I don’t not recommend these clowns! I had them recommended to me by our realtor for cleaning and inspection of our heating system. They came and did the inspection, never sent me the report and they called me a day later wanting me to pay them. I told them I was not going to pay them until I at least get a report. After constant calling for days the inspector finally submitted the paperwork so I could have access to it. The inspector said we needed to have a specific clearance from the ceiling to the water heater which our water heater did not have. We had the water heater professsionally installed less than a year ago and the contractor said it meet the specifications for Eagle River. The clowns at Discount Mechanical said it didn’t so we couldn’t sell our house until it was done. Our contractor went back to our house and took the sheetrock down in the garage and showed them the floor joists do not allow for the specific specifications that discount mechanical are demanding and there is literally no possible way for it to meet this specification. Finally Discount Mechanical decided to call the city and the city person in charge of things like this said, in Eagle River almost all houses are that way and our water heater was fine. So after weeks of screwing around and hundreds of more dollars spent we actually had to do nothing to our water heater. Shouldn’t the inspector that is licensed to come and inspect your house know that? Next they said our furnace was bad and we needed a new one. They quoted me $3600. I thought that was expensive so I called 4 other companies and they were from $2700-2800. So I told this to Discount mechanical and they said oh sure no problem we can match that. Wow! Just like that you can go down almost $1000. They apparantly are screwing people by charging way more for the work than other companies. Then they said I needed an 80k btu furnace when all 4 other companies said I could easily use a 60k btu and really only needed a 50k btu furnace. Finally I agreed to a specific 80k btu furnace with them and they were to install it the next day. Turns out they couldn’t do it for a week but since I called them they bumped it up to 5 days out which was a day before I was suppose to close on the house. Then they came and installed it and I got the charge for the furnace. The receipt they gave me said they installed a 100k btu furnace so I called them up. After much confusion on their part they finally got back with me and said they did install the wrong furnace. On all the paperwork it said to install an 80k btu furnace but for some reason their tech installed a 100k btu furnace. By the time this confusion was resolved the house was sold and their manager called me back and wanted to go back into my house to take out the 100k btu and change it for the 80k btu furnace. I told him it isn’t no longer my house so sorry. So from the front desk, to the techs, to the inspectors, to their parts department, and to the management I would not recommend these clowns!! Terrible job and business!!!

Awesome experience... I’m so grateful for Discount Mechanical! I was fortunate to have new high efficiency furnace and hot water heater installed by this great company in February 2018. Not knowing exactly how “high efficiency” works I made a 1 year appointment to have both serviced and expected. Shawn, (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) the service repair technician took the time to help me understand the basics of operation and what service work needs to be completed to maintain my heater and furnace in a user friendly way (I had no clue!) Everything about my experience was top notch, from making the appointment , to being contacted by Shawn when he was on his way to my house, to his expertise and patience helping me understand the basics, and to the price! Which gratefully I was given a 10% discount by mentioning their website. Thank you Discount Mechanical. As long as I own my home - you’re company will always be the one I call!! Thank you!

I had a water leak in my master bathroom. Kelly and Tucker came out explained what they needed to do and ensured everything was fixed correctly before leaving my home. These two men were knowledgeable, professional, and pleasant to work with. They listened to my concerns and offered suggestions to prevent further damage. I would highly recommend them for any repair work that needs to be done. Thank you again to Kelly and Tucker for making it so my girls and I have a safe home to be in.

I have to use them because of my HSA home warranty. Their after hours service is a complete joke. Their service in general is very sub par and the contractors I’ve had sent by them are very incompetent. I’ve had them come by and make 3 repairs on the same item. Would not use if I wasn’t forced to.

Woke up to a boiler not working, Discount was not able to diagnose properly and ended up costing me more money in parts and time than it is worth to get the discount on their service. Very dissatisfied with this company. Best to avoid if you want the job done right the first time.

I gotta say, when my HSA home warranty sent me a "discount" provider, I wasn't exactly enthralled. The initial tech who came out on a Sunday for my boiler was younger and a bit inexperienced, but he was very nice and seemed to know what the problem was. Part would be available next day. The next day, their highly experienced tech came out and replaced the first part, but discovered another issue that the 1st tech did not. I was without heat and hot water so I was getting a bit impatient. He said they would likely have to order the part, but he was going to check around. I was pretty steamed because I needed a shower and I was flying out of state that night. I didn't want my house sitter to be without heat and hot water, but it looked pretty grim. 2nd tech left and said he would probably have to come back the following day if they were even able to find the part. Their office manager, Latoya, phoned me and let me know they were working on getting an entirely new mother board for my system, but it wasn't guaranteed to be a part stocked in town. It could be up to another 3 days before the part could be shipped in. I was seriously ticked at this point. She was so sympathetic and understanding. She never escalated my frustration or anger. Within an hour or so, they surprisingly located the part, sent the tech back out and after a couple more hours I was up and running. I went 3 days without heat or hot water, mainly because my home warranty didn't deem it an emergency and didn't send someone immediately, but also because the initial diagnosis was incorrect (part of my frustration with Discount). I understand that less experienced techs cover the weekend shifts, but it just added to the wait. They made it right and Latoya was SO PROFESSIONAL. THANK YOU FOR KEEPING YOUR COOL!

Our heater died on Christmas weekend and we tried two of "the other guys". They both blew us off. The dispatcher at Discount got us in touch with a tech who came first thing Dec 26 and fixed our boiler in 30 minutes. Outstanding service, quick and easy quotes, and friendly staff.

Terrible company. Unprofessional, incompetent service providers. I had to use them through my home warranty, which I have now cancelled due to the awful service. Discount Mechanical lied to the home warranty company, saying they went to my house for a service appointment and I missed it. Absolutely untrue-they never called to make an appointment. Was charged $75 for this. I also had this company come several other times and they were unable to diagnose the problems, finish the work on time, or use professional language. STAY AWAY from this company.

Have had some ok service with these guys when a home warranty company called them out. One thing I was not impressed with was this company did the inspections and servicing of the heating systems when i purchased my fourplex in April. They put stickers on three of the four furnaces with dates saying they had been furnaced. In October the one unity they did not sticker a tenant had her carbon monoxide alarm go off and she called the fire department. They identified the old furnace as a probable cause and asked when i had it serviced last. I told them 6 months ago in April when i bought the place. I called another more reputable company to come look at the unit. The technician was over there for two hours cleaning the burners and the furnace. He said it had obviously not been cleaned in years. When i called discount Mechanical they told me the unit had been cleaned in April because they have the serial number written down by thier tech from that date. The secretary claimed it was "human error" that he did not sticker the unit but insisted it was cleaned and that i should have it serviced every six months. I asked her why and how it would get that dirty between April and October when no one runs thier heat that much. Anyways these guys are obviously around because they are cheap and like i said they have done some ok work over here but this experience rubbed me the wrong way. I wouldn't recommend them there are better contractors in town and what money you save with them you will probably end up spending down the road fixing thier work.

OMG, I only went to them because my home warranty company made me use them. My heater/gas boiler went out in October. It is 2 months later and they still haven’t fixed it. They keep saying they will come and they don’t. They keep saying they will call and they don’t. Also cannot get ahold of my HSA home warranty company to report them . HOW do companies like these stay in business. Unbelievably unreliable and now even if they do show up I don’t trust that they know what they are doing. If it weren’t for my handy man friend who kept jeririging my boiler, I would have had no heat, no hot water, frozen pipes and no house to live in. Essentially I have no home warranty even though it’s been paid for and I paid my deductible to Discount Mechanical. All for nothing. Please do not hire these people or get a home warranty from HSA.

After 3 visits for one issue, the technition did not arrive in the time frame window and also didn't call. Upon speaking with the office relating to our dissatisfaction, not much accommodation was made for us. As a landlord of multiple properties, I would not recommend them to anyone.

Came out twice to fix a leak, did not fix it, charged us twice and lied on their records saying they did a follow up inspection and the problem was fixed, when they didn't and it was not. The owner refused to speak to us about the problem and instead had his employee threaten us with collections if we dont pay for....im not even sure what we are paying for as they didn't touch anything and the problem isn't fixed....when we have yet to receive an actual invoice at all and its been just about a month. Discount Mechanical was recommended to us by our HSA home warranty provider for a leak we have in our bathroom plumbing. We first contacted Discount Mechanical in January 2016 for this leak and they came out, told us the problem was the overflow valve, tightened it, left and we paid for the repair. The house was vacant the next couple months as its a rental property and when we had tenants check in in June they reported the same leak again. Discount Mechanical came out and assessed the leak, determined they could not recreate it, did not fix anything, and then began calling us for pay for the service. I have asked repetitively why I am being billed for the same problem they did not fix the first time or the second time the only answer I am given is "because its been over 6 months since we were there last". The reason for my complaint today is when called about this issue again today I asked to speak to the manger or owner and he refused to speak to me and instead had his employee tell me if I did not pay today they were going to send it to collections - the problem here being, i have yet to receive an invoice for this service at all, they have false information in my file saying they came out and did a follow up after the January service and the problem was fixed, when they did not and it was not, and they are now changing me twice for a problem they have never fixed...and sending to collections apparently when I didn't receive an actual invoice until today and I had to demand one, a full month later.

There were some initial bumps, but the ultimate end deserves 5 stars. I called Discount Mechanical to come check on my hot water, as it had been waning since the Nov. 30th earthquake. I didn't want to pay the emergency charge, so the soonest they could send someone out was the day after Christmas. Sean arrived and did the inspection of the situation. What he found was not good. The earthquake had caused my tank to rupture and rip the exhaust vent so the heat was venting into the tank's own space, and the water was spilling out of the bottom. Sean turned my water off and left to send me a quote for repairs. I received the quote and agreed to the charges for the work and new tank. I called and told the office I wanted the work done, so they would schedule a time for someone to come and do the install/ repair. They called back and said the soonest they could show up would be Jan. 9th. This would mean I'd be without any water, cold or otherwise, for 16 days. I plead for a sooner time and the lady said she'd see what they could do, she'd call me back. When I did get the call back, it was good news. They could send a crew out on the 4th. This still 10 days, but way better than 16. On the 4th, the crew arrived at around 12-ish and began the job of removing and replacing the tank. They finished around 4-ish. I noticed that the water was very low pressure and the hot water wasn't hot. The technician told me the pressure would increase over time. It didn't. I waited until 8pm that night and called back explaining the situation. I was told to wait for a call back from a technician. The tech that called me told me that I must have another problem. I said I need it fixed please. He told me someone would get back to me about that. It was the next day, the 5th when I called around 10am. I told the answering service person I had just had my water tank installed and needed it to be operational. She said she'd get someone to call me. I waited, but had to call back. By this time I was willing to pay the overtime charge just to have someone come over and resolve the issue. I eventually got a call from a tech and said he was on his way after he finished his current job. I'm a praying man, and I prayed that I would be sent a technician that knows what he is doing, so the problem would be fixed. I believe in prayer! When the crew arrived, they went to the back where the tank is and did their evaluation of the situation. Short story.... I was up and running in 10 minutes. Hot water YES!!! Strong water pressure YES!!! When I said what do I owe, the tech said the boss said nothing for now.... so... it took a little while, but ultimately I was fixed, and everything is working fine. Thank You Discount Mechanical.

IF YOU ARE USING HSA HOME WARRANTY, REQUEST TO BE SCHEDULED WITH LITERALLY ANY OTHER COMPANY BESIDES DISCOUNT MECHANICAL. Besides being two and a half hours late, (I had requested a half day of work, two weeks in advanced, because the receptionist insisted that the plumber wound need 2 hours at least to fix my problem) the guy takes one look at my toilet and says yeah it's clogged, we don't do clogs (you would think the receptionist would have mentioned that when I scheduled the repair). Besides missing out on half a days pay, the man still demanded I pay him for the $100. I complained and said he did nothing besides get my floors dirty, and was 2.5 hours late on top of that. They would send me to collections if I didn't pay. They said I have to pay it because my HSA requires it. THIS IS A LIE. I called HSA and filed a formal complaint about this company and they told me that under no circumstances would they expect me to pay my deductible if no services were performed. IF YOU'VE HAVE A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY REPORT IT TO BBB, I did.

When our alarm for carbon monoxide made us evacuate our house waited for the fire department to tell us if its safe to get in the house again. We called the home warranty and sent us a person from this company. The first person told us that he just did something and its all good. Then that night the alarm turned on again and we evacuated again. And then again the home warranty sent another person from thia company ended up saying that there is nothing wrong with the boiler. And told us that it might be the appliances. On the 4th night of this alarm turning off someone from the gas company actually figured out whats wrong and its the boiler. This company couldn't even figure it out. How can they fix things they don't know. And thank god our alarms work. What if it malfunction on those days that they said its ok. We could have died. I'm really disappointed.
