Waiting for an hour and a half for appointment. To be fair, it was a walk in appointment, but if we were given right estimate we would walked around the Town center or have lunch and come back. Instead of it every 20 minutes we were told that someone will take care of us in 20 minutes. Guitar music playing in the store is annoying as hell

I am not an apple fan. In fact, I can't stand their products or their software practice of slowing down phones because it help preserve the battery. So why the 5 stars? My daughter has an iPhone 6 and it has had several problems with the battery. We made an appointment to have the battery replaced because the phone would no longer charge or turn on. The day of the appointment, I received a call and was informed that no batteries would be available for a week or two and that they could diagnose the phone over the internet. After explaining that the phone no longer boots, we were told to keep the appointment so they could diagnose the issues there. Once at the store, the technician was able to get the phone to boot but offered my daughter a replacement phone for the cost of the battery. He was certain that with the software issues that the phone displayed that the new battery would not resolve the issue. I am a huge fan of great customer service and that is what we received. They made my daughter happy and this makes me happy! The least I could do is leave an appropriate review and to say thanks!

i went it on a sunday.my iPhone was breaking.and the store was very busy.now I could tell I will be ignored or not helped.i did approach a sales clerk (in most stores people usually should be approaching you)however I could just tell that he seemed annoyed by my presence. I told him about my phone and that I would like some help he told me that too bad but its way too old and its time to replace it.i wish he would at the very least showed some empathy. overall I avoid going to that store due to the fact that I often feel ignored and dont feel welcome at all.so I just purchased a phone from somewhere else.doubt ill be back.Another thing is I wish they had more people working esp on the busy days.

I went for something simple and it was far less personable than any other Apple store I have been to. I have all Mac products and I am a retail manager. This was not the first time at this location. It just so happens to be the closest to where I reside. I would drive further for a different better experience. From what I expect the Apple store to be, is the experience and the personal touch. This was basically order g a cheeseburger at a random drive-thru. I don’t do that either. Just sad really. For such a good product. That is the best this location can do?

I took an appointment and had to wait 20 min before the tech came to me. And the thing that upset me the most was the tech ( a guy with glass and goatie beard) was always just wanting to leave. Being a loyal customer for almost 6 years this has never happened to me. Second of all after reformatting my phone the same tech handed me over a phone to called the iphone customer care and fix my issue. Tell me why the hell would some drive an hour and half to get their phone fixed by a professional if they are NOT INTERESTED. This young man managed to vanish and when i asked another tech out there (she had long hair do not remember hair name) . With full of attitude she dismissed my problem. I was in an unknown place with no contacts on my phone. Extremely dissatisfied as I did not go to buy a phone no one wanted to help as it was FREE. Shame on this store for not valuing their long term customers. I will find a way to report to the head quarters and this is ridiculous. Thank you really for ruining my weekend.

I had purchased an Apple phone and after all the upselling features and insurance was added on, the total price came to just under $1000. I thought about how this was a ridiculous amount to pay for a phone so a couple of days later I returned it and purchased an Andriod phone online for about $200. They do have a great sales staff here though; very professional, polite, and helpful.

10 calls and on hold for 2 hours, disconnected twice while on hold, to check on the status of a repair that’s 3 days late. Store closed on a little skiff of snow so I had to reschedule my 1st appointment after driving 20 minutes out of my way and taking time off work. The next appointment wasn’t for a week later, so now 3 weeks without my phone.

Took in my daughters iPhone 6s to have the battery replaced and they would not replace it because the tape on the battery was disturbed. No issue, I understand they don't want to be responsible if the phone was touched by a non-apple person. So we took it to a local Batteries+ and they asked who had opened the phone. The repair guy said it was a mess inside. Three weeks later my daughters screen malfunctions, the backlight died. I opened up the phone and found a lose screw inside that was nowhere near the battery. It was a screen attachment screw that was for whatever reason removed and not reinstalled properly. This screw should not have been touched to replace a battery. It turned out the backlight was damaged and I had to replace the screen. Three months and the phone works fine. They also lost one of the two external screws near the charger port. No reason to take a device into the Apple Reston store if they can't be bothered to put a phone back together properly. I don't mind the restrictive battery replacement policy but if you are going to tear up a phone and leave lose screws inside the device and loose a screw you should not be touching peoples expensive apple devices.

They are becoming worse and worse in their service especially if u r an old customer..they are very nice and friendly if u r buying something but if u are going for any service or repair..they will treat u differently amd5make u wait for hours and hours even if u go for walk in service..coz their priority is to get new ones not to help the old customers..

All I can say is Thank God I dint do business with them. Especially the guy who makes appointments with his glasses on, so RUDE and ARROGANT. He will not be acceptable even in 7-11 stores . I wonder how he got a job in Apple Store. In the past 3 years, I've gone to the Apple Store on several occasions for my phone. I was having an issue with my mac for the first time & I made an appointment to have it looked at. Courtney was very kind and helpful and she spent almost an hour getting it fixed & she even made sure that everything was running fine so I wouldn't have any issues coming home. I received such amazing service on a Saturday night! Thank you Courtney :)

This Apple Store is the worst one I've been too; I bought laptop here after 2 weeks it stopped working they sent it out for repair after several days or linger can't remember exactly... I finally get the laptop back; it works 3 days and doesn't work now.... I didn't spent 3k to waste days driving back and forth to apple. If Apple can't make products that work why should I pay top dollar to wait for Apple to repair it? I bought a new computer id expect it to work perfectly for at least 1 year

Walked in this evening, got my name & number on a waiting list, were told it would be 30 min wait time ...walked around Reston until I got a txt asking me to return to the store! Walked in , showed them the txt then were told to sit at a table & wait to be called - waited an other 15 min until some nice lady came & tried to help me. She couldn’t fix or find the problem with my Apple watch , she did everything she could no luck to get the darn watch to power up. She then asked for proof of purchase when I pulled up a copy of the the invoice , with the date & transaction she asked for a proof w serial number ! I had the original box , all the parts & power cord. At this point we have been there for an other hour. I told her the watch was purchased at Best Buy & I tried calling them to get the serial number ... the whole situation was just a total mess! I had no more patience after an other 20 min on hold on the phone with Best Buy trying to get the serial # I decided to walk out without resolving any issues ( my son was starving) . Total waste of a beautiful Saturday Night! Thank you Apple Reston for nothing! So frustrated especially because my watch was purchased only 10 months ago & it stopped working on its own, no damage or anything that I have done to it caused it to stop working! Could use some real help & some customer service !

Apple Store in Reston Town center is great store to visit. Although it is very busy most of the time, I can get more than one thing done while I visit this store, like enjoy the dinner at Big Bowl or if it is morning time, I like to stop by at Panera Bread for a bagel and coffee. People at Apple are nice and polite. (At least the ones that I have dealt with). I would recommend this place.

The employees at alot of these apple stores do not have manners. I've seen it worse at this one. I experienced horrible customer service, discrimination and racism, all in one visit and every time I come to this Apple store it is the same thing.

I told the clerk I wanted an iPhone 7 and a gift certificate for the equivalent amount. He asked me what color I wanted for phone. I told him. He brought me a bag with a gift certificate and had me sign a reciept. I grabbed the bag and started to leave. It was empty. Then the clerk pretends he doesn't understand I ordered a phone. This is after getting slipped coming in because the clerks expect you to walknup to them like a court, then standing around for 20 minutes with no one knowing what's going on next because there's no visible line, there's no known number system, there's nobody calling names. Another waiting customer said the clerks were writing down physical descriptions in their tablets to keep track of customers by name and appearance. This is the only store with a stupid mosh pit format I will shop today. And that's the last Apple product ever purchased by this reviewer. Made by factory slaves in China anyway.

Sunday. Counted about 14 sales people on the floor. The store is not particularly busy. Been waiting for 10 minutes for someone to afford me the opportunity to leave my money with Apple, still waiting... That’s pretty frustrating. I could have bought this product at Best Buy in 2 minutes. They actually care about selling to their customer (and I have to say I did not set a high bar with BestBuy). This “consultative” sales model has to go. It does not work. Gone to BestBuy to buy the same product. Wasted about half and hour for nothing.

I just had a conversation with one of the store leads Carmen Fernandez and I can say she is horrible. The way she treats the customer is the worst I have seen in any apple store. She is so motivated to charge customers even there is a flaw in the device. I have an xs max which has a rough edge and they say it’s a physical damage. Piss poor customer service. Stood there for 15 minutes, wasn’t that busy, couldn’t get anyone to help me. Employee asked a lady if she needed help, she said no, so then I ask for his help. He said hold on let me check the cue and walks away. Other guy comes up and asks what I need... I wanted to buy a watch, guy said there are 3 in front of you and walked off. This store has gone way down hill the past 12-18 months. I live next to it but will go somewhere else.

Went here for a swollen battery on my Apple watch. The employees were completely in the dark that this was even an issue and basically dismissed my concerns. They just blamed me for cracking the screen and wanted to charge $230 for a replacement. I spoke to a manager (Keith, I believe) who appeared to know even less, and was even less helpful, than his original staff member. In the end, I just walked out and called Apple Care. They were immediately aware of the issue and offered a free replacement. Bottom line, skip this store and just go to Tysons where they know what they're doing, or call Apple Care directly.

Got here to get a new phone. We’d done all our research ahead already. We were told to put our name on a list, and then that expected waiting time was “20-25 minutes”. After more than 30 minutes we asked how much longer, and the answer was “about 10 mins”. Another 30 mins later, we asked again: “there’s still someone ahead of you”, followed by an uncalled for snarky “we’re doing as best we can with the resources we have” (which apparently isn’t true; the expected wait times should reflect that, but they clearly didn’t). Hence, after waiting for over an hour, we left - we’ll give our business to T-Mobile.

The store is consistently busy whenever I go, but I'm unfailingly greeted by someone and directed to further help with whatever I'm there for. Techs at the genius bar are knowledgeable and helpful, and seem to try to work to minimize repair costs when things break. Despite the crowds I'm generally in and out of the store as quickly as I'd like to be.

Went to Apple Store in Reston with a stubborn Malware problem. Walked in with my Macbook just to buy a hard drive to do a backup. That's when Genius Bill Merchant asked me what issues I was having. I told him and that's when he sprang into action - we opened up my Mac and he started racing through all my settings and files. It took about 20 minutes but he got rid of my problem, helped me install a Malware detector and got me started on my backing-up with my new hard drive. Bill, thank you for perseverance in solving my problem!

I recently bought an Apple Watch at the Reston VA Apple Store; it was one of the best buying experiences I've ever had. I was greeted at the door and led to sales staffer who got my watch from the storeroom. I was then handed off to a pleasant and well-informed specialist who spent a good half hour helping me set up the watch and get it paired with my iPhone. This is a great way to buy tech.

First off, I dislike Apple. I dislike all Apple products. I really don't like anything about Apple. The only reason I went to the store was because my friend's cell phone broke and we had to go there to get it fixed. We waited at least an hour for the replacement phone that she ended up getting. I guess it was worth it for her, but I just don't usually have that kind of time. I've been to this store on several occasions with that same friend and her problem phone and every time the store is slammed! There are just people waiting everywhere for help on buying something, for help on getting something fixed... It's just a madhouse. What I will say though, is that the people are very friendly and helpful and when tempers run high, which I saw on at least one occasion, the employees maintain their cool and remain completely professional.

I made appointment and went there for a battery change for my 5S , two hours later they told me they found a red dot and they did not replace the battery since that is a sign of corrosion. The whole thing: genius bar and the staff going around with their ipads is just a circus to sell more iphones. I replaced the battery at "battery and bulbs" for 59.99 and none of that BS and red dot came up! these guys don't want to deceive you , they just replace iphone batteries in 20 minutes. make appointment online and pay 59.99

Very annoying! We go in with the problem of horrible battery life on two Apple 7's that otherwise were working perfectly fine. They still charge you $35 to replace it though. Then as they were replacing it, they broke a manufacturing defective display screen cable. They tried to charge me for it! I argued and they removed the charge. But also, I had just replaced my screen protector before I brought it in and that was broken in the process of repair. They didn't offer to replace that because they made me feel lucky that they replaced the display for free. Typical Apple!

Can’t even get someone to pick up the phone. Try to make an appointment but the website is so confusing I gave up. Walk-ins take up to 2 hours! I don’t even want to be coming in here but have been having SOOOOO many problems with our iPhone 6 and 7 that I don’t have a choice. Second visit in 3 months. My son switched to Samsung a few years ago and LOVES it. We have only ever had iPhones (since 2010) but I am to a point where I think I’m about ready to give up. Oh and in addition to all of this frustration you have to pay $3/hour for parking now. It used to be free. FRUSTRATING!!!!

I was very skeptical at first one because I just bought my daughter the new iPhone RX and spent $800 for it not to work and had to take it to the Apple store in Reston to see if they can fix it. when I arrived there was several people in the store it was very crowded and busy but they spoke to me right away, as soon as I open the door and got to us within 10 minutes it only took about 30 minutes to fix the problem. One of my worst experiences ever in the USA. I think this company has become so arrogant that they forgot that at one point their entire stock was worthless. These apple geniuses in the store looked at me as if I was a criminal. One day, my wife's iPhone suddenly started asking for an activation lock user/password. This phone was bought by us 3 years ago and it was right of them to ask for some security related questions. The problem was that my wife has forgotten the apple id password that was originally used and we were ready to prove to them in other ways that we were the owner. This store absolutely refused to give us the benefit of the doubt even when we showed them that we had 3 iPhones, 2 ipads, 1 iPod and I MAC. Even this did not convince them that we were not criminals. I have been waiting for 1 month for this problem to be resolved and it is still not resolved. Amazing ... Is there any Apple geniuses who can solve this problem ? I am sitting on a $399 phone which is now worthless. The Manager was clueless individual who smiled the whole time without offering any solutions. I am not there to be smiled at. I want a solution to my problem.

Let's start with the positive, the store is convenient to my home. While I would love to leave it at that, you should know that depending on who you get synced up with, you may get a condescending smart a$$ who thinks he is truly genius while you are not. There seems to be a lot of people, at times, with iPads and ear sets communicating with each other instead of you. Not the culture I would expect. Sorry, Apple Reston. Reluctant to even go there again.

Worst apple store I have ever been to. I visited the store today. Went to pick up my online order for an iPhone case. Not friendly staff and no proper greetings. I had to wait for a while for someone to come help me. They took my name and said someone will be with me shortly and was asked to stand aside where there was no clear line. Nobody showed up for about 15 mins. I had to leave the store without my order. I am going to cancel the order and buy it somewhere else like Best Buy who have good customer service. Bad Apple

My son and I recently visited this store for an iPhone 8 Plus repair. After speaking with Miles, he let us know that the phone would be replaced with a new phone under the Apple Care service. Then we found out that, due to a technicality, it seemed that the phone was not setup with Apple Care with our T-Mobile service provider at the time of purchase. This didn't seem right. That's when Dustin, store manager, saved the day. As a former T-Mobile manager, he assisted in contacting T-Mobile directly to sort out the issue. Confirming that the phone did qualify for Apple Care, we walked out of the Apple store later that day with a brand new iPhone 8 Plus! Thanks again!!

First of all, if you're looking to take advantage of the $29 battery replacement don't make a "Genius Bar" appointment and expect it to happen. The stores will not have a battery for you and you'll be wasting a trip. Contact Apple Support, they'll order a battery for your device (based on the serial number) and ship it to the store and notify you when it arrives. (Current estimated wait time is 2-5 weeks.) As far as the Reston store itself, it's a perfectly fine store. However, getting to the store is pain in the butt because of its location and having to pay for parking with the RTC App. You're better off going to the Tyson's Corner or Fair Oaks Mall locations.

It is Apple, I have to go here from time to time when I have issues with my devices. The store is open, lots of opportunities to try things hands hands on. There are helpful workshops from running on various topics. My chief complaint is that you have to make an appointment days in advance. They promote the customer service agents as geniuses, they are anything but geniuses. They may be able to answer very basic questions from grandma, but they know nothing about the hardware or software of their own products. If it is not working as intended, they have no ability to fix anything, they will swap it for a used refurbished device, at the consumer's expense, unless you have Apple Care. If you have Apple Care you get the same replacement of a used device, but the cost is less. There are no geniuses here folks, just swapping one problem for another. The other issue is parking, oh how ParkRTC has made shopping at Reston Town Center unbearable. It is not the cost the I resent, I am happy to pay a few bucks to park, it is the stupid app that they use. I am convinced that the app was designed by monkeys, because usage is counter-intuitive. You want to charge to park? Fine, but you have to make a payment booth with an attendant or have an exit kiosk. This app is awful. ParkRTC even charges those who have a disabled parking permit, worse, they do not have enough disabled spaces available, making it really hard for me to shop their when I have my son with me.

I contacted apple support for help as my new device had some hardware issues which shows “no service” whenever I insert my sim. I reached this store today and They’ve told me that it’s an hardware issue and I would need to pay $350 and turn in my new phone to replace it with another one. Why would I have to pay for the replacement of phone which I just got 2 months ago and which is their fault for shipping me such phone with a hardware issue in it. I’m completely dissatisfied with their service.

Always busy (as is expected), but a few days ago I went in for an appointment, was told to sit at the Genius bar, and then 30 minutes went by before any staff member at the Genius bar even acknowledged my presence. They were busy with others, and there was no good moment to interrupt them and just say "hey, what about me?"... but I would expect to be acknowledged with "sorry for the delay, we'll be with you soon". I'm not thrilled about waiting a half hour even though I showed up on time for my appointment, but it would have been more palatable had staff been courteous and at least acknowledged me and the delay.

I took my relatively new MacBook for repair and they only focused on two of the issues I had and ignored the other issues very inconvenient for me to keep going back and forth for them do fix all the issues with my Mac. I am very upset and disappointed with Apple and this location. I used my MacBook Pro for 9 months and I took care of it (no physical damage) the screen started getting fuzzy and it would over heat and the battery started to get used up quickly. And they replaced the screen and the bottom part of the laptop instead of replacing the whole computer. What’s the point of the laptop if they had to replace everything.

After my wife and daughter spent a couple hours getting "help" on her IPhone that ultimately did not resolve the problem, I went down myself on a day off to try and get help, cause online reservations didn't work and no one answered the phone. After a 30 min drive, and wasting time dealing with Reston's infuriating parking garages, the Apple conciege cheerfully let me know it would be a 2.5-3 hour wait.

Today we had Bring Your Child to Work Day and as part of the day we had a demo at the Apple store. The entire staff was amazing and accommodating for our 15 youngsters. Thank you John for an amazing art demo. They all returned to the office asking their parents to buy them an Ipad! Not sure if the parents are pleased ;)

Apple ... Released a patch which caused disruption to services as well as some of the software critical for business/work purposes. I tried to book an appointment with the store over the phone; however this service is not available. I make arrangement to leave early from my work to reach the store to obtain support. Within the store I explain the assistant about the situation I had run into and how critical it was to get my laptop in operational state since my business/work dependent on it. After few minutes the assistant returns requesting me to book an appointment since their technicians will be leaving 1 hour early from store closing. In the midst of my conversation with the assistant explaining once again to him how critical the support; an individual named Mike jumps in and explains to me that I need to obtain support from my IT department. I explained the individual that I had performed these processes on basis of which they were able to resolve some and not other application issues. I requested for trying to see if I am able to obtain an earlier appointment; however earliest appointment available was 2 days later. I explained him the loss I would incur if this was the case. Being a loyal customer for Apple for so many years; it is a shame that Apple has not developed proper support channels for supporting business critical issues versus general issues which customers have. If Apple wants to retain their existing customers it is high time they step up and invest better trained professionals for support as well as invest in better representatives who are service oriented (not the ones who can't help and waste 20 mins having conversation on baseless things). Not sure who manages this division of support but high time for Tim Cook to review such posts on Apple Store Support. Also a note for Development Team please test the patches thoroughly before releasing them and provide an option to easily downgrade if user runs into issue. There is a lot of process involved to get my laptop back to original state just due to some lack of quality checks

Update: I’m changing my rating from one to two stars because on my third attempt to change the battery, and after my original 1star review, they actually changed the batter in one hour, and the store manager waived the $39 fee, since the first two attempts were a waste of time. My new rating is still lower than I (and I’m sure he as well) would like it to be. That’s because 1. It shouldn’t have taken a bad review to motivate good service. 2. My weekend is most definitely worth more than $39. 3. The first two visits were just really bad. But, it was a good gesture from Keith, and so, at least they’re trying. Thanks to Store Manager Keith for helping me realize that Apple products are not only crappy and over-priced, but they also have the worst customer service in the industry! Two days wasted trying to change a stupid battery, one of which standing in line. Both my family and my business will be dumping this company once and for all. So long, Steve Jobs!

When I went this past weekend customers were out numbered 5-1. Yet none of the workers really wanted to work so would offload me onto the next worker. I had to pay for parking for 2 hours just to be told that the only way to fix my phone is by buying a new one and the warranty expired last week. Since then all texts I have sent to people show up green. I’ve tried signing into my account on the iMessage part of settings and it shuts my phone down completely. I loose battery percentage when doing so as well as more than half of my apps were offloaded for no reason. All in all would not recommend

If I could give 0 reviews I would. I tried giving this place a second chance. However, failed. First time visiting I waited over an hour for someone to come and help me after making an appointment. Same thing happened this time, for me I live two hours away and made an appointment one day ahead of time for a certain time and waiting two hours after checking in for someone to come and help me. After repeatedly asking the sale reps that it was my turn and they laughed and said they were busy. If I were you, and you have issues with your Apple device take it to another Apple store like fair oaks. I’m sorry but this place is definitely a disappointment.

Employees are helpful however it's usually busy with a wait if they can even help you that day. Make sure to make a reservation online beforehand and factor in that parking in Reston town center is not great.

I dont understand why I just counted 17 employees and 10 of them are just standing around not doing anything, but we cant check in 20 minutes early. I'm told because they all have different roles and only a technician can help us. Feels like poor hiring and scheduling management with an major opportunity for cross training departments. Especially since we were here last week to fix the same issue for a brand new phone, so obviously there is a high demand for technicians!

I had some issue with the passcode after installing the latest iOS system. Long story short, I entered the right password all along but my phone kept going to Disabled mode for some odd reason. I didn't even make 5 wrong attempts, which led to 1 min disabled. I then got to the point where I was so close to having to reset to factory setting, meaning I'd lose all the data I hadn't backed up. I came to the store to make an appointment, hoping they could help. They were able to put me in the queue, but the technician was no help. He immediately suggested a factory reset without even looking into the issue itself. Also, there is another alternative to factory reset that would help keep my data, but the technician did not even bother looking into. He suggested that I could get my phone chip read to back up the data, which costs around $700. Does the phone even cost that much actually? This whole time I was there, the technician was acting like it was my fault that I got my phone disabled for so long. I tried to explain to him what happened, but it was no help as he didn't even bother to listen. He just stuck with his explanation about the possibility that someone may have the same passcode as mine (???), which alerted Apple to lock my phone. This place could really use some customer service and technical training.
