie sound track for a buck ($1)!! Where else can that happen, except in yard sale. Much more comfortable in Amoeba's. Visit if you can. This message sent by Don Felipe. No I don't own shares of this company...wish I did.

Derek Ortega

I love this place, there's always so many things to look at....cds, records, t-shirts galore! I can spend hours here every time I go. Friendly staff and a kick-back, chill atmosphere. Free parking but no restrooms! That's the only flaw but I still give them 5 stars. Amoeba ROCKS!!!

Kenny Miles

Greatest Record Store of All-Time! !! Better than Tower on Sunset.. memories :)

Kim Morgan

Great selection of vinyl! And so much more.

Cristina Tapia

Is this the perfect record store? I found 4 records I never thought I’d see being sold physically. Very happy with my experience.

reverse hood

Has most of everyone's taste in music to find what they like to hear and what they want.

Lucas G

Great place. Karen is the most beautiful person that works there. Jd, Rick, many great people. You will find things that you won't find anywhere else! Prices? The best in the whole US

BC Kincaid

A museum of the soundtrack to your life! A walk down memory lane. This place has all the musical chapters of your life.

Woody

Movies, Music, Shirts and miscellaneous Pop-Culture collectibles. Great place!

tee tea

Walking in you feel like a kid in a candy store, overwhelmed with excitement for the new records presented or the old hidden gems you will more than likely find. Bought a cool looking board game and spotted a few others. If you have the time, spend it here. You will not go home empty handed or disappointed and you can cruise home blasting some great tunes, thanks to Amoeba.*Be cautious of the employees they bite*

monty nelson

Best music/ record ive ever been to without doubt. A must see for those who love collecting vinyl, cds, movies, and most things in between.

Melissa Harvey

Love this place. Sad to see its moving

REGINALD STEPTER

If you desire the tactile experience of looking for your music or movies, whether it be albums, tapes, cds, DVDs this is the where you need to go.

Wes Smith

This store is absolutely massive! I probably could have spent hours in there just looking around. From what I could tell, though, the selection tended to skew a little more towards popular music. I found a lot more stuff that I personally liked at a much smaller record store very close to my house, though my tastes can run a little obscure. Additionally, a lot of rock subcategories were shelved in one massive rock section, including, I believe, all metal not classified as "underground metal". The ska/ska punk selection was a little small, but that could be a result of general unavailability. I wouldn't know Lots of casettes—that was really cool. The genres are split up pretty well and pretty intuitively. It was really fun going, even if I didn't really find much that I wanted.

Steve Alexander

Awesome selection of new and second hand vinyl. Come with a full wallet!

Hans Gundelfinger

I love this store. It's such a visual representation of art, music and movies all in one place and it just feels like home. The crew that works here is knowledgeable about everything that they sell and dont judge you for having different tastes or not knowing what they may he talking about. Overall it is always a blast when I go here and despite frequent visits you will find yourself spending a couple of hours in the store just browsing at everything they have to offer. A+ 10/10

Nadoor1980 .

Great place for LPs, CDs and everything music.

Gabriela Fregoso

Better go while you can they sold the property. I'ts gunna go bye bye in a few years!!!

Donna Geiser

Extensive collection of music. However no place to sit for handicapped or seniors. Am 63yo and disabled and they sat me on a folding chair in the middle of extensive foot traffic and by their cash registers because "people took off with their chairs". I felt that I was put on display just for needing to get off my feet for 15 minutes. It would be nice if they took a cue from Barnes & Noble and had areas where you could listen to music and sit and rest for a few minutes. I will just order from Amazon from now on.

Louis Harvey

Cool store, saw a live music performance in store which was awesome. I Heard they are demolishing the building

Phoenix Ash

This place is amazing! It's definitely overwhelming but I found some gems in here. I've never been to such a large record store before. Will definitely make this a favorite stop whenever I'm in the area.

Alex Mena

Great selection of Records, fair prices. I always find something good when I walk in.

Brandon Ramirez

Music is life. This place has it all. All the physical media you can listen or watch and everything you need to play it. Grab a tee or a pin while your here. It's all about the drip.

Matthew Amezcua

Huge selection. Has all the current music and a great selection for much older music. Dwarfs the Amoeba in San Francisco. Sometimes you can find some super cheap albums in the discount/clearance CD area. Good DVD/Blu-ray options. Vinyls are a little pricy compared to other places. My lady and I go all the time. Our favorite place for sure!

TristanMarley

One of the best places to visit and shop in LA. They have free concerts sometimes with big names like The Drums, Buttertones, and I believe Local Natives played live a month ago. This place has a lot of history and it’s going to get bulldozed for a high rise apartment. That sucks.

Steve H

Overwhelming is a good way to describe this place. Theres so much to dig through and discover. I spent 3 hours there and felt like I barely made a dent. Very cool place to shop. Lots of rare finds and signed items

Stu Baker

Been finding rare titles here for 10years. Love it. Best music store in USA

Chloe Warden

It's rare that I go into the store and leave with the exact item that I was looking for. It's always a treasure hunt.

Mark5ky TV

Very cool museum, I enjoyed viewing the old mediums of music, I think they are called CDs, records, and tapes, very interesting!

Santos Ruiz

Find any kind of music in all formats, plan a good amount of time to look around the huge selection of vinyl.

Judelyn Vallesteros

What a great place to check out. Look through the vast collections of vinyls, CD’s, and even cassettes and DVDs. My friends and I agreed we needed more time than what we allotted ourselves when we got there. Definitely going back and spending at least half the day there.

Max Eugene

Good service. Great selections.

Hal Grattan

Great place! Amassing selections. See it at the current location before it goes away. They sold the property and will be moving. This an L. A. Landmark! A place that is old school, like Towers Records once was...... Better Variety here!!

Stacie Larsen

I don't even have a turntable and I LOVE going to Amoeba. It's always playing good music and buzzing with good vibes. I'm a graphic designer, so I love digging through the bins and getting inspiration. The world music section is my favorite. I wish they did movie rentals, but that would take twice the space I suppose. Amoeba is iconic for a reason, and everyone who listens to music should pay a visit.

Mark Bishop

I have been looking for a vintage turntable to replace my father's, that was lost in a fire. After months and months if trying to find a vintage turntable I gave up. I went to Amoeba Music at 6400 Sunset Blvd, Hollywood CA, and was told to see Moana she knew a great deal about turntables and speakers. She did not try to oversell me like so many other people did. She found just the right turntable and speakers that I was looking for. She was so friendly, she made me feel like part of the family. There is no sales pitch with this woman, she's down to earth kind and caring! Not only did she give me a great detail of information about the turntable, but she took the time to help me find THE greatest albums of Etta James, Aretha Franklin, BB King and a few other of my favorite artist. Yes she works at a record store but she knows so much about music. If you don't know exactly what you're looking for go see Mona! She will not point you in the wrong direction, and I promise you we'll leave the store with a big smile on your face, just like I did. I can't wait to sit down and make a list of the next records I want to purchase. I've got to stop by and say hi to her, I've already called her and told her I was on my third album and how much I was enjoying not only the music but the turntable and speakers. I cannot say enough good things about her, stop by and see for yourself and ask for Mona!

Richard Langston

To start with the staff were rude on entry. It seemed like us not knowing how the “hand your bag over” system worked, really offended them. Next the store is really badly set out, with most of the vinyls not in the places the signs say they should be. Despite having such a large range, all five of the vinyls we looked for were out of stock. The sales assistant suggested we buy the CDs instead and was pushing to show us where they were. For a popular venue for vinyls, you’d think the staff would know to drop it if a vinyl customer refused to see the CDs. Finally upon leaving, the staff didn’t even acknowledge us. They kept talking to each other and moaning about their day.

Todd Brickner

I love this place. I have been going since they opened. I highly recommend it to anyone into music.

chicozapataful .

Good selection of all things, massive store

Chanbin Lee

Loved the atmosphere. Bought a CD. Walked around the place for a bit.

Sara J

Great store with so many choices, you could spend hours looking through things. They have both great prices and expensive. Parking sucks if their lot is full.

E M

Love this place. Even if I don't have the three hours I used to spend just wandering around listening to music and thinking about things. Now I only have 40 minutes and whiny kids asking when we're leaving.

Daniel Lara

The best store for your music

Tahseena Kahn

I went there for the first time was probably 20 years ago. Then everything became digital. It's nice to see the store has survived and still exists in the era of digital downloading and streaming. You can buy CD's, records, DVD's, games and etc.

Christine Clement

The biggest and best music shop. New and used dream come true.

Diego Reaño Vargas

The biggest record store around the world! Good place to spend a lot of time finding your favorite artists from all genres and eras!

Yasmin G

You can find old and new movies, CDs, books, and records. I enjoy coming here, they have great customer service and and their staff is always willing to help.

John Nobrega

Great selection of music and hard to find DVDs. Prices are good. Love this place.

jess magana

Rare vinyl records of every genre, posters galore for every taste. Concerts, movies, shows, Psychedelic, Bands, Classic rock posters. You name it they have the poster. Series used new trade it buy. Tee shirts, hoodies. Also of every genre's. Pins, stickers, patches. And the selection of all these things are enormous! I bought a Miles Davies Hollywood concert poster and a Runaways poster. But trust me I could have bought more. Bring music to trade in And shop around with your store credit. Highly recommend for all music Lovers.+++++

Matthew Archer

Always a killer time coming to this place. The record selection is off the chain. There is an endless supply of unique vinyl, and I couldn't ask for more. Everything is in great condition, and I've been able to find some definite rarities.

Jo Schmo

Huge place.Lots of people. And because of that checkout is hella slow. Decent selection but getting some older stuff is an issue depending on your flavor. I didn't find much I was looking for(old W.A.S.P.,Ratt, just to name a couple) Was no 7" rock singles to be found either. ( I asked and was directed to an 80's section and was still none). Super cool place overall though with a good vibe.

Dolly Doyle

What a truly wonderful place there are no longer any stores left that are like Amoeba. They are so large they have something for everyone I found some great VHS tapes of movies that are currently not available on DVD, I also found some nice regular cassettes as well. I come here whenever I can the staff has always been very pleasant to me, love their hours I love shopping here in the evening. It is sad there are no other stores like this other than the Amoeba stores keep up the great job.

Chia MacGregor

Amoeba has a welcoming, chic & gritty vibe. If you love to listen to your tunes via vinyl or CD you've gotta go experience Amoeba for yourself. The prices are super low & the selection is expansive. All are welcome here only prerequisite is a love for music & for your fellow man.

Cornelius Black

The best and most efficient music store on the planet..they have every album from every era available there and they carry many different ethnic and international albums and records as well..

Zaya Armijo

Amazing staff and best selection anywhere. Reasonable prices too. Worth the drive from New Mexico

Matthew Lievrouw - Burgess

This place reminds me of Zia Records back in Vegas, however this is at least 10× the size. Massive selection of music, movies, comics, commectables and more. Live music on specific dates. One of a kind place.

Aly SM

Amoeba is a tourist attraction both in LA and SF but it's so so awesome. I actually spent 2 hours in there without noticing and could've spent more. The staff is pretty knowledgeable and ready to help but the only reason I give it 4 stars is because it's incredibly overpriced. I wouldn't actually buy records here unless you absolutely couldn't find it anywhere else. Like I said, tourist attraction, which means inflated prices; still, it's a music lovers heaven and you shouldnt definitely go at least once in your life.

Shawn King

I hadn’t been in years but it is still the best place to buy music. I’m glad it’s still there!

Danitra Parker

Everything it is supposed to be. Real feel of love for all genres and scenes. It's a Utopia of music greatness and the free shows are amazing!!! Hope it stays alive

Metal Bones

Amoeba Music is real big, but a lot of people go here and I saw one person buy 6 vinyl records. I went here 7 days after " Record Store Day" and all the good limited release albums we're gone. Don't forget the bottom shelf and records on the ground, the ground is overflow when the normal top row is full, I found a limited print Pink Floyd album down there!

CAIFANA C

Massive store!!! Wanted to see it before it gets demolished. Came for Caifanes anything but found nothing!

Zack Delaney

Huge selection of music and movies. There is something for everyone i literally had to stop myself for buying stuff. Also the location in San Francisco is awesome as well!

Brian Parks

Went here just to say i went here. Cool place to hang out and browse. I don't think there is anything music related that they don't have.

Pierre CaliLife

This is a great place to get music or a movie to watch at home... I always find classics at this store

brian tipton

Amoeba - the music Mecca. The temple of tempting physical media. The Cistine Chapel of sound and vision. This place is, hands-down-bar-none the last great record store. All of what used to be an audio or video white whale becomes complacent in this valley of impossible delight. The service and staff are top shelf as well. They always know where everything is or isn't, and keep the checkout line moving at a breakneck pace. A salute to the defunct and disenfranchised record stores of days gone by. A special lonesome pillar of the final days of physical media. Amoeba.

Bob Miles

Love this place. I'm in my mid 40's; your store reminds me of shopping at Tower Records from years ago, only way cooler! And you have live shows, too. I live in Portland OR for me it's not a trip to LA until I get something from Amoeba Music

Aldo Rosas

It’s one of the most iconic places in and around Hollywood, make it a date night by just record shopping, movie shopping and just having fun. They do host live bands sometimes as well as signings and meet and greets.

Trevor Powers

Been visiting ever over 10 years. Every time the employees are unfathomably rude. You can be the most respectful person and they’ll still treat you like dirt. I’m too nice of a person making excuses for them every time (ex. Maybe their parents have an illness they’re very mad at the world etc.). This week was the last straw, and proved to me that you will encounter a rude employee every time. They have a job at a nice place in the heart of Hollywood. The attitude needs to change. All of this stuff you can get online. Make yourselves unique, and give the customers a pleasant experience. This place is like the restaurant in Vegas called ‘Dick’s Last Resort’ where it’s their thing to be rude, and you go into it knowing this, so you have to have a sense of humor. Even ‘Dick’s Last Resort’ will have the decency to give you, “normal” service when they can tell that you’re not in the mood for attitude. Amoeba does not have a sign warning you of this kind of experience. They will be rude to you even when it’s apparent that you’re not feeling great, and would like a nice nostalgic escape exploring music.

Matthew Leach

This is the place you need to go in LA with no exception. Being from overseas the prices of vinyls here are so good and the choice is amazing. I found records that I didn't even know existed! Such a cool shop in a cool part of the world!

Alex Lopez

This place always delivers. The best selection from the biggest artist to upcoming indie artist. The video selection is the best you'll ever see. I love this place and will choose to take the hour drive to Hollywood to always support this amazing place!

Scott Brand

Simply the best; it's a full on immersion into audio and visual art and culture that never fails to surprise. You could literally go every day and find something new and different, what an amazing place!

D&D Explorers

It has free underground parking which is great so you can visit at any time. You can even sell DVDs or CDs, they'll go thru them and let you know what is accepted and offer you cash or store credit. I prefer the credit because I know I'm going to spend it on more movies or on their great selection of music, posters, t-shirts, and so much more.

Ash Rieee

Massive selection. Sometimes there are people performing on the stage, which you can watch or ignore and go about your business if you like. Awesome place though, great energy. Great people. No bathroom for public use!

Melisa Nielsen

Kind hearted. Even though they don't have a public bathroom, they let my 8yo use it. ❤

Delimama

If you love movies and music and are in L.A., you MUST come check this place out!!!

Bumble Chives

An absolute treasure trove of CDs, records, and movies, all old and new. It's no wonder why this is such a popular spot! It's always such a fun experience, albeit a little overwhelming. As an audiophile though, I almost start to drool as soon as I enter the door. This place is always stocked with some of my favorite artists, and if I could buy all of the albums that I like all at once, I most definitely would. I don't recommend going in with less than $30, though. The temptation is much too great to leave without a paper bag in hand. But by all means, please support this store!

Jason Smith

Could spend all day here! Love it! Vinyl addicts unite!

Jay Butler

I mean it's a serious music store. Fun vibes here. If you are looking for something rare, you might get lucky here! Staff is super friendly as well.

Destin Liam Cramer

great free concerts and great music selection. if they dont have it in store they probably will online!

Daniel Jordan

Best record store in Los Angeles by far. It's an LA icon!!! The City of Los Angeles are complete pushovers to let developers tear it down.

Eleanor Dineley

Went while passing through L.A. and I'm genuinely sad I couldn't spend more time there. The vibe is awesome, they have so much variety of music and books and pins and patches too. I hope I get to visit again

Scott Carlin

Massive! They have everything...cd, vinyl, movie, mags, books, equipment... It's all here. Sold some records to them and they paid much higher than the smaller record store near us, thanks to the extra 30% kicker when opting for store credit. Highly recommend.

Jim Darrell

"We can only buy what millennials will buy". I brought six boxes of records in to sell, I left with six boxes. That being said, I still love Amoeba and had a positive selling experience today. I brought in a bunch of records that used to belong to my Mom from the 60s. Unless the artists are still known by today's younger generation, they're pretty much worthless. And don't bother with 78s.

Riley Young

A little over whelming and took some digging to find some amazing gems overall a great experience

Yesenia Cardona

Their store is really big and has so many cool things! They have so much music & the best part is their events they have in the store. This picture is from when the drums went to play free show.

Alenyn Alvarado

The atmosphere here is just amazing, very chill fun vibes. I love coming here for the concerts. Last one I went to was Gary Clark Jr. Now this is the place to catch a very inexpensive concert from headliners. They have variety of media from movies, tv shows, vinyls, cds, tapes. If youre looking for something hard to find they might have it here.

Joseph Pisicchio

For a music fanatic like me this place was heaven!!! Such an iconic LA Staple. This place blew my mind!!!! They have everything under the sun!!!!! from classic to jazz to disco you name it they have it. from 45’s 12 inches to cassette tapes insane!!!!

Don Williams

Great range of different music CDs from all genres and different types. All over Great!

Sandra Keet

This is just the best place in the world. So cool. Great selection of music.

William Steinbach

This place is a music lover's dream. I'm primarily a rock and metal guy and the selection here was the best I've ever seen. However, I don't have space to buy every record I want so I mainly came here for the merch and was surprised by the selection, even though I was expecting there to be a lot for a record store. I ended up getting a sick Jimi Hendrix shirt but what really caught my eye was the book section. For not being a Barnes and Noble this place had a lot of books. There was a ton of great looking rock books and I ended up getting a used copy of Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana that was in amazing condition. My only regret coming here is that I only had about 25 minutes before I had to go catch a flight. I could've spent the entire day browsing Amoeba's collection.

Art P

Great selection. Always fun to visit.

Erin Salyers

This iconic store is huge. Plan on spending hours here if you really want to dig through records and see everything. Employees were great. So many fun other things for sale even beyond records.

Echo Wood

It's a cool store. I don't even really care for music. But there is a small book selection, lots of movies, silly little things. It has good decorations, all spray paint and posters.

andrewssisterfan .

Awesome record store! Great collection of 78's (please don't stop carrying them).

Disc Mogul

Great selection of everything music - vinyl, cassettes, 8-track, CDs, t -shirts, turntables and much, much more

Rudy Morales

Always an awesome place for music that is still alive and kicking as a music store these days..

Tyler Frankum

Great Selection, great staff, very logical layouts and fair prices for good records. The used were cheap, the new and repress were fair on price. All in all, a good visit. Bought many of my favorite albums here. They also have shipping, travel cases and record players for sale.

Jeff Cornette

I LOVE THIS PLACE • The best place around to find your music needs • I tend to find things i wasnt even looking for

Daniel Aragão

Always good to try your luck here. You can find cheap records that's worth a lot. Always in good shape, even the ones in the 1 dollar bin. Good for Hollywood easy listening music and popular Americana.

4me2cu .

Wow! This place is a music lover's paradise. One of the last real music stores that has managed to survive while so many others have perished, and with good reasons. LIVE PERFORMANCES! (Search YouTube to check out some of the artists) Plus... ...they have an extensive, unending music supply in all genres as well as an upstairs movies section. Clerks here and so friendly and helpful. Customers can buy--and even SELL--their items at the register. Media available here includes everything from vinyl records, CDs, DVDs, audio cassettes, VHS video cassettes as well as quality players and select clothing and memorabilia. Come, shop and enjoy an all around greatly entertaining music store experience!

sportsnysf .

I just love this store. There are two floors. The bottom had music and posters as well as other items. The top floor has television hows and movies. They have lots to choose from. They have lots of used items at good prices. They have specials every month. There is free parking.

Christopher Cole

The location is historic, right on Sunset Boulevard, unfortunately the business has to relocate due to the site being bought out to be torn down, and in place of it will be high rise residential property. The store itself is amazing with a huge collection of music and memorabilia.

Marcelo Bendotti

Amazing music and movie selection! They have almost everything at this store. You can spend a few hours browsing through the variety of items. Highly recommended!

Luke Daniel Worle

What more can be said about this exceptionally great and indispensable record store? Not more, except continual light damning praise. Amoeba is a signature business model for music purists who don't want to be financially taken advantage of by huge corporate chains. Amoeba's prices get this right, and things from vinyl to CD to everything in between is priced fairly. The store also caters to all musical demographics, so pretty much any style of music invented (from zither tunes to Finnish shoegaze blackcore) is dutifully represented here. You also get the perks of seeing Amoeba host a wide range great variety of today's up and coming rising talent with their free shows. I've not only caught a number of legendary acts, but also got to chat with others and get records signed. It's a record store that obviously cares about making it about music and community. The staff are always extra nice, helpful and kind, and some of them are tommorow's music stars. Speaking if which, a number if rock stars shop here regularly, so if you see one (or many) be cool :) In closing, best record shop in Los Angeles. Great for buying music, great for hearing music and great for having an altogether awesome shopping experience. Highly recommended.

Alienated Productions

Last know true record movies and cd

Todd Gurvis

Amoeba remains one of my favorite music stores. Their prices might not always be the lowest but it's hard to beat the selection of movies and movies. And their monthly sidewalk cannot be beat.

Mayo Nessa

Great selection of music and great variety of posters and shirts.

Eduardo Rodrigues

This is amazing a place that sell vinyl in our time! Nice library of the music.

Geoffrey D'Unienville

One of the best traditional old school music stores left in the world. Amoeba is an absolute gem and I love stopping here for vinyl whenever I'm in town. Prices are reasonable, although you won't find the bargain basement $10-15 new finds that you sometimes fo online expect to pay $15-30 for most albums depending on vinyl weight and press type

Guillermo Paredes

Fun place for music fans. Been coming since I was young. Last of my favorite music shops (Tower Records and Virgin, RIP). Dig the jazz, blues, soundtrack, and classical section for ambiance. Movie section is the deepest. All the latest vinyl, including the best hip hop and R'n'B section on vinyl.

David Greaves

As close to heaven as i will ever get my eyes have seen the glory and i have been here ever since

Alice Laufer

Just the best music store ever. Everything you heard about it is true.

SacredLust97

This place has it all! From dvds, to vintage shirts, and an awesome music selection that I used to enjoy when I used to go to Tower records. Remember them? This place is great. I come here frequently and I'm never disappointed.

Vlad DuCantes

Amoeba has a fantastic selection of various artists and the vibe if the store is relaxing

The store is enormous. What's interesting to me is how many are still buying CD. This store has whatever youd want. Music. Posters. Buttons. Stickers. DVD. Its outstanding. They also do concerts weekly for album releases. Haven't attended but planning to. Their staff is so knowledgeable as well!!

Had the opportunity to see Silversun Pickups twice in one week, (Weenie Roast) and Amoeba Music. Both experiences were awesome, but at the Amoeba spot you are up and close to the musicians and got to do the meet and greet. I did arrive 3 hours early, after two hours the staff guide everyone into the aisle. It was my first time @ Amoeba for a concert and was well worth it. Thank you for that amazing experience. God Bless..

Amoeba is a really great store with lots and lots of inventory. You can find records, CD's, movies and even cassettes. Their record selection has really expanded as the format has returned to popularity in recent years. The place is usually quite crowded but seeing all the people there is part of the fun. Most of the employees are helpful and quite knowledgeable about the store's selection.

Steven Arboleda

An incredible place with live music where you can find a lot of different nusic from pop to jazz you can find almost everything here.

Great place to find your old TV shows. You'll spend hours at this place browsing around.

Dillon Minasian

I could spend hours here and not be bored. absolutely enormous. you'll be hard pressed to find much of anything they don't have.

We added this place as a quick stop to pick up a CD my daughter wanted to listen to on our road trip. We spent far too much time (and money) in this place. It was a great way to bond with my kid and there was so much to see. The customer service was great as the person who rang us up took time to talk about our music purchases and seemed to really care.

Place brings back so many good memories I loved coming here as a teenager and now I come with my kids. Service is awesome and with their very helpful knowledgeable staff that's a plus! I'll be back.

Marco Del Real

Came here to buy a CD, left impressed with all the variety and availability of records, posters and different music players.

Amoeba Music, more often than not, has what I'm looking for. I like going there because I know that I'm usually going to find my music and my movies. Parking is iffy but there are a couple of parking lots located nearby. There's street parking, but good luck with that. The staff is always courteous, helpful and they know their stuff. The variety of music and merchandise is wide. We picked up music that ranged from Marvin Gaye to The Clash to Marilyn Manson. Don't judge us.

Tony Gomez

lexas gadison

The greatest selection of music. Vintage and relevant merchandise from any decade. Highly recommend it.

Alan Sobrino

Best record store in town. Amazing staff and also great shows.

Luciano De Pazos

Wow. This place has everything. I could spend a days looking around and shopping here. I love the selection of music and movies.

Tatsuya Enomoto

Great place for digging. Huge selection and staff are very friendly. Shame there is no listening station so you can hear before buying. Could spend hours just browsing in this store and finding many hidden gems.

Caio Prendini

A great place to shop records! I was expecting more used stuff (original records from de 70’s and 80’s), but many of them were new releases. The store has a variety of records that I’ve never seen it! As a Brazilian soul fan, I found it this Tim Maia record that it was only launched outside Brazil, and they had 2 copies! Really amazed about the store! TIP: It’s not a bargain to shop the vinyls in there, so be prepared to spend some bucks.

Lars Kuhlmann-Courtwright

There probably aren't many places like this anymore, and there probably won't be for much longer either! Experience the joy of putting a CD you've never heard before in or spinning up the vinyl for the first time you won't find a selection like what they have many other places. Not to mention the perfect atmosphere for searching for music too!

SEAN GONZALES

Such a large selection and a good pink section.the jazz and folk section is enormous. They have such a good over all feel. Too bad the building was bought and they'll be moving. Feels like empire!!

Andrew Williams

Pack an extra credit card for this temple to music. The great news is that there are definitely bargains to be had. We spent more than we intended but walked away with loads of great finds, many in the three to five dollar price bracket. Very knowledgeable staff who are keen to help without condescension.

SKYWOLF GBM

Thi is one of the last great places to find old vinyl, dvds, music cds, and many more.Sometimes finding parking is a hassle but if you are patient it's all good..

jmThirdBass .

Amazing selection! Easy to lose hours shopping and browsing here. Two stories of cool and unique finds!

Sean Callahan

The only thing not to love about this place is the return policy. I feel that if you can return it unopened you should be able to get full store credit. I was buying as a gift and had to hope they didn't have the albums already.

Chris K

What can I say about music heaven with my mere mortal selection of words? As a person passionate about music and vinyl, this is nirvana for the soul and senses. An amazing organization and selection of all genres at hand, which I would happily finger through all day and all of the night eight days a week. Alas, I was only visiting an LA woman a little while, and was leaving on a jet plane, flying high, and time has told me I couldn't spend the time I wished here. But I'll be back again. Don't know when, but hopefully I'll be blowin' in the wind in that direction soon. Tomorrow never knows.
