1. irresponsible Staff told me that my macbook can be fixed and check the store has lcf for replace, however, after 3 days after I pay the deposit they told me they cannot fix it and did not told the the reason at first. Great place to fix a broken screen on a cellphone, pricing is similar to what most insurance companies charge you as a deductible... Only down side is if you don't have a popular phone, (iPhone) they will have to special order the screen or other parts so you will need to wait a few days to get your phone back. I thought this place uBreakiFIx on 409 8th Street SE #200 was cool...at first. I thought I’d bring my IPad Pro here because it’s close to my residence. Checking my iPad in was no problem. They called 2 days later to let me know that I would have to put a 180 dollar deposit down for parts, I did. They called me a week later to let me know the ipad was fixed and remaining balance was 190, I paid. Now, the problem was that my iPad didn’t turn on. Before it stopped working completely my iPad had charging issues. I would sit it on the charger for hours only to be on 5%. So it’s disheartening when I get my iPad back on 100% and then when i get it home to charge after a week it doesn’t charge. So I’m having the same issue I had before I paid $370 to have the iPad fixed. I call them back today and told them what was going on and the lady on phone Jenia says well when you left it worked. I said but it’s literally a week later and the second time charging it since I got it back and it’s not working. She says with an attitude, well, I said what I said, when you left it was working! Well I paid 370 dollars and I feel like I wasted my money because after a week of having it back, im having the same issues and these people have the audacity to have an attitude when you ask for help! Please, don’t waste your money! I will be writing a much more detailed letter with pictures and this lady’s whole name to her boss. No one should have an attitude with a customer for absolutely no reason especially when the work is poorly done!

Phone was fixed relatively quickly, staff reasonably friendly and it was cheaper than I expected. Used their online appt system to make an appointment, then was told I'd have to wait to have my phone fixed when I brought it in - so what was the appointment for? I was told it's because Samsungs are treated differently than Apple phones, but I think their system asks what kind of phone you have when filling it out. Back of phone case was not appropriately fixed to the rest when I picked it up. Looks like they used a strip of sticky-tape stuff that does not stick properly. Not sure if this is how Samsung makes them or if this unique to the shop. I have a heavy-duty case, so this isn't a big deal and it seems to have fixed itself, but it takes away from the overall experience. I do not have an alternative phone number, so I asked the clerk if being contacted by e-mail was possible when the repair was done, and he said yes. I never received an e-mail, had to contact through Google Calls. I brought my phone in fully or almost fully charged, and when I received it there was about 15% battery left. I didn't have a thought or expectation about the battery, and UBreakIFix doesn't state any promises about battery life upon return, but having it returned charged so it would be usable for more than an hour would improve customer service/care. I would go again for sure, but a few little improvements could take it from 4 to 5 stars.

Superb service with quick turnaround. I took a phone with a broken screen along with the new screen I purchased separately in 2016 and was able to pick it up the next day. It looked like it was brand new. The employees were nice, answered all of my questions, and gave me a quote that was perfect for the service provided. Their service was impeccable and I have recommended them to everyone I know. A coworker used them earlier this year and was very satisfied with their service. If you're looking for quick and efficient repair of your cell phone at a reasonable price, this is the place to go. If the need arises I will use them again.

My laptop was not charging I took it in they said there was an issue and that they fixed it I get it back but it was still broken I call them the next day and they told me they already did their job and that they will be "courteous" and take a second look...businesses these days are getting entitled it is unfortunate to see that in a small business setting too. it's great! my Pixel 2 met an unfortunate demise but uBreakiFix fixed my favorite phone! the ladies working the front are very friendly and made me rest assured knowing my phone was in good hands. the waiting room is nice and clean w/ few chairs, reading magazines, and a selection of cases and screen protectors for your phone to pick & choose at your leisure. the repair was very reasonably priced and the turn around time was way less than the one that they told! tl;dr: friendly staff, clean store, cheap repair, fast fix. would recommend.

I took my laptop in and for a week, they had my laptop. Finally when I called they said it was fixed but when I got home. It was all broken. So unless your needing a cracked phone replacement. These guys aren't real computer techs. It works have been one thing if they would of just said it wasn't fixable rather than saying it was fixed and it really wasn't!

They wanted 3x as much as anyone else to repair my phone. Call for a quote before you go. I called around and the range to fix my phone was 100-180. Then, I saw this place and the good reviews so I just walked in thinking that the cost would be somewhere in that range. I was wrong, they wanted to charge me 280. Came to your store to have my camera lens replaced and your sell rep deined fixing the phone because I would not pay 230.00 dollats to fix a problem with the phone that did not need fixing at this time. I went to 7th street store and the rep was able to fix my camera lens for 79.00 dollars. I will not be visiting the H street store again. I am beginning to wonder if this is your policy to determine the amount to be paid by the location of your store. Upon drop-off of my laptop, although the staff were courteous, it took nearly 1/2 hr to be seen, and only 2 customers were before me. When they called me the next day with an estimate, they stated 50% would need to be deposited at the store before they could begin work. This wasn't told to me when I dropped it off, nor could they take my credit card over the phone, so I had to go there once again just to pay the deposit. The repair was done in a timely manner, but when I got my device home, I found they hadn't fully secured the bottom, some screws were loose. So far it's working well, but it's only been a few days.

Paid around $300 for them to fix my iphone 6 screen (they said because there was a spot on the screen, it would cost more) and waiting an hour in line. Within ONE WEEK, the top half of the screen started pulling apart from the phone. Debated taking it back in to have them refix for free but decided it wasn't worth it if they were going to cut corners and do such a shotty job, and took my business elsewhere. Would not recommend.

Went to the store to get my Iphone 6s fixed - i cracked the screen. A friend told me about this place. I went in and the lady wants to charge me $200 to fix the screen. A total rip off. You can go over to the Apple Store in Georgetown and it costs $129 plus tax and you get certified Apple products. I cant believe the lady had the scummy idea to try to charge me that price. There's no way she didn't know the price at the Apple store. Lucky i was smart enough to call around. Do not go here. Simple go online or call the store and make an appointment at the Apple Store in Georgetown at the Genius Bar. If you make any appt it's really easy and quick. You'll drop your phone off for an hour and come back and it will be done.

On June 7th my phone was fixed and I payed for the replacement including expedited shipping. After working out a shipping issue with the customer support I received my phone and it is in excellent working condition and works just like new.

Top Notch service at a fair price. Replaced our Galaxy S9+ broken front glass while maintaining the Samsung warranty for far less than any of the competitors I looked into. Open on Sunday, no appointment required, same day fix and only took an hour to complete the job. Very professional, I highly recommend this shop to others. And honestly, at $225 for OEM screen replacement, this makes costly monthly warranty packages with their sky high deductibles completely unnecessary.

They have very friendly staff. The prices are more than I personally like, but truthfully, they are in line with industry prices. The move very quick to make repairs these days. I remember just one or two years ago when repairs took a day or two to complete. Now repairs are made in about an hours, which is great. I’ve been to them several times and have never had to return because of issues with the work. However, the 90 warranty on the work is a plus.

The people working at this location were awful. I dropped my phone off first thing in the morning and was told around noon it would be done. I called and was told 2pm. I eventually showed up at 330pm and the phone hasn't even been started. I eventually left around 5pm with a busted open phone that the charging port did not work and they damaged my home screen button. I took it into be looked at by apple and the damage done on the inside due to the technicians here was beyond repair. Now I am out a thousand dollars for my new iPhone. Do not waste your time this place is absolute garbage and the staff is not trained.

Candice and Robert were extremely helpful, professional, and patient. I had my phone screen replaced and upon receipt I tried to explain to the tech that it looked defective (screen very dim). He assured me everything was fine. I brought my phone back in another day as the screen had in fact started having more issues and now my speaker phone stopped working. I spoke with Robert who grabbed his supervisor Candice. They both were great but Candice went above and beyond to ensure I received a working screen and explained that very rarely it does happen that they receive a screen from their manufacturer that is defective. She replaced the screen, cleaned the inside of my phone (it was dusty), and fixed the speaker phone issue. The button started having issues a couple of days after that and she fixed that as well! Thanks Candice and Rob!!!

I let them an IPad and they told me that they would contact me that same day or the next morning. I went to the store tow days later and they even didn't start to look at it. As I am traveling, I had to take it with me. It was a complete loss of time and a terrible service.

Among the shops I found online, this one stood out because of its interesting name. I was then looking for a repair shop that could fix my then problematic MacBook. I’m glad I picked them, because not only are their prices reasonable, the turnaround time for the job they do is also really fast.

I stopped in to uBreakIFix on 8th Street this evening around 6pm to see about getting the broken screen on my iPone 8 fixed. The technician Liz met me and explained all the options for fixing it and said that she could fix it in about half an hour. I was prepared to come back the next day to pick it up but was pleasantly surprised at the quick turnaround time. Sure enough she fixed it that night in the last hour and it looks an works great. Many thanks to Liz and uBreakiFix for restoring my phone so quickly. Liz was very helpful and kind and clued me into some products to help me protect my phone in the future. This is a great service for Capitol Hill folks who don’t have an Apple store anywhere around. Highly recommended. Lewis.
